Negative experience: Out of all the years of going here and other haven parks never had many problems, but this stay was horrendous we left early avoid silver caravans

Negative experience: Arrival Issues:** Upon arrival, we discovered that the heating in the caravan was not working and remained off for quite some time. This caused significant discomfort, especially for my asthmatic partner, as well as for my two young children and my 6-month-old baby, who were left in cold conditions. For my partner, who has a history of severe asthma, cold air is a well-known trigger that can exacerbate symptoms. Given these health risks, this issue should have been addressed before our arrival to ensure the caravan was properly prepared and suitable for occupancy. **Incident at Aqua Inflatables:** During our visit to the aqua inflatables, my sister-in-law experienced heart palpitations and sought help from your first aid team. Shockingly, no one offered her any assistance or even something as basic as water. When I informed a lifeguard that she was lying on the floor unwell and asked if I could take the children with me, he showed no concern whatsoever. It is unacceptable that a trained team displayed such disregard for a clear medical emergency. **Appalling Security and First Aid Response:** The most alarming incident occurred when my partner, Lewis, suffered an asthma attack during our stay. Asthma attacks can be life-threatening, especially for individuals with severe asthma, as in Lewis’s case. Asthma can lead to a sudden inability to breathe, and without prompt intervention, it can quickly escalate into a critical emergency. My sister-in-law, who is a nurse, attempted to leave the entertainment area to get him some water, but your security staff refused to allow it, even after being told why. She then sought first aid help and was directed to the security team, who informed her that they were also the first aid team. When she asked if they had a nebuliser—an essential tool in treating asthma attacks—they were completely unprepared and unconcerned. Despite knowing Lewis was in respiratory distress, no one checked on him or offered help. After contacting NHS24, we managed to get Lewis to the Lighthouse Bar, but again, we encountered indifference. The staff member suggested calling security when we had already explained Lewis was suffering from an asthma attack. When we asked if it was possible to get a cart to take him to reception to get a taxi, as he was struggling to breathe, we were told, “No, those are for deliveries only.” This delay in getting him proper care could have had catastrophic consequences, as time is critical during an asthma attack. **Lack of Professionalism from Security:** While we were waiting for a taxi to take Lewis to the hospital, we witnessed a blatant display of unprofessionalism from your security team. A guard publicly confronted a group of teenagers about someone giving his friend "something dodgy to smoke," showing more concern for this situation than for Lewis, who was struggling to breathe. This lack of judgment and professionalism is disgraceful, especially when lives could be at risk. **Impact on the Children:** These incidents completely ruined our child and his cousin’s final night at Craig Tara. They were excited for their last evening of entertainment, but instead spent the night worried and upset about Lewis’s health. It was distressing for them to witness their father/uncle struggling to breathe and to see such chaos unfold around us. What should have been a fun and special family experience turned into a stressful and frightening situation. I am deeply appalled by the lack of care, urgency, and professionalism exhibited by your staff, particularly in the handling of medical emergencies. These incidents are unacceptable and could have had far more serious consequences. For a family resort of your size and reputation, this level of negligence is inexcusable.

Fantastic experience: The twin room was a bit crowded so not much room two move for enywone bit everything else was excellent service a the bonga wonga can take time because of a lot of people the location is great they even have a 97 bus that ends there and goes back to ayr bus station Overall I would say 10_10

Negative experience: Pretty low bar. Could do with some TLC. Ok for a weekend. Dog friendly.

Positive experience: **Day 1 Caravan Park Experience** Today marks the first day of my stay at the caravan park, and I’ve taken note of a few highlights and areas for improvement. **Facilities:** The astroturf area in the park is uneven and definitely in need of a facelift. It would enrich the overall atmosphere if more resources were allocated to upgrading the kids' play area, rather than focusing primarily on the bar next to it. **Dining Experience:** My experience at the onsite burger kitchen was disappointing. After placing a lengthy order, I discovered that none of the machines were operational, which resulted in a long wait. **Safety and Security:** There were routine checks on entertainment passes at the entrance, which gave me a sense of security. However, it might be beneficial to have a more consistent approach to checking passes, as there were two security personnel at the door. **Accommodation:** The caravan was clean, though not quite spotless. If you look closely, there's some noticeable grime, particularly in the fridge, which is somewhat off-putting. A more thorough cleaning would greatly enhance the overall experience. **Lighting and Navigation:** One significant concern was the lack of lighting throughout the site. This became particularly problematic when my wife got lost trying to navigate back to our caravan. Improving the overall lighting would not only enhance safety but also prevent guests from losing their way after dark. I’ll update with more observations as my stay progresses. Looking forward to Day 2!

Positive experience: There was extremely loud music playing right up until half 10 at night. Could feel the bass rattling the caravan. Noone loves robbie Williams that much

Positive experience: Good location plenty of activities but quite pricey plenty of food outlet's by far the best was chopsticks good value and generous portions tried to get lunch in the harbour bar but they don't serve food till after 2pm caravan Very clean and well equipped

Negative experience: Location of caravan park is gorgeous unfortunately the caravan we stopped in had maintenance issues took us 4 days to get someone to come out to look at the kitchen sink pipe which was not connected had to go to reception 3 times. Shower door fell off on me after being reported so partner had to fix for us. The park was very noisy on an night (after 11.30) and 2nd night someone smashed up their caravan at midnight not the best experience with young kids. We have been to Craig Tara before and it was lovely but it has seriously gone down hill. We will not return.

Positive experience: Was here for the open golf tournament as a working/ visit. I didn’t use any of the parks facilities as I was working early and returning late. So my review it based solely on the actual accommodation and not the full park itself. The accommodation was great, clean and well presented. All bedding and furniture were in great condition. Definitely will return

Fantastic experience: Fun-filled Experience

Negative experience: This was the worst family holiday we've ever been on, the caravan we got put into was not the same on the plan we got, the caravan also had not been cleaned prior to us turning up, so we had to clean it ourselves, there was loads of faults in the caravan which we had to report, the feet for the caravan had to be sorted aswell as the caravan was moving alot. The entertainment centre is really run down. It's like there's very minimal maintenance , also has got very expensive. WILL NOT BE BACK, WORST PLACE EVER.

Fantastic experience: Great for a family holiday. Young kids have a blast. If we had the weather it would have been the best yet. Staff were great amd friendly.

Fantastic experience: Loads of activities, plenty to do for the entire week. We stayed in a saver caravan. It was small, but there was enough room for us 4.

Negative experience: average experience, you need strong luck to get good accommodation and services. Make sure to record staff name bcoz you will be asked to whom you spoke if you raise formal online complain.

Positive experience: 4 days away and we had an amazing time. We only booked a saver caravan and although it was very compact it had everything we needed and the beds were unbelievably comfortable

Positive experience: It's definitely a struggle with a small kid under 2 years old and if the weather is bad then the holidays basically amusement arcade, not too good unless it's warm

Positive experience: Caravan was good, in a nice location with sea view. Beds let it down. Most uncomfortable, with springs digging into you. Then we realised mattress had been turned as it was filthy, and badly stained on other side with blood etc.

Positive experience: We stayed in a bronze caravan, and it was clean. The decor was a bit tired but there was nothing to complain about. We did pay for a bed guard and a high chair for our son, but it wasn't there, so we called through to reception they sorted that out within half an hour, what I would say is I'm surprised the cooker didn't have a safety cut out that I could find, my son thought it was a fantastic idea to play with the cooker nobs an the gas kept coming on. We went swimming, and the changing rooms were freezing toddlers. we're crying constantly, which wasn't pleasant, didn't go back, spoke to one of the staff who said oh sorry the heating is just getting warmed up. This was midday! The day after going swimming, my son became poorly, my husband goes to reception and asks if they have a local walk-in centre as our child is that unwell he got looked at as if he was an alien so asks for an A&E department just go into Ayr an given a number (thankfully he did improve) so I slept In his room that night with him to monitor him, I know these beds are ideally for children but I was actually in pain from it! (On leaving an stripping the beds as requested I realise why it's a crib mattress ‍♀️). We decided to leave the next day as my son was still poorly an needed him to be seen by our local services The staff all looked like they would rather be elsewhere

Positive experience: Not a happy experience for us, very noisy at night, we had a silver caravan that was clean, but poorly equipped, the fridge had not been turned on, there was no pressure in the boiler so the heating didn't work, luckily we had a caravan so my husband could rectify this issue, no light bulb in the bathroom, reported twice but still not done when we left, put the dishwasher on the 2nd night there, went out for a walk came back to the caravan flooded, phoned out of hours service who bought us a bag of white bath towels to mop it up with, told us to put towels outside, no offer of help to clear up, reported to reception next day, lovely girl on reception, but she did not have a clue!!! That was also still untouched when we left, there were plenty of staff on hand but if they don't know what they are doing what's the point, first and last Haven Holiday for us.

Positive experience: Plenty to do especially if you have 'children'

Positive experience: Cannot fault the caravan, was lovely. What ruined the holiday was we were not told to book activities in advance so went to caravan and basically walked around

Positive experience: Stayed in a lovely caravan looking out to the beach. Wasn't that far to the beach so went for a walk along the beach nearly every day. There was lots of jellyfish scattered along the beach which we had to be careful incase little one touched them. In the main complex there is a lovely little play area for little ones as well as big ones. They even have a sand pit for children to play in. The only thing I would say is if you want to go swimming or watch the entertainment then purchase a play pass before you arrive. We first asked if we could have a day pass but they said they no longer do them anymore so we asked to purchase a play pass but we're told that we needed to purchase them before hand. Feel like they missed out on making some money there. Also on our last day before we left we ordered Papa John's to make things easier and it arrived nearly 40 minutes late and was barely warm.

Positive experience: Silver caravans fine but 90% of bronze should be renovated or crushed

Positive experience: Honest family fun, my kids love this place and ask to go every year. Caravans are generally ok, not spotless but ok, our bed was missing some slats (I saw a review from another user who stayed in the same caravan reporting the same problem, so looks like they're not great at sorting these things!) There's plenty to do with young children, and plenty of places to eat and drink while they play, I'd recommend coming when the schools are on for a more relaxing experience.

Fantastic experience: Such a beautiful and ecstatic place. The rooms are small but cozy. Sitting room and dining are 5 Stars

Negative experience: Brigs of Ayr worst ever restaurant, ordered sunday dinner charged full price, half the food wasnt on plate but still charged full price for the food we didn't get and wasnt informed when ordering that they didnt have it, when we asked about the missing food we where told none left, only being 2 hrs into lunch during peek season? the food we did did get was hard and under cooked or burnt. We asked to speak to manager and was told we need to go to him and complain as he didnt want to speak to us. (Badesh is his name) When we did speak to him he was very hostile and aggressive and unsympathetic to us shouting loudly at us"what you want me to do about it?" No customer service skills whatsoever and embarrassingly very rude to us, Also couldn't get in for breakfast for 2 people,  place was just open  @9.30 am just 4 people in it, told no walk ins, also fire doors at stairs still locked when venue open is illegal. I work for Scottish government office and will be discussing all these issues with Ayrsire MPs. Holiday ruined by a manager that should never been employed in first place.

Positive experience: Caravan was quite clean, some stains on the carpet, kitchen window handle broken.

Negative experience: Dirty. expensive . crowded. Had human waste on bedroom floor on arrival took 2 days to clean it up door broken tv broken radiator broken wet room dirty and stunk of piss. Mattresses piss stained came home early

Positive experience: My children love coming here but very expensive tho, also we checked in between 2pm and 3pm on the first day I think when you are leaving you need to leave caravan at 10am which I think is rubbish you should leave the same time you checked it as your first day is wasted and you are paying from that day

Fantastic experience: Pathway to caravan is very overgrown and small potholes on pathway very dangerous for disabled visitors who use sticks I mention this every year and for the last 5yrs ive been told it will be sorted in the closed season but its never been sorted Drains absolutely stink on way to caravan too Great service from the crazy golf staff No phone or wifi signals unless you are in the main area You would think in this day and age wifi would be readily available... even at a cost as most folk would pay for that service ... but no widespread wifi available ‍♀️

Positive experience: Nice enough spot, my kids loved it. The noise of seagulls on the roof of the caravan through the night was shocking, sounded like one of them was on a skateboard. The outdoor seating was covered in bird poo. Looked like the seagulls had been allowed to nest and breed on one of the nearby caravan roofs. So were moving young around constantly. The caravan itself was clean enough. Quite a few of the machines in the arcade were not working also. The eating places kept running out of food such as kids pizzas.

Negative experience: We had private hired caravan never again lots of things didnt work they were called m&m caravans so beware they wanted cash . So no come back tv wasnt work no lights in toilet toaster either brokin . . Then she asked if we wanted passes to get into diffrent veneus charged us 50 pound s we went to them and didnt need passes so was ripped off . The caravan was 71 bay view . Could get sleep as was all young family kid were flinging bread on our roof early in morning and we were wakin with seaguls running sqauking . So sorry i wont be back

Fantastic experience: Caravan was first class the only thing about Craig Tara is arcade u win tickets out of machines and go to shop to change them into gifts which are total tat so I think gifts u can change from Ur tickets is a rip off

Negative experience: Well we have been all round the coast staying in some fantastic Haven sites and leaving 5* reviews. But this was the furthest away a 7 hr drive and what a massive disappointment a filthy older van with curtains that didn't meet in the middle or outsides so no privacy when the light was on and the shower opened onto the main door with no curtain at all. Around the toilet was disgusting and hadn't been cleaned properly for ages. The door to one of the bedrooms wouldn't open so we have no idea what was in it and the smell in the sitting area was nauseous. On the positive it was a lovely quiet site with lots of greenery and access to the beech was easy.

Positive experience: Caravan was good. Could have been cleaner. Comfy bed, lovely sheets. No mattress protector. Side of toilet bowls unclean. Good venue for family.

Negative experience: Building site behind the caravan, noise from 7am. So much for a quiet holiday. If you're coming don't accept up the hill. They are building where tourers went.

Positive experience: Staying in the apartments, there is no cell service for three, o², or tescos. Wifi is also not available, so all bookings on the apps need to be made at the attractions. The food in the main restaurant was very dry, and the hunter chicken was not even scaused. Definitely let standards slip since our visit last year. Grounds were spotless, and all staff were fabulous. Also, have two new slides in the pool if you're 1.2m tall.

Positive experience: The caravan was run down and dirty on arrival. Repairs were made the following day when it was revealed the caravan was in fact 7 years old. Silver no longer means a good service. Very expensive for such a let down.

Positive experience: Lost my pass to get into the entertainment complex asked security guy if ok to get in as I had been to the reception but was to late in the day to get a new 1 but insisted that I needed a pass I even offered to show him my haven reservation number but he wouldn't take so it has put me off going back there now

Negative experience: Caravan 204 kintyre view was modern and nice on first impression, only in the caravan for 5 mins and started to see the dirt. Guy that checked us in said the Hoover wasn’t working, I was horrified that I was expected to stay in someone else’s dirt. The beds had no mattress pillow protectors. The bed sheet wasn’t even tucked into the mattress just thrown on the bed. The whole place just felt grubby and unclean. The loo brush has feaces on it and the shower needed a good scrub with bleach , still a few hairs from previous guest. Disappointed as the caravan had potential but the lack of cleaning let it down badly. I won’t be back or recommending

Positive experience: Nice clean and well equipped caravan, we all enjoyed our stay, but it is an expensive place to stay, the shop is overpriced, tge meals and drinks are expensive. Other than that I would recommend it for a short stay, Friday to Monday

Positive experience: This could be an amazing park, however I know it's a busy time as it's summer,but the amount of dog poo on the grass and play area's was terrible,also the main restaurant windows were covered in seagull poo and sand , seagulls attacking you if you try and eat in any of the picnic tables.go karts on the paths which is totally unessential as there are roads all around the park,and large groups of teenagers untill late at night running around the caravans,I wouldn't go again when it's so busy ,but would certainly go when it's not so busy .kids entertainment in the afternoon was poor too ,one mascot dancing to a young lady singing songs ,that none of the kids would know ,but 3 stalls selling things that appeal to kids , vending machines only for drinks if you fancy paying £2 for s warm bottle of coke .beach is beautiful,but the litter is awful. Beautiful sunsets

Fantastic experience: Loved the holiday caravans were really nice. So worth the visit with so much to do.

Positive experience: We stayed here for a week in July, overall the site was well equipped and tidy. The entertainment passes we bought didn't really give us access to much more than what was available as standard and almost all activities carried an extra charge anyway. The accomdation itself was clean but lacked many basics that would have made the stay more comfortable, toilet brush, tin opener, dust pan and brush etc. The sofas were thread bare and discoloured and one of the windows in the kids room didn't lock. Their plug socket was also cracked which was dangerous. Overall it was ok but I would think long and hard before returning to a haven site in future.

Negative experience: It's not possible to give a 0 star rating otherwise I would. This was our 5th visit to Craig Tara and every other visit has left us wanting to come back for more. Not only was it vague for money but a great time was had by all. Coming out of covid regulations and currently in the middle of a cost of living crisis you would have thought Haven would go over and above to get the visitors back but it seems all they want to do is drain you of every penny they can as well as change everything about how the park and activities operate in order to ensure you don't want to come back. Check in and arrival - we rented a van privately, which is a known dislike for Haven, so we expected to be treated differently but this was a new level. Prior to to arrival we received communication telling us what our check in time slot was, to arrive at the van and check in online. On arrival at Craig Tara nobody was there to tell yiu anything and the gates were open. Staff and the seaside squad characters were wandering around and waving at everyone bit mobody was keeping new arrivals informed of what they needed to do. We passed a tiny cabin next to the road labelled check in point where some cars are pulling in and others are passing it by. As we have been told to check in once we are at the van we assume we dont havr to go to the chceck in point. We found our van and checked in as requested and an email was received saying thank you for checking in. So we unpack and go to do our food shop for the week. Upon arriving back at the site we join a longer queue of traffic with someone standing in the middle of the road stopping anyone from passing the check in point. We were less than politely informed that we had to visit the check in point despite having checked in online over 3 hours earlier. After waiting in the queue to complete this pointless exercise we are permitted to go to our van with our shopping. Activity passes and booking activities - One of the main reasons on we loved coming to Craig Tara was the value for money. Accommodation was reasonably priced, even when booking through Haven directly, and the activities were no more expensive than you would expect in a location where they have a captive audience so to speak. The communication on how to book activities was clear as were the opening and closing times of places like the pool and the time that entertainments would be on in the lounges. It has now all changed and not for the better. Play passes as they are now called are required to undertake any of the activities, go swimming and have access to the lounges. This is no different than before. The difference is the price has risen steeply. 2 adult and 2 child passes this year cost £136. Adding in the cost of activities for 2 kids and you're easily between £150 and £200 for 4 days activities along with the "permission" to access the lounges. Organisation for booking an activity that was not online prior to arrival was also a shambles. Within 4 hours of arriving there were no bookable slots for swimming for 2 days. This is because its not clear how you actually book the swimming. You have to go to the activity hub where staff are harassed by frustrated parents at the lack of communication and organisation from Haven before having to tell very excited children that they can't go swimming for days at which point very public meltdowns take place. There's also the matter of a deposit being required for some activities that are booked online, which apparently is in the T&C's but written very very small. Even the staff acknowledged it needs to be more obvious and they are asking management to get it made more visible. Tells you something is not right when staff are agreeing with customers. Good bye Craig Tara, thsn you for the pre-pandemic memories. Its not the farewell we would have wanted but nicer holidays with better memories can be had for lower prices and less hassle so these will be investigated for next summer.

Positive experience: Gave 4 stars because the swimming pool didn't have all the slides open and the soft play area was closed on three different days and times that we went so didn't get to use it. Other than that it was really good.

Fantastic experience: Good place for kids and adults got bit expensive for people with 2.or 3 more kids as passes have got price added to them caravans have a bit of moaning about them from people but not found problem with them myself on another note my young niece fell ill and staff rallied round and got ambulance and medical staff on point to get her to hospital cant thank staff and medical staff enough for looking after us so massive 5 starrs review many thanks

Fantastic experience: We stayed here,using it as a base for exploring the area. Our Bronze caravan was very clean, well equipped and about 2 minutes walk from the beautiful beach,which is a mixture of sandy, bucket and spade beach and rockpools for exploring.... Kids will love this beach! Our caravan was privately owned and had its own great broadband connection and a Netflix account.

Negative experience: £4 odds for a pint and no pool cues and the place is a bit run down paint wise and not very clean has brush for caravan but no shovel so pointless.

Positive experience: Fabulous caravan, great location. We have a dog friendly silver caravan. Extremely comfortable, great views in the quiet spot we are in. One of our best ever holiday locations. The park is fairly quiet and we don't visit the entertainments etc. We enjoy the beach and the area. The only reason there aren't 5 stars 're that the caravan was advertised as having a blue tooth speaker and 40 inch TV on the lounge. There is no blue tooth speaker and a much smaller TV. It's n9t affecting our holiday, but really things should be as advertised. On query, hubby was informed simply that they have taken them away. Outside of that, a cracking caravan and location for our 2 weeks in Ayreshire. We came for a week last September in upgraded standard caravan. We wouldn't stay in that level of accommodation again, although it was perfectly adequate but basic and this is just sooooo looovvverly. We were a bit concerned given reviews over Easter. Seems like school holidays can be carnage. We will come again, out of season.

Positive experience: Park is great for kids although caravan cleanliness was shocking had to run after cleaners to get a shot of a hoover, spent a few hours cleaning it before we moved in

Positive experience: It was OK for weekend but not for any longer. The chalets are great if your with large family or friends. Needs more evenings events.

Positive experience: Brilliant trip away for the family, plenty to do, swimming, arcades,parks, night entertainment/shows for the kids at the bars. Nice restaurant also but even if you want something quick has a Burger King and a papa johns. 3rd time here, think caravans are you get what you pay for, ours have always been lovely!

Positive experience: Enjoyed my time here. Lots of things to do for kids and keep them entertained. There is a papa johns and burger king as well as the main restaraunt which we ate once at and was ok. My one gripe is the lack of Internet within the apartment we were in which seemed to be a common gripe with most of the parents I met. Although there is WiFi within the main building. Overall kids had fun which is the main thing.

Fantastic experience: great time a bit of weather never hurt the staff were amazing would remcomend.

Negative experience: Too crowded and definitely not adhering to covid cleanliness levels. Our van had a missing blind which had been left lying in the doorway, a door which did not fit and kept blocking the hallway and mould on the walls and curtains in the main room!

Fantastic experience: Just returned back from a 4 night, Monday-Friday stay at Craig Tara, travelling as a couple with our dog - and had a great time. After reading some less than positive reviews on Trip Advisor, one in particular about the exact caravan we had - I was a little wary but looking forward to it none the less. We actually booked through Ayr123.co.uk as Haven was fully sold out for dog friendly 'vans - and we chose Muirfield 25, as previously mentioned I read a review on TA which claimed it was dirty - I'm not sure if this person was staying in a completely different caravan to me or what - it was spotlessly clean, hand sanitizers in each bathroom and the kitchen and the cutlery, cups, plates and cooking utensils immaculate. The bed was comfy, TV of decent size, the shower hot and powerful and felt spacious coupled with the good size wrap around decking. The caravan was also ideally placed, right on the end of a row, in quiet Muirfield Close at the east of the park - only overlooking grass, plants and the sea. I could not fault the caravan one bit. If anyone is looking at this caravan I would say don't worry, and book it. If going to Craig Tara - I can fully recommend booking via Ayr123 - as the whole procedure from booking, to check in to check out was excellent. We will be returning here and will be using Ayr123 again.

Positive experience: Good facilities some challets look like puntin but ok same with caravans some are OK smelt of smoking, good for families and children not for quite time. Not my copa tea far too busy.

Fantastic experience: Loved this holiday. Super clean and friendly. The activities were too expensive but the food was great and the pool was awesome, in it everyday! The right hand slide is so fast, adults take off!! I came out with a bruise on my shoulder and head lmao

Positive experience: The site is clean and maintained that way. All staff, in every department, are attentive, friendly and approachable. Good range of facilities for all ages. Swimming complex is very good, very well attended, very clean and well organised. Hour sessions probably too short but understand this during these pandemic times. Food range and outlets are good and prices are not raised. Delivery is available. Good aspect with direct access to a decent beach, shallow water makes ideal swimming. Stayed in a Prestige caravan, good choice, veranda with sea view. Could do with double the cutlery and crockery to make good use of the dishwasher! Impressed with security who responded quickly to resolve an issue.

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic time in the caravan park. Lots of things to do and see. Kids had a ball in the arcade. Lots of tickets won. So much fun

Fantastic experience: I would recommend this site for a long weekend. There is a lot of activities for the kids. The only down side is if you have hired a private let it cost a lot to book the activities. I would say to book one of the sites accommodation to save on activities.
