Negative experience: I know a lot of South Asian people deal with this company for tickets to India/pakistan, but I think I should share my experience with everyone. A solid 0 star from me and my family !! The whole family were flying out to Malta for my husband and my joint 50th birthday celebrations. I contacted Surinder in march thinking he could give advice with Schengen visas for my mum and husband as they have Indian passports. I was told by his colleague that I needed to contact them 1 month ahead of travel (June) and it was too early to apply. I rang again in June only to be told it was too late to apply. Obviously I was overwhelmed as it was a big event planned and all booked by my family for us and the thought that we all couldn’t go as a family had me panicking. His colleague told me that they could get us a visa and appointment and that it would cost £150 each but not guaranteed, but then told there were no appointments available and there was nothing they could do. Not only did they lie to us, Surinder said they don’t deal with Schengen visas and tried to tell me it was my fault that we were in this situation when clearly i had just followed his colleague’s advice. If they don’t deal with other visas apart from Indian/ Pakistan, why give people the wrong advice and information, Instead why not just say that we don’t know please go somewhere else !! My family was devastated to say the least as we tried all ways to get a Schengen visa but it was too late for appointments. We have been on our 50th celebration holiday without my husband and mum and all I can say is I will never forget the feeling of leaving them behind thanks to Surinder and his team. I will NEVER EVER advise or recommend to anyone to ask these people for advice on other countries as they clearly don’t know what they are taking about !!

Fantastic experience: I used SM Travel a few times to book some flights, on a return flight from Pakistan they kept me updated on the change in flight times and at another time I had tickets booked but unfortunately due to Covid these had to be cancelled. SM Travel kept me updated on the return of the monies and returned said funds very promptly. Fantastic experience: 2020 has been an awful year for travel and my partner and I, like lots of other people have had holidays cancelled. When we decided we wanted to book a holiday for (hopefully) next year we wanted the personal touch that Surinder as a Travel Counsellor offered. We gave Surinder the dates we wanted to travel and the location and he came up with ideas for us in our chosen area. However, as we had very specific ideas of what we wanted, He was able to come up with the best offer for what we needed (even having to send us 4 quotes as we changed a couple of things). Once we had decided to book, the process was very easy and I would happily recommend using SM travels in general and in particular to my friends (have already mentioned to some people that I work with). Looking forward to booking more holidays with them in the future. 10 out of 10

Fantastic experience: SM Travel helped me create a 4x week tailor made trip of a lifetime (for 2) to India (Golden triangle Delhi, Agra and Jaipur), Mumbia, Kerla, and Sri Lanka (Columbo, Pinnawala, Kandy) in December 2016. They organised everything for me from Visa’s and flights (International /Internal) to Hotels and all our Reps, Guides and Car drivers at each tour destination. I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of going abroad (India and beyond) and I will certainly use them again in my future Travels.

Fantastic experience: We needed to obtain E-Visas for travel to Goa and, after a very frustrating time trying to navigate the Visa website, we were rescued by S M Travel. Surrinder Madhas went out of his way to help us, even working late in the evening to make sure that our visas arrived in time. S M Travel are efficient and dedicated.

Prompt and accurate travel booking made with minimum fuss including visa application service, which, contrary to the other review on this site was handled quickly and cheaply compared with other service providers. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: AVOID! I asked for a Visa to India and they tried to get more money out of me by claiming the rules in the last week had changed and the documents I had were not enough. I was told they would have to do something "extra" to get me a VISA for which there would be an additional cost. Spoke to the Indian Consulate and was advised that no such rules had changed and that since I already had been issued a Visa in the last 3 years it would be very simple to get a Visa, ofc the agent already knew this as I questioned them which is what made me think they were telling a lie. Shop around for a more trustworthy agent! Used Visa Genie instead who did all the paperwork for me, saved me money, and got me a Visa within 3 Days.
