Fantastic experience: We stayed at Bryn Mawr on the Bodnant Estate. June 2022. To start the holiday 3 family members had to be rescued from a very steep slope they had ventured down whilst losing their way to the cottage. The estate workers were fabulous, helpful and friendly. It is quite tricky to find your way on first arrival but follow the directions carefully and follow your progress on Google Satellite, on your phone, if you can, to ensure no wrong turnings! The cottage was lovely. Generous welcome pack with local produce. Spacious living areas with breathtaking views over Conwy valley. The suggested walks are pleasant and it's nice to enjoy a good walk without getting in the car. A word about the single room and accessibility. It is reached via a few steep steps (without handrail) right at the very end of the cottage. No easy access to toilet or bathroom. We stupidly left a whole drawer full of clothes on our departure. These were posted back to us within a few days, carefully packed and free of charge!! Wonderful. So very grateful. I would recommend Bodnant Cottages for a comfortable break in rural isolation, but within easy reach of great places to visit in North Wales.

Positive experience: Tyddyn Derwen cottage. Don't arrive in the dark. After negotiating a single track road, and a steep hill over a stream as you approach the property you arrive at Tyddyn Derwen. A bit hairy for us, but we were an all-lady party and not in a 4x4. Well worth it though. The cottage is warm, spacious, modern and well-kitted out in a stunning location. You won't want to leave for sure. Only dropped a star because of the unexpected approach.

Positive experience: Decent garden. If you like flowers and plants this could be your thing. It's still good for a walk around either shorter around the flower beds or longer walks through trees, follow the stream. An old lady's delight.

Fantastic experience: Love Badnant. A fantastic day out for the whole family. Lots of areas to explore if you take your time and go off the main paths. Spent over four hours here during the last visit. If you love plants, it's a must seebinnall seasons. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to go, even in winter there are so many sights to delight the eye! Plenty of parking spaces, and good disabled parking too!

Positive experience: Would normally give Bodnant 5 stars but because of Covid 19 some of the paths are closed and the cafes are also closed. It is still worth a visit though as the walks are just the same and are most enjoyable. I am a regular visitor and never tire of Bodnant. One of my favourite places. If you like nature and gardens it is the place for you. It is forrest, woods, river and gardens all in one visit. Beautiful.

Fantastic experience: This national trust estate is a must if your up for beautiful walks and awesome food at their restaurant just love this place.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful gardens, especially in Spring and Autumn. A huge variety of trees and plants. Lovely walks along the river. Pricey but free for National Trust members. Several cafés, including the excellent Pavilion. The Garden Centre includes gift shops, plant sales, a gallery and arts and crafts.

Fantastic experience: The NT have really done a superb job with these gardens. No matter when you go the gardens look fantastic. It's handy as well that alot of the plants are named so if you like something you can then you can go off and hopefully purchase it from somewhere. They have also opened up a few new sections so you can spend a good half day or so walking around different places each with their own personality.

Fantastic experience: STUNNING. Amazing plants at every turn. Steep paths. The view over the Conwy estuary to the mountains is worth the stiff walk up. So much of interest.

Fantastic experience: One of the greatest national trust properties and a must see if you are visiting Conwy area. Ample parking and wonderful cafe facilities, staff are friendly and helpful as always. The gardens are like a wonderland with so much to see and do.

Quite steep hills to walk up and down so some places inaccessible to those with mobility issues, there are however plenty of places at the top of the gardens easily accessed. Could do with more refreshment areas especially at the far end of the lower dell area. Well worth a visit.

Negative experience: We had a family holiday in August 2017 at Lletty - one of the cottages on the Bodnant Estate. Although it enjoyed lovely views over the surrounding countryside unfortunately it was dirty and unloved. The garden was covered in dog faeces from the previous let which we only discovered when our little boy came in the house covered in it. The next door neighbour who was a full time Bodnant resident was hostile and threatened to shoot the family dog who had only ever been walked on a lead. The cottage Wi-Fi was slow and intermittent. It must be said that Sam, the Bodnant head housekeeper who we met by chance was really helpful, however we left early; disappointed that an expensive in season break had so many shortcomings.

Positive experience: Somewhat disappointing. The cottage itself was in an idyllic location with gorgeous views and was, on the whole, very peaceful. It was just a shame there were cleanliness issues (mouse droppings in the kitchen cupboard, a used toilet scourer on show in the bathroom, black dirt behind the bathroom radiator), something living in the roof which scrabbled about through the night and the decor was tired. Not at all the standard you'd expect for the price. N.B. I have since been contacted by Bodnant Estate who were keen to discuss the feedback and offered a partial refund as well as promising to look into the issues raised.
