Our tour hit over 10+ towns and he was able to show us exactly what we were interested in! We had a fantastic lunch at a place recommended by him. He takes such good care of his tours and walked us into the lunch spot to make sure we had a table, etc. Everything was such an excellent experience and we really enjoyed our day! We had Mark Element as our guide for the second, and third day. He was delightful to have. He imparted so much information of Cromwell, King Charles 1 and William Shakespeare that it sparked my interest to learn more about English history. The visit to the silver smith was an eye opener to the patience and skill of those craftsmen. Our three days at Cotswold exceeded our expectations. We were very lucky to have these two guides.

He lives in the area and possesses a deep knowledge of the area history with special knowledge of all the places he took my wife and me. He is friendly and has a great sense of humor. Fantastic experience: We spent 6 days touring the Cotswolds with 4 different guides. Each one was friendly and polite and eager to show us what we came to see. We had Jeanette for 2 days, and wished she had been our guide the entire time. She was knowledgeable and fun, and we felt at ease with her immediately. We were impressed with the knowledge base, and different backgrounds of each of the guides. Would definitely recommend this tour company.

Fantastic experience: * There aren't enough superlatives to describe our trip with Cotswold Tours & Travel. My adult daughter and I spent 4.5 days exploring the Cotswold region with the goal of retracing my first trip over 40 years ago. I needed to find a tour company who would help me create my own original tour. We began in Oxford with Mark who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, kind, with wonderful sense of humor! * The following day Robin D. toured the rural areas including a private tour of a working farm, visits to Broadway, Chipping-Campden, and frequent stops to take photos of majestic views - and animals (my daughter and I are animal people). Robin is a life-long Cotswold resident and co-founder of the company whose years of experience afforded us invaluable background of the area and farming and cultural history, all with wry and charming wit. (Ask him about current King Charles, formerly Prince of Wales, and laying a hedge.) * The third day was spent with James D who drove us down to Bath to walk the Royal Crescent, explore this amazing, historic, and charming town, and visit the historic and classical Roman Baths. We rounded out the day with lunch at a charming inn, and a stroll through Castle Combe - the "prettiest village in England." All true. Again, James was thoroughly knowledgeable and willing to answer innumerable questions with patience, willingness, and kindness. * The final day of touring was spent with Mark E. again who took us to tour Stratford-upon-Avon - the town where he currently resides. We began with Shakespeare's birthplace, went behind the scenes at the Globe Theatre (with scenic views of the town from the top floor), Anne Hathaway's Cottage, the Guild Chapel, and rounded off our tour of Stratford-upon-Avon with a tour of Holy Trinity church. We finished the day at the magnificent Warwick Castle, my most favorite castle that I've ever been to personally. It did not disappoint. * What was most refreshing about all of our guides was the openness and willingness to answer questions and engage in conversation, not in giving a pre-recorded well-worn speech. I tried to find a tour that could accommodate my request in retracing steps of years ago, and they did so with flying colors. Our vehicles were very comfortable excellent with large windows to see everything. * Thank Cotswold Tours & Travel - you made our special trip so memorable.

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about our guide Phil or the tour company. If you’re thinking about booking, just do it! Phil was incredible! He is a local to the area and he made the whole day so special for my family and I. This was the highlight of everyone’s trip. Phil was organized, thoughtful and full of information. He took us to some cool places that we may not have known about. He followed up the night before to confirm pick up time and then got us back to our train with the perfect amount of time. This tour group was a bit more expensive vs others I researched but it was well worth it. Highly recommend this tour group if you’re thinking about visiting!

Fantastic experience: Cotswolds Tour and Travel was a fantastic company to work with. They helped me organize a bespoke group tour for myself and 15 friends. Each activity they suggested was quintessentially Cotswolds. Our guides were Andy and Mark. The coach company they organized was wonderful, too. Darren was our main driver, and we also had Callum. The coaches were modern and spotless. I highly recommend using Cotswolds Tours and Travel to create an unforgettable experience in England.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal! From the beginning of organising a private tour via email with Eddie, the experience was smooth and easy. The magic continued when James and Neil collected our group from the train station and took us on a fabulous adventure. We visited the Diddly Squat farm, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wod, and finished off in Bath, with a few quaint stops along the way. James was super informative, and easy going. He didn’t rush us, he was lovely and so friendly. And Neil was great too! Who doesn’t love a Scotsman! Our group consisted of 2 older people (one utilising a wheelchair), 3 kids, 2 tired parents and 2 other family members. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company. They helped with train timings, the transport was top notch, and it was just genuinely a fantastic day!

Fantastic experience: We found Coswold’s Tours and Travel online and it seemed to be what we were looking for, personalized tours of the Cotswold’s area and transport from the airport and back to our hotel in London. The company lived up to our expectations and beyond. We were met at Heathrow by Steve who was the perfect blend of friendly, fun, professional and knowledgeable. He took us to a number of sites in Oxford as well as to Bladon and Bampton on our way to Stow on the Wold where we were staying. We then had two days of touring with Dave who was also fun and knowledgeable. Dave took us all over the Cotswold’s showing us popular market towns, lesser-known beauty spots, skilled craftsmen, amazing churches, cathedrals, gardens and castles. A highlight was an afternoon with Anna in her kitchen baking and having our first Cream Tea. Our last day was spent with Vince, who managed to show us a few more lovely spots on our way to London. Vince was a great storyteller, and we were literally on the edge of our seats listening to him. Speaking of seats, the vans were clean, comfortable, spacious and equipped with drinking water and extra umbrellas. Cotswold’s Tours and Travel exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Cotswold Tour and Travel. My husband and I did a two-day tour back in May. Our first day was with Peter for the Famous Cotswold Tour. Our 2nd day was with Gary for their Hidden Gems tour. Both were wonderful guides with lots of knowledge about the area. They were both very flexible with the timeline and allowed us to decide how long we wanted to spend in each area. These two tours were a great introduction to the area and if we ever find ourselves back in the Cotswold's we will 100% use Cotswold Tour and Travel again.

Fantastic experience: We had a great tour with Steve. He knows the Costworlds so well. He provided much details and information. He has a good sense of humour. All day we had to deal with blocked roads and he was able to manage while and always keeping a good sense of humour. We fully recommend Steve 100%.

Fantastic experience: We had three days of tours with this company and really enjoyed each one as well as the tour guide and/or driver. Steve Goodenough took us to Stonehenge and through the Cotswolds, Steve Fraser drove us to Bathe, and Marcus Rees toured us through Oxford. They were all great!

Fantastic experience: We had an outstanding tour of film sites with Rob Hook. Rob was a brilliant guide & driver. He had very interesting information about all the places we visited. Rob was charming and very attentive to our interests and requests. This tour was the highlight of our holiday in the Cotswolds.

Fantastic experience: An enjoyable first class service. James D, driver and tour guide, executed the itinerary we created beyond our expectations. Smooth pickup at the cruise terminal in Southampton traveling to Bath for a foot tour with James. Then off to Aerospace Bristol. A must stop for airspace enthusiasts. James participated with us and so going forth would be good resource for getting the most of this venue. It was worth the wait to get an up close and inside look at the last in flight Concord. The galleries building deserves more time than we had to participate in the interactive exhibits. Plan for more than 2hrs at this venue, especially if want to eat. The route to our destination Lygon Arms Broadway included Stanton highlights. 4 days later Gary K, driver from the company, arrived as planned for the transfer to Heathrow. Luxury transfer and included drive by highlights of noted areas. This was exceptional and arrived airport as required for international flight.

Fantastic experience: Phil was an absolute delight. I’d recommend him for anyone wanting to see the Cotswolds. He also drove us to Oxford, and then to London. The Underground was closed due to strike and Phil kept his cool through hours of horrible bus, car, bike traffic. All four of us hated to see him go. Excellent experience!

Fantastic experience: Scott was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. He is knowledgeable, warm, and a pleasure to be with! We saw everything we wanted to see and more. He said he had never gotten the request to get close enough to a sheep to pet one, and yet, he delivered! We had the most delicious lunch, saw some gorgeous churches, Broadway Tower… the list goes on and on. It was a perfect day for my mom and I from start to finish. Scott was great at reading the room and knowing when to leave us to do some shopping and always returned right at the perfect moment. I could do a Cotswolds tour again and again. We also had a last minute flight change and Eddie the owner was able to get us a ride at the last minute that took us to the Cotswolds past midnight. Gary our driver picked us up from Heathrow and dropped us at our hotel and didn’t leave us until he knew we were on the right place, a “needle in the haystack” as he called it! There wasn’t someone guiding us at our hotel so Gary did not leave our side until we had safely found our cottage. Amazing company who clearly hires drivers and tour guides who truly care! We will definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: What an amazing day we (Myself, my elderly parents and my teenage son ) had with Rob as our tour leader. He took us to the gems of the Cotswolds, gave us the history and lots of interesting facts that we would never have figured out on our own. We loved learning about English culture. We laughed a lot and were fully engaged. The driving was perfection and I was so happy to not be behind the wheel, but to let someone else do the work while we simply enjoyed our day. He was incredibly flexible because we had a train delay out of London and he accommodated us with ease. The Mercedes van was squeaky clean, very comfortable and well appointed. It was a five star tour and I would definitely recommend it for anybody travelling to the Cotswolds.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful day. We were travelling in family from France (grand-parents, parents and teenagers). Our guide Robin answered all our questions, explained us many things about the Cotswolds and drove us to little wonderful villages that we couldn't have found by ourselves. Fantastic experience: An amazing 5 days with Cotswold Tours & Travel! My husband and I spent an amazing 5 days in the Cotswolds with the fantastic guides for Cotswold Tours & Travel...James D. on the trip from York to Stow-on-the-Wold, Mark E. on our tour of Oxford and Blenheim Palace, Vince S. for our tour of many of the lovely villages in the area and some of the filming locations for our favorite British TV shows, Andy for our tour of Highclere Castle and Bampton and John L. on the trip to Windsor Castle and to Heathrow. Our guides were very personable and knowledgeable and clearly love what they do...we enjoyed their fun personalities and thoroughly enjoyed our day with each of them. They never "lectured" about the areas we visited...they told stories that really made the area and the historical significance come to life for us. The Mercedes vehicles were very comfortable and had lovely air-conditioning for us Americans. :-) Eddie was very flexible and accommodating in allowing us to modify some of their tours with our requests and interests. We can't recommend the team highly enough and would definitely book with them again.

Negative experience: What We Booked: 8-hour Cotswolds tour from Bath to Broadway The Good: Our driver John was polite and accommodating when we made specific requests for villages to visit. The Concerns: 1. Limited commentary: John rarely spoke unless we asked direct questions. He didn't explain why he chose certain villages, provide background about the Cotswolds region, or tell us what to expect at each stop. 2. Poor communication: We were never told where we were going next, making the tour feel disorganized. 3. Restaurant choice: We were taken to an isolated pub with mediocre food, limited seating, and unfriendly staff. Given the many charming pubs in the Cotswolds, this seemed like an odd choice. 4. Had to repeat requests: We asked three times to visit Bourton-on-the-Water before he agreed to include it. Bottom Line: Despite extensive email correspondence before the tour about our interests, the experience felt generic and uninformative. As first-time Cotswolds visitors, we left feeling we'd missed out on learning about this beautiful region. The contrast was stark when we had a taxi driver (different company) the following day who provided excellent commentary and local insights. For Future Travelers: Consider asking upfront about the level of commentary provided and whether you'll have input on restaurant/pub selections. I would also recommend getting more information on the tour guide they will be using. Many people in the reviews raved our by guide by name. I would have loved one of those guides.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful tour experience with David! We had a one day tour with stops at Jeremy Clarkson’s businesses and visiting beautiful villages in the Cotswold. I highly recommend Cotswold Tour and Travel and our tour guide, David, as they made booking the tour so easy and focused on what we wanted to see. Fantastic experience: We've had the most wonderful experience with this company. We had tours with them two days in a row and they were both very enjoyable and informative. Mark was great at explaining the architecture, history, and etymology of the places we went. Our second guide Rob was extremely accommodating and patient with the mix up that occurred due to some miscommunication with our travel agency. He made sure we still got to do everything we wanted even though it meant a longer day than anticipated for him. He also made sure the whole day was entertaining and informative. He was also a very patient and careful driver even though we encountered a lot of traffic and hiccups. We would highly recommend booking tours with this company.

Fantastic experience: I really appreciated how personalized everything was, Rob took the time to take us to villages and towns (there’s a distinct difference I’ve learned) and he willingly took pictures of our family. We had mentioned how much we loved Clarkson’s Farm and he made us very special so that we could see what we wanted to. Cannot recommend enough.

He was very knowledgeable as he has lived in the area for many years. We wanted to see the Jeremy Clarkson sites as well as take our daughter to the Cotswolds Farm to see the animals. He made it all happen and we saw additional things that he knew would interest us. Our 8 yr old daughter thought Rob did an excellent job and he made it really fun for her! Fantastic experience: We recently returned from a five-day private tour with Cotswolds Tours, and it was the highlight of our trip to England. Our primary interest was gardens, and the itinerary was beautifully tailored to showcase both iconic destinations and hidden gems. Because this was a multi-day private tour, Cotswolds Tours arranged for different guides with deep local expertise in the specific areas we visited each day. We were especially impressed with John Bevan, Scott Curtis, and John Loader; each brought a distinct style, but all were exceptional storytellers with a passion for the region’s history, culture, and landscapes. Their insights brought every stop to life in such a meaningful way. Traveling in a private Mercedes van gave us access to small villages, scenic backroads, and tucked-away gardens that larger tour groups simply can’t reach. Most of our route was delightfully off the beaten path, but we also made a few special stops at our request, including Highgrove Gardens (His Majesty’s residence) and Highclere Castle, of Downton Abbey fame. Although lodging wasn’t included in the tour package, the team recommended Lords of the Manor, a quiet, elegant, and romantic hotel that turned out to be the perfect base for our adventure. This tour was seamless, immersive, and thoughtfully curated from start to finish. If you’re looking for a bespoke experience in the Cotswolds we cannot recommend Cotswolds Tours highly enough. It was truly an unforgettable journey.

Fantastic experience: We had a phenomenal experience with Cotswold Tours. From the start, they were responsive and really worked with us to customize a day itinerary that was great for our family of four. Our guide was Rob, and can;t speak highly enough of him. He has 6 grandkids and was able to engage our 6 and 8 year old right away, make it fun, not have them be in the car too long, etc. He arranged an incredible lunch at a wonderful and charming inn/pub where we had a wonderful lunch sitting in the garden -- it seemed to be off the tourist route and we had it with only a few others tables. Food was amazing and the setting top notch. Rob also knew that the boys were into cars and arranged for us to stop off at an luxury antique car garage where the kids went crazy over Rolls, Royces, Ashton Martins, Bentley and much more. Our experience was one of the highlights from our trip and definitely ask for Rob -- we count ourselves lucky. Pieter R.

Fantastic experience: Where do I even start??? Choosing to do a tour with this company was the best decision I made for our England trip! From the beginning of the booking process to the end of our tour, we experienced professionalism and kindness! They were great with communication as well. We had an awesome tour guide, James! He was so patient, nice, and had so much knowledge about the region! I had my mom and two grandmothers with me. I truly appreciate his patience as my grandmothers are older and hard of hearing. I had given a list of places we wanted to see and he mentioned that he would also take us to some hidden gems. And I’m so glad he did! He took us to an old silversmith and we got to visit his small shop. It was a step back in time! It was so interesting to talk to the silversmith about his old family business and explore his work. We bought silver bracelets that he had made and I’m so glad we did. Every time I wear it, I am reminded of the trip and memories. Definitely a trip to cherish! Fantastic experience: Eddie and Katy were very helpful setting up our full day guided tour of the Cotswolds. They were super responsive, answered several questions and even gave us a very good recommendation for a lunch spot (lovely patio and best fish and chips of our trip). Peter, our driver for the day, was on-time (actually early) and had a full day mapped out for us in advance. Before heading off he asked for input on his suggested itinerary which was much appreciated and we asked to focus on more off the beaten path stops. He very much listened and while we hit a few of the “must see” spots, we spent a lot of our day wandering much less crowded (but equally charming) villages. He also had some great anecdotes about some of the more colorful past residents of the Cotswolds. It was a great relaxing day and so nice to be able to relax and enjoy the scenery and not having to drive

We were planning to be in the Cotswolds for a week, but we were nervous about driving ourselves, and frankly we wanted local experts to show us the area, tell us about the history, and direct us to the gems we would never find on our own. All our goals were met by the entirely delightful professionals at Cotswold Tours & Travels. For 5 days, we had a local expert pick us up at our lodgings and drive us for the day as they showed us hidden gems, explained the history, took us to some great shops, parked and walked us around towns and villages, took our pictures in perfect surroundings....each driver was very responsive to whatever whims we had about pictures, shopping, sightseeing, eating. Our drivers were Kate, Vince, and Mark. Each was so personable and accommodating. They messaged us the night before just to "touch base" and remind us of our pickup time. The communication was excellent. There is nothing worse than uncertainty of communication, esp. when you are on vacation. Every one of our expectations was met. Each driver was on time or early. You could do no better than choosing Cotswold Tours & Travel for your next Cotswolds vacation.

Fantastic experience: We had two drivers and a gentleman tour guide that gave us the most impressive tour experiences through the Southern Cotswolds. Freddy gave us a FABULOUS 4 hour walking tour through Bath, and was kind noticing our walking limitations and took it our pace. Then we had Steve Notgoodenough as a driver for two days which was also wonderful. We ended our tour with Fred Fraser on our last day in Oxford, and he was absolute BRILLIANT! He asked us questions, picked up on what experiences we had missed and provided a glance or two of what he could. He took us to a fabulous pub for a true pub experience which is one thing we had been missing. All in all, I’d 100% recommend this tour company. They know what they’re doing! We will be back soon!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I booked this trip for our 20th wedding anniversary. This was our first visit to the Cotswolds. We wanted an authentic experience that minimized anything "touristy" by as much as possible. Cotswolds Tours & Travel absolutely delivered. Best vacation ever. We spent a full day with two different tour guides (Mark & Rob) and each was excellent. My wife and I were a bit concerned about spending a full day with one person on a private tour. What if we did not like the guide? Would we grow fatigued of having to "be on" all day with someone unfamiliar. NONE of this happened. It was such a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Another point....these tour guides are true locals. The Cotswolds is their actual home, so they both love the area and also know it intimately. We took so many cool backroads throughout the region with cool stories along the way. We will return to the Cotswolds for years to come and would never even consider exploring any other touring company. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Booked a private tour and spent the day with Mr. Robin Dale who is so knowledgeable about the different villages and history of the area. He showed me some of his hedgelaying work and was so generous with his knowledge. He always ensured I had enough time to explore the areas on my own and that I saw everything I wanted to see. What a unique experience - another human sharing their life history with you as you visit the most picturesque spots. I will remember this day for a long time to come!

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I had a wonderful time. John was our guide and he was very accommodating and full of knowledge. As a special treat, we were able to talk to Robin, as my daughter is a huge Clarkson Farm fan. She couldn't stop smiling! He was so informative and so pleasant to talk to--full of stories! We also visited the Farm, even though it was closed due to the season and the The Farmer's Dog Pub, which was open, so that meant she got to buy the souvenirs she wanted. It was our first time in England and we stayed in London, however, touring the Cotswolds gave us the experience of everything we 'think' of when we think of England. The old buildings, walls, hills, sheep--the history. My favorite was Upper and Lower Slaughter, along with their stories. Plus, my first time driving on a Roman-built road! 2,000 years old-wow--that's a big thing to someone who loves history, and the type of thing you can't find in America. But thank you again for the great experience. It was definitely one of the top 3 highlights of our trip!
