A Different Peru

Fantastic experience: We recently visited Peru and the trip was arranged by Edd and Angela Tillen from “A Different Peru”. It was an excellent trip - a real adventure as opposed to a holiday. We walked the Inca Trail – it was great but extremely hard work and the countryside, the people and the views were astonishing. Machu Picchu was truly amazing – without a doubt the most iconic place in South America. Then we had two nights in the Amazon jungle – very interesting and it was wonderful to see monkeys, parrots, caiman (and we even saw a tarantula) in their natural surroundings – sadly, too many damn mosquitoes. We mainly stayed in really lovely hotels, much more modern and swanky than I was expecting for Peru. Naturally, the walk was three nights under canvas so we were delighted to be reunited with our bags and a luxurious hotel after the trail. The accommodation at the nature reserve was also a very high standard especially as we were in the middle of the jungle. Naturally, there was a fair amount of travel and the trip was arranged superbly. Even at the airports were we “hand delivered” to the check-in desk and we then had a driver waiting for us when we landed – for me the peace of mind of having this level of service is paramount when travelling in a foreign county. All in all, a fantastic experience and a special thanks to A Different Peru for arranging the full itinerary with such smooth logistics all the way.
