Positive experience: This would have been a 5 star Review. However, we had difficulty in getting to grips with the Induction Hob cooker as we don't have one at home. There were no instructions available for this device on the property and it caused quite a bit of frustration.

Fantastic experience: Taigh Nan Eilean Lovely holiday home in a beautiful location. The living/dining area was spacious and comfortable. Loved the Harris Tweed curtains, cushions and bed throws. Big windows in the lounge overlooking the bay. Kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the tasty treats in the welcome pack. Friendly host who checked that all was well.

Fantastic experience: Every Summer, since 2018, we book a holiday cottage in Scotland through Unique Cottages. They have so much choice, and you can easily search by using the filter. At the end of July this year, we stayed at Middlehill Cottage in Glen Clova. It was just the way we wanted, secluded, away from the world, but with many walking-, shopping- and eating-out trips within easy reach. The cottage was spacious for 3 adults and 2 dogs, very clean and very well equipped. We could highly recommend the cottage and Unique Cottages for the correct service. We've never had any problems with our holiday cottages by Unique Cottages. Looking forward to our next booking!

My property was launched late in the season with minimal notice yet the team worked hard to get all the info up and running ready to take bookings. Since then I've had an amazing response with no gaps and 2026 nearly full already! Their system is really easy and user friendly with reminders and guest info sent out on my behalf. Communication is very fast and supportive. Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: 1 Luskentyre is a wonderful cottage in a fabulous location on the Isle of Harris. Everything we needed was at hand, with comfort and tasteful design present in every detail. We were also blessed with the most marvellous week of weather, with clear blue skies and spectacular sunsets. We recommend it wholeheartedly.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing farmhouse Blackhill Farm is! It delivered everything we could have wanted and more, including highland cows on our doorstep! The house is well equipped and beautifully decorated with care and attention paid to every detail. The sense of serenity and tranquility within the house is quite unique. We did a lot of activities in the area during the day and it was lovely to come back to the house after a tiring day, to toast marshmallows on the firepit while relaxing to the sound of the river babbling in the background or have some hard fought family games nights in the spacious living room. Red squirrels frequently raided the window feeders. The views from the surrounding fields are spectacular. Thank you for sharing your special place with us. P.S. A big shout out to the Tesco delivery driver who found us and safely delivered our grocery order on time the day we arrived.

Fantastic experience: Lovely cottage. Very comfortable bed and seating areas. Kitchen had everything we needed and the garden was a delight. The owner was there to greet us and always on hand to help and a lovely welcome pack of goodies including home made marmalade. I’m sure we will be back .

Positive experience: This is the second time we've stayed in this cottage and it felt like coming home when we arrived. It's well equipped and comfortable with beautiful views and excellent parking. Although it's on the main road from the mainland, you barely notice the traffic, even sitting outside at the back. Because it's on the main road, it's very convenient for the rest of the island. Approx 3 miles to Broadford, with plenty of shops and restaurants. It's all on the flat so excellent if you have mobility problems. Unique Cottages are extremely good - a person answers if you ring, and are always friendly and non corporate and they're very efficient. We were a little sad to see that the cottage had gone downhill since our visit last year - it's looking a little uncared for, even small things like pans being put back into the cupboard unwashed, the sort of thing that should be checked by the cleaners really. A lick of paint, freshening up, would make a world of difference. It felt, and looked, a little unloved. I'd love to live in this cottage and it would be very easy to make it perfect.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service, the properties on offer are always different from the norm. Fabulous scenery where the properties are and some are very unusual. All properties are well looked after and have excellent reviews.

Positive experience: We spent a week here in June. The owner had left lots of goodies including milk and biscuits which was kind, in the large kitchen/dining room. We also had the use of the on-site EV charger. We have a dog and the large enclosed garden was great. Lounge is a good size but does have a leather suite. I’m not a fan, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. DVD player and loads of DVDs. Three double bedrooms upstairs with comfortable beds but oh dear, the bathroom. Taking it that 6 people could stay here there is one bathroom upstairs and it is an en suite and it is very small. There is a toilet/shower room downstairs but that also is very small with little shelving. Such a shame as it is otherwise a lovely house. Nice part of Scotland to be in. Kenmore has shopping and there is a nice walk along the river. Aberfeldy with its nice bookshop and Pitlochry and Killin aren’t far away.

Fantastic experience: Creel House was very well presented, very clean and tidy. Very well supplied with crockery, utensils and kitchen appliances. In fact, we believe this to be the best house we've had for overall cleanliness, "feel" and location. Plenty of interesting places to visit in the local area. Five stars all round.

Fantastic experience: We stayed at Dorlin Cottage for a week, and what a wonderful week it was! The cottage is in a spectacular location that has everything you could possibly expect in The Highlands. A romantic ruined castle, fabulous bay, wonderful sunsets, walks from the door, wildlife in abundance, perfect for relaxing, paddle boarding, kayaking, or just soaking up the sounds of the sea. The house itself has real history and is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. It’s a dream come true..

Fantastic experience: This cottage is ideal if you want just birdsong - sublime. The cottage itself is attractive and comfortable with everything you would need for a restful, hassle free stay. Duns, the nearest small market town, has a supermarket, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. The Black Bull provided a good menu and very good food. A little further afield on the coast were lovely walks, ice creams and fish'n'chips. North Berwick shouldn't be missed, especially The Drift restaurant overlooking Bass Rock. The owners of this cottage live across the stream. They are delightful and helpful. We had a wonderful week with our friends and their beautifully behaved dog.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful cottage and location. Will certainly return. However, the house would benefit from double glazing, which would also cut costs and save energy. Plus the fireplace is a bit primitive.

Fantastic experience: Superb holiday cottage. Very well fitted out with everything you could need. Immaculate throughout. Very comfortable. There’s good WiFi and there’s a dedicated parking spot. Electric charging at the public carpark at the top of the hill. Handy for touring around Fife. We will be back to this venue. One point to note is that it is on three levels and the stairs are quite steep. Other than that it’s perfect.

Fantastic experience: We have been renting holiday houses through Unique Cottages for over 15 years and it’s our first port of call for our Scotland trips. The staff are friendly, professional and helpful. The properties we have stayed in have all been fabulous. We have stayed 14 times at Bunallt Eachain and this summer we will make our fourth trip to Sea Shore House. We also have a booking for next February and a provisional booking for summer 2026. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Pitcarmick Mill is one of the most incredible lodges we have ever stayed at . The original mill refurbished to the highest of standards whilst retaining so many of the original features . Private , secluded in the heart of the estate and beautiful Perthshire countryside . The Hickey Bath is incredible , total relaxation under the stars ! Couldn’t recommend this beautiful gem more highly , the housekeeper is absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble ! As a result of staying we now use environmentally friendly fire lighters , we bought a new mattress and a star gazing hare - all found at Pitcarmick mill . We are already booked to go back

Negative experience: We booked Islay cottage through Unique cottages, which has no internet ( our error) and is a very cold house. We sadly were in the property when storm Éowyn hit Argyll and Bute. There was no contact 24hrs before storm hit from the owner or cleaner. we had no heating, no lights and only a few logs which we had brought from the shop for an open fire. There was no help from the owner and we were left to our own devices with only a few tealights and a gas stove which could not be used due to the extreme winds. We managed to get hold of the cleaner who told us about the seven tea lights and gas stove, before our mobiles went.surely the duty of care should have been actioned on the Thursday, we should of been told about the tea lights and stove! ‍♀️ I had to contact her! This company brushes away your complaint and concerns. the owner has a duty of care to make sure guests are adequately catered for in the event of an extreme issue. We couldn't even light the fire as the wind would bellow down the chimney and set both fire alarms off directly above the fire. We had to sit in the dark and go to bed with multiple quilts and our clothes on. The only help we received was from a neighbor who the next morning turned up with a flask so at least we could have coffee. I know these where extreme conditions, but every property should have a torch and some form of additional heat. I contacted the company who washed there hands of it and passed it to the owner, ever email started from the company without prejudice!!!! Really!!!! The owner who called once when I couldn’t talk, so I called back he was in a meeting and a week later, NO return call, this company do not ask clients who are unhappy with there accommodation to leave a review, um that’s very unusual! They don’t want to help resolve issues and the owners should have a DUTY of CARE and at least get back to the clients! I will not be using this company again as they really do wash there hands of complaints, plus a bit weird never been asked by the company to leave a review. Um! ‍♀️

Fantastic experience: This is a lovely big cottage in a beautiful and rural spot. Stunning scenery around. Large and comfortable sitting room with a fabulous wood burning stove. Large and well equipped family dining kitchen with everything you could need. Lovely and sunny conservatory where you can enjoy breakfast and watch the little birds feeding in the garden. Hosts were warm and welcoming and left an extremely generous welcome pack. Great spot to explore Argyll.

Negative experience: We had a very disappointing experience with Unique Cottages. Our booking was for seven nights at a remote property in Glendale during snowy weather. Before confirming, we explicitly asked them, on the day before our arrival, if the road to the property would be accessible with our standard rental car (not a 4x4), as we were aware of potential difficulties. Unique Cottages assured us it would be fine. However, when we arrived after a long drive, we found the road dangerously icy and steep—completely unsuitable for our car. Neighbors confirmed that only a four-wheel drive could safely manage the conditions until the house. Despite this, Unique Cottages provided no meaningful assistance. The property owner canceled our entire reservation instead of allowing us to skip just one night until conditions improved. What made matters worse was that Unique Cottages misrepresented the accessibility of the property and failed to help us secure alternative accommodations, leaving us stranded after hours of travel. Adding to our frustration, Unique Cottages seems more focused on promoting their Feefo reviews than addressing real customer concerns. They proudly claim their Feefo reviews are "100% legitimate" and dismiss their poor 2/5 rating on Trustpilot by blaming the platform for allowing unverified reviews. However, based on our experience, their "Platinum Trusted Service award" does not reflect the level of service we received. Furthermore, if other customers like us end up with their booking canceled last minute by the owner, they will never get the chance to leave a review on Feefo since no stay occurred. I personally never received any link to leave my review there, which raises questions about how comprehensive and representative these reviews truly are. We cannot recommend booking through them, as they failed to take responsibility or provide adequate customer care in a difficult situation.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful cottage ideally located on Skye and within easy access to all the areas of interest. The cottage was spotlessly clean with fabulous views and a large enclosed garden safe for the dogs to run freely. The owner was close at hand if required and extremely helpful. Negative experience: Like other reviews, I am appalled at the way Unique Cottages treats its customers, especially in terms of the deposit. Without ANY proof of supposed damage to 4 towels and a tap, like photos, they have Without £100 of our deposit. Would never use them or stay at Carnmore Cottage in Balquiddher. Disgusted.

Fantastic experience: We have recently trusted Unique Cottages to offer our much loved bothy on Sanna bay, Ardnamurchan - Rudh Dubh. They have been superb. They understood the special nature of Rudh Dubh, and helped us market the bothy to those who'd enjoy a holiday in this unique location. They offered several helpful suggestions to enhance the visitor experience, and sent a lovely member of their team to inspect the cottage and show it at its best with excellent photographs. Negative experience: Stayed Springbank house Islay let by Unique cottages. August stay. We continue to seek return of holding deposit. Owner attributing blame for a water leak to myself and guests.(Stay 19-25 August).Very poor cleaning and maintenance and the bothy full of black mould.Not impressed at all and feel insulted and unfairly treated by UC and owner.

Fantastic experience: We stayed at Leac Cottage, Aberchalder. The cottage is perfect for 2 people and we also took our dog Rhea. We were not lucky with the weather but the rain didn't stop us exploring. As Rhea loves the water we started every day at Loch Oich, which is a few minutes walk from the cottage. There are plenty of walks and we would say definitely do the canal walk to Fort Augustus, the scenery is beautiful and we were able to see locks at work. The cottage is very inviting with a wood burning stove for the cooler nights, although we didn't use it. A roomy kitchen with everything you need, a warm spacious bathroom and a very comfortable bed. We loved our holiday at Leac Cottage and we have booked it again. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Had to cancel at last minute. Although we had insurance , I was disappointed with the mercenary attitude. As an NHS worker and ex military service personnel, I would not want any one to feel excluded and dismissed from any negotiation in my interactions. Thank you for your reply. I agree that all you state is correct. I guess it's the rigidity and money orientated attitude over customer assistance I find offensive.

Negative experience: Stayed in one of their cottages . It was fairly clean and a peaceful area near Doune but not much to do . The cottage needed a few issues resolving . The chair covers were a bit grubby half empty jars of food in cupboards flat pillows, coffee so old in jar it had gone solid . Most of our deposit has been kept back for electricity . I find it hard to believe we used £12 electric a day when we went out every day so be warned and take Meter readings yourselves

Negative experience: Went to one of there unique dog friendly cottages. Only thing unique was how uncomfortable and not dog friendly it was. Left after a week of a two week holiday and received no refund at all. This is because it's not a holiday rental your a TENANT and you have to give your landlord the opportunity to fix things. As I explained too many to fix. Plus said no other complaints but no good rating either so maybe they don't actually put any complaints on there site?

Negative experience: Please do not book with this company - I have had months of grief due to booking with them. Completely soulless, just out to obtain your money at any cost and entirely lacking in customer service. I had booked a large cottage for my wedding accommodation and due to my wedding being cancelled as a result of COVID-19, got in touch to cancel. At this stage they offered no understanding of our circumstances and said the owner had stated he would only refund if our dates were booked by someone else, or if travel restrictions meant we could not use the cottage. Last month, we found out that travel restrictions meant we would not be able to travel to the cottage, which meant they owed us a refund according to their own stipulated rules. I emailed them requesting a refund on three occasions and they failed to respond to any of these. Some time after this, I noticed that they had re-let the dates that we had booked (they said they would not notify me when this happened and it was my responsibility to get in contact if I expected a refund). Again, they did not respond to my email requesting a refund or answer their phones on the two occasions I called, failing also to respond to the voicemail I left. Finally, after more than a month chasing them up to get my refund I got an answer to another email in which they agreed to refund - minus the booking fee. Despite everything they have put me through they won't refund this as a goodwill gesture, making it very clear they could not care less about customer satisfaction or making up for their dreadful service. Please, avoid, avoid, avoid this company - I have never encountered such appalling customer service, and they are operating simply to rip off customers.

Negative experience: I had to cancel a booking due to my husband being ill. Under the terms of the insurance I did not get a refund, which accepted. However I asked if the cottage was re let for the week, which I suspect it was, but I got no reply to the question. So, did the company gain by my loss? I think so. Does the owner know?

Negative experience: Avoid Avoid - do not give this agent any business.....Unfortunately holiday booked for 14/11/20 had to be cancelled - due to Coronavirus lockdown restrictions... crossing border from England to Scotland. Waiting for Housekeeping deposit refund £175 (automatically refunded apparently, after the holiday if you haven't trashed the cottage!), Deposit refund and property fee refund. Very unprofessional not replying to emails! If there is a problem, own it, do not try to avoid and dodge a bullet!!!!!!!!! There are others in the same situation as me!!!!!
