Fantastic experience: We had an absolutely fantastic trip to the USA arranged by Gavin and his team. Everything was top class, great communication and very helpful. The hotel choices were brilliant and also the car hire. I definitely recommend Pillinger travel, they are my first choice to organise a holiday like this.

Negative experience: As this is the first day I will make sure to amend my review with any positive/negative experiences due to Pillingers. My partner had gone through the effort of organising an amazing 2 weeks of activities while visiting Hong Kong and Japan. She did an amazing job and we thought/expected everything to run smoothly. We’ve been off the plane not even 4 hours and already we’re stressed to high heavens. There was no helpful advice/links offered to us to assist in getting from Hong Kong international to our first Hotel. No worries we will sort that out (harder than we thought but we got there). Once arriving at the hotel, on check in we were told (at 8am) that we can’t check in until 2pm. 6 hours away. This was not put on our itinerary, any emails or verbally explained to my partner. So seeing as we left the UK at 11am on Monday, and I’m writing this at 9am Tuesday and we still haven’t seen a hotel room yet it really doesn’t set our trip off in the right way. We can be forgiven for feeling pessimistic about the rest of the trip due to 2 other factors: our tickets not arriving until 3 days before we left which stressed my partner out immensely only to be told it wasn’t a Pillinger mistake and they would be with us asap. When they finally arrived it turned out that they’re e-tickets and we could have saved so much anxiety if we were just emailed. No? Secondly, when trying to see if it was our error that led to us being here 6hrs before check in, we noticed that the rail ticket provided for our 9/10days in Japan (and was told it would last the duration) is only valid for 7 days meaning we have our own transport to sort out after. Wouldn’t be an issue if we weren’t promised a travel pass for our entire time in Japan. It’s is disappointing to say the least and it’s worrying that my partner is worried about me writing this review incase the company cancel the rest of our trip. I am happy and eager to find a resolution to this situation as it’s left us both really upset having forked out over £6000 for this holiday.

Fantastic experience: We have just got home from a fabulous Disneyworld holiday which we booked through Pillinger World Travel. From booking all through to coming home Pillinger staff have been nothing short of outstanding delivering the very best customer service possible. We chose to go at this time of year due to annual leave for our family of 4. I would reccomend Easter time or any other time but summer for anyone thinking of going only because of the storms expected in Florida at this time of year. August is notorious for torrential rain which we did experience. It did not stop us from doing anything, we just planned differently. I love to shop on holiday , the rain gave us plenty of time to do this , so many malls Pillinger World Travel until next time , a relaxing holiday please!

Fantastic experience: Another fantastic trip arranged by Pillinger World Travel. This is our 6th time booking with Gavin and the team. The team have a personalised and professional approach, making recommendations where required. They show patience and flexibility in meeting your requirements and provide clear explanations. Communication is 5 star throughout, even checking we had got to the destination and everything was ok. The accommodations in both Orlando and Naples were of a excellent standard, check in was smooth. We wouldn’t travel to the states with anyone else, roll on Vegas (again) next year!

Fantastic experience: I’ve booked through Pillinger twice now, both times to New York, and both times had no issues at all. Each holiday has ran smoothly, all flights have gone ahead as planned with no delays or issues, and we’ve never had any issues checking into the hotels. This time we actually got an extra night for a discounted rate, which made the holiday better than we’d planned. Emails and phone calls are always responded to asap. No complaints, will book through pillinger again.

Fantastic experience: Booked our family holiday with Pillinger and had nothing but a fantastic experience throughout. When entering the shop we were made to feel so welcome and at ease. It made booking so easy, narrowed it down to two hotel choices but no pushiness to book. Time to go away and think which was really nice. We booked and were given so much info about our accommodation and the location in Duba which we found very helpful. Had the best holiday and can’t thank the team enough. We weren’t disappointed and will definitely be using again in the future. We felt like we got a great deal, 5 star service and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: We recently returned from an incredible trip to Tulum in Mexico booked by Andrew at PWT. My request was slightly different to the norm in that both the origin and destination were both abroad. We made enquiries with a number of other companies, none of which were able to assist, so it was great when Andrew confirmed without hesitation that they could help. It was a quick & simple process, reasonably priced and a full itinerary provided via the portal. Andrew listened to my specific requests including the private transfer and made them all possible. Highly recommend and will definitely be using again in the future.

Fantastic experience: Andy at PWT is a great travel agent, he carefully took notes of all the requirements I had for a holiday in February for myself, my partner and 5 year old daughter and within a few hours had multiple options for us to choose from. He provided great advice on what destinations would be suitable for the time of year and found flight times ideal for travelling with a child. Booking was quick and simple, prices extremely competitive and I was given a full itinerary upon booking. Highly recommended and will certainly be booking again.

Fantastic experience: I have recently booked my flights from America to the UK via Gavin and Andrew at Pillenger Travel. It is the first time I have used them as they were recommended by a friend. They were totally fantastic, they were patient and very understanding of someone who isn’t great at IT ( wrong generation). Andrew was patient, kind and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the flights and travel times. His suggestion not to travel through Atlanta as it would be too far for a 85 yr old to walk through late at night. He booked our hotel at the airport and called to make sure we were ok and all checked in. Great customer service. We will definitely book all our trips through Andrew in the future. Fantastic experience: My husband and I have just returned from the holiday of our Dreams, in the Seychelles. I must say that when we booked it I was a little taken aback by the cost however, was quite reassured by Andrew and Gavin that it would be truly a holiday that we would not regret. Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK. SERVICE IS ABYSMAL. THEY DO NOT CARE AFTER YOUR DEPSOIT IS PAID. This is our experience from the start to finish and not a call from Gavin himself from the time we paid our deposit to now to try and help our concerns. 1. We booked late July 2021 and I noticed my booking confirmation was wrong (it said the wrong date and destination) and noted it to Pillinger on 4th August via email, then called them after having no response on the 10th August, to then still have heard nothing by 21st August. 2. I sent this email to Gavin who assured me it would be arriving on Monday 23rd August. The Itinerary arrived on 24th August. 3. Waiting over a week for an ATOL certificate. This was not sent automatically either as it should be by ATOL website requirements, I had to request the certificate myself. 4. ATOL Certificate was then incorrect and only noticed by me (said we were going for 41 days instead of 10). This was replaced two days later after I spotted the errors. 5. On 5th April 2022 I signalled my concerns about our trip to Barbados (reg testing requirements), it took a month for it to even be acknowledged via email with no suggestion of our options going forward. 6. In mid May my options were still unresolved however after another phone call to Ella she gave me the option of going to Cancun (great), but when she sent me the itinerary for this, it showed that to come home we had to go through Atlanta which meant another Covid test which meant not solving my issues and I may as well go to Barbados. When I pointed this out via email and tried to call I was promised that I would be emailed on Monday, then Tuesday etc and nothing. I was getting increasingly concerned so I went to social media because I had literally no way forward at this stage. 7. I put an angry emoji as a reaction to two posts on there page. They deleted them and reposted them so I did it again. I was then met with a message from Charlotte Pillinger personal facebook page through my personal Facebook (GDPR violation aside), this message was very rude, she stated that she was doing a marketing apprentiship. She proclaimed to not know who I was, said she didnt know what I was trying to achieve and that she was offended. I have shown this message to my bridal WhatsApp group who were all taken aback by her rude response. I told her how she should have instead asked if she could help and if there was an issue, and i asked to have her office or her dad (Gavin) email me. She didnt reply. 8. I then sent an email stating all of my issues, how upset i was and copied Gavin in. Gavin never once emailed me back or called me. This was a very heartfelt email which showed I was at my wits end. Ella in there office called me and finally confirmed what I knew, that going to cancun via atlanta was not possible. 9. Ella then told me Gavin would then look into what was possible if we stayed in USA. This was on a Thursday afternoon I believe. Come Monday morning I had not recieved anything (they are open saturdays). I requested that I have more information and information for cancellation by 6pm that day or I would assume all fees would be paid back to me. I felt like I was the lowest of the low to them. It made me so upset and so stressed. Andy then emailed me options at 1:46pm. 10. Andy then put forward an itinary whereby we wouldnt fly until 4:45pm the first day of our holiday - basicall making 1 day useless. I had to request this to be 12:45pm after looking myself to find a better flight. He said he could do this free of charge - why wasnt it the first option? Where they trying to now give me a bad experience? I was met with the following outlandish costs to change my holiday: £15 pp flight supplier admin fee £150 pp Pillinger World Travel admin fee Losses from original booking are as follows, £320 (fully published internal flight) We then decided we would rather lose £560 than the monies it would cost to rebook with this company. I had no faith left. Stressed. Tired. Full review is attached as there is a character limit.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic local agents with good knowledge and experience, I would use them again 100% and would absolutely recommend Pillinger World Travel. My wife and I had a wonderful trip to Texas, USA, with our two young children. We managed to get really good value on our flights and hotels thanks to Andy and Gavin. They shared their ideas and views which really helped us to decide the best options for our holiday. Our itinerary was expertly planned and it was great to have a direct contact in case we had any questions, thanks Andy. It was refreshing to get contacted on return from our holiday asking how much we enjoyed ourselves. Little touches like this help make a memorable and personal experience.

Fantastic experience: We booked a winter trip to Iceland through Pillinger World Travel - we had seen an itinerary on a travel blog and wanted the follow something similar ourselves - Andy couldn't help us enough to choose hotels and car hire to suit our plans. We found the experience much easier than booking everything separately ourselves, and have now booked a Greek island trip through Pillinger for the summer!

Fantastic experience: We have been booking with Pillinger since 2008 and have used them multiple times for tailor made holidays to America. We have also recommended them to family and friends who have also now had holidays with them. We had originally booked with them to travel to Singapore / Thailand in April 2020 and then a trip to New York March 2021 and Florida September 2021. All of which we have have to rebook due to Covid, with the Singapore / Thailand being rebooked 4 times and has now changed to Maldives / Dubai. We finally managed to get on our trip to New York in April and everything was perfect. Right from the service received by Pillinger, the flights with Aer Lingus and our stay at the Iroquois Hotel which was recommended to us by Pillinger. We now can't wait till June when Covid allowing we will hopefully be travelling to the Maldives / Dubai for our long awaited 2020 holiday and then September 2023 for our trip to Florida. Thank you Pillinger for all your help over the last couple of years.

Fantastic experience: We would definitely recommend Pillinger World Travel. My now Wife and I finally managed to get married on our 4th attempt due to COVID and at the last minute was able to get away on our dream honeymoon to the Maldives. We even had a nightmare situation after realising one of our passports had expired a day before leaving and the team at Pillinger World Travel worked tirelessly to help us re-arrange so we did not lose all of our money that we had already spent.We can't fault the team at all and will definitely be using them again for our future holidays. I have 2 amazing handpicked holidays waiting to go on to Mauritius and Orlando. The reason why I keep booking is because of the personalised service, attention to detail and great prices. I've always booked via Gavin who is fantastic and most recently booked with Andy, who has been really attentive and fulfilled my strict booking criteria and ever so helpful and knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: I’ve been reading some bad reviews about pillinger world travel over people waiting for their money back, Surely it’s money already spent so what! your not going on that trip incase you haven’t noticed there’s a pandemic, cancelled flights etc, I’ve booked to go on a trip too which has been cancelled twice so hopefully 3rd time lucky for this November, I wasn’t expecting my money back just change the dates of your trip. Gavin Pillinger is a small travel agent hence why his holidays are reasonable this is why I’ve been on a few trips to the USA. Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE!!!! We booked to go Florida 2020 obviously due to covid, we didn’t end up going, we moved to 2021 again didn’t end up going and moved dates again. We had to keep paying more and more as they said flights went up, villa has gone up etc, We paid it and then the 3rd time they said we needed to pay more we decided enough was enough and we couldn’t keep paying!! What was a good holiday deal turned into an expensive one! We decided to cancel as we couldn’t afford to pay more and more each month as they kept asking for, they took off nearly 30% of what we paid, they didn’t transfer our money until about 2 months of cancelling and was told it would be 10-15 days sent via bank transfer it actually took 25 days!!!! No apology, nothing. Staff are helpless and rude - DO NOT BOOK

Our trip to Florida had been cancelled two years in a row and so we opted to go to Barbados. The assistance we had from all the team in rearranging this trip was seamless. Negative experience: First time booking a holiday with Pillinger and will not be using them again. Refused to provide a refund, despite the fact the hotel/flights had been cancelled (due to Covid) and their respective websites stated refunds would be issued. We were offered a credit note/voucher (initially this was for less than what we paid), but the holiday was for an occasion with another couple who received a refund for their holiday booked with a different travel company. They were keen for us to re-arrange and would've helped with this, but in this unknown circumstances we just wanted a refund as our holiday had been cancelled due to the pandemic. Plus, we were going for a 30th birthday, it defeats the object to re-arrange, plus the other couple we were travelling with received a full refund from the travel company they used - we will be using them in future! Sounds like we are not the only one's who have suffered by booking through this company. Originally they were very helpful in the arrangement and booking of our holiday. Coincidently they don't accept credit card payments over £1000 so you aren't covered by the CC chargeback. I would definitely say think twice before booking with this company

Fantastic experience: I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews. I booked a large family holiday to Orlando for August 2020 which was obviously cancelled due to Covid19. Aside from the massive impact that Covid19 has had on everybody they have been supportive of changes I need to make prior to this due to significant life changing events to a member of our party. Then throughout this year they have been really helpful in rebooking for 2021 whilst keeping any additional costs at a minimum. I have no issues using and recommending Pillinger World Travel going forward.

Negative experience: Booked to go to Florida with the family in April, a week before travel we were put into lockdown by the government. Pillinger are non-responsive, take no accountability whatsoever and have shown zero compassion towards me or my family and have left a very sour taste in my mouth. If I could give them zero stars I would as the service, or lack there of, is horrendous. Avoid this company like you’re avoiding the pandemic!

Negative experience: Please Stay away from this company if you don’t want to Lose Your Money . Myself and my friends booked with this pathetic company in May of this year paying around £10000 For a holiday . We have not received a penny back . This company are a load of Crooks not worth 1 Star never mind 5 . I SAY AGAIN DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY OR YOU WILL LOSER YOUR MONEY.

Negative experience: ** "Empty promises, evasive staff, 4 months later and still no refund! ** I can appreciate COVID has impacted the entire travel industry HOWEVER..... after been forced into accepting a partial refund for our group booking to Vegas this year, we are still yet to receive a single pound; despite waiting now over 4 MONTHS!!!! We are becoming increasingly concerned as both Virgin Airlines and MGM resorts (airline & resort booked with) have announced they have processed all refunds, however we are still waiting. They believe sending a monotonous and robotic "It will be with you shortly" message, every now and again, will suffice with no real explanation to the delay, which is completely unacceptable. It makes things worse when your friends are telling you their refunds had been processed in a matter of weeks with other travel companies..... Leaving an online review was a last resort, but we hope the Pillinger team will do the right thing and act ethically !!!

Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY We have still not received a penny back of our ATOL protected package holiday worth over £10K plus which was booked back in March 2020. Virgin Airlines and MGM resorts who the booking was aligned with announced they processed all refunds however Pillingers offered a “partial refund”, keeping almost 20% for themselves for “administration fees”, which isn’t lawful and 7 MONTHS down the line we are still waiting as they have ignored any form of contact with us and we are left helpless and worried we may never see our money from Pillingers. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

Negative experience: Distressing to say the least. Booked a package holiday which was cancelled; 4 months later, still not had a penny back. We even accepted a partial refund despite the holiday been cancelled by the travel company and NOT ourselves. Both the airline and hotel we were staying in confirmed they’d processed all refunds which can only mean this company are keeping hold of ALL the monies owed to our party. Avoid at all costs. Ethically and professionally extremely disappointing.

To keep it brief, almost 3 MONTHS on they have NOT PAID A PENNY BACK of our £10k plus package holiday to Las Vegas that was cancelled at the start of May 2020 due to Covid 19. The other option was a voucher which is worthless if the company goes bust, so this wasn’t an option. What choice did we have? Holding onto our cash is very disappointing and frustrating, with the current climate in the travel industry we are becoming more and more worried we may never see our money from Pillingers. This is a last resort leaving a review but we feel we have no where to go. No doubt this review will be responded to with legal jargon and smoke and mirrors, we hope Pillingers do the right thing and process our refund.

Fantastic experience: A great travel agency Debbie organised my birthday holiday to San Francisco and New York.Was a great holiday and experience.I dont normally use travel agents but for this one i wanted it to be just right and it was will def use them again.Im already looking for another package for 2022 ( cant do 2021 as im getting married in cyprus) but def going to use these again.Thankyou again for everything.

Fantastic experience: Dealing with Pillinger couldn't have been easier Being able to pay for the holiday made things a whole lot easier to budget for. We had 11 nights spread over New York, San Francisco and Las Vegas. Each hotel was spot on. We requested direct flights wherever possible and Pillinger kept us updated when ever some came available, we were kept updsted with any alternative occomodation, we changed hotel options a few times and the updated information was sent to us . Would we defiantly use Pillinger again they are friendly and very professional, thank you for making it so easy

Fantastic experience: Booked New York and Vegas found the staff exceĺlent especially Debbie. Everything was so well organised and was kept updated on if wanted to upgrade on special offers. We booked again to go Vegas in October. They have amazing Florida offers on which if I go I'm booking with these. Definitely top customer service and satisfaction.
