Negative experience: Good if you need to go somewhere and you ain't got a car.
Negative experience: Their drivers think they own the road and think they can bully people off the road when its not their right of way just pulls out on you and makes you have to mount the curb

Negative experience: A bus driver today dropped a church group off at Castell Coch and began aggressively verbally abusing me over my disabled child stimming by his bus tyre. My son is autistic and I was fully in control of him, holding onto his reigns and standing with him. The bus driver was aggressive and rude demanding we move from the bus. We did so straight away, to avoid confrontation but he continued to be aggressive, shouting over to us when we had moved away. I told him it's not appropriate to be shouting at a woman and in front of children and to be polite but he came back a further 3 times continuing to verbally abuse us, even with me telling him to leave us alone numerous times. He even came back as we were trying to go back in the castle to get away from him. He has scared both the children and caused my son to have a meltdown due to him continuously shouting at us and we've ended up having to go home due to how distressing this experience was. I have left there shaking and it's absolutely ridiculous how he has acted. He clearly has anger control issues and should not be driving members of the public.

After speaking with both the driver and the party organiser onboard the vehicle it has come to light that your child had put his head in between the wheel and the arch near a very hot braking system which is very dangerous, the driver noticed and quickly reacted to the situation

I noticed a commotion between *** and a visitor at the castle, the lady's attitude and demeanor was altogether rude and self entitled. I could see that Bryn was trying to be responsible in his position.
I believe the situation was handled well on **** part and he was a respectful and professional driver who, in my opinion, was not in the wrong.

Positive experience: Anslow coach trips are very good and the drivers in general are very helpful. I would have given five stars but I feel the booking process could be better. The main problem is that they don't accept credit cards. Yo do so is of very little or no cost to the company, but the convenience to the customer is huge. Come on Anslow please accept credit cards.
Fantastic experience: Regularly travel on the x1 between Brynmawr and Abertillery for work and wouldn't use anyone else, drivers are polite and friendly and the buses run like clockwork, buses are clean and well presented also. Have also been on one of they're day trips to Weymouth and the driver was fabulous and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Top notch company.
Negative experience: First time using your Bus service never again such an inpatient driver !
Negative experience: £5.10 for a single ticket from Tintern Old Station to Chepstow Bus Station. A journey of just 6.5 miles. Works out at over 78p per mile. Absolutely ridiculous and a total rip off.
Fantastic experience: Great service from Phil Anslow Coaches today for our Cubs trip to All Wales Cubs Fun Day at Builth Wells. Very helpful and friendly driver. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely clean coach too. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely day today at St Fagans and the Bay the driver was really lovely and friendly, I would recommend that you go to Barry instead of the Bay though not really much to do for 2 and half hours down the bay

Fantastic experience: Hired a coach to take The Risca Senior Citizens Club members to Brecon and Raglan Garden Centre on the way home. We had a wonderful day out. Our driver, Bryn, who we know quite well, was his usual helpful, polite and informative self. In fact, we usually ask if we can have him. The coach was lovely and comfortable and, as always beautifully clean. We used Phil Anslow for a few years to take our members on trips and will continue to do so. Can't recommend this company enough.
Fantastic experience: Great bus service, always reliable, on the few occasions I have rang the depot or customer service. The staff have been more than helpful and certainly go above and beyond to be of help. Myself friends and relatives regularly use the X1 service from Brynmawr to Cwmbran, and have done since it has been running. As before then anyone from bleanau gwent from Brynmawr to llanhilleth, has had to catch two buses each way to get to Cwmbran. One from Brynmawr to llanhilleth and then one to Cwmbran. As we know stagecoach did put one on about two years in just to try to get the monopoly back. Well done to Phil Anslow for sticking with us. Big shout out to the driver's of the X1 all friendly and characters all the x24 service and driver's I know there are many more it's just these we use regularly. I didn't usually make the time or the effort to write reviews. Yet it seems that a lot of people moan about the bad things but never thank those who do good. Here's to starting a new trend, and thanks again to Phil Anslow and all the people who works to make his coaches a pleasure to go on. Ps,just for the doubters. I am not related to Phil Anslow and or any of his family friends or staff members . ( as far as I am aware ) that said. Keep up the good work, it is very much appreciated

Negative experience: Still not had reply to my query. Maybe due to covid? I dont know.
Negative experience: They changed the bus timetable but did not tell google. Stuck in Monmouth as their buses now finish at 16:10 and not 18:10 despite every search on the net saying 18:10… So a day trip cost our group £73 to get from Tintern to Monmouth…a one way ticket. Surely the drive could say remember the buses stop at 16:10…so there is no point in getting a day ticket…. Also why not change the timetable on the boards rather than stick a sticker over the timetable….
Negative experience: Absolute farce. Website says that the last bus back from Monmouth to Tintern is 18.10. The last bus is actually 16.10 which is communicated by sticker at the bus stop which is no use whatsoever at 18.00 in the evening. Woeful in this day and age that companies operate like this and think it is anyway acceptable.
Negative experience: Really difficult to find their current 'emergency' timetables unless you already know this is the company running the service - all others online show no hint they've changed. Ended up stuck for hours at both ends of a planned journey, took a taxi back one way rather than wait on the bus. In all fairness, when I called their number when a bus never arrived they were very apologetic for the confusion. Would just drive in future though, more fool us.
Fantastic experience: I would like to thank the drivers of the Wye Valley 69 and 63 service for all the kindness and friendliness they show to all the passengers especially the Disabled . I would also like to thank Stuart who was our driver when we went to Tenby on a day trip and am looking forward to going again soon.

Fantastic experience: A down to earth company run for the benefit of it's patrons, staff and their community - not simply to line it's own pockets. Their drivers are friendly, reliable and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure their passengers feel safe, comfortable and valued. I'm sure the last year or so has been difficult, as it has for everyone, but we all really miss the coach trips and can't wait for things to get back to normal so we can enjoy them again.

Fantastic experience: Hired a 53 seater with a driver and the service was excellent, could not fault the cleanliness and quality of the vehicle, definitely would use the company again for my coach hire or day trips. HIGHY RECOMMEND
Negative experience: Google shows their services running on Sundays, office closed on Sundays, traveling unsure if when they ran from chepstow to Monmouth. Not cool

Negative experience: The 30 bus from cwmbran to Blaenavon left at 4.06 should of pulled out at 10 past 4 will be making a full complaint a bout this service the x24 bus is better service by stage coach to Blaenavon this service is terrible never recommend this service to anyone i know should stay at the times they say their leaving but they don't they leave at 4.06 in sted of keeping to the wright time they pull out

Negative experience: If you plan a hike around the area and rely on Phil&Sons, DONT!! Stay in the city, less stressful! After a lovely hike from Chepstow, we arrived to Tintern at 5pm, to learn at sitting by the bus stop that the last 2 buses just not gonna happen. We left stranded there (our room reservations in monmouth) and I can assure you, there is NOTHING in Tintern to make the wait more comfy. A chap told us he just walked from Chepstow as Phil&sons already called it a day, and wished us good luck. (His wasnt a hike, he actually came from work.. ) We ended up getting a taxi what cost us £55 thanks Phil&sons. (And dont kid yourself, there are no taxis in Tintern, or the area really, we had to call one from Ross-on-Wye so that was an extra hour wait thank you very much. That guys name is Daves Taxis, he was cool, highly recommended) Honestly, dont visit the area if you rely on public transport.

If you visit our website you would of noticed that we are operating on emergency timetables since the pandemic began, we do advise to check timetables are correct before making your journey.
Negative experience: Really bumpy and dirty and got travel sick and I don't ever get travel sick. Driver went really fast and had to swerve away from cars quite dangerously.

Negative experience: I complained that the firm's drivers were driving without due care, especially by driving with only one hand on the steering wheel. The worst offender was a driver called Trevor who drove the entire distance from Monmouth to Abergavenny one-handed, including while crossing the A40 dual carriageway at Raglan. Whereas Newport Bus and Red and White both agreed this was an unacceptable and unsafe standard, Anslow seemed to think there was nothing wrong with their driving. For daring to complain they handed me a lifetime ban. No spirit of improvement in this company : they imagine themselves to be perfect, and are impervious to criticism. Outrageous of Phil Anslow to call this a 'fake review' . I suggest they look at their email records for September 2016 and subsequent weeks and months. No doubt they will now hastily delete these, given that denial is their default position.
Fantastic experience: Can't believe there's actually negative reviews on here, compared to the much bigger company, Stagecoach, I think Phil Anslow is much more professional and much cheaper to travel on, and also the drivers will do anything to help passengers.They simply go that step further to keep passengers happy unlike Stagecoach who honestly don't give a s*!t about passengers.

Fantastic experience: A big shout out to the bus driver of this #69 service from Chepstow to Tintern (13:15 on Tuesday 9th April 2019), who deftly steered the bus away from a large puddle outside Cancer Research in Monmouth to avoid soaking a pedestrian. Really thoughtful.
Negative experience: My son has to pay for the bus to get to school. So we buy a weekly ticket on a Monday for £16.60. This Monday afternoon my son had lost it bearing in mind it's only a small paper receipt. I rang to yell them hoping they would say it will be ok by no. They wouldn't honour it. It will now cost me around £36 this week for bus fare. I am a working single parent so that makes things difficult. I thought it was really unfair.
