Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Lake District adventuring to anyone looking for a fun activity with friends or family. We went abseiling with Jack and loved it. He was really chilled and friendly and great at talking you through everything or supporting you when needed. The place we did the abseil was beautiful too! Overall, we had a fantastic time!

Fantastic experience: This is the second time be have booked Ghyll scrambling with Jack. My eldest requested it for her 15th birthday whilst we were on holiday in the lakes. Safety is always paramount and Jack puts us all at ease before setting off, explaining the conditions and what to expect. Despite visiting the same venue the experience was completely different this time, again with plenty of variety. Jack’s pitch is perfect with both our children (8 & 15) and he got extra brownie points for bringing chocolates for the eldest birthday. Already looking to book another visit in the summer so our nephew can experience the adventure. One not to miss when in the lakes. 100% recommend 10/10 or as my 8 year old rated it one zillion out of 10

Fantastic experience: The Gorge scrambling at Stickle Barn was brilliant, great for beginners and families. Jack was a fantastic leader, he made it a lot of fun and guided us up the river, encouraging us all the way. Our 9 year old was a bit tentative but he took her under his wing and helped her confidence grow as we went along. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a different kind of adventure up the mountains. Cheers Jack, top man!

Fantastic experience: My family and I had a fantastic morning of rock climbing with Jack. Jack was extremely encouraging, knowledgable and funny. Our group included two boys (14 and 12 yrs) and Jack was great at giving them plenty of instruction, challenges and the opportunity to have another go. We all felt extremely safe, especially as Jack is part of the local mountain rescue team (most reassuring). Thank you, Jack, for a wonderful morning of rock climbing!

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed my Blencathra and Sharp Edge hiking adventure with Jack. It was a memorable experience for all the right reasons. Lovely guy, he made me feel at ease on the scramble. Jack works for mountain rescue and clearly knows his stuff. He was happy to take me out for the right amount of time, whereas other guides wanted to charge me double for a slower version of the same walk. Friendly and helpful, he offered to give me advice in the future. Would highly recommend him for guided hikes, runs & climbing adventures. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Jack recommended we did the Church Beck canyoning rather than Stickle Barn as we were an adult group. We had a fantastic adrenaline filled time. So invigorating and Nathan was a fantastic instructor that put us at ease and guided us expertly. Had so much fun leaping into waterfall pools, traversing rocks and sliding down natural slides. Negative experience: Do not book a 3 peaks challenge with this company - they’ll mess you about refusing to commit to it going ahead, and then cancel it 16 days before the challenge (with no suggestion of doing other dates or anything, just ‘its not happening’) left me scrabbling around, super stressed, trying to find another company to go with last minute. I’d even made the guy aware weeks beforehand that I was doing this for charity and had committed to going in June.. again, the attitude was just ‘tough luck’ basically.

Fantastic experience: An absolutely brilliant experience! We booked for a family of 4 (2 adults and kids aged 10 and 12) to go ghyll scrambling in Church Beck. We booked directly though the Adventuring website which was convenient and easy to do. Jack was our guide for the afternoon. He was fantastic, very knowledgeable and made us and more importantly, the kids feel at ease, The experience as a whole was just the best day out, without a doubt the most ‘organised fun’ we’ve had! The ghyll scrambling down the small waterfalls was more challenging than we expected and the jumps were the perfect level of fear while knowing you were in safe hands. Would totally recommend to anyone looking for a fun day out in the lakes!

Fantastic experience: What an awesome day. Pinnacle Ridge in the beautiful Grisedale Valley. Jack was superb, took the time to teach the basics and all round mountain safety adding up to a great climb and scramble. Great chat in and out and he also laid on stunning weather too. So good to find such a good all round guide in the Lakes.

Fantastic experience: Guided tour up scafell pike from seathwaite. Great day all round for my first mountain climb up a beautiful route. I was nervous about being slow but no need. Steve the guide was very patient, encouraging and great company. He explained how to tackle the scrambling, which I didn't have a clue about, and how to navigate more tricky declines. We went at my pace with plenty of stops to refule! Feeling very accomplished and had a fab day!

Our guide James was a wealth of information and made the trip into an amazing experience. From informing us of the weather forecast beforehand, to offering different routes up and down the summit, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. An excellent operation which we'll use again.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding! Unfortunately, Jack was unable to take us 11 ladies up Scarfell, however, he didn’t leave us stranded and arranged for David to take us. What can I say. From the moment we all met up in the ‘correct ‘car park, David was friendly, charming and probably a little nervous about how the day was going to go. Well we had got lost getting to the car park! With a large group of ladies with different experience levels, David always made sure everyone was ok (and not lost). Regular stops due to heat and group separation ensured a safe passage up to Scarfell pike. Every step of the way was full of knowledge on the area, fun facts and LOTS of laughter. Rather than going back down the way we came, he suggested a number of alternatives and we ended up heading across to Lingmell and back down to the car park. I know the others On the group will agree, but I genuinely had the best weekend navigating the unbelievably breathtaking views of the Lakes. Having such an incredible guide/leader just topped it off. It would not have been the same!! Thank you so much David (and jack)!!! Definitely will be back soon!!!

Fantastic experience: Had an absolutely awesome time with Jack at church beck, ghyll scrambling. Our third time of meeting Jack and his team. Last year we climbed helvellyn and did some abseiling. He is kind and patient, especially when my two teens were speeding along and I was lagging behind. He gave me the confidence to do the jumps and I came away feeling very proud of myself for overcoming some fears. As always my boys and husband loved his friendly style. Fantastic experience: We used Lake District Adventuring for a group of 10 ladies walking Scafell Pike. Jack was very helpful before the walk and provided us with a very experienced and professional mountain guide called David. He was beyond excellent and was a real support to all of our group. We also met Tony, who is also your guide and was lovely and so professional. It was the best choice to get a guide and for us all to be able to enjoy the walk knowing someone was there to step in if we needed it (which David did on several occasions!). He was also our cameraman for the day and got us some excellent shots! I would 100% use them again and would absolutely recommend them.

On what could have been a complete wash out due to atrocious weather, the lads did an outstanding job of motivating, keeping us together and leading us to achieve what is undoubtedly the best we could have done under the circumstances. Their knowledge, experience and instinctive decision making was second to none and at no point did we feel in danger or vulnerable despite some pretty dreadful conditions. They were calm, patient and came across as three very impressive individuals. Brilliant day.

Fantastic experience: Gruelling and exhausting 10 hour charity walk but, super rewarding and expertly guided by Jack and his team. The weather was horrendous with -10, ice and 60 mph wind. We were able to adapt (be dynamic as Jack likes to use), stay safe but still challenge ourselves with 2.3km of ascent over the 10 hours. Look no further if you need an expert guide for your time in the Lakes.

Fantastic experience: Experience the Lake District in a whole new way with Jack and the team at Lake District Adventuring. I've been canyoning and Ghyll Scrambling with them and both experiences have been nothing but brilliant. We're already looking at how to book a third adventure. On my last adventure I brought my 10 year old, who enjoyed the experience so much. Jack was brilliant and encouraging them, whilst respecting their boundaries if they felt scared leaving my child with confidence and feeling safe. Cannot recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant day out with the family, absolutely fantastic experience. We did rock climbing in the morning and abseiling in the afternoon. Olly tailored it to our individual levels and was a fabulous instructor (with a lot of knowledge about the local geography). Highly recommend.

Negative experience: *UPDATE: Refund has been processed. Thanks Jack.* We were in the lake district for a week in August with the family. We booked and paid for rock climbing for myself and two sons with Jack from Lake District Adventuring. Unfortunately on the evening before the scheduled booking Jack messaged to say he had double booked us and needed to cancel. We should get a cancellation confirmation and full refund. As you can imagine, this was a huge disappointment and left us scrambling around trying to find some alternative to do but equally exciting for the boys. It wasn't easy at such short notice, everyone was booked out as it was height of summer holidays.

Fantastic experience: A faultless and absolutely perfect experience! I booked for my husband and I to go Eskdale ghyll scrambling for his 30th birthday. I booked directly though the Adventuring website which was super convenient and easy to do. Jack was out with another group so we had Pete as our guide. Pete was fantastic, very knowledgeable and made us feel at ease. Plus we had a lovely chat long the way and he was a cracking photographer with all the best spots for a photo opp. The experience as a whole was just the best day out, without a doubt the most ‘organised fun’ we’ve had! The ghyll scrambling up the small waterfalls was more challenging than we expected and the jumps were the perfect level of fear while knowing you were in safe hands. Would totally recommend to anyone looking for a fun day out in the lakes! We’re hoping to book in for another adventure soon!

Fantastic experience: I've been on quite a few outdoor excursions but nothing like what was being offered here! Jack made sure we all stayed safe and had fun, brilliant at what he does. Whatever it is you do with him you'll be in safe hands! Myself and my family did abseiling and Ghyll scrambling, and both activities were a treat for an adrenaline seeker like me, and for my mother who has mobility issues. It is perfect for pretty much anyone! Jack runs his activities wonderfully, and I can't wait for my next chance to go thrill seeking under his care! Fantastic experience: I went abseiling whilst traveling the Lake District this week and had one of the best times ever doing this activity. I had so much fun, I knew I was in safe hands and would 100% do it again. Well worth it!!

Fantastic experience: The National 3 Peaks challenge was an incredible experience and led extremely well by Jack. He was transparent with the challenge ahead and gave us great confidence that we could successfully complete the challenge in an awesome time. The trip was smooth and organised well, Jack’s experience and knowledge help set us to complete the challenge in 22 hours and 5 minutes. The trip was postponed from 2020 due to COVID restrictions but Jack has always been happy to keep in touch and adjust the booking to suit our group. I couldn’t recommend highly enough!

Fantastic experience: Had the BEST time abseiling with Jack. He is great at putting you at ease and knows what he is doing. I was terrified of doing the abseil and was full sure I would back out but he was very calming and helped me overcome my fears and I couldn't be more grateful. It's the best feeling after you've done it! So much fun and in a really cool location. If you are unsure what to do in the Lakes do this! Incredibly professional, chatty and immediately made us feel at ease. He was very encouraging and helpful during moments where we felt less confident, was accommodating and made the experience really fun. I thought this might have been an easy going trip but oh my the jumps were something else - a great experience and would encourage anyone looking to do something a little different to try it! We went past a few groups doing similar things and I can say with confidence that we were so pleased to have Jack as our guide! We also went abseiling with Jack this morning, both my partner and I are scared of heights but Jack made us feel so at ease and supported (and is also a great laugh!) that we ended up doing the bigger abseil twice - surprising both of us that we even made it up there to start with. The views are also amazing and is just an all round great trip!! We will definitely be booking to come back to the lakes for a holiday later this year and will 100% be booking in more activities with Lake District Adventuring!

Fantastic experience: Today we tried Gorge Scrambling... Our guide Jack is the epitomy of let's stay safe, have the best time possible and try some boundary testing jumps and slides BUT, if that's not 100% in your ability, let's quickly Segway into an equally cool alternative to keep your pride intact. It was raining a little and it was somewhat chilly. Before you knew it we were putting on wet suits to get into a cold ravine but none of it phased us because Jack and his team are very positive and it sticks quick. We have absaeling tomorrow and while we're optimistically nervous, meeting the team has definitely made us more positive about taking on something new. If your in the lake district, save some time just to branch out for a morning/ afternoon for something different.

Fantastic experience: Myself, sister and Dad had a fantastic morning adventure at Church Beck. Once we were suited a booted, we had our safety briefing and headed for the water. This was all great fun, and we had beautiful weather which was very lucky! When we met our first jumping area, it was nerve wracking and I froze but Jack was incredibly patient and encouraging and we all completed the challenge. There was so much laughter and fun, the whole experience was hugely enjoyable. Would definitely do it again and recommend to all! Thank-you Jack for an awesome day

Fantastic experience: What an amazing experience abseiling with Jack. I never thought at nearly 50 I'd be abseiling down a quarry but what an adrenalin rush! I couldnt have wished for a beter instructor, Jack was so patient and made me feel at ease. I can't wait to go ghyll scrambling!
