Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of joining Tatra Escapes, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The organization and communication were flawless, making everything feel seamless and stress-free. The accommodation was comfortable and charming, set perfectly in the midst of beautiful surroundings. The hikes were truly stunning, showcasing breathtaking views at every turn. Alena, our guide, was not only professional but also had a magnetic personality that brought the group together. Her knowledge and passion for the area made the experience even more enjoyable. I loved that the small group dynamic facilitated great interaction, yet still allowed for moments of personal time when needed. It was the perfect balance. I can’t recommend Tatra Escapes enough for anyone seeking a well-organized adventure in such a beautiful setting!

Fantastic experience: Great weeklong itinerary in the Slovakian Tatras, all organised by the super helpful Alena at Tatra Escapes. From the pickup in Krakow the six of us from the ABMSAC were transported to the lovely accommodations at Penzion Darinka in Poprad in just over a couple of hours. We were able to drop off our luggage and enjoy an afternoon exploring the medieval part of town as well as shopping for provisions at the nearby Lidl. What followed then was a really great five day itinerary alternating hard days with easier ones. Transport each day was from the Poprad-Tatry railway station directly to the base of the mountains and back at the end of the day. We enjoyed good evening meals either at the Penzion or in Poprad during the week and as we got used to the routine we enjoyed some strenuous but well thought out days in these beautiful mountains. We were so lucky with the weather and finding Alena and her company. I look forward to visiting Slovakia again and travelling under the excellent Tatra Escapes guidance once more. Many thanks from the six of us.

The whole break went so smoothly, the hotel was perfect, all transfers on time and activities were well planned to fill the time and be inclusive for our whole group. Slovakia is a stunning country and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tatra Escapes to anybody.

Fantastic experience: I had an absolutely wonderful time in Slovakia. Alena was a fabulous host and hike leader, so friendly, welcoming and fun. The accommodation was really lovely and she made reservations for dinner for our group which took the stress out of finding somewhere to eat. It was so lovely to have such an adventure packed few days without having to organise it myself! I would definitely recommend Tatra Escapes and hope to do another trip away with them in the future

Fantastic experience: I have had another fantastic experience with Tatra Escapes. I've just come back from the Wellness Retreat in Slovakia. Highly recommended it. I met some lovely people and shared experiences. We went on a couple of hikes. The views were stunning, pure, and all natural beauty. I also gave Yoga ago. The hotel we stayed at was clean and very friendly. I'd like to think I would come back in the future to Slovakia with Tatra Escapes. I really enjoyed it. Amazing, especially the host, Alena

Fantastic experience: I’ve just had a lovely break, booking through Alena and Tatra Escapes. The hotel was very nice, with a great selection of food. The activities were tailored around ability of the group, and Alena’s local knowledge meant any questions and requests were answered with ease. Myself and the group had a relaxing and amazing time. The Tatras are a very special place. I hope to visit again soon.

Fantastic experience: I had such a fantastic holiday with Tatra escapes on the moderate to hard hiking holiday. The Tatras are such a beautiful area and literally took my breath away at every turn. No words or pictures do justice to how beautiful this area is. Right from booking Alena was in touch, every email answered quickly and I felt very at ease. Alena picked us up at the airport and gave us an introduction to the local area. The accommodation was very modern and very clean, breakfast excellent. The hikes were very well planned, the guides very professional but friendly and good fun and the scenery just breathtaking. I travelled with a friend and we left after the others as our bus to Poland wasn’t until the evening. Alena gave lots of useful tips for what to do on our last day and excellent instructions for the trains needed etc and then helped us get to our bus. My teenage son has expressed an interest in visiting the Tatras after seeing my adventure and I wouldn’t hesitate in using Alena/Tatra escapes to Facilitate this. We arrived as strangers however left feeling like Alena and the rest of the group were close friends x x

Fantastic experience: The best introduction to Slovakia and the High Tatras! Alena is an exceptional host who provides a thoughtfully curated set of activities, showcasing some of the best parts of Slovakia and the High Tatras. From booking to venturing into the mountains, everything was effortless. Once you’ve booked, all you need to do is enjoy the adventure! Everything is taken care of, including transfers, accommodation, and activities. I extended my trip, and Alena was incredibly helpful in arranging this, as well as providing excellent recommendations for things I could do with my extra time. I highly recommend the optional water rafting and bike ride on your first day. The accommodation is excellent, set on a quiet hill in Poprad, just a 15-minute walk from the train station, which also includes the electric mountain train. My room was great—very clean and tidy—and breakfast, which is included in your stay, was very good. A big shout out to Lenka and the other staff members who were always happy to help. It was such a fantastic experience that I’m already considering returning for the moderate to hard hiking holiday.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved every minute of this trip. The optional rafting is well worth the extra, the accommodation exceeded expectations, the hikes were well organised and the food options were delicious. Alena is a fantastic host who really looked after us. I'd definitely recommend adding an extra couple of days on to explore more at your leisure. None of us wanted to go home at the end and I'm certainly keen to go back for another adventure there!

Fantastic experience: What a joy to discover Slovakia and the incredibly stunning Tatra Mountains. The trip exceeded my expectations. Alena is a brilliant guide who looked after us very well. She is informed, organised, highly professional and a lovely person... everything ran so smoothly and I always felt in safe hands. I really have no criticisms. The accommodation was lovely too.

Fantastic experience: Had the best holiday ever! Alena was very helpful before the trip and throughout the trip, she picked me up from the airport even though I came out a few days earlier to go to Poland. All the walks were really nice, spectacular views and great memories made! Alena was an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable about the area. The group who I was with were all lovely people and we got on very well, wouldn't hesitate to book again and looking forward to my next trip with Tatra escapes!

Fantastic experience: This was my first ever group hiking holiday and it far exceeded expectations. Alena was a wonderful host, and very knowledgeable of the area. Due to weather conditions we couldn't do one of the activities but she offered an alternative, and again was a fab experience. (We can't control the weather!) I deffo want to come back and will be looking to use Tatra Escapes again in the future. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Alena was very professional in both the lead up to the trip and on the trip itself, but also personable and easy to get on with. I was on the Tatras winter hiking trip in March 2024 and even though it was the warmest winter there since records began, she adjusted the plans and took us to some wonderful places. I loved the ice sculptures, and the cloud inversion. The group also went to the nearby spa to relax. The group was really great, we all got along together well. The hotel staff were helpful. Food and drink were very reasonably priced compared to the UK! I had a mix of traditional dishes and 'pub' style food. The biggest surprise was the Slovakians have great taste in music.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic holiday in the snowy Tatras hosted by Alena. She made sure we got the most out of our short trip in a fun and relaxed way with husky sledding, snowy hikes, sledging, ice sculptures, mountain huts, snowshoeing in the most scenic locations, great meals out and of course Tatratea sampling!

Fantastic experience: This was my second trip with Tatra Escapes. It is very rare for me to book a similar holiday twice, but the first time was so good that I wanted to repeat the experience; and I was definately not disapointed. Alena the host is extremely competent. She is friendly, flexible very attentive and willing to "go that extra mile" to make your experience truly special. She is bilingual (Slovak and English) and knows the area like the back of her hand. She has a network of equally brilliant contacts in Poprad,which means that from the accomodation to the walks to the optional extras everything is truly top quality and there is nothing of the "mass produced" feel about the holiday. For example the huskies were brought out especially for our small group of 6; same with the snowshoeing; it is a full day activity with a knowledgable fully bilingual and friendly leader/guide exclusive to us 6. Obviously a reasonable level of general fitness is required ( the holiday I went on was the winter walking one). However I am in my 60's and though I regularly walk 5 or 6 miles I am by no means a "fitness freak", and I managed the snowshoeing and all but the most challenging walk. The accomodation is a 5 minute walk away from a fantastic thermal water spa. On the day of the harder walk I had already planned to spend a day there, enjoying the wonderful hot outdoor pools and all the water jets. It is easy to spend 4 or 5 hours there and so this was a great option for me. I am sure had I wished then Alena would have come up with an equally suitable alternative for me. As I say everything is very flexible and Alena is very accomodating. I would recommend this holiday to anyone who wants a truly special and unique experience amongst magnificent scenery with warm and friendly hosts; not to mention the hearty and very tasty Slovak food which is all available at more than reasonable cost. Everyone who came on this trip came alone; in my opinion it is definately something you can do on your own , though I know she also organises holidays for couples and ready made small groups etc according to your situation and interests.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful 5 day Winter Hiking Holiday courtesy of Tatra Escapes. The process of booking the holiday was very smooth; Alena was very responsive and answered all my questions immediately. The accommodation was very comfortable and close to the picturesque medieval part of Poprad, with a number of cafes and restaurants. The Tatra mountains are stunning, and Alena is an excellent and expert guide. I would also recommend the Husky sledding and snowshoeing days, with Erik a fantastic guide for this. A great group of people and a fabulous holiday!

Fantastic experience: Slovakia was everything I wanted it to be, and made very easy by Tatra Escapes and predominantly by Alena. The whole process was very easy and communication and guidance were available throughout the few months before departure. I opted for the Huskies on arrival day and the Snowshoe day which are both a must if available. Local restaurants were fantastic. Accommodation was very clean and location was perfect for amenities. Slovakia ❤️

Fantastic experience: Just returned from an amazing few days away with Tatra Escapes. The Tatra mountains are absolutely stunning. Alena was super attentive and made sure that nobody got left behind. The accomodation was immaculate and very comfortable, with a lovely bar where you could relax in the evenings. I went in my own and met some fabulous people who I will stay in touch with. It was a totally exhilarating experience. If you are considering, just go for it!

Fantastic experience: Just got back from a wonderful trip , the beginners - intermediate trek and what a fantastic adventure we had . Forests of Christmas trees , rolling grassland and dramatic jagged peaks , A superb bunch of like minded people , strangers at first , firm friends by the end . The landscape is breathtaking, food really tasty and Alena was a great informative guide and companion. Would def go again

Fantastic experience: An excellent trip, well organised, the host Alena was lovely and welcoming. Accommodation and breakfast were perfect and we were located near the Old Town which is quiet and I had a great sleep in the comfy bed. There is an Aldi nearby, meals are cheap and transport cheap as well. Bring hydration tabs. Rysy is an awesome day in the mountains and I can happily recommend TatraEscapes.

Fantastic experience: Well organised hiking holiday, beautiful location and a fantastic guide. This was my first time hiking away from home with a group of people I was meeting for the first time and even though that might be a little unsettling, everything flawed naturally. Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of going on a Slovakia trip arranged by Alena. From start to finish, my experience with Alena was nothing short of exceptional. Her attention to detail and personalised approach made all the difference in planning this fab trip. Transportation was arranged for us from the airport, and we were greeted with bubbly upon our arrival before heading for Rafting in Pieniny National Park. She was extremely apologetic that weather turned unfavorable on the day of our arrival, but it all cleared up following day. After breakfast (was really good too) next day, we went to Green lake high, had lunch at mountain hut. Next day, we went for a 6hr waterfall hike with an amazing view. In the evening we relaxed in the Aquacity Spa, which was very a peculiar experience My highlight was going up the mountains in the cable car and driving down back in karts, it looks scary but was safe and full of adrenaline rush. Food was lovely, enjoyed the beer, local food (Guolash & Potato pancakes MUST try) and so was the group. Met some wonderful people and made amazing memories. Alena took time to interact with each and every member of the team and worked diligently to find the best options for us. What impressed me most was how kind Alena was and how knowledgeable she was. She is an experienced hiker, so it was even better experience as she shares her experiences of hikes and give suggestions where needed. Even when some of the team member was not feeling great due to health reasons she came up with other plans/activities for them to do and constantly checking on them. I have already forwarded the “Tatra Escapes” websites to my colleagues at work. I highly recommend taking a trip with Tatra Escapes, leaves everything to Alena and just enjoy. Once again, thanks Alena.

Fantastic experience: I visited Slovakia on a hiking/adventure holiday. Alana the hostess was very welcoming and very helpful though out the trip. She organised everything and had a great knowledge of the area. The accommodation was beautiful and the owner very friendly. The hikes were breathtaking and extra activities like rafting and mountain go karts were a lot of fun. I would highly recommend booking with them.

Fantastic experience: Wow. The trip to the Slovakian Tatra Mountains was amazing. The scenery is stunning. Tatra Escapes organised everything in detail and gave very clear instructions. Most importantly they listened and responded to feedback. My group were integrating the Fitness Holiday and OIAL trip with other activities. Alina helped us organise everything from transfers between Poland and Slovakia to advice on hotels and activities we could do in Slovakia. I lost count of the number of emails that went between us but she responded to them all in a timely manner. In addition, Alina set up an affordable payment plan with monthly prompts which made this easier for us all to manage. I would definitely travel with them again. Thank you Tatra Escapes.

Fantastic experience: We visited the Tatra region before COVID and can't wait to go back again. Alena has advised us on many family activities and places to visit, which we would simply not know about without her help. She has an excellent knowledge of the local area and can keep a family with a teenager and an early teen busy! There are plenty of hiking opportunities, however, we would have not stumble upon some of the fun activities without her guidelines. Highly recommend getting in touch with Alena for your holiday in Tatra mountains.

Fantastic experience: Alena at Tatra Ecapes orchestrated the best short break I have ever experienced. It was my first visit to Slovakia and I was blown away, so much so that I have already asked Tatra Escapes to plan another trip for myself and a group of friends. It was fantastic to have the trip tailored for me and with Alena's intimate knowledge of attractions and places to visit, I was able to experience the beauty of the Tatra Mountains which left me literally speechless. Warm Slovakian welcomes, traditional fayre (Tatratea is an eye opener!) and I even saw a wild brown bear in the forest! The excursions were fun filled and plentiful and very reasonably priced and the transport was clean and timely. I cannot recommend Alena and Tatra Escapes enough, and i cannot wait for our next visit!
