Fantastic experience: Can't say enough great things about this organization. They were so easy to work with from start to finish. Not only did they set up everything perfectly for my trip, but when there was a small issue, they were super quick to follow up. I would confidently use them again anytime.

Fantastic experience: Just home after walking 14 days on the SWCP, Minehead to Padstow. What a beautiful stretch of coastline................ Many thanks to Linda, Mike and the team at Walk the Trail for a fantastic trip. The comprehensive information we received prior to our trip was superb and the contact during our walk was much appreciated regarding our care. We are looking forward to booking up for the next stage! Elaine and Ann

Fantastic experience: In late August 2024, my sister and my neice and I traveled from Alabama and Tennessee to hike the 73 miles of the South West Coast Path from Exmouth to Lulworth Cove in celebration of my 70th birthday. It was a fantastic walk made even better by the services provided by Walk The Trail! From the beginning planning stages through to the last evening of our hike, the Walk The Trail team was available, responsive, reliable, good-natured and helpful. The accommodations they booked for us were, without exception, perfect. We loved staying in the small, independent hotels and B&Bs! They were all located in places that were easy to walk to from the trail. The breakfast at each place was generous, nourishing and really good. Thank you, Linda, Mike and all your team for the great job you did for us! We would definitely use Walk The Trail again. Here are a few pictures including one is us in Exmouth the evening before the start of our hike.

Fantastic experience: WTT organized a perfectly organized hiking trip for us from St. Ives to Lizard Point. Cornwall presented itself in its most diverse form during these 8 days. It was a pleasure for us. The daily stages of up to 13.5 miles were quite demanding at times. One can easily be on the way for a good 7 hours. All important details are precisely described and there are usually no questions left unanswered if you read everything carefully. The baggage transfer, the taxis, the accommodations, and our hosts were always reliable and very friendly. The landscape is impressive and loveable. Experiencing Cornwall with WTT was one of my most beautiful trips. Tips: Consider additional overnight stays in St Ives and Porthleven. Penzance is rather loud and not as picturesque. AllTrails+ was very useful and usage is recommended. Even though the app wanted a different route a few times than was signposted. Often, there just aren't any signposts, and the app helps in such moments (don't forget to download the power bank and maps the night before). Thanks to the WTT team and our wonderful hosts.

Fantastic experience: I've used the Walk the Trail team (Linda, Mike et al) twice now for SWCP tours and had a thoroughly great time on both occasions! 1) SWCP St Ives-Penzance in 2022 Firstly it was great that there was flexibility within each section of the SWCP to work out your itinerary based on the average number of miles per day, it was extremely easy to book and make enquiries online, and once you had confirmed a booking, you have an online portal with information. They made sure our walker's pack was posted with plenty of time to arrive by international mail - SWCP guide book, detailed ordinance maps for our sections, night-by-night itinerary with links to maps for each section of the trail and a location for our B&B accommodation. In the end I never used the paper maps because they also recommended using the Komoot app, so we were able to get GPS navigation of each day's hike (which was helpful in some of the more remote areas where the trail was less clear; sometimes there seemed to be public footpaths/byways at various intersections that we did need to walk but at other times the SWCP was different, so it wasn't always clear which path to take). It was extremely easy to get in touch with the team - we opted to use the environmentally friendly public bus option to get from Porthcurno to our accommodation in Penzance, but it only came hourly and once they reached the maximum number of passengers, they wouldn't take anymore. So we were grateful for Linda's assistance as they helped us book a taxi and took care of the payment. They were kind enough to check up regarding the extreme weather warnings. Note that the baggage transfer is strict on 20kg - but it was easy to pay for a bit of extra baggage to be transferred for the next stops. The B&Bs selected were perfectly charming - all of the breakfast options were delicious and extremely filling - we barely needed to eat during the hikes. When we were unable to join at the usual breakfast time due to getting started early on the hike, our host in Penzance made us a take-away breakfast bag of goodies so that we wouldn't miss out! Regarding the hike itself, the views for this section of the SWCP were spectacular - and we had some excellent weather to appreciate the fine views. We were immensely thankful for the wonderful organisation of the team from Walk the Trail and truly enjoyed our hassle-free self-guided walking tour. We would thoroughly recommend them, and if we end up back in the UK hiking again, we will definitely rebook with them! 2) Penzance-Polperro in 2024 (customised trip length) Having had such an awesome experience in 2022, I used Walk the Trail again this year for another section of the SWCP as a solo hiker. I wanted to walk a slightly longer section than the "routine" ones advertised, so I was able to use the "anywhere to anywhere" function to decide the exact section and average miles per day and added a rest day in my personalised itinerary. Again everything was organised so well with daily itineraries and trip notes (eg. ferry crossings, expected low tide). This time they used AllTrails for the mapping app. All of the accommodation options were fabulous - the hosts in Porthleven and The Lizard were particularly gregarious and welcoming, and the food was just as generous and tasty as before! (Again, I barely had to eat on the trail itself due to the large breakfasts served, and I was hiking 18-28k per day!). Beware on relying just on the app for trail navigation - having the SWCP guide book and paper map is useful as there were some path detours and the app sent me on a section of beach that should have been on the clifftop. The weather gods weren't always favourable, but the hiking and the views were amazing as always. All in all another fabulous experience, and looking forward to my next SWCP adventure with the Walk the Trail team!

Fantastic experience: We recently returned from the UK where we spent 12 days in Cornwall, walking the South West Coast Path. Since it was our first time in the area doing this kind of trip, we had a lot of questions. We spent some time researching and reaching out to the various companies specializing in this kind of trip to help us plan. We settled on Walk the Trail because they responded quickly, provided great suggestions, had reasonable rates and had great reviews. We were thoroughly pleased with our choice. The suggested itinerary was perfect. The trail tools provided were very useful and accurate. The accommodations selected were well located, super clean, friendly and had amazing breakfasts. Our luggage was picked up and delivered every day without a hitch. Schedules for ferries were helpful and a booking for a taxi went smoothly. It was great to arrive at our location each afternoon, tired from walking and being able to simply check in to each accommodation by simply giving your name and to see our luggage waiting for us. Linda and the team at Walk the Trail did a fantastic job. While we were there, there were some train disruptions due to union activity. Even though our walking trip had ended, Linda sent us an email with alternate suggestions to help us get to our next destination by bus. She really went above and beyond. We would not hesitate to work with Linda and the team at Walk the Trail in the future.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I contacted Linda at Walk the Trail with relatively short notice about doing a 7-day coastal path walk and we had a very positive experience from the very first interaction. We spoke with a real person and got real, straight-forward explanations to all our questions. We booked our walk right away and Linda and team organized everything in a very seamless and professional manner. Our accommodation was great, luggage service was arranged and executed on without a hitch and we felt to be in very safe and secure hands. Our walking experience on the trail surpassed our expectations in terms of beauty and we absolutely plan to return to the area and walk again. My wife and I highly recommend Walk the Trail and are so happy to have found them when we did!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I recently completed a stretch of the SW Coast Path in Dorset between Lyme Regis and Poole and then walked on to Bournemouth. The experience working with Linda and her team was so positive, starting with her great personable communication during the planning process. The arrangements for our accommodations, which were all so welcoming and comfortable, the luggage transfers, as well as a few taxi rides, along with the information package, made for a very seamless and stress free adventure. We highly recommend Walk the Trail and will definitely plan to use them for any future walks. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Just got back from a three week walking holiday in Wales organised by Walk the Trail, the Pembrokeshire Coast Walk plus a few extra days in North Wales, and the whole thing was flawless, the perfect holiday. Been booking my walking holidays in the UK with them for years and have never been disappointed. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Walk the Trail arranged our accommodation and luggage transfer for a section of the SWCP in Cornwall. We experienced excellent communication from Linda at Walk the Trail. Our accommodations were and excellent mix and were as close to the path as possible. Our luggage transfer never missed a beat. We loved Cornwall and were very happy to use the services of this local company.

Fantastic experience: If you are considering walking any or all of the South West Coast Path, you couldn’t find a better company to help you than Walk The Trail. They organised our 26 days walking, all accommodation and baggage transfers and everything went without a hitch. They are excellent communicators with immediate replies to emails and detailed information - clear and easy to follow. Their knowledge of the path was invaluable and they were able to make suggestions on variations that, once we were on the path, we found out were sensible and necessary. Generally, the accommodation was very good and any taxi transfers were efficient. I would definitely recommend Walk The Trail as a fantastic company who delivers a quality experience.

Fantastic experience: We have now done a hiking trip on the South West Coast Path with Walk the Trail for the second time. WTT is simply a great hiking travel company that enjoys our full trust. From the organization to the execution of the trip, everything was perfectly organized and tailored to our individual wishes. Particularly, the service on site with luggage transport and taxi transfers was very well organized, including weather warnings when necessary. A thank you to Linda and the whole Walk the Trail team - thanks to your very good organization, we once again had a fantastic hiking holiday in Southern England.

Fantastic experience: Many thanks to Walk the Trail for organising our wonderful Hadrian's Wall walk. The experience of a lifetime: stunning countryside and fascinating history. All the accommodation was welcoming and immaculately clean, the luggage transfers were faultless and the maps and AllTrails app were very useful. We particularly enjoyed Hill on the Wall in Gilsland with its lovely rooms and stunning location.

Fantastic experience: My wife and and two friends used Walk the Trail to book our accommodation and baggage transfer while walking the southern section of the South West Coast path and part of the northern section. This also entailed a number of taxi transfers to and from accommodation sites where they were not directly on the trail. This is not the first time that we have used Walk the Trail and, just like the previous occasion, their organisation was faultless. On this last occasion matters were made more complicated as my wife and I became sick and had to miss part of the walk. Walk the Trail contacted the hotels on our behalf to explain the situation. They also gave us some much needed advance warning of some potentially dangerous weather events that might affect our walk. Both during the booking process and the walk itself Walk the Trail was a pleasure to deal with. Dr Andrew Sturman Rye, Victoria, Australia

Fantastic experience: Walk the Trail handled the arrangements for our walk of second quarter of the South West Coast Path (Falmouth to Exmouth) very efficiently and in a friendly manner. It all worked very well. Their documentation in particular was excellent and comprehensive. We hope to use them again on the final two quarters.

Fantastic experience: best "travel agency" ever. Although being from Germany and having to wait for 2 years ( Corona ) we ( my sister and I ) had all the time very nice contact to the staff about planning, organisation and all the Corona news so we never felt being left alone. Our individually planned tour was perfectly organised. Information, documents and maps were detailed provided. Accomodations were nicely selected. We can recommend "Walk The Trail" without limitation and are looking forward to our next booking with "Walk The Trail". Many many thanks for making a great holiday possible.

Fantastic experience: This is the third time we have walked long sections of the South West Coast Path having booked with Walk the Trail. This time from Minehead to Newquay. Once again WTT’s organisation, support and customer service was superb. We really appreciated the itinerary, the trip notes, the accommodation and the ease of the luggage transfer arrangements. This year we decided on two rest days and WTT organised these perfectly to meet our requirements for lovely places to stay and explore. The walk itself was amazing … a magical mix of cliffs, bays, beaches, woodland, wildlife and places to visit on route. It was challenging at times, but always so rewarding, especially each evening when we’d reached our destination and we were enjoying a very welcome ice cream or beer. Thank you so much WTT. We’re looking forward to completing the last 100 miles to Poole next year. Can’t wait!

Fantastic experience: Over the last 6 years we have booked 8 holidays with Walk the Trail which have involved 50 days of walking, accommodation, and luggage transfers to get us round the 630 miles of the South West Coast Path. Everything has been organised by them and worked perfectly without a hitch. Two of the holidays took place when there were COVID restrictions and still there were no problems. The staff are very friendly and we have developed a great relationship with them over the years. If they cannot find accommodation close to the path taxis are organised to save the legs any extra miles! I would not hesitate to recommend them for any of their walking holidays and will certainly be using them again.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and efficient service. Prompt and sensible responses to enquiries. Any niggles caused by external influences quickly resolved. Customer wishes always taken into account and sound advice given on the art of the possible. Luggage pick up and delivery worked very smoothly and seemlessly. Accommodation selected was spot on for my needs.

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to send you a quick note to say what a wonderful holiday I had. The walk was everything I could’ve hoped for and more. For the most part I was very lucky and the weather was glorious, making the views of the sea and the different colours even more amazing. The accommodation that you arranged was top class and I was very happy with it. Couldn’t have asked for more and the hosts in the guest houses were all so lovely it really was like a home from home (but with better breakfasts). I would recommend the majority to my friends and will certainly stay there in the future if the opportunity arises. I did think I had invented a new term ‘Gliking’ to describe what I was doing but it turns out it already exists in the urban dictionary so I will have to stop claiming that one as my own. However it is an apt description for the experience which was faultless and stress free. From the accommodation to the luggage transfer to the taxis, everything was perfect. I know you can’t claim any influence over the weather but even there I couldn’t have asked for more. I am already trying to think through what my next SW trail itinerary will be and when I can arrange to take it. I did tell anyone who asked about walk the trail and how brilliant my experience was (and there were quite a few that asked, I probably needed to add an extra couple of hours to the projected daily walk times for the amount of chatting I did en route). Sadly for now it’s back to work, with the happy memories already fading. Luckily I have the 1000+ photos to enjoy whenever I need reminding. Until next time, keep up the great work and thanks again for everything

Fantastic experience: I'm happy to post this and rate publicly because Walk the Trail's service across my 440 miles of the SWCP (so far!) has been outstanding. The quality of the accommodation they've found for me along with the baggage service demonstrates clearly that they know exactly what walkers want and need on holidays like this. Bring on next year and my final journey on the SWCP to the end, through Walk the Trail of course.

Fantastic experience: I have used Walk the Trail to complete the Southwest Coastal Path. Unfortunately I only discovered them after having covered maybe a third of the path using my own research, making my own overnight bookings and carrying a large backpack. For the remainder of the path, however, I have used Walk the Trail for 4 multi-day sections of the path. This has taken all of the hassle out of walk planning. The lodgings without exception have been good and in some cases quite excellent. The luggage transfer service has functioned faultlessly - walking with a small day-pack rather than a heavy rucksack is, of course, much more pleasurable. The practical support has also been good e.g. tips on where to get laundry done, texted weather warnings whilst en route. I can definitely recommend Linda, Mike & Co to anybody tackling the SWCP.

Fantastic experience: If you are thinking about a walking holiday then look no further than Walk The Trail. They organised my 45 day, 630 mile, South West Coast Path walk and were helpful every step of the way, excuse the pun. Communication was fantastic with equal measures of professionalism, humour and detail. I am considering my next challenge and will be using Walk The Trail without a doubt.

Fantastic experience: We had spent many years holidaying in the South West with our children and grandchildren. It was in September 2017 when we first had the idea of walking the South West Coastal Path encouraged by walking friends who had done it in the 1990’s. We don’t how we initially came across Walk the Trail, it certainly doesn’t ‘hit you in the face’ when doing Google searches, but glad we did. We found their Web site impressive and easy to navigate. From the first tentative enquiries, they sent a lengthy reply which showed they had a very good grasp of what they did, together with valid suggestions. It was in May 2018 that we set out on the first leg with some trepidation with our own ability to ‘do the course’ and how WtT would shape up. By the end, in Westward Ho!, our fears came to nought on both counts. We completed a most enjoyable week without mishaps. WtT had arranged good accommodation which, with their personal holiday pack, we found with ease. Their sister company, Luggage Transfers, took excellent care of our cases and delivered to the correct places as they have done throughout. In May 2022 we completed the Path. A total of 47 days fantastic walking and travelling 690 miles (which included diversions and detours). All with the expertise of WtT who had given us good and even some excellent accommodation. They take all the stress and hassle out of booking with their wealth of experience. A task we would find impossible to obtain to the same standard and retaining our sanity. All we needed to do was get ourselves there and back, sort out some eating places, and enjoy the walking. We liked it so much we are starting again this September2022. Just doing our favourite bits, which is more or less all of it, using, who else, but WtT who are able to adjust itineraries accordingly to suit our needs. An ability which they have shown throughout. Over the years, we have built up a very good rapport and affinity with Linda (who has quite a ‘turn of wit’) and the team. When we got our Certificate for completing the Path, we asked the team to sign it for us as they were so integral to the success of our achievement. Our star rating is 5+. They are extremely good at the job, working hard and efficiently. Even through the Covid crisis to pull out ‘all the stops’ making last minute changes to re-book our holiday dates at short notice. We cannot fault them at all.

Fantastic experience: The beauty of the natural environment kept us stunned and in a perpetual state of wonder for our two walks (Westward Ho to Newquay and St. Ives to Penzance). WTT made everything so easy with both accommodations and transfers. Smooth as glass. Do, however, expect the quality and comfort of the accommodations to vary a bit from village to village. (It adds to the adventure!) We plan on using WTT on our next walking adventure in UK and we are looking forward to it!

Fantastic experience: This walk on the Southwest Coast Path (May 6-19 2022) was our second booking with Walk the Trail. Linda and the entire Walk the Trail team did a great job arranging our (covid delayed) SWCP walk from Penzance to Plymouth! As always, communications were clear and timely, and our walking packet contained detailed information about our walk and accommodations. Linda even kept an eye on the weather and forwarded an alert when high winds were predicted. Our accommodations were great, and baggage transfers were reliable and timely. All said, we'd book again... Indeed, we already have!

Andy Longden 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: We've just finished the SWCP after booking all four two-week stages with Walk the Trail. As I've commented before the service has been exceptional. Firstly, the itineraries have been well compiled, taking account of our preferences. Accommodation has been excellent, with any minor glitches dealt with firmly! Luggage transfers have been faultless over 8 weeks of hiking, which represents exceptional logistics. And throughout, there is always contact in case of inclement weather or emergencies. We know from talking to other walkers that Walk the Trail offers superior and better located accommodations than other companies - with most being directly on the Trail itself (which makes a big difference at the end of a long day). We wouldn't go anywhere else for a walking holiday featured by Walk the Trail.

Lydia Schilling 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: We did two walks, 6 nights Penzance to Falmouth and 8 nights on the Dales Way. All our accommodations were excellent. They weren’t flawless but all were fine B&Bs or pubs with good rooms and excellent service and food, likely better than we would have found ourselves. Luggage transfers all went well. We only had one snafu, when the Halston ferry was unexpectedly not running. We called Walk the Trail and they got us a cab very quickly. The fare must have been considerable, but we don’t know how much because Walk the Trail covered it. We hope to do another walk soon and we’ll use them again for sure.
