Positive experience: The house was in a great location and was nice and large and so was the garden. But, it was very unkempt, the wardrobe was missing a handle, the bath had black stuff coming out of the tap and all in all was quite unclean. Also the house is not suitable for any elderly and such as there is no toilet upstairs so have to go down the stairs (which are quite slippery) in the night. (Seaton house)

Fantastic experience: Excellent accommodation, really well equipped, bedrooms all great with really comfortable beds. Great location for us playing golf at various local courses, beach really close for a late afternoon dip before heading off on the bus from the stop right outside to the many Brixham restaurants. Highly recommend this property.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant!! Great location and lovely view. The facilities and kitchen equipment were the best we’ve ever had in similar accommodation. Beds were super comfy with such lovely soft linen. Have read reviews saying pillows and sofa uncomfortable but they weren’t at all. Also you don’t need to drive once there as ferries and Steam Train are so easy to use. Loved it and will definitely be back!!

Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved staying at Vane Towers Torquay, the accommodation is stunning, beds super comfy, we enjoyed our time in the hot tub, all round perfect. My daughter loved being able to play the piano whilst staying at Vane Towers. The views are stunning from the patio area. We all plan to return for another stay!

Positive experience: Lovely house and wonderful hot tub. We enjoyed the wood burner too- very cosy. The bedroom door in the master is tricky to shut and the mattress a little uncomfortable. Overall, we loved it and will be back

Fantastic experience: Fabulous apartment, Clean and well equiped. Ideally located to walk into town. Great views of the harbour. would definately book again.

Negative experience: Unhygienic, unsafe and run down. Avoid this place until they fix the many issues with it. The steps are unsafe there are no railings, the place was not clean at all. Green slime growing in the bathroom, hairs in the bath, dirty carpets, rats coming out of the dishwasher. The problems with this place are too numerous to list but you have been warned. No doubt the management will claim that it isn't true and the place was cleaned etc etc they don't care though and will saying things like this isn't the standard we expected and it was a one off etc but they have no intention of addressing the issues.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars. The place was very clean and tidy, the view was gorgeous, the area is very peaceful, the owners even left us a gift before we came! I 10/10 recommend, and I might stay there again in the future.

Positive experience: Really great views but a few negatives, The house is a great size, however there is far too much furniture and a lot of furniture that is not appropriately sized, this makes moving around the house very awkward, the beds were reasonably comfortable but I would not say this is 4 star, maybe 3 stars. The steps upto the House are very understated in the description, after booking they send you a video of how to get to the House, there are 30 steps up to the House, The parking spaces are very small and its very tight to get in and out. Lastly the area that the house is situated is very busy and loud of an evening, you can hear it from inside the house when all the windows and doors are shut. I adore Devon, but unfortunately would not return to Torquay as it is now very rundown in places.

Fantastic experience: James at Fresh Escapes is a star - he saved our family holiday when we had been let down at short notice by the owners of a previous property booked through airbnb. Vane Tower is superb, the kind of place you can only imagine, in fact my granddaughter said she felt like she was dreaming and my grandson was so excited to stay in a real mansion. Vane Tower is exactly as described by Fresh Escapes, spotlessly clean and incredibly well equipped even down to a smoothie maker and a milk frother! Communication with Fresh Escapes was easy and response swift. Self check was simple with clear instructions provided in advance. Luxurious doesn’t adequately describe the standard of furnishings- we really could not have wished for more.

Positive experience: Stayed in the beautiful little Redlap house comfortably sleeping 16 friends. Beautiful kitchen, living areas, outside seating and garden with sea views. A real shame however that small details were overlooked- no toiletries, minimal washing up liquid, no sponge, only 2 dishwasher tablets for 3 nights stay etc. Unfortunately these issues were not resolved despite me raising them with fresh escapes over email. Disappointing management of an otherwise perfect holiday stay.

Fantastic experience: We had a 45 day stay in the UK and this property was our favourite. Whoever decorated it needs a standing ovation. It was comfortable, spacious and in lovely surrounds. It was clean with some lovely supplied left for us. Highly highly recommend. Dreaming of returning for longer one day.

Fantastic experience: Stayed at the Teignmouth property. So nice to come here straight from London on the train... Two minutes' walk to the end house on a quiet terrace, the town and sea a short walk away... Clean uncluttered house with a sunny back yard.

Fantastic experience: We stayed in harbour breeze on Torquay harbour front for 3 nights and it was beautiful! The location ,the apartment and the whole booking process was fantastic. Simon the owner met us on arrival and gave us the keys and showed us around and helped fill our hot tub up he was very accommodating and helpful. The apartment it’s self was outstanding! Modern & warm! We didn’t experience any loud noise from outside or the restaurants next door as seen on some reviews and we stayed Thursday - Sunday . Within walking distance to all the pubs shops harbour and much more! Perfect location! The hot tub tops of the whole experience sitting on the balcony over looking the harbour on a cold autumn night with a glass of Prosecco was lovely ! We will definitely be returning and using fresh escapes again for our next trip in august! Highly recommend! Thanks again for a great stay :)

Fantastic experience: Beautiful house, quality bedding and towels . The house is fabulous for large party , we went as a party of 13 to celebrate my husband's birthday and really had a fabulous time. Would recommend. Only issue was hall flooring old tiles loose. The showers were fantastic.

Negative experience: Stayed with some friends in the beautiful Ashley Manor. The stay was dampened by the broken hottub, broken BBQ, smashed (and dangerous) hallway tiles, broken frontdoor knob, lack of hot water, lack of cleaning supplies and unusable pingpong table. The stay was ruined by the unprofessionalism and incompetence of Fresh Escapes who not only had no idea how to remedy any of the above but showed contempt for us as guests when we reported the issues. Unfortunately, after AirBnb ruled that we were indeed owed a sizeable refund, Fresh Escapes proceeded to make libellous accusations - something AirBnb have confirmed they are taking very seriously.

Fantastic experience: We had a lovely last minute stay at Bramblewood. Slight issue with the heating but the owner was very responsive and got an engineer out to fix the issue almost immediately. Lovely property in a beautiful area, would definitely stay again. Very relaxing with plenty of walking trails near by. Only 10 minutes from the town and shops but still secluded enough to be peaceful. Added bonus of a log burner, hot tub and being dog friendly. The front garden is brilliantly designed for letting the dogs out for a quick wee or run around as it is completely secure. The property itself is modern with a rustic touch, perfect for a relaxing break away from home.

Positive experience: My sister and I recently stayed at Quay Cottage Teighnmouth. It was a lovely cottage, very spacious and right by the shops and close to both beaches. We had a lovely time. They responded very quickly to an issue we had.The only fault we found was a lack of basics like no washing up liquid, no coffee Pods for the machine and not enough toilet paper, if these issues were sorted I would have given 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: Just had our annual family weekend at Ashley Manor. It was a fabulous house, warm, comfortable with endless chill out spaces where different groups could relax - very important across several generations! We loved it! I asked for feedback from our group and the only complaints were ' no fish slice in the kitchen' and 'no mirrors in some bedrooms' ! Apart from that we give it 10/10!

Fantastic experience: Stayed at the Spinney in Torbay. The house was lovely, really well equipped with everything we needed as a large family group with small children. The whole booking and payment process was very smooth and the fresh escapes team were very prompt and helpful when we had a very minor problem with the central heating. I would have no worries recommending the property ( which I have done to a few friends already!) or fresh escapes.

Positive experience: Lovely stay at the Spinney in Paignton. Beautiful panoramic views across torbay. Accomodation was luxurious and warm. Inviting lounge with wood burning stove to keep you toasty in the evenings. We had some inclement weather during our stay but we made the most of our time there. I would of given 5 stars but I did find communications with fresh escapes slow leading up to the holiday and lacking clarity. But on the whole would recommend a stay there...

Fantastic experience: Everything was fantastic at Coombe Bank, Teignmouth. We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect location to visit family in Teignmouth, the parking was a big plus, and handy for a Christmas Day walk along the seafront. The accommodation was high spec and had all the facilities we needed. The kindness of the Fresh Escapes team when we had to alter our plans due to my Dad’s sudden illness meant a lot. It took a huge weight off my mind. Thank you and we will definitely look to book with Fresh Escapes again.

Fantastic experience: We stayed at The Moorings this week for 3 nights. Fresh Escapes and Simon were perfect hosts, very quick replies to my questions. The apartment was beautiful and very comfortable, the cleanliness was very good, bed was super comfy. We had the added bonus of the hot tub which helped with our aches and pains from walking. Great location as well, everything on your doorstep and a fab restaurant a few doors away Harbour 16, we went there two nights it was so good.

Fantastic experience: The Boathouse is lovely , it is clean , comfortable and has a touch of luxury about it. The location is great for accessing all the shops sea front restaurants etc. our only problem was there is supposed to be a parking space and in truth as said the residents are using them or visitors are, so any mobility issues can be difficult. If you are not fond of steps to load and unload your bags etc this is probably not the place for you. We managed ! We did however really enjoyed our stay the owners have kept the standards high and it feels like home from home. We would definitely stay here again thank you

Positive experience: We booked a last miute stay at Haldon view, booked online and I phoned to confirm as I only booked the day before. James was friendly and added that he would ensure hot tub was ready for our arrival. Unfortunatly the hot tub had not reached temperature and so was unusable on the first night. Overnight we were disturbed by the sound of rodents runnig around the attic and walls so reported these 2 issues the next morning.James promptly replied and arranged for the owners to attend with pest control in 2 days time. We decided to try an alternative bedroom in different part of the house. Unfortunalty the door knob was missing a screw and fell off when my partner shut the door locking me inside temporarily. We reported this requesting that the owners address it when they attended. James contacted the owners who agreed. We couldnt find the cushions for the garden sofa so decided to ask the owners about this on arrival. We waited in on the morning they arrived with pest control. They confirmed that the cushions were in the garage and they would be happy to take out for us to use ( it was a sunny september stay). However, the owners left the property without providing the cushions or any explanation as to why not. At the end of our stay Fresh escapes requested feedback and this reveiw. Having not received so much as an apology for the inconvinience at this stage I offered some constructive feedback that a gesture of good will would not be unheard of in these circumstances ( e.g a bottle of wine/chocolates, discount on future booking ect). At this stage we did receive a verbal appology (after pointing out that we had not had one). Fresh escapes said that they recognised that they could be offering more to customers, however, 'did not feel that a bottle of wine was appropriate'. They insist they dealt with issues reported in a timely manner and this was sufficient. They also felt the owners were accountable for resolving some of the issues and blamed us for not reporting the hot tub (which wasnt broken, just poorly prepared). I sent a polite response sharing my views which they never replied to. Needless to say there was no compensatory offer. I would not book with Fresh escapes again or recommend them to anyone else. I do agree that they were responsive in sorting issues raised and I do appreciate that rodents could not have been foreseen. However, given we paid around £1200 for this 5 day stay, I would not expect this many issues to arrise without some kind of compensatory gesture. Advertising themselves as a luxury holiday company I expect a luxury experience, which unfortunatly, this was not. I found it unprofessional when they did not except accontability for any issues and rather blamed the owners or ourselves. If you dont have any issues with your property then it will probably be fine, but if you do then dont expect anything other than bog standandard customer service and an attitute of someone who cant see/hear their own flaws but is quick to highlight this others.

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my stay at the Cathedral View self-catered flat in Exeter. The location is amazing. The quality of the flat and its fittings was perfect. Retrieving the key was easy and the instructions for using the flat were clear and useful.

Fantastic experience: We had a lovely stay at the Roundhouse, fantastic property, with plenty of space and character. Certainly a holiday to remember, with its wonderful view of Ilfracombe. Fantastic experience: My boyfriend and I have just come back from a long weekend stay at Swifts Return - Teign Valley. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, the owners were very helpful and friendly (their sausage dog was a bonus!!) and the pool was the highlight of our whole trip. After long days out, and lots of walking a dip in the pool was just what was needed! Would definitely recommend and stay here again! :)

Fantastic experience: My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Boat House for 5 nights, a charming property operated by The Fresh Escapes Team. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the mesmerizing view of the harbour. Whether I was enjoying my morning coffee on the terrace or unwinding in the evening with a glass of wine on the balcony, the view provided a constant sense of serenity that we'll carry with us long after our stay. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness of The Fresh Escapes Team truly shone through in the well-equipped home. Every amenity we could have possibly needed was readily available, making us feel right at home. In summary, our holiday stay at The Boat House was an unforgettable experience. The combination of the stunning harbour view, the well-equipped accommodations, and the welcoming atmosphere created the perfect getaway. We left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and with a heart full of gratitude. A huge thank you to owners and The Fresh Escapes Team for making this stay so incredible!

Fantastic experience: Our family of three generations, seven of us in total, booked a week at Greenacres in Teignmouth. Despite the fantastic description of the property we were a little hesitant when making the booking as there were no reviews. Little did we know that we were the first family to use the house since it's total refurbishment. We had no need to worry as the work had been carried out to an exceptionally high standard. No expense had been spared in every room in the property, from the luxury bathrooms to the fantastic kitchen with top quality fittings and appliances. Every detail had been carefully thought through and designed for the benefit and comfort of the guests. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner who called to see us and bring a few extras with him. That meant a lot to us as it show they take pride in delivering first class accommodation and excellent after sales service. The representatives of the management company were most helpful in resolving any minor issues by maintaining contact with us throughout our stay. In summary, I would have no hesitation in recommending Greenacres to any large family or group of friends and consider it excellent value for a top class luxury holiday. I would even go so far as to suggest booking a holiday there before the price goes up as it must be the best value accommodation in Devon. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!!

Negative experience: We recently spent a week in Devon at an apartment Harbour Breeze. When we arrived, we found that the apartment had not been cleaned, broken glass, a tablet, dust and Black hairs on the floor. When we approached Fresh Escapes Team on this, they where defiant, that we need to tell them to get cleaners out again. The job should have been already done, we arrived at 8pm, we did not want cleaners out then so we cleaned it ourselves. They apologised and said that the cleaners Mother was ill in hospital, although we are sympathetic to the situation, it was our holiday we'd waited 14 months to enjoy, this just put a shadow over the whole experience. I think with the cleaning side of a business, you don't expect to have to call Fresh Escapes out on arrival, just assume all is cleaned well for the price we paid for the holiday £1700.They where adamant no refund of £150 which was added for cleaning. I won't be using Fresh Escapes again or returning to Harbour Breeze Apartments ever.

Negative experience: Swallows End has the potential to be a truly lovely getaway but unfortunately due to some rather misleading advertising we left feeling rather ripped off. I messaged Fresh Escapes the morning after arrival (we arrived late, there’s no signal and the wifi wasn’t working) expressing my grievances. I have a broken leg and the property said mobility friendly and step free access to the property. There are 2 steps to the property, 20 to the pool and the hot tub sits on a thigh high platform. There were also loose wall sockets, stained sheets, mud from previous dogs and the entrance was dirty and overgrown. Rather than responding to my complaint and knowing they had made a mistake they decided to surreptitiously update the their Airbnb listing to correct this. Having waited 3 hrs I phoned them and was told that it would take them 1-2 days to get back to me as they were very busy at this time of year. We were only staying 3 nights. I phoned a second time a further 4 hrs later. During this phone call the ‘Co-Founder’ of Fresh Escapes, James, was neither helpful or pleasant. He lead with a refusal to offer any form of compensation if we left the property due to dissatisfaction, then proceeded to question why I was booking the holiday with a broken leg. The sheer audacity of James to interrogate me as to why I was looking to enjoy my leave in a ‘step free’ and mobility friendly home calls into question the nature of his character. The lack of professionalism and leg to stand on meant he resorted to childish tactics rather than offering valuable solutions. He eventually contacted the property owners who were very nice and tried their best to fix the issues. This was however, still being done at 2230 which was inconvenient and should have been addressed prior to arrival. If you go against your better judgement and book this property which is obviously cleaned by the 3 blind mice, I hope your experience is far more enjoyable than ours. Please note: we are still awaiting a reply regarding compensation as they religiously stick to a 3-5 working day response policy.

Fantastic experience: A7 Masts Torquay, what an amazing apartment, clean, spacious, boutique hotel feel. Beautiful views of Torquay. We had such an amazing holiday, something to do for all the family. Would love to stay again.

Fantastic experience: We were 5 adults who stayed at Quay House in Topsham for a few days. The house was very comfortable with plenty of space. It is in an excellent location - just across the road from Topsham Quay and surrounded by good restaurants and shops. We used the co-op, cheese shop, green grocers and wine shop in Topsham itself. There is also a large Aldi and Darts Farm a short drive away. The kitchen is sufficiently well equipped to prepare meals, although probably worth mentioning that there is no 'left-over' condiments and spices that you sometimes find in a holiday home - so salt, pepper and long life milk were provided but we had to buy oil, vinegar etc. We would definitely recommend this place- indeed we have already booked it for next summer!

Fantastic experience: This is the most fantastic, romantic and friendly cottage you can imagine. It is surrounded by beautiful landscape and the town of Chagford is just wonderful!

Fantastic experience: We used Fresh Escapes to book an amazing flat in Exeter, UK. The communication before, during and after was excellent. The penthouse at 24 Cathedral View was a beautiful flat, exactly as shown in the pictures and spotlessly clean when we checked in. All directions, checkin process etc was communicated well in advance. If you are looking for a luxurious flat in the heart of Exeter booked through a reliable management company 24 Cathedral View is the place. We are incredibly picky about where to stay, especially when in a self catering location and we would definitely stay here & definitely use Fresh Escapes again!

Positive experience: Sadly several issues this time around. Property wasn’t clean enough - the cleaner hadn’t even run the vacuum under or around the beds. There weren’t sufficient cleaning products - no washing machine liquid or even a general household cleaner. Finally the blackout blinds in both bedrooms were either broken or lying on the floor - clearly ignored by the cleaner. We had to fix it ourselves. The owner didn’t even attempt to apologies. Property is Beach Cottage Bank Lane Totnes so avoid if it comes up in a search.

Positive experience: We really enjoyed our stay at Quay Cottage, Teignmouth. It is very well positioned with a great selection of places to eat very close by and being right in the hub of town/beach is excellent. The living space was nicely furnished, spacious and comfortable. I liked the touches of local art, and I loved the open plan layout. The bedrooms were lovely, with comfortable beds, quality linen and plenty of storage - it would have been nice to have mirrors in the bedrooms near a socket. Both the bathroom and downstairs wet room were lovely. Nice touches of tea, milk and coffee pods for the machine (I found additional pods at Tesco, Newton Abbott). There was a bit of noise from people outside the pub after 11.00pm on the evenings that they had live music - the double glazing worked well but as it was very warm it would have been nice to have the windows open I paid for the weekly Teignbridge car parking permit which worked out brilliantly as I could use it in several of the other places we visited and didn't have a problem finding a space - although it would be more difficult in school holidays. A really lovely holiday

Fantastic experience: Stayed in Pippin Cottage in Malborough, Devon for a few days this week. Fabulous location and well provided for cottage , the instructions for how to get in, where to park arrived on time. Just a little issue with the cleaning probably from an earlier stay where cups and plates needed a thorough re wash but nothing we couldn’t handle. Only other thing was maybe a garden parasol would of been good as the back garden is a sun trap. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Pippin Cottage and would recommend

Fantastic experience: Just amazing! I'd forgotten what it was like to breathe and see the stars. We loved the walk we found at the end of the meadow. It was like walking through "Narnia" and then up to Dartmoor for spectacular views and the ponies, all in 45 minutes, and not a car in sight...Beautiful!

Fantastic experience: Two Guns Town house Kingswear, Dartmouth. We just arrived home from a truly beautiful week’s stay. All of the fixtures & fittings in this home are of high quality. Owner were attentive & helpful, when called during our stay. Heaven in Devon, is my families verdict. The panoramic views of the river’s ‘mouth’ from any of the multiple balconies, or layered garden over looking the bay is breath taking. On my 1st morning I woke up took a broom from the utility cupboard, walked down the garden to the waters edge. I held my arms up with the broom in one hand & attempted to part the waves. Unfortunately I was not able to achieve this biblical stunt. Everything else was perfect.

Positive experience: Pippin Cottage - a lovely house, very clean and well equipped for a property of this size. It's smallish, but more than adequate for our family of four (2 x adults, 2 x under-10s, plus a dog) for a long weekend. The bedrooms were great with really comfy beds. Location is excellent. Very close to Salcombe, Kingsbridge and the beaches at Hope Cove, Thurlestone and South Milton Sands. Within the village of Marlborough itself, the cottage is directly opposite the village Post Office that also sells snacks. A very well stocked Coop is a short walk away at the other end of the village. Fresh Escapes were excellent with pre-check in info and communications. Overall - a very satisfying and pleasant stay.

Fantastic experience: 16 of us stayed here for Christmas last year. It was an absolute dream! To say it was perfect was an understatement. House was well equipped! Big enough to have space from each other at times with large spaces for us all to be together. The seclusion… the serene views… the fresh air! I could go on! 5 nights simply wasn’t enough. We couldn’t get the heating to work straight away, but someone was on had to support us and for any of their questions we had during our stay. I have to give Fiona a special mention. She was amazing from the moment we enquired! 10/10 customer service Can’t wait to come back hopefully!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful time staying at Sunnybrook in Devon. The property itself was cosy, warm and immaculately clean. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to enjoy the hot tub and garden (due to the British spring weather!) but they would have been beautiful in the summer. The interior of the property was beautifully decorated, the beds were comfy, and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything you’d need. The communication and service from Freshescapes was brilliant - we even received welcome messages and information about the check in and check out processes during our stay. Thank you for a smooth experience and a lovely trip!

We felt very at home and there were some nice additions such as Coffee machine, Netflix, blankets for the sofa. The apartment is a 2 minute walk to Babbacombe downs with access down to the beach. Several local pubs and chip shop are within 5 minutes as is a Tesco Express for supplies. Would recommend staying here. There is not huge amounts to do in Babbacombe but this is a good base for local attractions and towns and the apartment is a short walk to the model village which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Fantastic experience: Had a great time, it was exactly as described, and more. The location was fantastic. So peaceful, with the sound of some cows early in the morning from a few fields away, to the sounds of birds. On a clear night, the night sky was quite amazing. The Barn itself was so spacious and well layed out to give a very relaxing feel. There was also plenty of games, including table tennis to keep you (and the kids) entertained. James from Fresh Escapes was excellent at communication and was a top host. Really recommend. 5*

The property is beautifully presented and in an ideal and very peaceful location. Staying at a property with a downstairs shower room and bedroom was essential and Strelna Coach House provided the perfect facilities. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

Fantastic experience: We have just got back from a fabulous week at The Terrace in Teignmouth! The house was beautiful and was in the perfect location for beach days with the kids! It was beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable a true home away from home! The team at Fresh Escapes went above and beyond for us, the TV broke and it was quickly replaced even being delivered by James on his day off to be installed about an hour later! Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay we will definitely be looking to you for future ‘escapes!’

Positive experience: Had a lovely stay at Huxham View in Exeter. Spotlessly clean inside, fantastic views. Response to my queries were dealt with promptly. A few days before our stay I asked for reassurance that the BBQ would be clean and asked about whether chemicals would needed to be added to the hot tub and whether tester strips would be left. I was reassured that all would be fine and to call if there were any problems. Unfortunately the BBQ wasn't clean but cleaners were sent at 4.30 (I had asked for earlier but this was not possible), the cleaners did a good job in the time they had but at 6pm we had to ask them to leave, as this had already delayed our plans. Three of the beds also did not have bed sheets over the mattress protector, again sorted the following day but we were told that the owner had not provided enough bedding for the size of this property. We followed the rules for the hot tub showering before etc, on Sunday the display on the hot tub showed filter clean was overdue by 6 days we had only been there 2 days (see picture). I am sure had we reported it to Fiona on Sunday she would have tried to resolve it but we did not want more maintenance people to interrupt our stay as this had already happened on the Saturday. Outside area had not been thoroughly cleaned, fully accept that cobwebs, bird droppings can happen after a clean but some of this had been there for some time. Overall experience was great, however the bbq and hot tub concerns had been raised before our stay and I feel that not enough attention was given to this. Housekeeping had been asked to check prior to our stay so not sure what happened. Tester strips for the hot tub had been promised but had not been left for us either. For the overall fee we paid I feel that everything should have been almost perfect. The reply I received is that all my feed back would be passed to the cleaners, owners and pool maintenance company. However, nothing in their reply showed they take responsibility for this but instead implied that it was us not following hot tub rules, the cleaners and maintenance. That said the property is a lovely place to stay.

Fantastic experience: The Apartment was very comfy, clean and modern but by far the best thing about it is the view looking out onto the harbour and bay. Loved sitting out on the terrace early evening with a few drinks listening to the busker down by the sea front. Parking was easy as well always found a spot clean by on the street.

Fantastic experience: We had the most amazing stay here! We stayed in the Maidencombe studio apartment in Torquay, Devon. The view from our terrace was absolutely stunning and luckily we had the perfect weather to be able to sit out and enjoy it. The apartment was perfect and we loved the personal touches like the binoculars so we could look out over the harbour and other areas. I would definitely stay here again, we are hoping to return next summer!

We walked everywhere in Exeter and looked forward to coming home to the property. Negative experience: We have just returned from a 4day break at Swallows end , beautiful setting a great shame and disappointment that the property did not come up to the standards that we’re expecting for the price , no direction to the swimming pool which is actually attached to the owner s house not as shown in the photos on line that make it appear to be near your apartment so you have to trapse all around to find it the hot tub was inaccessible because there was a very large step up to get to the tub step . The property was so dark you needed lights on all the time and we suspect there is a problem with the electrics as they were small lights in the ceiling that would sometimes all work and the half of them would go out it happened in every room the washing machine seemed to be linked to the toilet as the water in the bowl would go grey when the machine emptied and the tap in kitchen sink was dripping constantly because the internet was so poor obviously because it was just extended from the owners property by a plug in extension and no phone signal you could not raise any of these points with fresh escapes who managed the accommodation, I have stayed in fishing lodges that give this place a run for its money my advice look for somewhere else as you will be disappointed when you think you have spent your hard earned money on a treat !

Fantastic experience: We stayed at Huxham house for a family staycation and had an amazingly luxurious stay. The kids really enjoyed themselves and spent a lot of time in the swim spa. The facilities available meant we didn’t have to venture out anywhere for the whole time we were there. It was good that there were those extra thoughtful touches like having milk in the fridge when we arrived. Thank you for an amazing stay and we hope to come back again.

Negative experience: Arrived at property and it hadn't been cleaned yet, when I called to ask what was going on the management team said it wasn't their issue it was the responsibility of the cleaners, by 8pm the house still wasn't full clean and they had to come back the next day. We were only there three days. Poor attitude and spoilt what could have been a lovely break.

Positive experience: Lovely stay - just disappointment with faulty hot tub and poor communication. The rental property itself was a lovely cottage situated conveniently between the two quaint towns of Dawlish and Teignmouth. We were unfortunate that the hot tub was not working for the entirety of our stay - something we discovered only upon arrival to the property! Conversations with Fresh Escapes hinted that this was an ongoing problem with this particular hot tub which only made it more the frustrating as it probably should have been checked thoroughly before our arrival (making us possibly believe they knew it would be faulty). They were great on the day one with communication and told me they had a part ordered and a handyman would be around the following day or at least the third day (our final day). Day 2 passed by without any communication or a visit from the handyman. I had to phone them to try and find out what was going on. They guaranteed the part would be there for my last day. Again this day passed without ANY communication - I had to call them twice to keep updated. Eventually I got told 'haulage issues' were to blame and the hot tub would not be useable by time we checked out. I was kindly offered a free night by the property owner however I had birthday plans back in London I couldn't shift. Kudos to the owner as she did give a 30% refund for the whole stay which was much appreciated! I wish I could give a better review but the disappointment was rather large as I don't get to see my family much (especially in the last 2 years!) and it was the biggest selling point of the cottage. So I would advise to ensure hot tub is working for your trip and be sure to ask ahead of your stay if its in working order - get a guarantee!

Fantastic experience: Although we didn’t book through Fresh Escapes we have just returned from a Lovely break at Lawsons Place. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s light & airy & tastefully decorated to a really high standard. It is in a great location just minutes walk to the beautiful views over Babbacombe. Everything has been thought of and it was spotlessly clean. The owners have put the guests experience at the heart of the renovation. We felt instantly relaxed the second we walked through the door. There is dedicated off street parking making it easy to load & unload the car, especially if you have little ones to keep an eye on. We can’t recommend Lawsons place highly enough. We can’t wait to come back.

Fantastic experience: We enjoyed our 3 night family stay at Strelna Coach House over the New Year. The property was even better than the pictures and the listed details given. French Escapes provided us with clear instructions and covered every aspect of detail that was required prior, during and after our stay. We found them very professional in the way that they conduct themselves. Very efficient and responsive. Would definitely book a property again through them.

Negative experience: Really disappointed with the experience I've had with Fresh Escapes. I wrote to them more than a week prior to my stay at the Swift Return property (also considering my booking was only two days before I wrote to them), making them aware that I will not be able to go ahead with the visit for very personal reasons (and I fully explained the situation in details). The response I've had was that unfortunately I can't cancel and get a refund because they can't guarantee somebody else will book the property within the period I chose and that they have to guarantee that the money go to the owner. As a result I've wrote to my bank and submitted an official application to claim a refund. I believe their attitude /approach was totally unhelpful and unacceptable considering the reasons I've had for not going ahead with the booking. Unfortunately I will not recommend them as it's obvious that the customer is not important to them and it's not first priority, but only the money matters to them. I would certainly not even think about booking with them in the future, never again!!!!!
