In particular the flight times were exceptionally worked out so as to make all the journeys easy to make, at sociable hours.The Hotel booked for us in Hong Kong was superb value for money. The Staff in Bristol could not have been more helpful. My wife and I will most certainly be using you again

And much as I tried I couldn't actually beat their price for an all in trip!!! Highly recommended, not least because at least one person in store will of been where you want to go, and tell you all you need to know!

Fantastic experience: Trailfinders Bespoke Tour of Rajasthan today, 15:21 I would just like to say how fantastic Trailfinders (Bristol, UK) and their agents in India (Trans India) were when we booked and went on our tour of Rajasthan in January/February 2016. From the first visit to the office in Corn Street, Bristol to the final drop off at Delhi airport to come home we were well and truly looked after in 1st class style. I made the mistake of reading too much about India on the Internet, and so made quite a few anxious calls to the office to ask questions. Every time I got useful information from Steve and his colleagues who went above and beyond answering my questions, even to the point of gathering information and phoning me back, to reassure me on many many aspects of the trip. Upon our arrival at Delhi Airport, we were met by a Trans India agent and driver, driven to our hotel (The Vikram, New Delhi) where we were given vouchers for every hotel and every excursion we had booked. Every day we were met at the hotel by our guide for that day. Our driver (Tarsem) was with us from the first day to the day in Udaipur when he dropped us off at the airport for our return flight to Delhi, in preparation for the extension of our trip to Shimla. Nothing was too much trouble for Tarsem. He drove us from Delhi, to Agra, and onto Jaipur, Jodphur, and Udaipur in a large, comfortable Toyota (can't remember the model!) His driving was superb, always careful, he was informative and answered all my questions very patiently! Local knowledge was invaluable in Agra - we had booked a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We had already been taken around the Taj by our guide the previous afternoon for the sunset visit. He told us it wouldn't be worth getting up before dawn to go to the Taj as the fog would be very thick and we wouldn't see anything. He was correct. When we visited at 10.30am the fog had just lifted. I have written reviews of everywhere we visited on separate reviews, but would just like to say what a fantastic service we received from Trailfinders and Trans India. The organisation was faultless. The representatives and guides met us at the hotels, on time, always helpful, always courteous. The Guides met us on time, at the sites that we stopped at on our way from one city to another. We were even met at Kalka Railway Station by Sushil our Shimla Guide, when we were expecting to transfer from the Shatabdi Express to the Himalayan Queen for our trip to Shimla on our own. He and the driver had driven the 3 hour trip from Shimla to Kalka to meet us at the railway station and at every stop on the hill railway trip he came along to our carriage and made sure we had everything we needed. The two night extension at the Oberoi Cecil in Shimla was the icing on the cake. A beautiful hill station, a luxury hotel, clean air, snow on the ground, and a beautiful place to chill out after 13 days of travelling around Rajasthan. Our guides were brilliant - particularly, Mohammed at Fatipur Sikri, Mangu Singh at Jaipur, Bhopal at Jodhpur, Kamal Singh at Udaipur, and the wonderful Sushil at Shimla. Our representatives and drivers were fantastic. To travel across Rajasthan in a comfortable car and not have to travel by train was absolutely amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Trailfinders and Trans India - they made our trip absolutely unforgettable. The organisation from start to finish was seamless. It may sound as if we were 'hand-held' but it was not like that at all - we were just catered for - in every way - in what can be a manic, loud, bustling, but beautiful country. Hope this review helps people thinking about the trip.

I recently spent four hours with them arranging a trip. I have also used Trailfinders in London and also in Australia and always there has been the same excellent level of Service. Negative experience: I was hoping to book an appointment to talk through a safari holiday for my family. We’ve had the brochure understand our budget which will be £15 - £20k wanted to progress this only to be told we have to pay £50 to book an appointment. I understand that this gets redeemed off the holiday but it just didn’t feel right I’m a serious customer and it felt like I wasn’t being taken seriously. I was set on using Trail Finders, have used them before but I really didn’t like having to pay to see someone upfront. I wonder if others feel the same?

Negative experience: Took a detour to Bristol while driving from Ascot to Chepstow, specifically to book a holiday. Was reluctantly greeted as we entered and informed that the guy was currently on hold on a call and we would have to wait until someone was available. Waited 15 minutes and not one member of staff so much as looked up so we chose to leave. We were made to feel like a total inconvenience. Really disappointing experience

Negative experience: Can’t ever get anyone to answer the phone. The on hold music etc is awful, broken fragmented to say the least. Gets even worst if you have to cancel, even for medical reasons. They simply keep all your airline and even cruise money. You're much better off booking yourself. Then at least you get some compensation They won’t survive like this. Such a shame, they’ve lost the plot...

Positive experience: The booking of tickets was pleasant and reasonable and worked smoothly. The insurance I bought was however extraordinarily difficult and slow to claim and irritatingly Trailfinders did absolutely nothing to help. The insurers were very difficult to contact and made multiple promises of imminent payment, not one of which was honoured. By the time they paid up I had given up trying. Trailfinders state that it is not their insurance, which is obviously true, but they sell it and could have been more helpful in sorting it out when it didn't work. A modest refund is a welcome compensation, but the real benefit of dealing person to person is ease and clarity of a transactions and I would have rated Trailfinders better if they had continued that helpfulness into trying to penetrate the insurance claim. Happily I learn that they have now moved their insurance to another company. It will be interesting to see if the service improves although I won't be risking it.

Fantastic experience: I'm pretty sure it was Trailfinders in London but the experience I have always had from Trailfinders has been nothing less than outstanding so whether it is Bristol, London or Kent is largely unimportant. On this occasion I called very last minute looking to book a holiday with no Covid testing requirements in Mexico (travelled late Feb 2022). Anthony listened to all our needs, matched us to a suitable flight, hotel and area and when he realised one part might not work called back immediately with alternative solutions. Everything he said was accurate and indeed in many cases surpassed expectations once we arrived in Mexico. I have used Trailfinders many times over nearly 30 years of travelling and would highly recommend them whether it is back packing, luxury all inclusive or any other type of trip or even just for advice - they are a highly knowledgeable, friendly and empathetic company (made so by their staff).

Positive experience: Asked for quote for a multi country american trip since I had been here a number of times before. Unfortunately the agent was nothing like a flexible as previously or used previous information or data around needs or expectations. When they did quote they weren’t prepared to keep the details so when I rang back after Xmas I had to start again and they couldn’t do a package with hire car or a wide selection of hotels which is close to being competitive to other travel agents. I am therefore disappointed that they now seem not to be able to fobtgevtailored programs I thought they were famous for!

Negative experience: Booked a holiday to Canada and had a number of issues. We were travelling with a baby so made sure to ask for a car seat for our airport transfer and a cot for each hotel. The driver turned up at the airport without a car seat, and no hotel had a cot in the room for us. Trailfinders were very responsive when contacted, but when they asked me what I would view as a suitable outcome for the complaint and I said the extra charge we'd paid for the car seat for the transfer, tried claiming we wouldn't have paid anything extra for this (which I do not believe for a second - EVERYTHING costs extra!). Possibly the worst thing was that we booked with Trailfinders to give us comfort that everything would be done correctly around Covid travel requirements. We were told that booking in my wife's maiden name would be ok, and even checked again after booking that it wasn't necessary to change everything into her married name to be consistent with her covid documents, and were told there wasn't as long as we could prove the change in name. When we came to check in online her Covid documents were not accepted because of the difference in name. We called trailfinders who said everything did need to be in the same name (despite what they'd said before) and that we should rearrange our holiday (a day before we were due to fly). When I pointed out that we'd been told by them the difference in name should be ok we were told that they didn't give advice like this (even though they did), and that the advisor had noted on our record that she had told us to check the requirements for ourselves (even though she didn't). Luckily we ignored the advice to re-book as we were already packed, and everything worked out ok, as Canadian customs have the common sense to know that a woman's name can change when she gets married. Overall we had a lovely holiday, but the premium you pay for trailfinders to make all the arrangements and be there to support you wasn't worth it for us, because the arrangements weren't made properly, and they didn't support us.

Negative experience: post sales experience is really poor with these guys now. There is no way of getting in touch with your sales rep other than to call and wait in a queue for 45 mins to 1 hour (if you are lucky). There is no queue wait time information provided or call back options (standard call centre tech for many years). 9 times out of 10 your rep will be on a call and you won't get to speak to them anyway. No way of emailing them or digital messaging to get a quick answer. Trailfinders need to up their game with their post sales technology and CX as its pretty poor and would put me off from booking with them again.

Fantastic experience: I literally cannot book a flight without trailfinders any more - I would miss them too much! Outstanding customer service, the friendliest team, and brilliant prices. Plus that money can’t buy extra: piece of mind that if anything goes wrong they’ll help you sort it. I have booked every long distance flight in the last 5 years through them and I think I always will! Not to mention their top notch Covid cover insurance and the fact they hold your money until your holiday is over (rather than spending it like other companies do) in case anything goes wrong. I have recommended trailfinders to my family and friends and will continue to!

Fantastic experience: We've used trailfinders a few times now and have always found them very helpful - and they don't mind when you completely change your mind on location, price range, or time of year (or all three) several times! They are not the most environmentally friendly as they send everything to you in the post as well as email options to you, but some people might like having physical things to refer to, so I'm not going to mark them down for it. Probably the main good point is that they have always found really good deals for us. We usually sort our travel ourselves, but couldn't find anything nearly as cheap (or as nice) as these guys did. Definitely going to use them again.

Fantastic experience: Kieth is a top man. I have used this branch twice before but not for 20 years. I’m glad I returned. I could have saved myself a very small amount of money by booking myself via Sky Scanner but let me give you a bit of advice. If you’re looking for a fair deal and professional advice then expect this to come at a cost because it’s their business after all. If you don’t need the advice then booking directly is fine. I felt I had a very good deal considering the very high level of service I received. I enjoyed the company of Kieth and his Colleague Damien. I left the branch with a good deal and additional knowledge. That’s worth every penny of about £70. Glad I returned after all these years.

Fantastic experience: We booked our first ever "big holiday" through this branch, initially dealing with Simon to get an idea of cost, and then with Steph Salter once we decided to book it. She took time to understand what we wanted, and took time to explain everything to us. Unfortunately during the time from booking to leaving, both our hotels pulled out and our initial flight was cancelled. Steph helped us pick different hotels, and even saved us £200 the second time round, using a new offer to get us a hotel in a better location than before. When we found out about the flights, we were rung and informed, but were also given two options straight away, both of which were an "upgrade" from our original flight for no extra cost. At no time did we feel any kind of worry, and everyone we dealt with was helpful, understanding, and patient with us. After our experience, my parents are using this Trailfinders branch to book a big trip for their 25th wedding anniversary.

Positive experience: Great holiday Having never been to the USA before I was unsure what would be the best way to travel & how far we could go in a day. I went in to the Corn St office & told Steve the places we wanted to visit: Los Angeles, the Grand Canyon, Sequoia National Park, Yosemite National Park, Monterey and San Francisco. I also told him the budget we had for the trip. While I was sitting there he put together the holiday, provisionally booking flights, hotels & a rental car. He gave me a printout to take home & think about, we then made a few minor alterations to get it within our budget. At a later date he also arranged the Annual Pass to the National Parks & tickets to Universal Studios. This was a great trip which we all enjoyed without us having to spend hours & without the stress, of trying to work out our itinerary.

Negative experience: Wow how disappointing. Had high expectations of this place, went in, asked about holidays in the Balkans and got turned down as soon as I sat down. The rep said we're better off looking online somewhere else, didn't even try. Will definitely not be going with them. Bit sad and angry really. Probably going to go with Flight Centre round the corner now.
