Positive experience: Liked it and was nostalgic from the teletext day's on TV. It was cheap too which is even better. I think it became asian owned in the end and not sure why it went bust

Negative experience: on 07/30/2021 My family and I went on vacation to mallorca arriving at the hotel we found out that our reservation was canceled we called the company they said we were cancelled. My 2-year-old son fainted from fatigue. We stayed on the phone for 45 minutes and were not satisfied. We asked for help and our family sent money to pay what we had already paid to the Teletex holiday. It's been 3 days that we've been waiting for the return of our money and every time we call they ask for another 24 hours. You don't have respect.

Negative experience: Absolute joke fest of a company. When I originally booked the holiday I was told multiple times that there was no fee to amend/cancel the holiday. As it it turns out I am unable to travel due to work commitments. In order to claim on my holiday insurance I need a cancellation confirmation. I genuinely have lost count of the amount of hours I’ve wasted on the phone on hold while someone “looks into it” and then just hangs up. 50 minutes was the longest they kept me on hold. They’ve also ignored countless emails. It doesn’t help you have to deal with people who have the mental agility of a house brick. I would prefer to drink a flagon of nuclear waste whilst having my balls stapled to a table then deal with these incompetent, unprofessional thieves. The holiday insurance company informed me that they are “notoriously difficult to deal with”. This is the understatement of the last 20 billion years. I actually think I’ll have more success training a manatee in quantum physics. Avoid this company like you’d avoid taking your wife to meet Gene Simmons

Negative experience: Disgusting experience so far. Have been told since May that they would change our holiday to a different destination. Its now less than 4 weeks before we are supposed to travel and we are still none the wiser. Every time I call I'm fobbed off. I've emailed over 10 times and had not one response. I've been told on around 7-8 occasions I'd get a call within "3 working days" or "7 days" and have never had a call. I was even told whilst on a phone call that I'd get a call back within an hour, never called. They are threatening to cancel my holiday if I don't pay the balance yet I have no idea where I'm going and the cost of where I'm going. Someone has to do something about these cowboys.

Negative experience: I am putting this in for my best friend NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY their customer service is non existent, booked a holiday with them for July 2020 I was entitled to a refund, but after months trying to contact them I was pressured into excepting a new date for this holiday, I was assured I would receive £136 within seven days and this was in November 2020. This has still not happened!!!! Have been on holiday with many companies over the years and this is the worst company I have dealt with. S. Soper.......not a happy bunny.

Negative experience: NEVER USE THIS COMPANY When I booked a short break for my daughter and her friend, I think I asked the agent 6 times if not more, if the holiday is cancelled will I get a refund and i was promised there would be no issues Well go on Facebook and search for groups like TELETEXT HOLIDAYS T/A TRULY TRAVEL CLAIMS & REFUNDS where you will find 100's if not 1000's of people like me having issues getting a refund. If they do ever answer the phone the agents are very rude, Easy jet had cancelled the outbound flight and there was no other flight on that day therefore the holiday had to be cancelled, after sending 3 emails and many failed attempts to phone them someone eventually answered, his response was, the inbound flight is still going... i am not quite sure how customers are expected to catch a flight home when you haven't flown out there. I was then told I have to contact Easy jet myself to cancel the flights despite them being originally booked by TELETEXT, I phoned Easy jet who were very helpful and processed my refund immediately.. however I still haven't received my refund from TELETEXT... and neither have thousands of people like me. Negative experience: Awful. Diabolical. Rude. Stole my money. Due to covid could not go on a 3 night holiday as the country had declared 14 day quarantine to anyone who entered. That was last year. I have still not received a refund. I have rang many times and been cut off and emailed number of times only to be fobbed off with lies saying they will refund me. It has been a year. What a joke of a company. Will not give up though i will keep pestering until my money has been refunded!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: I would give 0 stars if I could. A word of warning, Do Not book a holiday with teletext holidays. We had our holiday cancelled last May due to COVID-19 situation. We were asked to be patient regarding a refund, which we were. After 3 months we chased the refund and were promised we would receive it in a couple of weeks. Chased again the next month, told the same again and again and again for 5 months. Have now applied to the courts to recover our money. Please Do Not use this company.

Negative experience: THEY ARE NOT REFUNDING FOR HOLIDAYS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID!!! I booked a holiday for October. It was cancelled by the operator. Was told by Teletext that I would not get a refund until January. The refused to email me confirmation that I was due a refund and would only send a text telling me my holiday was cancelled. I have called repeatedly to find out about my refund and I am just put on hold. Today I have been put on hold for over an hour so far. The service is appalling. After using them for at least the last 10 years to book my holidays I will never give them a penny of my money again. Do not book with them, if the holiday is cancelled you will not get your money refunded.

Negative experience: If I could give this company a minus I… If I could give this company a minus I would. Absolutely no customer care whatsoever. We booked through Teletext holidays who were brilliant to start with. Great at rebooking upon second lockdown but now, due to the introduction of PCR test we need to rearrange our holiday as flying out on 3rd January, we will struggle to get PCR test done. Trying to rearrange is an absolute joke!! Two weeks till departure and I've been trying almost four weeks to try and rearrange, same flight company same hotel. I keep getting through only to be cut off, put on hold for endless amounts of time. I have been promised callbacks which have never happened, I have been constantly put on hold then cut off! As soon as I mention amending I get put on hold waiting for the what I'm now starting to think is a non existent amendment team. I have filled in online amendment forms with no contact back as promised and I have emailed with no response. Online chat? What online chat? It doesn't exist. It's looking likely that we will lose our money purely because they are refusing to rearrange or choose to ignore me. It is my right as a consumer to rebook. Their answer to everything is put on hold which is probably costing me a fortune. You will not get away with this Teletext holidays or whoever you are! Negative experience: Do not use this travel agent. I booked a holiday in January to Cyprus for May 2020. The holiday was cancelled in May 2020 due to COVID 19 and the airline Jet2 swiftly refunded Teletext with the cost of the flight. I am still awaiting a refund today 2nd November 2020 despite them having my money for close to a year. This is not the way to keep customers and encouraging them to use you again. Negative experience: Prices shown are NOT what you pay! This site is a scam, they advertise low prices to lure you in but when it comes to booking they tell you that the room type is no longer available but there is another room available for £100+ more, or they'll offer you completely different hotels of lower rating for the same price. They even tried charging extra for baggage even though the airline website clearly stated baggage included, and they charged us for transefers when their own website says free transfers included. I would not use again and recommend other holidaymakers to avoid and try elsewhere to save yourself the hassle.

Negative experience: I booked a holiday back in February 2020 to travel at the end of March 2020. Due to Covid-19, everything got put on hold as countries were closing their airspace. TT refused to give me a refund eventhough I had made many calls, emails and live chats. On some occasions I was put on hold for a long time after which the phone would disconnect. The staff in some cases didn’t actually know there was a pandemic and countries were under lockdown, astonishing! Do they operate from a cave? Anyway, many people are going through the same issues. Negative experience: We have had a terrible time with Teletext. DO NOT BOOK with this organisation. Firstly our holiday was altered due to Thomas cook flights being cancelled. The company did not communicate with us proactively and cancelled our holiday but when we contacted them to enquire to the status claimed it was not cancelled in a ruse to make us re-book despite numerous attempts from our end to confirm its cancellation and receive a refund. We were then railroaded by pressured sales techniques into accepting a new holiday as our preferred hotel was suddenly not available to us. Covid hit and the company would not cancel yet again despite FCO guidelines; phone lines being cut off from their end, mis information offerred, left on hold and call terminated 45 mins later (you get the point) and finally to be told today that we must wait until the 1st July (apparently 1 month prior to departure) which incidently is 23rd July to be able to cancel... Another attempt obviously for them to avoid paying refund. Seemingly the 20th Feb 2020 was a GREAT day for Teletext for all of the amazing reviews posted on that day. Funnily enough I cannot post directly on their website! I must also stress that the call handler would not provide terms and references of the contract when asked to confirm our position. Negative experience: Avoid Teletext crooks at all costs!! Unprofessional, poor customer service, irresponsive. We suffered unaccounted and unexpected charges at the hotel which were non disclosed prior to the commencement of our all inclusive trip. We received an invoice totalling charges of 717.89 Moroccan Dirham for the 7 nights stay at Eden Andalou hotel (34.1 per night per person). This was a huge surprise and I was instructed to pay or have our hotel stay abandoned which put us in an intriguingly difficult position due to not having had the funds immediately or readily available. Ultimately from a customer experience perspective this was unacceptable and bad practise to not have been informed. Teletext took no initiative to warn us as a customer upfront and should instead haves advise us as customers that the fees are chargeable on arrival rather than included in the package price. - This was a huge setback to the holiday both financially and emotionally and I expect a full refund due to the misleading conduct and inconvenience. Negative experience: I have not received particularly good service from this company.. When I booked I was not told that they were just agents for other suppliers and in retrospect they did nothing that I could not have done myself. I was informed by Ned that everything was included in my all inclusive holiday booking with them, he stated no hidden charges, I had many long quiet spells on hold, waiting,for stuff to be checked, which did make me nervous but I continue..I paid with my card and got a confirmation email through but no documentation, as I was told that would be sent separately. Four days later, after 3 live chats with Sebastian (which must be a generic name as it was always him) and a telephone call to an automated number, I received the documentation..The flight transfer info was missing, so another live chat with Sebastian proceeded and was told I didn’t have any transfers as the weren’t included..no apology, no offer to see what could be done, just an automated response from a company who only speaks to you until you pay .. so sorry teletext holidays I won’t be using you again or giving you a good review. I have, for my own pieces mind, checked the booking myself with the airline and hotel, which do seem to have been booked, hence the single star for that bit. Well done for booking me in..

Negative experience: Update: Emailed the compliance department and they fixed the problem a day before travel. Called and asked the agent at their Indian call centre to beat a quote from another company, 30 minutes later they beat the quote by £10 so I booked with them. However, now I find they missed off the checked in bag, so I have to pay an extra £80 - making their price £60 more than the competitor that I should have booked with! The agent at the call centre was extremely unhelpful, and unapologetic, blaming me for not understanding the Ryanair policy! I had to pay a further £58.00 i have used teletext for years, NEVER AGAIN... Fantastic experience: We wanted to speak to someone regarding our holiday, and when we phoned, Eldrin helped us through brilliantly. He was extremely helpful, looking into costs of different flights, different dates, different airports etc. We never felt rushed and Eldrin was always very polite. Negative experience: Avoid at all costs! They sold me a holiday with a room that was completely unsuitable for our family. I was forced to pay to upgrade. When I got home I followed procedure and made a complaint by email and when they eventually replied some 60 days later, they completely avoided my argument and sent back generic replies over and over, taking a month to reply each time. Wouldn’t phone me to talk about it, their customer service is terrible. May be cheaper but this is the reason and not when you have to pay £100 to upgrade!

Contacting you today, to chase the refund up, you have now told me 4 weeks, on your live chat. To follow up the live chat discussion I called the customer service to speak to someone....they cut me off! I wasn’t being unreasonable but simple asking to put in a complaint. They won’t transfer my call to anyone. I will be incurring £450 in interest on my credit card for the holiday payment. This simply isn’t good enough. Negative experience: Totally disappointed with the service i received . After being recommended to use them and reading some good reviews i decided to book my holiday with teletext. DJ was the operator who assisted me, at 1st i felt he was helpful and got me a good deal but after the initial phone call and taking the money from my bank no one wanted to help or even know my concerns.. I was misled on a few occasions and the information provided at time of booking turned out to be false! Speaking to several operators i found them all to tell different stories! i was so frustrated with the service i decided i wanted to cancel my holiday only to be told that its not possible and there was no refund due! (after 6 hours of booking) I will be in touch with the ombudsman regarding this. I haven't went into detail with the complaint because its irrelevant i am purely pointing out that the customer service is shocking and to warn people to be careful when booking as the final price i was told was definitely not the final price!! Negative experience: Thought i would give them another chance after the disaster they caused in 2017. Booked a honeymoon with them this time round to Antalya. Asked for the best room from the 5 star hotel. Ritesh the advisor said he would put us in a suite... this suite being 3 stars compared to the main hotel as its an external building. Its a budget external building, not right for him to say the suite is an upgrade and paid more than what a basic room was in the same hotel. Also they got my partner down as the main booker when she didnt even call them or speak to them, they refused to change this till they spoke to someone who they never spoke to. Feel like the advisors are not sure as to what is going on. Best to book things individually yourself so your not paying for their mistakes. Teletext are refusing to rectify or even acknowledge this. Thank god for credit card charge backs. Always use credit card with these lot just in case something happens like this. God knows what i would have done if i had used a debit card. Fantastic experience: This is the third time we have booked through Teletext holidays. We found the place the hotel where we want to go to on our summer holidays. Called Teletext they did all the booking for me over the phone. The price we got was amazing. Checked other travel agents for the same holiday they were all over priced and ver expensive for the exact same holiday. Thank you Teletext.

Negative experience: I have recently booked my holiday (not gone yet) with teletext and am regretting it already. Firstly 'Bates ' did not speak good English and was not very clear. He went through the process. Upon asking if the hotel was clean he said yes. Again prices advertised were totally different to what i actually paid. I was advised my flight to Morocco was due to leave at 11.55am and reach Morocco late afternoon. I was happy with that thinking we will get to the hotel in good time. I asked if i could pay a deposit and pay the rest the next day and he said yes. I used my husband's credit card and authorised £1000 deposit. Once booked, after over an hour or so on the phone at my expense,i received emails later on. I was shocked to see my flight had changed from morning to an evening flight. I am travelling with 3 young kids. How am i supposed to get to the hotel at 10 o'clock at night?? When i asked for transfers at the time I was told that's £300 extra. So i thought I'll get there in daylight so I'll grab a taxi. What was worse was the fact that the hotel i was booked into, having checked online, was filthy. Nowhere near the 4 stars it is rated. The final blow was when the airline sent an email, the agent took more money than i had authorised, more than £1500!!! I tried calling today to sort this out but no one answered the phone. As i paid by credit card i am entitled to my money back which is what I will do if this is not resolved. I haven't even got there and already I'm having issues with them.

Negative experience: I have been booked the holidays with teletext and had a very bad experience on arrive to the hotel no booking has been made and I had to wait 6 hours to short it out and cost me £60 phone call bills speak with emergency call goes to India and he didn't help me a tall and advice me go and look for another hotel for 1 day till I short it out he wants me to go 4am in the morning to go out with my luggage and search the hotel no apologies or refund because of their mess I had to suffer lost half night sleep and I had my rooms about 10am and I went in bed by 11am and sleep all day and the result I lost 1 day out off my holiday I did booked the rooms soon as I arrived to the hotel and I paid for but didn't get what I paid for plus all hassle and fly over night so so tired couple of days because didn't get rest properly verse thing emergency help line make me angry took me 10min to get through and person who I speak he said to me I am at home and nothing I can do till the manager come to the hotel his answer surprised me Mobil phone cost £1.50 per minute took 20 with emergency help line and then give him anoter call bought 20euro phone card think before you booked with teletext holidays still haven't heard anything from teletext nearly week a go no customer service what so ever... Positive experience: My experience was "fine". It is annoying that I have to call up to book as it appears the prices quoted online are in no way related to the prices when you ring up. The person who booked my holiday was helpful and did try his best to get the price nearer to the one I saw online, however I did feel he rushed me as after every question of mine he answered he would say, "can I take your full details?". I'd recommend if you have the patience but online booking is my way forward.

Negative experience: OMG the guy who sold us a holiday was so slooooooooooow, the price went up whilst he was faffing about and putting us on hold at my friends expense on her mobile phone. I mean seriously over an hour without offering to phone us back. Sorry Philip but you need further training mate! We are both seasoned travellers in our 40s and 60s and I found the experience frustrating to the point of ridicule!

Positive experience: Further Update: So we have returned from holiday and all went well. Update: So after this review I was sent on a more official email with an accommodation voucher. Private Transfers (which they advised us to take) are proving to be a bit more expensive than the agent told us. Still nothing on the €40 though. I will revise this review when I return from our holiday. 1st Review * I have been provided with flight itinerary to which I have checked in and had to pay an extra €40 for seat reservation as only 2 out 4 seats reserved each way. I will be contacting Teletext Holidays tomorrow and requesting they provide proof of them having reserved our accommodation, as I don't have any proof as yet. I will also be contacting BBC Watchdog to investigate Teletext Holidays if I don't get the holiday I paid for. Very upset customer.

Rang for a quote but as the advisor was able to give further advice on properties and resorts ended up booking one of his recommendations at a price cheaper than any other travel agent site. Negative experience: I have booked a holiday with them. They took all our details and ages of our children (14 and 16), took the booking and took our money (over £6000) in full. I looked online a few weeks ago and it says that the hotel is adults only despite Teletext adverting the hotel with pictures which are still on their website for the hotel of a kid’s club and clearly a kids’ hotel room (it had a tent in it!). I had to ring them up to ask what the position was; they did not even know there was a problem, good job I rang. Been trying for nearly three weeks and had many calls with promises that someone will 'handle it personally'. Still no joy. Rang again on Friday and was left on hold for over an hour, my phone died due to lack of battery and they did not call me back. What they had said before being put on hold was that they had canceled the hotel (I did not know this or ask them to do it) and that we would need to look for another hotel on the island, we choose the holiday because of the hotel. I have said I want a full refund as I have been miss-sold. On the phone again to them last Friday. I have asked to be put through to a senior person in customer service and I am on hold to speak to someone called Aiden. Spoke with Aiden he said that he cannot give me a full refund as the flights are nonrefundable! I booked a holiday not flights and a hotel so why can’t they give me a full refund. Their mistake and lack of ownership. Aiden said that I should look for another hotel on the island to match with the flights so I have to look for somewhere that is not my ideal location just to fit with their mistake. I looked for another hotel and rang them on Monday and spoke to Joshua. I gave him the details of the alternative hotel and he said, as had everyone else at Teletext, he would ring me back in 24 hours. Still no call and I have just rung them and they have said that they will ring back at the end of the day. This is so poor Teletext it really is. I have used Teletext for a number of years what is going on? If someone from Teletext in Uxbridge is reading this, then please respond and help me. Holidays are something to look forward to, this service is not expected or acceptable.

Positive experience: Should be able to book online and not have telephone "so out dated". Was on the phone for more than an hour to book and pay in full, it worked out more expensive than the online quoted price by about €60. Therefore no real saving on booking flights and hotel going direct to the Airline and hotel website yourself.

Negative experience: Cheap holidays never had a problem booking before.. until sunday booking a family holiday we were giving a very good deal so decided to book it the guy said he would phone us back when holiday was booked. He phoned to say flights and transfers were booked but they lost the room in the hotel we wanted he then put me on to another guy who then said if you wanna stay in this hotel you will have to pay an extra 150.. after alot of shouting he then said ok 105.. now bear in mind its the same room no upgrade...we had to pay it. if we got a refund we wouldn't have it in or bank till the end of June all are holiday money gone..after making a complaint on fb the manager sorted it very quickly and issued us a refund and apology.. it still shouldn't of happened.

Negative experience: I am in the middle of an issue now. I received a very hard sell from an agent yesterday. He took my bank details for flights and a very specific hotel. He came back to me and said he booked the flight but there were no rooms left at the specific hotel. I asked how they could possibly book flights without the hotel confirmation and did not receive a satisfactory response. He tried very hard to sell several other hotels to me, but I was not interested and, frankly, became concerned with the "hard" selling/bait and switch. I told him in no uncertain terms that I did not want to move forward and that I would ring him back if I changed my mind. I never rang back but he tried to ring me approximately 15 times. Last night I became concerned because it appeared the funds were being taken from my account and today they were taken from my account. All of this was unauthorized. I rang the company and lodged a complaint, requesting my funds returned. They are listening to the recordings to determine how to proceed. I am hopeful they do the right thing and refund my monies immediately. If they do, I will send a follow up post noting that. Until then, consider yourself warned.

Negative experience: Terrible service and rude customer service. Booked holiday last year and payed balance, Then told to pay more or I would lose holiday. This year they said I would get a certain room then to send email with restricted view. Then they send wrong flight confirmation. I payed for parking at wrong airport due to there mistake. Won’t cover cost for new parking. Told it’s my problem. Do not use, two holidays booked to disasters!!!

Positive experience: I found the process quite stressful at the start, the salespeople seemed quite rude (I wanted to know some basic information about the hotel, and got a very loud “oh my god you really do want a lot of information don’t you”) and didn’t quite understand my budget, requirements and feelings. It was quite a pushy experience. That being said we eventually got a good deal and I’m looking forward to the holiday that has been booked.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful! False advertising and poor communication. After searching for a holiday on their app, you have to call to confirm room type, flight baggage and transfers. The price more than doubled. The only change was to include one of the rooms to be a standard family room. When I called to query the dramatic price difference the only reply was that was the static price online offer. The operator was awful in his response and said that's just the price!

However when I checked a few days later no payment had been taken and I needed to call again to manage this. Negative experience: First time using this company and I wasn't impressed, the customer service representative quoted one a decent price for my holiday then once I agreed and paid my deposit called back and said the price had changed and its gone up. .. Negative experience: Awful customer service, phoned to book a holiday with a hotel that had brill reviews, got told there is a better hotel closer to where i want for only a little more, teletext show the few good reviews ( from 10 years ago) So once booked and we check the hotel more we discover an absolute horror when we see the recent reviews, pressure sell, after they have your money the don't care about you, day 9 of calls every day and still can't get any change on hotel or refund for it even though it's against the law, ( actually called back BEFORE teletext had booked the holiday to stop them booking hotel etc, they didn't bother to call back to me and booked anyway, AVOID THIS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL COMPANY DO NOT EVER BOOK!!!!! I'd drive to the office and personally slap 7 shades out of " dj" however they seem to be located in India... WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD. I HOPE YOU ALL STUB YOUR TOE AND STEP ON LEGO EVERYDAY

Fantastic experience: I have used Teletext Holidays on countless occasions and the service has usually been good. This time it was EXCELLENT I spoke to Royden. What a truely helpful, polite young man. I knew where I wanted to go (Caves Beach Resort / 4th time ) Royden had a great telephone manner, spoke clearly and explained everything. He didn’t ( like some ! ) keep me on hold for ages. I genuinely hope that next time I book a holiday he answers the phone. All the relevant information arrived in my inbox the second he sent it , he went through it all with me and only when I was 100% happy, did he ask for payment, wish me a wonderful time and end the call. Positive experience: Good and bad experience at the same time. Austin was helpful finding right holiday, whilst his English was good there was a few times it was frustrating when I was trying to explain I wanted a 2 bedroom apartment or hotel. didn’t seem to understand that we didn’t mind paying more, going a different date/time just to get what we needed. Did however find a good place in the end. However upon trying confirm deal and pay, phone system went down twice, copious calls backwards and forwards, took over 4.5hours to sort. Also not 100% convinced we have the car seat for our 2 year old from holiday taxis private transfer. we’ve been charged more but not given any acknowledgement. Was told we’d have to pay extra when we get there (which I said I’d rather book directly and know car seat is booked) then all of a sudden he says yes just pay extra and we’ll book it now. Will be extremely unhappy if this isn’t as we have requested come June when we go away....
