Cambridge River Trips

Fantastic experience: A 30th birthday celebration to remember! I had been looking for something special to do to celebrate a big birthday, when I came across ‘Cambridge River Trips’ offering an afternoon tea experience travelling down the idyllic River Cam, Cambridge. The owner Paul was extremely helpful in arranging all aspects of the afternoon, detailing the different options available and executed the trip to perfection! Arriving in Cambridge on a gorgeous, sunny Spring day, Paul and Victoria were docked awaiting our arrival at a pub within walking distance from the city centre with the boat set up ready for an afternoon tea, with Prosecco on ice. There were lovely small touches like the use of quaint bone china, and they took catering for vegetarians in their stride, making the sandwiches according to my request, along with a selection of delicious cakes and scones accompanied with clotted cream and jam – there was no shortage of food what so ever. Paul had anticipated the large amount of Prosecco that would be consumed by 8 females, and brilliantly had extra bottles stocked on board for us so that our glasses were never empty. I had supplied a music playlist which we had playing throughout the duration of the trip which again was a great extra touch, as was stopping at a pub halfway down the river for further refreshments. The boat was immaculate and ever so comfortable, with the trip down the river being so relaxing yet exciting at the same time, with beautiful sights and the sun shining. Paul happily took an endless amount of pictures for us to remember the day, and it was made even more special by Paul and Victoria supplying a birthday cake for myself and letting me have the experience of driving the boat for a distance! I would greatly recommend Cambridge River Trips to everyone, and my friends all walked away commenting on what a brilliant time they had. Fantastic experience: Yesterday my wife and I , and a couple of friends , had the most wonderful afternoon onboard the Cambridge. We were met at the quayside by Paul and Victoria, a charming couple, who could not have made our boat trip any more enjoyable. As we were taken down the river, we were treated to delicious food and drinks, all beautifully presented. The views of quintessential England drifted by, with swans and all manner of wildlife making you realise just how wonderful this part of the world is. After an hour we moored alongside a delightful pub, and enjoyed some lovely cold beers, etc, sitting in their gardens watching the many rowers out on the river. Back on board, and after another hour approximately we were deposited back at the Boathouse pub, feeling utterly spoilt , and wishing the whole experience could have been longer. If you want an enchanting way to see England at its best, look no further. This immaculate little craft, and her wonderful crew, deserve nothing less than 5*.

Fantastic experience: This place is the perfect summer getaway! Located by the riverside, it offers a refreshing escape from the heat. The view is stunning and the atmosphere is relaxing. Grab a drink, sit back, and soak up the sunshine! ☀️

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic family time for my wife's birthday Paul and Victoria were such good hosts with a great knowledge of the surrounding area. Nothing was to much trouble I would fully recommend this boat trip great hosts and a lovely boat

Fantastic experience: What a brilliant time we had on Sunday 4th August 2019.2 hours on the boat including at stop at the pub on the way back.We had a mini 21st party for 4 of us and Paul and Victoria couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We chilled out listening to our own music whilst watching the beautiful Cambridge scenery go by .We drank prosecco beautifully poured by Victoria whilst Paul did a fantastic job of manoeuvring the boat .I can't recommend this highly enough.We will definitely return

Fantastic experience: On the last day of my holiday in Cambridge my family treated me to a picnic on the boat, it will be remembered as a wonderful, relaxing, informative and fun finale of my trip. Paul was an exceptional host, good humoured and patient with the throng of people wanting a turn to play captain. Highly recommended and you are appreciated by this Aussie.

Fantastic experience: I reserved the trip as a surprise for a 30th Birthday. All the guests really enjoyed the trip despite the cold and wet weather. The boat was covered and blankets and electric hotwater bottles were available and indeed very appreciated. The weateher made the atmosphere even more lovely and cosy. Paul and Victoria are perfect hosts. I would definitely recommend a trip with them.

Fantastic experience: Very pleasant, the hot water bag service in the cold winter is great, and the guide is very polite.

Fantastic experience: The environment is very unique, there are many elderly people, and the senior menu is very affordable! Just having some dim sum and coffee isn't expensive either. ps I hardly saw any Asian faces.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fabulouse afternoon tea party with lovely hosts for my daughters 'hen' celebration, couldn't have been better or more accomodating, can't recommend them more and will definately book with them again

Fantastic experience: Went on this lovely little boat today for a 'hen do' The hosts Paul and Victoria were lovely, made us feel very welcome and relaxed while they took us for our 2 hour ride along the River Cam. Our lunch was gorgeous and plenty for us all. Thank you again for an exceptional experience. Will be booking up again.

Fantastic experience: We have just arrived back in Norwich after a hen weekend in Cambridge, where we took a 90 minute round trip, complete with prosecco, music, and the most accomodating captain you could ask for. Paul is so friendly and helpful, and the boat is immaculate. The trip was wonderful and we had amazing weather for it. Cannot recommend them highly enough! We have one very happy bride to be!

Fantastic experience: This trip was booked as a surprise for my husband's Big '0 birthday. We all thoroughly enjoyed the informative 2 hour tour of the River Cam. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious and the service impeccable. Copious amounts of tea much appreciated. Do book a trip - you'll love it!

Fantastic experience: Me and my husband received a river trip as a wedding gift from my brother. We had a truly amazing day! Paul and Victoria had catered for our every need with a huge choice of sandwiches, cakes and drinks in what seemed like an endless supply. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. They both had a wealth of information about the river and its surroundings, from local architects to wildlife. We will be visiting them again as we plan to take our children along next time. We highly recommend their services, and we would like to thank them again for making us feel so welcome and comfortable. We must also mention the boat itself is exquisite, the quiet battery powered boat allows you to really enjoy the peace and quiet on the river, and it's suitable for all weather conditions. Perfect!

Fantastic experience: Fabulous morning spent boating along the Cam in a very lovely boat. So tranquil.. Paul and Victoria were the perfect hosts.
