Fantastic experience: Family self guided canoeing, camping trip in Sweden was fantastic. Organisation and communication from all at Nature Travels was perfect and a last minute forgotten gear issue was swiftly solved. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for an adventure and something a bit different and I certainly found it with a husky dog sledging trip to Jamtland in Sweden with Nature Travels. It was my first trip with them and I found them very responsive, helpful and professional. The trip was well planned with a training day to learn how to handle the dogs and the sledge, followed by a two-day trip with an overnight stay in a heated tipi. We also took in ice fishing and snowshoeing and had a brilliant time. It was lovely to be outdoors in the peace of the countryside with the sound of the dogs enthusiastically pulling us through the snow. The hospitality at the base and on the camp was excellent, with delicious food and pleasant company. I would recommend this trip. You will need to be reasonably fit and up for a challenge. Enjoy.

Fantastic experience: I've just returned from a wonderful Husky Sledding trip to Sweden. The communication with Nature Travels before the trip was really prompt and efficient and our hosts Katerina and Jachym were hugely passionate about their amazing dogs. The food was wonderful throughout and Katerina and Jachym made so much effort to ensure we had the best possible experience. I would thoroughly recommend the trip.

Fantastic experience: First time using Nature Travels Ltd and really impressed with their organisation of the trip. Spent one week on their self guided Discover Cross Country Skiing trip in the Rondane, Norway. Had an amazing time based at two mountain lodges with fantastic hosts. Great track skiing and even had some blue skies ! Surpassed our expectations and would highly recommend them for your future travel adventures.

Negative experience: We have just returned from Nature Travels 'Skating on Wild Ice'. In my opinion this tour is for more experienced skaters than the travel brief states I expressed my opinions to Nature Travels who took them on board. A 10% refund was also given. My family and I travelled with Nature Travels many years ago on a trip to Varmlands in Sweden and I enjoyed that experience.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend this tour company enough. We did the natural ice skating in Sweden and it was phenomenal. Our guide Björn was excellent and made the trip incredible. It was such an amazing experience that is difficult to put into words. You just have to go yourself and you will understand! I will definitely be going back!

Fantastic experience: My week-long ski trip through Lapland was nothing short of spectacular! We spent the entire week skiing through breathtaking landscapes, moving from one cozy mountain hut to the next. There’s something incredibly special about skiing in the winter darkness, surrounded by the peaceful silence of nature. We were lucky enough to witness the northern lights dancing across the sky, and the colors in the landscape—especially during the low winter sun—were absolutely stunning. The entire experience felt like something out of a dream. The huts provided a simple yet charming place to rest after each day’s adventure. The solitude and serenity of the mountain refuges made every night feel peaceful, and despite the work involved in getting everything ready, the sense of satisfaction at the end of each day was unparalleled. Overall, this was a truly unforgettable experience, one that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an adventure that combines nature, serenity, and a touch of magic. Lapland in the winter is a must-see!

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from our wild ice skating adventure in Sweden. It was honestly the best experience of our lives and can not wait to get back on the lakes next year. We booked via Nature Travels in the UK who were so helpful and informative, responding quickly to any questions we had and was confident were were prepared enough for our first time skating. It wasn't however, until we met our guide Peter at the airport that we truly knew it was going to be the best holiday ever. Peter was AMAZING! So knowledgable but most of all, the best fun, who made us all feel really comfortable and safe. He made the trip our trip, letting us be fully involved in what, where and when we skated with his expert guidance. Each day was completely different, Peter guiding us where to go to cover as many different types of lakes and ice as possible in the 4 days. It was tough, you do have to be fit but our guide made sure no-one was left behind and we went at a pace we were all comfortable with. The accommodation was so much better than we had anticipated and all shopping and cooking together just added to the fun we had with our new skating friends. We even had a frozen lake in the garden which made a night time and a sunrise skate possible, it was truly magical. It is an experience I will never forget and know we will now skate every season. Can not stop looking at the videos and pictures and already planning our next trip.

Fantastic experience: I have been waiting over a decade to do this trip, so my expectations were absurdly high. My wife although looking forward to it, had some trepidation. My two boys were just excited to be in charge of picking where we would camp each evening! So how could this canoeing trip cater for all? The answer is that everyone had a fantastic time. The whole experience was exceptional. The information about the trip answered all the questions and all the staff were friendly and helpful. But the star of the show was undoubtably the trip. As you carry everything you need there is a beautiful freedom to the day. When do you get up/eat/swim/find a camp site? Time has so little meaning when in an incredible natural environment and there is always the question of what you’ll find around the next bend. Adventure means different things to different people, but our family certainly found one in Sweden.

Fantastic experience: Our second time with Nature travels and hopefully not our last. They link up with brilliant local companies who know their patch inside out. The support and information offered beforehand is so detailed and helpful. The Tours are brilliant (rafting and exploration of the Stockholm archipelago) and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Fantastic experience: We travelled to Stockholm Archipelago for a 5 day / 4 night self-guided sea-kayak trip. I can't recommend this highly enough, the whole experience from booking through to returning our gear was first rate - my only negative was that there was way too much food provided! A beautiful place, and top-rate reliable kit (eg. Urberg, Haglofs). Nature Travels were always communicative and helpful, and the local operator ('Get Out' kayaks) was really well set up. We're now planning our next trip with them.

Fantastic experience: Wilderness Dogsled Adventure in Vindelfjällen I went on this incredible adventure with a good mate (another Australian) and we were very lucky to have two adventurous and capable guys from France who joined us for the trip. Petter Karlsson led the trip and he gave us the most wonderful experience we could imagine. Those 6 days surpassed all of our expectations. There was adventure, excitement, challenges, and even some real hardship at times but it all added up to a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you so much Petter for trusting us 4 novices with your beloved dogs and thank you so much for taking us to the most incredible places. We’ll never forget the experience and we’ll never forget your sense of humour and evening stories of all your experience in racing and looking after your dogs. If you’re thinking about doing this trip then don’t hesitate. It was sooooooo good!! But be ready for some real challenges. It’s so much more than just riding along on the back of a sled. And a huge thanks to Angela who looked after us so well at the start and end of the trip and for providing all the food and other necessities for the trip. And a big thanks to Nature Travels who were very easy to deal with and very helpful whenever we had questions.

Positive experience: Brilliant Arctic Nordic ski touring hut to hut expedition to the highest point in Finland on the mountain Halti. Great guide Joose. Energetic but not exhausting. Some 20 kilometres days hauling 25kg on a pulk but we were up to the challenge! Beautiful star light nights with Aurora Borealis on three nights. Cosy huts. Good international company. Spectacular Arctic scenery. Good information and knowledgeable advice before the tour. Highly recommended!!

Fantastic experience: Nature Travel delivered a truly magical experience when we went dog sledding in Lapland. The information on the website was clear and precise and the booking process easy. Before we travelled we were sent a detailed dossier on what to expect and what we needed which was excellent and covered everything. The whole event in Sweden was amazing well organised and delivered a bucket list experience. The highlight of course was the dogs who were loving enthusiastic and amazing. Our guide Martin was informative and helpful. The amazing Swedish nature and the immersive interaction was great. Fantastic experience: I've just returned from Husky sledding near Kiruna in Sweden. I can quite honestly say that it was one of the best experiences of my life!! The thrill of dog sledding is incredible. Being amongst such glorious nature, away from it all, is an amazing feeling. The dogs - and the people! - were all lovely, and I enjoyed spending time with them. Yes, it is difficult having no running water or electricity (you will so appreciate them on your return!), but that was all part of the experience. You just have to totally throw yourself in to it. Many thanks to Martin and his dogs for making this such a memorable trip, and to Niki, Bob and the team for really outstanding customer service. No query too small or daft for them! I'm already looking at booking to go again next year! Thank you all!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Just returned from the husky sledding in Finnmark, Norway. One of the best experiences of my life! The dogs are amazing and to drive the sled in an untouched wilderness is beyond beautiful. Nature travels kept me fully updated and were most helpful. Also a very good price compared to similar trips. I would definitely use them again.

Fantastic experience: Perfect organization and communication of Nature Travels. They booked me the best trip in my life - Dog sledding in Vindelfjälen (5 days). This trip was supposed to be for 4 people + guide, unfortunately all the guests got sick... so I had a private tour, on my birthday! Everything was perfect - lovely dogs, beautiful snowy landscape and complete silence (until the dogs started barking because they were excited ). I definitely recommend this travel agency.

Fantastic experience: Just had a brilliant canoeing holiday in the Rogen nature reserve in Sweden. We really enjoyed the quiet and lack of bright lights. We were fortunate to be there at the start of Autumn and it was great to watch the colour palette change to yellow (birches) and red (bilberries) over the week of our trip. Nature Travels work with some fantastic partners in Scandinavia. This wasn't our first trip with them and it won't be our last.

Fantastic experience: Carmen has put together an amazing 6 day biking, hiking and canoeing trip. So well organised! We loved the accommodation that was chosen, especially Malby manor with all food grown on their farm. Thank you for such a memorable holiday!

Fantastic experience: Our 4-day canoeing & camping holiday in Finland was absolutely amazing! We were given all the kit we needed (tent, sleeping bags, canoe, cooker etc) along with some guidance on the route we might like to take - but we had complete freedom to choose whatever we wanted to do for our tour so so long as we ended up back at the canoe centre on our final day. Being able to pick an island for ourselves for the night was a brilliant experience - we stayed at two campsites and wild camped one night. We were also provided with fishing equipment so that we could catch ourselves some fresh fish from the lake for dinner! Would absolutely consider returning for another holiday with Nature Travels - and have recommended to many of my friends and family who enjoy active outdoor holidays.

Positive experience: Although we really enjoyed the Aurora Husky Adventure in Finnmark-Norway. We were bitterly disappointed to find we did NOT each have our own sled and dog-team. In actual fact the operators tied two sleds together and combined 8 dogs for the 2 sleds. This resulted in the person on the rear sled having no control, limited view/vision and being thrown around like a cork on the ocean (extremely uncomfortable). Please make sure if you book this operator, you understand you will NOT have your own sled.

Fantastic experience: Adding a further 5 star rating, not that they need it, as they have plenty, but well deserved. I chose this company based on the positive feedback I read, and was not disappointed. I had a very quick response following my initial enquiry, and during my subsequent contacts I found them very accomodating, responsive and helpful, despite my at times tedious questions. It all resulted in a most wonderfull 2 and a bit days dogsleding trip (officially it is the family trip, but can be adjusted by the guide depending on the abilities of the participants; plenty of snowy paths to choose from) . Rebecca, our guide was fantastic, very personable and very skillful in handling the dogs, and the expansive, silent and peacefull white landscapes (forests, frozen lakes) were just fantastic. An overall delightful and unforgettable experience.

Fantastic experience: The 8 day mountain dog sledding experience surpassed my expectations. Our guide Patrik was fantastic. I felt save at all times and he made me feel confident. The scenery was incredible, the food was plentiful and delicious. The best bit was the gorgeous friendly dogs whom I fell in love with Grestt trip, great group of like-minded people and wonderful memories.

Fantastic experience: This March I had a wonderful ski tour through Käsivarsi Wilderness Area. Our guide Chris, a Finish speaking British guide, looked excellently after us and was very knowledgeable. The days were full of gliding, more often walking, through stunning landscapes. The aim was skiing up Halti, one of the highest mountains in Finland. The downhill run was great and not too challenging. It was quite a demanding tour with pulling sledges and carrying a backpack. The daily distances were just right with uphill and downhill bits. The huts were warm, once the stoves were lit, and comfortable. We carried all our food, and it was mostly very good. We even had some grouse provided by two Finish hunters. Our group, Brits, Americans and Germans, worked really well together and it seems we all had a wonderful time. A really phantastic buffet dinner with a beer on the last evening together finished the trip. I can recommend this trip to everybody, but you need to have a good degree of fitness and stamina. I look forward to the next trip in 2024.

Fantastic experience: My 6 day lava tour in the Abisko mountains was truly outstanding. Our leader Lukas kept us safe and motivated throughout the trip.

Fantastic experience: We did the 8 day northern lights dog sledding tour over Christmas and had the time of our lives. I'd looked forward to doing this trip for years and saved it for 50th birthday and still it surpassed anything I could've imagined or dreamed of. Everything was so perfect it was like being trapped inside a Christmas card for a week, right down to the northern lights appearing in all their glory complete with shooting stars, on my actual birthday! Just magical. The northern lights were only an added bonus though as for me, it was all about the dogs. The kennel staff, our guide and everyone involved with our sledding trip looked after us and the dogs very well. All dietary requirements were catered for without issue which is impressive indeed when you're up above the Arctic Circle. Nature Travels provided us with a very personal, individual service answering every question and query with a sound and thorough knowledge of our trip. I can't recommend this trip and this company highly enough. I'm so glad we found them, it couldn't have worked out better.

Fantastic experience: We have just come back from the most amazing 4 day trip to the Vindelfallens Nature Reserve in Northern Sweden. Angelina was our brilliant guide who had bundles of energy and made it such a great experience (along with the delicious home cooked food by Angela!) The dogs were just incredible but definitely don’t have an off button. They had as much energy as Angelina! I get cold (with raynauds in fingers) but managed absolutely fine even in -28degree temperatures. The clothing and equipment provided are all excellent quality but just make sure you pack plenty of layers (and hand warmers if you do get cold hands like me!). Don’t miss the chance to do this - it really is a magical adventure. We will definitely go back!

Fantastic experience: My partner and I recently returned from the Canoe Getaway in Skåne (Sweden) and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Pre departure, the booking process was simple and easy. Bob and Sofia were absolutely brilliant and provided us with all the information we needed. Upon arriving in Sweden, the staff at the canoe centre were friendly and helpful! The lake was absolutely stunning. Each island we stayed on was so clean and well looked after. If you do this trip, I recommend staying on Eno. We even saw a Red Kite! You can also purchase a fishing rod and finishing license from the canoe hire centre for while you are on the lake. I recommend this trip to anyone, especially if you are new to canoeing. This was the first time we had done a holiday like this and it suited our abilities/experience perfectly.

At the reception, in Sweden, we received warm welcome and all information to be ready and safe. Fantastic experience: Wonderful time staying at the Romantic Cabin Getaway in Paijanne Tavastia. The peace and quiet was outstanding and the cabin itself perfect for two. The accommodation was very well equipped, and the sauna and hot tub a real bonus. Although the area feels very remote the cabin is an easy two hour drive from Helsinki and only a 10 minute drive from Sysma where you can find well stocked supermarkets and lovely cafes. There are lots of well marked walking trails in the area, but I would recommend hiring a car to make the most of the outstanding scenery. A perfect and much needed break following the difficulties of the past two years - we really did not want to leave

Fantastic experience: We took part in a 4 day, 3 night dog sledding tour in Slussfors, Sweden and when I tell you it was an experience of a lifetime, that is an understatement! Nature Travels were great at organising the trip for us and were always there for any of our silly questions, sorted out allergies, and helped with transport once in Sweden: we took the overnight train from Stockholm to get to the kennels, and then flew back to Stockholm. The dog sledding itself has always been a dream of mine and it felt so surreal to be out there in the wilderness with my family, the guide, and the dogs. The scenery of mountains, rivers, forests and iced over lakes was beyond stunning as well as the reindeer we spotted! We were so lucky with the sun - our lunch breaks were basically tanning sessions! However, I wouldn't underestimate the challenge dog sledding is. We did expect it to be a slight challenge but the physicality of it was hard-work every now and then in powdered melting snow, but the reward of taking it on over shadowed it. Thank you so much to Petter, Angela our hosts, Gabri our guide, and of course, the wonderful dogs for a trip of a lifetime! The hardest goodbye on a holiday yet, we will definitely try and come back - for more hugs from our canine friends!

Fantastic experience: Nature Travels helped me to organise a week in the far north of Sweden on The Husky Mountain Expedition in Lapland (Sweden). Bob at Nature Travels was really helpful throughout the entire booking process. They were very understanding and accommodating when all trips were moved from 2021 to 2022. A devastating time for all but the transfer was smooth. Bob equipped us with useful information on top of the excellent itinerary and kit list we were sent. We were provided with all the appropriate clothing on arrival, you just need to invest in good thermals and a few other bits of equipment in advance. We felt well prepared before setting off for what turned into an adventure of a lifetime. As the name suggests this is a mountain tour. You spend a very adventurous week working with your dogs, passing through some of the most incredible scenery along the King's Trail. Our tour guide, Alex, and his 31 dogs were amazing. We felt very safe in very capable hands, in such extreme conditions at time. His instruction was clear, direct, and his passion and devotion to his dogs was so evident. The dogs were in glorious condition and evidently love what they do. We were completely involved in the care of the dogs first and foremost, and ourselves, from gathering water to chopping wood and you must not shy away from the fact this is almost a working holiday. A nice hot sauna in the remote mountain range was a lovely end to the day and we enjoyed the Northern Lights on three nights. The relationship you form with your dogs is so special, working together to get to each mountain hut. The cabins were to be expected for 1100m up in some of the most remote land on the planet. I slept well each night! Thank you to all of those involved, a once in a lifetime opportunity - I'd drop everything to do it again!

Fantastic experience: Our three day dog sledding adventure with Nature Travels was incredible. Stunning scenery and a personal "Call of the Wild" bucket list experience. Perfect for anyone wanting to experience working with your own team of huskies travelling across frozen lakes and snow laden forests. The dogs are affectionate and perfect companions as they work hard to get you to your destination. Each night we bedded down in warm, candle lit cabins nestled in frozen forests with hearty and delicious food cooked and served by our wonderful guide. To cap it all we experienced two nights of the magical Northern Lights. We were lucky to be treated with this awe inspiring sight and added to an all ready perfect adventure. We all want to go again for longer and further! Some photos added of our time. I cannot recomend enough.

Fantastic experience: I had booked the discover wilderness canoe trip for the summer of 2021 but had to postpone due to covid travel restrictions not long before we were scheduled to leave. We were worried about losing our money or problems rebooking but Bob and the team at nature travels could not have been more helpful. We didn’t lose any of the money we had paid and were able to move our booking to this year with no hassle at all. We have been really impressed with the quality of communication and support the whole way through this difficult period and can’t wait to get out there this summer.

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from a (second - went in 2019, too) fantastic four-day skating trip to Sweden on the lakes near Stockholm. Particular praise must go to our guide John. Once again, he was scrupulous in the care he took of us, and the effort he put into finding the best skating conditions (pictures show three very different lakes and therefore ice). He was flexible enough to cater to the varying skills, ages and abilities of the group. We had lots of fun - including a barbecue on the last night on a small island in the middle of the lake and a (very careful) skate back under the stars. Our accommodation this time was a B&B in a stables, which was extremely comfortable and we were fortunate to have a sauna, too (which is the luck of the draw). While we did cook together and make our own breakfasts and lunches, John was a huge help with this, especially as we were provided with food that we just had to heat up on the first night (very welcome as some of us had spent the day skating, and others had had to travel all day due to their flight times so we arrived at the accommodation at 9). The customer service from Bob and Sophia at Nature Travels was, once again, outstanding. They are so helpful and professional. They answer questions quickly and patiently. I'm sure we'll be back. Fantastic experience: I booked the Discover Dog Sledding in Lapland (4 days/3 nights) tour and had the adventure of a lifetime! Bob and Sofia from Nature Travels were extremely helpful and responsive throughout, making the entire booking process as seamless as can be. Words cannot describe the magic and pure joy I felt this entire trip, but I'll give it a shot. This experience blew any expectations I had out of the water. Over the course of the trip, you are actively involved in the preparation and care of the dogs, as well as the cabin in which you are staying. Chopping wood, starting fires, and feeding and harnessing the dogs may be challenging at first, but you are well-rewarded with a sled ride through the gorgeous, snow-covered landscape of Sweden, and maybe even a glimpse of the Northern Lights! After a long day, you get a chance to reflect and relax, by sharing a meal and stories with your awesome guide (shoutout to Lukas!) and fellow travelers, finishing the night off with an authentic Swedish sauna experience. 10/10 — cannot wait for my next adventure!

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately my husband and son were not able to travel to Sweden as planned for their adventure due to current restrictions - however the support they received from the company whilst making the initial booking and information provided was outstanding, they couldn't have been more helpful. They have accommodated the various changes that were necessary due to travel restrictions and have agreed to re-schedule the trip for 2022 when hopefully the situation will have improved. They certainly can't wait and would highly recommend Nature Travels just based on the service alone received so far.

Fantastic experience: We booked a canoe trip in Sweden in 2020 which unfortunately had to be postponed because of Covid. We hoped to travel on the same trip again this year but again it has had to be postponed. On each occasion we have had great understanding and support from Bob and his team. Each time Nature Travels have offered us a choice of options and we have been able to transfer the trip to the following year. They have made sure we have all the information we need to make the decision of our choice. Hopefully we will be able to enjoy our planned trip in 2022. Thank you Nature Travels.

Fantastic experience: We’ve used Nature Travels twice in the past - wilderness canoeing in Rogen in Sweden and the Finland five day husky wilderness safari from Harriniva. Both absolutely brilliant experiences and well organised and would highly recommend. We had booked to do another dog sled trip in 2020 in Sweden which has been thwarted by covid 19. We were allowed to reschedule to 2021 and now offered a full refund as we still can’t travel. We’ve had horrendous experiences with other companies trying to get information and refunds. Nature Travels have been informative, professional, polite and honest throughout. Highly recommend - when you can travel book with them you won’t regret it!!!

Fantastic experience: We have been hoping for months that we would be able to go dog sledding in Kiruna with my friend and to see the Northern Lights. But alas, Corona has conspired against us and we can't go in a week's time as we were supposed to. Throughout all of this Bob has been incredibly supportive and responded to my e-mails on the same day. He was also very helpful on the phone. Right from the start last summer when we booked our trip, he assured us that if Covid did disrupt our travels, then there would be no issues to accommodate rebooking or a refund and true to his word, it has been all sorted without any hesitance, dispute or delay. In times like these, I have been very grateful for the professionalism and incredible helpfulness from this company and Bob in particular. I can say with a 100% conviction that as soon as it is possible to travel properly again, I will be choosing this company to go on our planned trip!

Fantastic experience: I booked with Nature Travels to go away to Sweden for my 30th in Jan but Covid had other plans and Bob has been very helpful in rebooking me for 2022. The information and advice has been top-notch throughout and the team helped me massively without any additional charges when my sister fell ill and I had to swap personnel details. Nature Travels were superb - when it became apparent that our original plans could not happen, they came up with a fantastic alternative, and were full of helpful information and totally flexible about our cancellation options. In the event, we got away just before the new restrictions came into force on 20 December and we were able to spend Christmas in Swedish Lapland, snow-mobiling and dogsledding with Nature Travels' excellent local partner JVT. What an amazing place, and what a wonderful experience, we would recommend it to anyone!

Fantastic experience: We have had an incredible challenge trying to arrange and then rearrange (twice!) a family holiday to Lapland through Nature Travels; the Covid pandemic has thrown every plan in disarray! But throughout the whole process, Bob has been so unbelievably helpful and constructive in getting things sorted for us. I can't recommend NT highly enough therefore.

Fantastic experience: Ice Skating on natural ice on the lakes around Stockholm was absolutely magical. From the traditional cabin accommodation, to the group dinners, to the amazing quality of the light on the ice and the sounds of skates carving the changing surface - it was the most memorable holiday for a long time. The need to focus on technique combined with beautiful peaceful surroundings completely distracted me from everyday concerns and I came home from four days feeling like I’d had several weeks of relaxation. The two local guides were highly knowledgeable and managed the group well, the flow of information from them and the NT office was just right. Could not recommend this firm highly enough and will definitely be adventuring with Nature Travels again.

Fantastic experience: I had booked a trip with nature travels to Sweden which I couldn't make due to Covid19. Bob from nature travels very kindly tried to change the dates to next year to help me out. I sadly was unable to do any of the trips next year and thought I would lose out on the money I had spent. Once it was seen the new dates could not work Bob very kindly offered a refund which I was very grateful for. Fantastic experience: This ski tour was excellent in every way. Skiing on narrow tracks through woods and marshes was so peaceful. The food and accommodation exceeded my expectations. I can recommend travelling by Finnish trains. Both the local guide and the people at Nature Travels were unfailingly knowledgeable and helpful. This is my third trip with Nature Travels. It will not be my last.

Fantastic experience: Superb Finnish cross-country ski tour along the Russian border. This was my second skiing trip with Nature Travels who provide a much better organised and personal service that the larger companies fail to provide. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: We booked a 3 day dog sledding trip with Nature Travels. The booking was flexible and painless, communication with the UK office was prompt and exhaustive. Our local guides picked us up at Kiruna airport, and all staff working with Jukkasjärvi Vildmarksturer were lovely and helpful. We went with our 8 year old and the three of us had our own guide! Marion tirelessly answered all questions pouring from our inquisitive son. The dogs were very friendly. Marion’s expert knowledge meant that our tour was perfectly adapted to a young child. A special thanks to our hard working dogs, especially Tiny and Blixten who tirelessly entertained our little boy.

Only 3 nights but enjoyed walking the trails, meeting the dogs and sledding with Melanie,snowmobile tour and lunch in the wild with Mats. Fantastic food in Franchesca's lodge. Everyone so friendly and we got to see the Northern Lights! Nature travels provided excellent information prior to leaving , all went to plan and I would highly recommend using their services.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic ice skating holiday in Sweden with Nature Travels, my second skating trip after travelling with them in 2019. The organisation and communication were first class. Eight of us had the services of a local guide with many years of experience and we were taken by minibus from the airport to lakes and hostels. Through careful research, the guide found the best places to skate each day, which on the last day meant moving hostels. This kind of flexibility ensured that we were not tied to an area where the conditions might not be ideal. We prepared our meals at the hostels, which is part of the appeal to me - plenty of good, filling food rather than being restricted to hotel menus.

Fantastic experience: Superbly organised holiday to the Swedish Lakes. Every detail was thought through and the logistics worked like clock work. The canoeing, camping, cycling, hiking holiday was a wonderful combination of activities and my 3 teenage girls had a ball! I would highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic canoe tour in Sweden, organised very efficiently by Nature Travels. They were really informative, super helpful and made sure our travel was smooth and painless. We had a wonderful time in the wilderness paddling through complete serenity, camping and cooking in the forest and fishing/birdwatching in the downtime. Would recommend a hundred times over.

Fantastic experience: Walking the Russian border in Finland. This was a fabulous week. The walking through marshland, woods and besides lakes was long but pleasant. Lunchtime around the fire with a Bush craft lesson from our wonderful guide Petri. A full day of canoeing with expert instruction. Basic but very comfortable lodgings, with the obligatory sauna every night. A great adventure in this remote wilderness.

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic week canoeing in Linnansaari National Park in the east of Finland. The lake is beautiful, with fabulous islands to camp on. It felt remote in the best possible way. Sunsets, swimming, fishing and exploring - all wonderful. The canoe centre at Oravi village, where we stayed before and after our trip had a great atmosphere, and a very good restaurant.

Fantastic experience: I first looked at Nature travels when I wanted to try out a European hike and I wasn't disappointed. From the moment my sister and I decided on doing the Kings Trail hike, the team at Nature Travels made everything so easy and helped us so much. From providing us all the options of flights and travel to then ensuring we had the complete itinerary and equipment list for every part of our week-long hike! And then the trip itself! It was incredible! The guys in Sweden, who Nature Travels work with are the STF Abisko travel facilitators and the guide that we wre provided was equally so so good! My sister is gluten intolerant and you wouldn't believe how accommodating every single mountain cabin we visited was. Vegan, gluten options always provided and although we felt that compared to British/UK standards that these guys went the extra mile when making sure my sister was well catered for, for them it was completely normal, so we felt so privileged and well treated! The trek itself was definitely worthwhile, it was tough in places and one day we did a huge 26KM roughly 10 hours of hiking - so so challenging but honestly the best day I've ever had! and the perfect training for the optional trek to the top of Mount Kebnikaise! Again thanks so much to Nature Travels for making the process so easy and we would definitely recommend the hike, and any other hike for that matter, because these guys are great! I'm looking into trying the winter husky sledding - so hopefully I'll be booking again soon! :D

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful weeks' canoeing on Svartälven in July : travel to Sweden was a breeze , everyone at the canoe camp was welcoming and super helpful , the kit was excellent ( including the food package which kept us more than well fed all week) , the scenery and canoeing was unbelievably beautiful with a great mixture of rivers and lakes and we loved camping on islands , beaches , bluffs and river banks. The peace and wildlife ( eagles , beavers , elks) was just lovely , the weather changeable enough for some excitement - scorching sun, thunderstorms , hail storms , more sun) ,while the portages kept us fit. Nature Travels was as ever a joy to book with - really helpful and nothing too much trouble. This was our third trip booked with them , and I'm sure won't be our last.

Fantastic experience: As one of the last tours in Lapland Sweden for before the warmer seasons came we had an amazing time. We can't thank the Nature Travels team enough for their care & follow up in organizing the tour for us. We were able to combine a dog sled tour through snow covered forest and across frozen rivers with a night in a remote log cabin and finish with a snowmobile tour the next day. Great fun! The dogs were hilarious fun and everyone we came in contact with including the guide were incredibly helpful & friendly. Next time we'll definitely stay longer & go further. Fantastic experience: Just returned from a fantastic 5 day dog sledding trip to Sweden. We were looked after really well by guide Flo & the rest of the kennel team. The kennels are a really impressive operation with the dogs really well cared for. It is a real revelation how the dogs are just so enthusiastic to just pull, pull pull, but they really do, and are happiest when pulling the sled! Weather was beautiful, I personally would recommend going in the 'winter spring' as long days and warm. Slushy at times but still perfectly safe to cross rivers and lakes. Quite a workout - a bit like skiing and a tough gym session but plenty of chance to relax sore muscles! Trip of a lifetime, do it!

Fantastic experience: Just back from a wonderful 4 days on the Ice-skating in Sweden trip. Can't recommend it highly enough - the organisation was superb - we literally just had to turn up at the airport and everything else was arranged. The local guide was amazing in both being a host and expertise of where to skate. We were not experienced skaters by any means but with a few trips to the local rink beforehand we were covering 30km and the scenery was amazing. Nature Travels were excellent to deal with beforehand.

Fantastic experience: We did the "4 day/3 night Discover Dog Sledding in Lapland" tour this February, as part of a larger self-organised Winter roundtrip through Norway and Sweden. Naturetravels organised the tour itself and our pickup and dropoff in downtown Kiruna without any problems. The dog sledding was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Of course we like dogs, so the interaction with them was fun and the dogs clearly enjoyed people's attention, as well as pulling the sled, and couldn't wait to get running every morning. The guide and the other staff members we encountered were very passionate and caring about the dogs as well. There was plenty to do, like getting fresh water from the river, feeding dogs, putting on harnesses, etc, so it felt like we were really participating and not just being toured around.

Fantastic experience: We booked the “Live like a Husky Musher in Svalbard “ for early in February. This was our fourth mushing trip, the others being in Sweden and further south in Norway. We were hoping for something different and perhaps a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Our hopes and expectations were far exceeded many times over. We were met by our hosts at Svalbard Airport and were dropped off a week later having made lifelong friends. We cannot thank Berit, Karl, Phurpur and Tarjei enough for the wonderful experience and privilege of staying with them, helping to look after the huskies and driving out on excursions with them. Our cabin with bunk beds and wood stove was a cosy retreat to warm up in after a day’s mushing. Chopping logs, making hot breakfasts, feeding the dogs, even using the eco friendly dry loo, made us feel we were living like a Husky Musher. We loved eating reindeer stew in the Sami Grillkota sitting around the central fireplace. Berit is a great enthusiast and a skilled and thoughtful guide and mentor. We were taught about safety in a country where there are 2 polar bears for each inhabitant (although the bears are mostly on the ice floes busy trying to catch seals.) We had lessons on preparing the huskies and sleds, harnessing them up and driving the teams across stunning wintry landscapes. The timing of our trip was perfect as the Polar nights were drawing to a close, so we had 2-3 hours of light to admire the dramatic treeless peaks and valleys. We were treated to displays of the aurora borealis on 4 nights out of the seven, both whilst we were staying at the mushing base and when we went for an overnight excursion into the Svalbard wilderness. In addition to the mushing Berit made sure we learnt about life on Svalbard, the island’s history of mining, trapping and whaling and their conservation efforts encouraging a large colony of eider ducks to nest around the mushing base.Visits to the local museum, swimming pool and sauna helped us relax even more. We loved meeting Berit and Karl’s extended family, as well as those gorgeous puppies! We can not recommend this holiday more highly. It was a wonderful experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

Fantastic experience: Myself (aged 32) and a colleague went on an 8-day guided dog sledding expedition in Swedish Lapland. The nature and the serenity of the place are absolutely stunning, which is worth defying the cold for. That being said, the best part of the experience was taking care of the four dogs I was assigned during these days and building up a strong bond with them! On top of that we had a small group (three guests and one great guide), who felt like family at the end of the trip. The cabins have no running water and no electricity, which makes you appreciate these things even more at home. The alternatives (an extra battery-pack or two and saunas!) were a great substitute during the 6 days we stayed in these wilderness cabins. The friendly people at Nature Travels gave us a very realistic and complete picture of what to expect and they were extremely helpful in making sure we had all the information that we needed! Everything from the moment we were picked up at the airport until we were dropped off at the same airport was arranged neatly; we never worried about our planning for a second. As a bonus, they are quite cheap compared to other agencies. A solid 10/10 from me, I'll definitely be making use of their services again in the future!

Fantastic experience: A friend of mine and me booked a 4 days/ 3 nights self-guided kayaking tour at the East Coast Archipelago in Sweden (St. Anna and Gryt). Communication and preparation was great, Nature Travels was quickly responding to our questions and needs. Every detail worked out well, the local provider was very professional and kind, equipment of very high quality. And the tour itself... was just superb! End of season, almost paddling alone in this wonderful scenery, sleeping in tree tents!! was an extra adventure and even more comfortable as we expected... No reason NOT to recommend, and many reasons to book again with them. Prices are more than fair!

Fantastic experience: We recently spent 3 fantastic nights on the Skåne canoe trip, easily reachable from Copenhagen by train. It was an unforgettable experience, and a real adventure... we’re not really particularly experienced canoeists, and there was no induction or anything like that, it was just “off you go!” So maybe not for you unless you feel confident about this sort of thing. It was quite demanding at times, especially when the wind came up(we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it back to base at one point!) but a really enjoyable challenge and my 9 year old son loved it and we spent lots of time swimming, playing on beaches etc. It was so quiet and peAceful, we hardly saw another human the whole time. There was a fire ban in place when we left, but this was lifted on our 2nd night- we received a text letting us know... the evening campfire was a lovely finishing touch. Lots of wildlife, ospreys, deer, bats, - amazing. Highly recommend this trip.

Fantastic experience: We (family of 4, including 18 and 20 year olds) did the Hike, Bike and Paddle Stockholm's Lakes and Islands (Sweden). The holiday was a massive success (for all of us). The organisation was spot on. On the tour in Sweden we received very clear instructions, and everything prepared for us very well (in particular the camping night). I think it would have been extremely hard to arrange this trip as an outsider. The canoeing and the night camping (with tent up and food left) were a particular treat. We choose this trip as it was close to Stockholm, and also had several enjoyable days in this lovely city at the end of the trip (the big sites of Skansen, the Varsa were good value). I intend (funds permitting!) to do another of the Nature Travels trips.

Fantastic experience: Our Swedish holiday certainly lived up to its name - A winter wonderland on a forest farm - It was all we hoped for and more! We were made to feel extremely welcome by our hosts Asa and Lassa and they really seem to enjoy looking after people, making them feel very welcome and happily sharing stories to kids and adults alike.The food was delicious, the home very comfortable and, as a family, we have not laughed as much on a holiday... ever! Nature Travels could not have been more helpful, answering every query I had quickly and efficiently and making it a very easy experience. I really wouldn't have been able to do it without the help I received as I wouldn't have known where to start. Would give more that 5 stars if I could!!

Fantastic experience: My daughter & I had the most fabulous trip to Swedish Lapland, staying 1 night at the Ice Hotel, 2 nights at the Reindeer Lodge and 3 nights on the dog sledding tour. It was altogether everything we expected and more, we really enjoyed interacting with the huskies and learning how to harness and take care of their needs. This is quite a working holiday as you muck in with the feeding and care, fetching water from an ice hole in the lake, harnessing the dogs, preparing their and your food etc. but this is all part of the experience. We had Mats as our guide, he was really a super guy, always put the dogs first, great sense of humour and loads of patience, a pleasure to be with. We were well taken care of by Nature Travels, all the transfers worked perfectly, even one which was changed during our trip. Everyone we met on all the experiences was fantastic, a special mention also to Sara at the Reindeer Lodge who cooked us fabulous meals in the evenings and took care of us so well and to Johan who dug us out of the snow when we overturned our snowmobile!

Fantastic experience: I just came back from a dog sledding tour in Sweden. The tour was very well organised and Natural Travels always replied to my emails promptly. I could see as well that everything I mentioned Nature Travels in Sweden my local hosts seemed to think very highly of them. The experience was absolutely brilliant, if you love nature and dogs than this is for you. Some cabins are very basic, but warm (once the log burner is on :) and comfy.

Went with my 20 year old son and had a fantastic week with amazing views, clear skies and fresh air. We only met two people the entire week. Fantastic experience: Spent a great week in a cabin by a lake in Varmland. Made great use of the rowing boat and caught lots of perch and pike. Bjorn and his son pointed us to their secret hotspots! Hired bikes and did 25km without seeing another person the whole day. Interesting public phone box in the middle of nowhere! Fantastic country for hikes and we even managed to walk into Norway and back in a day. Brilliant service from Nature Travels. Fancy the rafting holiday next time. Thanks.

Fantastic experience: Just returned from a self guided canoe tour in Dalsland, Sweden's Lake District. With so much choice it was difficult to decide which trip to pick. The staff at Nature Travels provided excellent advice and the trip turned out to be exactly what we wanted. The bus / train / bus travel from Gothenburg airport to Bengtsfors went very smoothly. The local hosts we friendly and helpful and all the equipment was in good condition. The route we took was flexible so we could do as much or as little canoeing as we felt like due to their being numerous campsite scattered around the shore. We averaged about 15 miles per day which was about right bearing in mind the speed of the canoe and weight of the equipment. Our route took us through one lock which was an experience in itself. The campsite are clean and very basic. Campfire with small shelter and toilet. I would thoroughly recommend Nature Travels and this particular area of Sweden to all ages (we are mid 50's) and we will definitely be returning.

Fantastic experience: I had the great privilege to join a group of friends for a trek in the Sarek National Park in Lapland in August. It was an amazing experience in many ways : amazing panoramic views, unspoilt environment, great walks, friendly greetings from the locals. Christian Heimroth, the local guide who looked after us, was really knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. The weather was also on our side, which added to the pleasure of walking along the rivers, across the hills and eating outdoors. This region is really worth discovering, just be aware of the mosquitoes.

Fantastic experience: We did the timber rafting (5 days, which means 3 1/2 days on the river - 1 day to arrive and get briefed, and half a day building the raft), and the floating log cabin. Both were really good and I'd definitely recommend! Nature Travels were helpful, made the booking easy, and gave us all the info we needed

Fantastic experience: We have just enjoyed a superb break in beautiful, tranquil Varmland; the standard of our cabin, the warmth of the welcome, and the wonderful serenity were everything we could have hoped for. If you haven't explored Scandinavia I can guarantee that the burgeoning natural delights of the lakes and forests, and the easy-going charm of the people will have you asking yourself why you ever bothered with the sweaty beaches of more obvious summer destinations, and (as we did) leaving some of the activities on offer in store for 'the next time' you visit. Positive experience: We did the canoegetaway in Skane with Wetlandi via Naturetravels. It was well organised, and the information provided by Naturetravels came in very handy. Both Naturetravels and Wetlandi staff members are very friendly and open to any questions. A great experience!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I did the three night/four day hike/bike/canoe trip in Sweden. We're in our 70s and had never ridden mountain bikes through the woods, but we handled it, if slowly. The canoeing on four different lakes was a nice break and easily navigable. The Swedish countryside is beautiful and the whole trip was well organized. A perfect summer break for us.

Fantastic experience: Nature Travels arranged a week on a cross country ski touring in East Karelia, plus a couple of additional days before hand. The administration was smooth and efficient, advice and guidance was provided promptly, and the staff were very friendly. The trip in Finland took us from Guest House to Guest House with our luggage transported for us, staying at each Guest House for one days local skiing. The routes were prepared for us by snowmobile, across lakes, though woods and across fields (snow covered). Days varied from 11 to 27 kilometres. We are in our late 60s and although the long days were tiring, they were well within our capabilities. All Guest Houses featured locally sourced traditional Finnish dishes lovingly prepared and explained by each proprietress, and each also offered something different - local singing, feeding reindeer, or smoke sauna with (optional) ice cold immersion. The accommodation was simple but adequate in traditional houses. Overall, a very enjoyable and satisfying holiday . .

Fantastic experience: I have just returned from the Husky sledding Mountain Expedition experience along the ' Kings Trail' in northern Sweden. A truly memorable 7 day adventure with magnificent scenery and great sledding which was challenging at times but very rewarding. The Siberian huskies were brilliant and only wish I could have taken them home! Jenny; our guide; seemed very experienced, capable and professional and worked very hard to ensure ours and the huskies wellbeing.

Fantastic experience: Took the Husky Sledding Mountain Expedition in Feb 2017. One of the best weeks of my life - incredible weather and beautiful landscape to spend time in. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and made the experience very easy, felt very safe in his capable hands, even in a snow storm. All the equipment provided was excellent and high quality. Dogs were wonderful and enjoyed working with them for the week!
