Negative experience: If I could put 0 stars I would. Absolutely horrendous service all round. Never one to waste time writing poor reviews normally, however this has really wound me up and I wouldn’t want anyone else to experience what we did. We booked a taxi to take us to Cardiff for a bottomless brunch we paid a £220 deposit for. The taxi was nearly an hours late (50 mins) with absolutely zero communication. We rang several time with no answer. When they eventually answered there was very little by the means of an apology, just that they were nearly there. By the time they arrived we had already missed the start of our brunch. When we arrived at the venue we were unable to have our table as it had been given to someone else as we were past the cut off time of lateness. If this wasn’t bad enough, we had also booked a return trip. We were left standing on the side of the road for 30 mins in the rain at 1am. Again with no communication from the company or the driver. We were calling and calling and our calls were just being ignored. We had no idea if the taxi was even going to show up and had even called friends and family in the early hours to see if they pick us up as we thought we’d be stranded with no way home. When the driver eventually arrived, her attitude was not what you’d expect. Very direct and cold with little sympathy and a half arsed apology. She also said she didn’t see our calls coming though but while on the way home we were watching her phone light up with multiple calls, clearly from other disgruntled customers that she was simply declining. Shocking behaviour. We communicated with the business owner and again his attitude was not acceptable. He begrudgingly agreed to give us a partial refund of £10 per person, which is what we had asked for. He then dodged our calls and messages for 2 weeks. Then he sent a text revoking the refund he had agreed to previously and blocked our lead booker (laughable from a grown man and business owner). The company is obviously taking on more jobs than they can manage due to greed and need to reevaluate their priorities. I will never use this company again and would urge others to avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: From initial contact to arrange airport transfers to Cardiff Airport communication has been fantastic. We had two female drivers who were extremely friendly & made the experience of getting to and fro the airport not only relaxing but enjoyable both very personable and extremely helpful & polite. Even with a delay on our return, they tracked the flight to make sure they were there for us. We had minibuses both times as a party of 6 on the way out & 5 on our return both cars were spotless and clean. Thankyou for great service would definitely recommend & use again.

They were all impressed at the punctuality, cleanliness and comfort of the vehicles and the friendliness of the drivers. Definitely went above and beyond. James Taxis is my first choice every time.

Negative experience: Absolutely appalled to see one of James taxis (black Skoda Octavia) driving well over the speed limit and wheel spinning in our busy residential road this evening. A crossing child wouldn't have stood a chance. Neighbours currently pulling off CCTV to submit to the police. Very disappointed as don't expect it off local company.

Negative experience: I hate leaving bad reviews. I didn't get to use their services because the app would not recognise addresses I tried for pick up and when I tried to call the phone just rang off the hook. I am disabled and now in agony because the only way I could get back into Porthcawl from Trecco Bay was to walk (and other taxi company phones rang off the hook as well) it has taken me over an hour to walk the 1 mile from the pain and I really needed James Taxis. I think they rejected my fare because it was a short journey Why else would someone want to pay £6 to go a mile? - either disabled and can't do it like me or have lots of luggage. I am now going to be lucky if I don't need Morphine. Poor show. How can you run a taxi company when no one answers the phone.

Negative experience: Phoned up for a taxi last Saturday afternoon to take us back to trecco bay holiday park from hi-tide pub in porthcawl, and asked if they would take a small dog was told that they had a total no dog policy within their company and then hung up Not very professional or polite and what happened if someone with a guide dog phoned these for a taxi ???

Fantastic experience: Today I said a sad farewell to my dearest friend of 40yrs. Because of Covid restrictions I had to attend the funeral alone and I hate driving. The funersl and wake was over 30 miles from my home. I chose James Taxis to take me to Cardiff and back, we were caught up in an incident on the M4 which delayed our journey, but thankfully, due to a beautiful air conditioned car and the amazing driver I arrived on time, unflustered. I had not booked a return time , but my taxi arrived within 30 minutes of my request , the driver who's name I am sorry didn't get was so kind , and chatted all the way home. Thank you James Taxis for making today not just bearable but "pleasant" . PS the cost was far cheaper than others U was quoted. Kay Lewis

Fantastic experience: Booked James Taxi for our 2 way journey to Sarn servise to catch our coach to Disney on Wednesday, our 6am pick up was on time and the driver was so friendly and helpful, totally felt at ease. Our return journey on Saturday was met with major delays due to ferries from calais bei g cancelled due to bad weather, Jones Taxi was in constant contact on out progress to ensure they were able to pick us up, after what can only be described as the journey from hell Abbi our driver met us at 4am with a huge smile, so chatty and helpful she was an absolute delight, highly recommended and will definitely be using them every time I need a taxi.

Negative experience: Called earlier today, did not take name but said he’d pick us up. No show. Leaving my elderly mother out in very cold conditions as a result. Avoid! I should have worried as he didn’t take my name but said January’s are quiet. I don’t understand how they get such good reviews.
