Fantastic experience: Ian was exceptional for our Open Water referral. In one short day, we felt significantly more comfortable in the water and he did a great job conceptualising a lot of the topics that were covered in elearning. He was also incredibly patient with someone else in our group who was struggling and not only pulled in another instructor to keep the rest of the group going at pace, he also stayed late to help her feel comfortable with everything. 5 stars!

Tom Inett is a fantastic instructor, very knowledgable and encourages you to ask questions. Also very big thanks to Nick and Kwang for their invaluable support. Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience with Oyster diving in Soho. The team were so professional and I felt in very good hands. All of the equipment was very well kept and it was very organised and well run. The classes were really consistent and the instructions and drills were clear and informative. Fantastic experience: My son completed his referral course with Soaps last weekend. Booking the course easy and the instructor Soaps made the whole experience very enjoyable on the day, taking the time to make sure my son was comfortable with everything he was learning. My son was experiencing stomach pains on the day (from a football injury the day before) but Soaps made sure he was safe and extended the session to rest and ensure he was safe and comfortable enough to continue. Needless to say he managed to complete all pool dives and is now ready for his referral to complete the open water dives. Thank you Oyster Diving and especially Soaps :-)

Negative experience: Their pricing strategy is misleading at best. I purchased a course from them due to a lower price advertised just to discover that the final cost was 40% higher since I ended up paying for a digital learning package, access to diving site and tank refills (even though all those were mandatory for the certification)... Some of these are to be paid in cash at the location (despite POS being available). The staff were nice and accommodating. Surprisingly the equipment was above the bottom shelf you would expect for rentals but their maintenance was not the best.

Fantastic experience: Very good diving tuition. I received dry suit training from Oyster Diving School. Important and helpful details were explained to me by phone beforehand. On the day, we had one expert per person and had a lot of attention to make sure we understood everything and were applying the skills correctly. The equipment provided was pretty good, and we dived at Mercer's lake which surprised me by having somewhat interesting features and life in it (although of course it's not on the same level as diving a wreck or corals). The lake has good facilities: changing rooms, two toilets and a cafe. I don't remember seeing a shower which can be a nice touch if you get cold. In all, highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I did the Open Water course in Caterham and Mercers Lake as a re-entry to the diving world, having previously qualified but lost my old-school paper log book and not dived for a while. The whole team were fantastic, from Mark organising things in the office to Neil in the pool and Ian and Cash in the lake. The instructors were all very kind to all the students, friendly and very informative always explaining things very well and with clear hand signals. I will be moving on to do Advanced Open Water with Oyster as soon as I can fit it in and would highly recommend the school to anyone. In fact my wife is booked to start Open Water with them next weekend!

Fantastic experience: I recently took my two teenagers for a try scuba dive with Oyster at the Caterham location. The two instructors, George and Chris, were excellent. Really knowledgeable, friendly and the dive was a great success. We will be signing up with Oyster to do the full PADI course. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My kids and I really enjoyed both the pool session and the qualifying dives in Mercers Lake. We started from scratch in the Soho pool which was very convenient. George is a great instructor and made sure we had fun whilst learning everything needed to feel confident and safe to dive independently. For completion George was assisted by Ainsley the first day and Jon on the 2nd day. Both were really helpful in sharing their experience and making us feel safe. All was very well organised.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this diving school highly enough! Both myself and my twin daughters have recently passed our Open Water Padi Qualification this June. Throughout the entire process, from the on line course, pool dives and open water dives every member of the Oyster team I came into contact with could not have been more helpful. They are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. I was a little nervous and found my first open water dive daunting, their patience, understanding, dedication and one to one support got me through that first dive and gave me the confidence to complete the course. They are a wonderful team and even though the conditions for our weekend at the lake completing our open water dives were not ideal, wind, rain, hailstones etc...(Great British summertime at its best!) They were always smiling, always on top form and could not do enough for you. Thank you all so much and I cannot wait to take my new found skills to hotter, warmer climates to experience what the world of scuba diving has to bring - thanks to Oyster!

Fantastic experience: Found Oyster diving school through google. I attended the rescue c course which was led by George who was great. Made the two days at Mercers lake not just fun but very informative and the right amount of stress with regard to the practical exercises in and put the water. Cannot recommend the diving school enough!

Had a phenomenal experience getting my open water cert with Oyster. Even though the open water dives are in a lake in Surrey, don’t let this deter you! The dives were challenging in a good way, as I felt a true sense of accomplishment having done my open water dives in cold water. The instructors (Amie & Hannah) were very friendly and professional! And we're always on hand to answer any questions I had. All in all, a great day and I would definitely book with Oyster again!

Fantastic experience: Just completed my Sidemount course with Rosco at Mercers Lake. Everything was expertly handled, from the instruction and training to the organisation. I would highly recommend the guys at Oyster for all your dive training needs. I'll be back!

Fantastic experience: Completed my recreational sidemount diver course over two days with Rosco at Mercers Lake in Redhill. Rosco is a really good instructor, he is very knowledgeable, methodical and concise. He took his time to explain how to properly configure harness sizing, neatly attaching first/second stages, hoses etc to cylinders and how to don/doff cylinders to your harness, whilst standing in the shallows and in deep water. Also, the underwater exercises were well structured and we practised them enough times until we felt confident doing them. Throughout the course, Rosco was always paying attention to detail. He took GoPro footage during the first dive and played it back the next morning, which allowed us to properly visualise the gear in order to fine-tune for the next dive. That was so helpful! Overall the course went really well. It was slightly overwhelming at first, given all the new gear to familiarise yourself with and information to take onboard, but it was made easier by having Ian present during dives, acting as safety diver, and Tom, who is also very knoweldgeable and was always available to ask any questions. Rosco, Ian and Tom were a great team, bringing the right level of humour and professionalism to the mix, which made this course a great experience from start to finish. Regarding facilities, there is a small building on-site with a room for setting up gear and briefing, changing rooms & toilets and a small canteen for hot drinks and snacks. I would highly recommend doing your sidemount course with Oyster Diving! Thanks guys :)

Fantastic experience: I completed my Open Water Part A confined dive with Oyster. Our instructor Soaps was excellent, the session was informative, fun and highly efficient (completed in 4-5hrs). I left feeling confident and looking forward to my open water dive.

Fantastic experience: I completed the full freediver course at Oyster Diving. Oyster Diving provides a high number of dates and locations for pool and open water training. They are very helpful with any questions and issues before the course. The instructor, Phil, I had my course with, was very knowledgeable and supportive. For the course, Oyster Diving provided all the relevant equipment which was of very good quality and in very good shape. The venues for pool and open water training were of a high standard and had ample of parking space. During the course, I learned a lot and had a great time. I am very satisfied with Oyster Diving and I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Dry suit diving course at their fine lake in Godstone. Instruction from Logan was top notch- a safe pair of hands and highly entertaining. His assistant Melvin did a perfectly competent job too.

Fantastic experience: Wasn't sure I needed a refresher, as they always give you a tester "dummies" dive at the resort anyway, but after this I was grateful I did it (had been 7 years!). Got me back up to speed. With extra time we swam up and down the pool (submerged) , which is very helpful, and makes the 1st resort dive a lot smoother

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved it. From start to finish. Did my Part A in Soho back in August with Alina and there were folks who were a bit nervous about the water, but they were comforted really amazingly by Alina and the wider Oyster team. I couldn't wait to get out into the fresh waters. I did my Part B with Laura (shout out to Ian B as well for stepping in when Laura was unavailable for certain skill exercises, although now she owes him an entire pubs worth of beer haha!) and training divemaster David (who was a great addition of support and knowledge). Although Part B was only 2 days (Saturday & Sunday - I say "only", because I loved it so much I wanted more!) I really felt like a team at the end especially on our fun dive (4th and final dive). There were times I really didn't want to get out of the water because of how much fun I was having. The whole 3 weeks of Part A and 2 days of Part B were really well organised and you could really tell that Oyster have got the logistics down to perfection as they've been doing it for so long. From the reception and registering, the skills plan and schedule, the equipment ready for use, even additional equipment on hand for if people needed different sizes (I needed a medium BCD instead of large) everything was really well organised. Something that also really stood out is not just the way the Oyster staff were with us newbies doing the open water certification (really lovely and patient) but how nice and friendly they were with each other. This really emphasised the family feel as you can tell they're all really good friends who love what they do and in fact was one of the key reasons why I'm going to try and join the Oyster diving club - on top of how much I really loved diving (and seeing the fish in Mercers Lake). I will be back with my girlfriend when she does her Part B open water certification as we were originally supposed to do it together but she wasn't able to make the days. But several of the Oyster team let me know that when she does the Part B in Mercers lake that I can just come along and do the dive as well as a tag along providing I pay for equipment rental and lake fees etc. Which again, shows how much they really want people to feel included and involved. This now allows me and my girlfriend to be able to do it together like we originally planned and allows me to get in some extra dives. I would share pictures but I don't know how others feel with their faces being uploaded to Google haha! Thanks for everything, and I shall see you when I do my advanced open water or when my girlfriend does her part B - whichever is sooner :D P.S: Thanks to Laura for giving me a lift to the station on the final day, my legs really needed the break from the walk to the station the day before lol

Fantastic experience: Great experience! My 16 year old had a tryout and loved it. I found the whole environment to be safe, and the instructors were patient and clear. The session was unrushed and my lad felt he'd had personal coaching, and said it was really fun.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed my OWD part A at the pool in Soho, and my part B at the lake with Oyster Diving over the last few weeks, and it was a great experience. All the instructors and staff were friendly, patient, and happy to help, but a special shoutout to George and Joel for going the extra mile as my instructors on the part A and B respectively. My only feedback would be around the part B at the lake - it’s a long walk from the nearest train stations, so running an arranged ‘shuttle bus’ to/from the stations for those travelling to/from central London would be a nice addition. I’d also prefer to pay all fees etc in the initial booking, rather than paying the £15 lake entrance fee on the day, and the £15 cylinder refill charge for the weekend. Overall a really fun experience and a great company to work with. I’m sure I’ll be booking trips with them in the near future!

Positive experience: I enjoyed my Discover SCUBA experience and was very grateful that the instructor was patient, especially because I was struggling at first. Breathing underwater for the first time was lovely and all the staff were so kind.

Fantastic experience: I had a brilliant experience with Oyster Diving who have been extremely supportive throughout the entire process of reaching my Open Water Diving. Alex, Alina, George, Logan and John have helped me so much throughout my learning and practical, and they made sure I was comfortable and ready to keep going in the next stages either in the pool or in Mercer’s Lake. Fantastic experience: I completed both parts of my open water with Oyster diving with Oyster - the pool sessions in Soho and part B at Mercers lake. Our instructor at soho, Alex, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and thorough. The lake dives were with Logan and Jill who again were great at explaining what to do, very patient, and fun!! Had a fantastic two days with them at Mercers lake and highly recommend Oyster to anyone interested in doing their PADI Open Water

Fantastic experience: I recently completed a Dry Suit Diver course with Oyster Diving school with the intention of being able to continue to dive over the British autumn/winter. I'm relatively new to diving and our group had quite a board range of experience levels but the instructor George took us through the course with great enthusiasm and without any issue beyond a few minor buoyancy challenges on my part. The course was great fun (especially the part at the end where we got to play at being Michelin men on the surface) and I now feel confident to dive further in a dry suit (using the BCD for buoyancy control at least!).

Fantastic experience: My experience using oyster was incredible. The staff there were very kind and considerate. If we ever had a problem they would be very quick to help us and sort us out. They made us feel comfortable whilst diving and made it a fun experience overall. It was the best environment for me to learn how to dive safely

Fantastic experience: Did my PADI Open Water course (Part A) in Brighton the other day. Good fun and the Oyster team were great with clear instructions, demos and overall help, especially Mark who looked after our group on the day. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Did a Re-Aptitude with Soaps yesterday. Although my wife and I have done around 20 dives at around 10 different locations, its now been a few years, and it was amazing how little we remembered. Soaps was absolutely awesome, got us back up to speed and reminded us of so much important information in what was really a short space of time. Plus, she helped my wife finally get her head round how to clear her mask, something that had been causing her way too much stress for way too long! Although we only did an swimming pool session as it was re-orientation ahead of an upcoming trip, based on our experience yesterday, I’d have no hesitation doing any further classes or skills with these guys.

Fantastic experience: Tom was our brilliant instructor for the PADI advanced open water weekend at Vobster with great support from the lovely Kwang. The whole experience was excellent with their patient guidance and sense of humour. Look forward to diving with them again soon.

Fantastic experience: (Writing everything down on the train back home when memories are still super fresh:) did my EFR and rescue diver courses with the amazing George over this weekend. As most divers said: it was probably the most fun, challenging and fulfilling course you could take, especially with George’s patient and detailed explanations and demos. I really liked the part that George was not pushing just to tick skills off the list but he really took the time for three of us to take turns to practice everything (some even a couple of times) and then discuss with us and comment on what was done right or wrong or could be improved (now I feel really sorry that there is a dive master there helping us all the time with all the scenarios and sharing his knowledge generously as well, but rude me did not get his name properly….please do extend my thank-you to him and very very sorry to miss his name….). Really happy that I finally made the decision to take the courses and also a smart one to do it with Oyster Diving. Shouting out to Tom and Ian as well, since I also covered the emergency oxygen provider just to make sure I have more confidence dealing with different emergencies, both of them helped me to understand and remember better about the different masks, which was quite a confusion for me when I took the e-learning. With their extensive experiences and examples of different situations with different masks and flow and everything related, now I definitely feel that I have become (or am still on the way becoming) a safer and more responsible diver, and ready to embrace more skills and specialties, thanks a lot again, Oyster Diving! Will see you very soon! (Too long for a feedback I feel, but they just deserve even more than this )

Fantastic experience: Best place to start your scuba diving journey! Really well organized and the instructors were very engaging, fun, patient and supportive. Big thanks to Melvin and Harvey for their time on the Part-B weekend. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Having done the pool sessions with George on a 1-to-1 basis back a couple of months ago, I returned last weekend to do the open water sessions with him at Mercer's Lake, assisted by Guy as divemaster/safety diver. Once again, this was a fantastic experience. George gave clear instructions and demonstrations, guiding me every step of the way. He really is a very talented teacher. Guy was very helpful and supportive throughout, as well as being the best buddy you could wish for. Together George and Guy gave me the confidence to persevere when I was having problems equalising at the start of Dive 3 and passed on heaps of useful tips for breathing and buoyancy. They have really enthused me to build on the skills I have learnt. I strongly recommend Oyster for anybody who wants to to learn in a supportive environment - and if, like me, you do not have age on your side, I thoroughly recommend doing the course on a 1-to-1 basis so that you can progress at your own pace. Fantastic experience: I just completed my open water with Oyster. It has been a lovely experience. I did my confined water dives with instructor Phil. The four open water dives were at Mercers lake with instructors Rob,George and Szimon. All of the dive instructors are brilliant and explain everything with clarity and patience. By the end of the course I felt confident with diving knowledge handling my gear.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend oyster diving for PADI accreditation! Both the pool and open water courses were organised & professional while still remaining very fun and enjoyable! Particular props to Rob and George - they were top! If you drop anything in the lake, George is happy to collect.

Fantastic experience: Did the taster dive with Lauren, Pasquale and Alex B who were all super patient and friendly. Had never dived before and the session was fantastic. Managed to be really enjoyable and accessible whilst also informative. Will definitely complete the open water course with Oyster Diving. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Fantastic experience: I took the Oyster Scuba Dive Taster session at Marshall Street Pool yesterday. It was well-organised from moment of booking online to the end of the session. Both Alex B and Pasquale were knowledgable, friendly, helpful and super professional. I struggled a bit in the pool but Alex B put me at ease immediately so I had a great experience all round - I eventually made it down to the full 3m depth so was really pleased with that! Thanks so much, guys! I’m considering taking another trial session just to join my friend (who couldn’t join last min) for another practice before deciding to commit to a full PADI cert.
