Positive experience: We had a great experience on the Ten Lakes Spectacular Tour. Our driver, Tim, was outstanding—extremely knowledgeable about the area, sharing fascinating facts and stories throughout the journey. He also had a great sense of humor, keeping us entertained with his witty jokes, which made the day even more enjoyable. Tim went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a memorable experience, even taking lovely pictures of us at some of the most picturesque spots. The itinerary was well planned, showcasing the stunning beauty of the Lake District, from tranquil lakes to breathtaking viewpoints, although I would personally have preferred a shorter lunch break (we had 1.5 hours and I thought 1 was enough).

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing time on the Ten Lakes Tour with Mountain Goat Tours in Windermere! Despite the winter weather not being on our side, the tour was incredibly well-organized, and we were able to see and experience so much of the beautiful Lake District in one day. Our guide, Derek, was absolutely fantastic – knowledgeable, funny, and full of energy! He kept us entertained and informed throughout the journey, making it a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the Lake District efficiently and enjoyably!

She knew all the good spots for taking pictures. I would definitely recommend her for tours and can see myself doing this tour again.

Fantastic experience: Six Lakes Tour We've just completed the six lakes tour with our guide Sheri. I've got to say at this point this lady is an fantastic tour guide and her knowledge of the area is amazing. The transport was clean and well maintained and the route was quite breathtaking throughout we had three stops one at Ullswater (15mins) and the other at Grasmere (60mins) . The third stop was to take in the ancient ancient stone Circle at castlerigg we're you also get an beautiful views of the surrounding hilltops and valley below. We would certainly recommend this tour as a first taster into the beauty of the lake district,and this particular company for the excellent experience they provide you.

Positive experience: A long and a bit boring tour. There is really only one or two scenic stops. When we stopped for lunch or a snack, the driver only gave us a direction in the town to walk and no recommendations. It seemed the drivers main objective was to get through the day. It was disappointing.

Fantastic experience: I had the best time with Tim, in the 10 lakes tour! It was my first solo travel and he made the whole experience so informative and incredibly funny, leaving us all with the biggest smiles! He also had me read Wordsworth during the trip for the group, reading Wordsworth in the land of Wordsworth, a memory I will never forget. I hope I come back soon, and do the same tour all over again with Tim, just an amazing human being, and an incredible experience.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful day . My wife and I booked a 10 lakes day tour - 3rd Sept. 2024. Firstly, prior to tour day I rang the Mountain Goat office to ask about parking facilities when meeting the coach as I have mobility issues. I spoke with Rosie who could not have been more helpful, lovely cheerful person who was able to help and put my mind at rest. Come the tour day we had Stef as our driver/tour guide - couldn’t wish for a nicer bloke. Great personality, had a lot of time for all on board and extremely knowledgable about the areas visited. He made our day so enjoyable. Fantastic value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you to all at Mountain Goat for a memorable trip. Mr & Mrs Davis

Jane was so knowlegable about the area, and a brilliant driver, we definatly see more of the lake district on this tour than we would have on our own because you go to all the great spots and Jane told us all about them. Fantastic experience: We did the full day 10 lakes tour with Mountain Goat Tours! We had a spectacular experience. The van was clean and roomy. Our driver Graham was top-notch, he took the time to learn our names before the start of the tour, this made the tour seem more personable. He was great with my kids. During the tour her was so knowledgable and willing to answer all of our questions. What was appreciated most was how great of a driver Graham was, the narrow roads and hills would have seemed more scary without Graham behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: We went for the 10 lake spectacular tour. It was very user friendly booking and instructions were emailed to us with reminders. Very prompt with timings. Loved Patrick’s live commentary. He even offered to take pic for us. Patrick was very knowledgeable, approachable and friendly. Reasonable stops to stretch our feet, washroom breaks, coffee and food. Highly recommend for someone who is not from the country but would like to explore with guided tours.

Fantastic experience: This was a perfect way to spend the day and view the 11 lakes. Our guide was Steph and he was fantastic. We had a beautiful sunny day that made the trip that much more special. Despite it being an all day tour, there are plenty of stops to get out and stretch and take in the beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this tour if you have the time!

Fantastic experience: We took the Six Lakes half-day tour to give ourselves an introduction to the area. The stops were well-selected and we enjoyed picking up some good facts from Tim's tour guiding. As you cover a lot of ground, a lot of time is necessarily spent inside the mini-bus, but even the views from the bus are spectacular. Our highlights were Castlerigg Stone Circle, Ullswater and The Struggle!

Fantastic experience: We went on the High Adventure Tour in mid-June. Our guide, Mark, was entertaining and knowledgeable. The entire area we visited was beautiful. The pub we stopped at for lunch was delicious. The train ride was a blast. Fortunately weather was on our side. Really a great way to spend a day in the Lake District.

Fantastic experience: Geoff was an excellent driver and guide! It has been a dream of mine to visit Beatrix Potter's home and villages and Mountain Goat tours made the dream come true. I quickly realized that it takes a lot of skill to navigate the charming but very narrow lanes in the Lake District and we were in good hands with Geoff.

Fantastic experience: I did the 10 Lakes tour today with Graham (early June 2024). It was brilliant! I learned so much and Graham was warm, knowledgeable and funny! He managed to tell us loads but also not be intrusive on our enjoyment of the tour (some tour guides can be overbearing). He was easy to chat to and ask questions of; a great driver - I never felt scared on the narrow windy roads. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day… and we were really lucky to have a sunny-ish day and no rain after 9.30am. I think that made all the difference to the general mood of our group too! I’d highly recommend anyone visiting the area does this tour as a great introduction to a vast area to then explore afterwards (if you have the time!). I feel it’s reasonably priced too for essentially a whole day 9am to 5pm.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the 10 lakes spectacular tour, it definitely lived up to its name and was a truly wonderful day. We were picked up by Peter Fox, who was an excellent tour guide throughout the day with such great & interesting facts about the lake district. His driving was impeccable despite some of the slightly off the beaten track roads & tight spaces. We were taken to all the must see spots around the lake district & there were plenty of breaks & stops in-between, which didn’t make it feel like too much of a long drive at any point. I won’t reveal too much about the actual day but there are some truly amazing places which we weren’t aware of but would act as a good introduction if you wanted an idea of where to go back to or stay.

Fantastic experience: Excellent tour with Tim yesterday of the best-of- the Lake District and a lot more.. a wonderful day of nothing but stunning locales, scenery and just the choice tidbits of the history and traditions of Cumbria and its heritage to make this an immersive Lake experience. Nice feature of Mountain Goat tours and their guide-drivers is you are always off the motorways and the entire tours are via secondary and scenic paths you would take if you were driving..except you do not have to drive. Particularly appreciated Tim sharing just the information that added to gaining the sense of the place and its unique history..and avoiding the drone of data thats wiki/web/siri/chat gpt factoids..made this a thoroughly enjoyable and educational excursion with a lot of quiet time as well to just take in the scenery and chill. The thoughtful attention that Tim paid to highlighting the Lake/Cumbria experience for everyone and his personality and disposition towards each and every one on the tour made it such an enjoyable day. Second tour with Mountain Goat and recommend.. Tim and their other guide-drivers make all the difference..

These roads are narrow and often one way, Tim’s driving was both professional and courteous. I felt safe with her driving also, some of those roads were quite small and looked tricky but I felt safe throughout. The tour was great. We didn't have the best weather but we made the most of it. Fantastic experience: I took The Ten Lake (Disctrict) Spectacular tour with my wife and two sons. It was indeed spactacular, enjoyable, comfortable and safe. I would strongly recommend to do this tour (first) as it takes you and introduces you to ten different areas in The Lake District. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy the areas in one day, but more so ability to chose your own favourtie area and hence plan your next visit/site/area in your own car. The bus was comfortable and the driver (Gordon) was very professional, friendly, good narrater and story-teller and accommodating; even took our pictures. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: We were a group of six-- a ten year old, with her parents and grandparents... And each one enjoyed the experience. It was indeed fulfilling, fascinating and educative, thanks to our Guide Dave, who was not only well versed with the region but also with the literary laureats! Fantastic experience: We did that the 10 lake tour with Mountain goat tours today, and had a fantastic experience, Tim our tour guide was fabulous. He ensured that we had a great time all along giving us the history of the different places that he drove us to. In addition, he also is a fantastic photographer and volunteered to take pictures for everyone. His enthusiasm was infectious and all in all he made the trip a memorable one for us. Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful tour of ten lakes in The Lake District. Duncan, our tour guide was very knowledgeable on topics from the geography and topography to the culture and history of the amazing landscape. He had a great sense of humour whilst explaining facts of the area.

Negative experience: A guide from this organisation told his guests that it was OK to climb on a 4,500 year old standing stone circle in pursuit of photos, etc. They did so, defending their actions with “well, I’m sure our guide knows best”. Deeply uncool in all regards. Avoid

Fantastic experience: The perfect way to see the best of the Lake District. Derick our driver was informative, amusing and a competent driver along some very tricky roads. We were part of a coach holiday to the lakes. Switching to the smaller mountain goat vehicles was ideal as some of our group had mobility issues, this was the perfect way to really experience, and be immersed in the beauty of the area. It was the highlight of the trip.

Negative experience: Booked the western lakes (Lake District) full day tour via Get Your Guide. Received confirmation email from both Get Your Guide AND Mountain Goat Tours. Turned up at meeting point for 9.20 am and no bus. Eventually got through on the telephone at 9.30 (that took several attempts too!) to find that there wasn’t a tour that day. Please note… it hadn’t been cancelled due to bad weather or anything. They didn’t do a tour that day so apparently it was a booking error. As you can imagine, tours get booked up way in advance and it was our last full day there so we missed out completely. What really annoyed me though was that I spoke to a lady and she said she would call her manager to find out what was going on and then she called me back to apologise and explain. I feel the manager should have realised - it was hardly fair that she had to deal with my annoyance. So if you book with them, I would advise calling to confirm it’s going ahead in advance

Fantastic experience: My sister and I took the Lake District tour and had a fantastic time. The scenery was breathtaking and the small village and castle we explored on foot were beautiful. Our driver Tom provided historical facts and funny stories that made for a wonderful day. His kindness, patience and driving skills were also appreciated.

Fantastic experience: We used Mountain Goat Tours for a Stag Do trip earlier this month and they were fantastic. Excellent communication beforehand including sending the mobile number for the bus driver so we could communicate any queries before pick up. Regarding the actual trips, Both the outward and return journeys were on time and very comfortable - the air on was a godsend. Both drivers were extremely friendly and accommodating for any stops we needed. Would highly recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: I just had the best trip today, would recommend to everyone ❤️! The lady arrived on time, she was really lovely and knowledgeable! We had many stops to take photos, walk around or have lunch and came back on time!

Fantastic experience: We did the 10 Lakes tour, a full day, and it was worth every penny. I was absolutely amazed at the amount we got to see throughout the day, and even more amazed with the amount of knowledge our tour guide/driver, Mark, had (not to mention the skill he showed along the tiny roads!) It was quite honestly one of the best things I've ever done visiting the lake district, and it allowed us to reach places we could never have got to ourselves (transport and mobility issues) It made the whole of the lake district super accessible, and Mark never rushed anyone getting on and off the coach, yet we still managed a jam packed day! We can certainly say we'll be booking on one of the other tours on our next trip here.
