Fantastic experience: Just back from Treasures of Turkey 5 day trip. Great itinerary and interesting sites visited. Good hotel, dinners arranged by rep each evening for the group. Excellent friendly company, Fiona the rep was great, looked after us well as did our local guide who was with us throughout the tour. Highly recommend this tour but be prepared for wet weather, it rained every day we were there in late March!

Fantastic experience: I've been travelling with Solo for 15 + years and never had any problems. A few weeks ago I wanted a shortbreak in the sun and went with another company as the dates and timescale suited me. Big mistake, everything went wrong on this solos so called escorted trip. I will never use that company again and will stick with Solos exclusively in the future. But could do with some 5 day trips solos please .

Positive experience: I'm tavelling with Solos to New Zealand this April and have just completed my booking with Solos, and have been invited to leave a review. Solos is quite expensive, but that is the price I pay for being single. Each holiday is a lottery, because you're bundled in with a group of complete strangers, sometimes the group 'works' and sometimes it doesn't. What brought me here today is not-an-inconsiderable flaw they made with my booking. The first part of the trip involves flying to LHR from Manchester (about a 1 hr flight) and Solos offered me (for the 13th April ) just one flight that departs MAN at16:55. Check-in for the Sing flight starts at 19:05 and we agreed that this didn't leave any margin for a delay. Solos suggested alternatives to this that were flights to LHR on the 12th April, which, of course , would have made necessary hotel bookings, and protracted London waiting times. Out of frustration I visited my local travel agents, and quick as a flash they found for the 13th, a flight from MAN at 10:55. Ideal, really, accepting a noon to 19:05 wait/delay-buffer at LHR. I'll never know why Solos didn't offer this flight in the first place (the flight is plain-as-day on the BA website) but the alternatives they offered to me, would have been very costly and tedious. 7/3/26 Just received a response from Solos, as shown. Just to be clear, it wasn't that Solos were unable to 'secure my flights'. Fact is they made a mistake that would have cost me money and time

Positive experience: Courses were very good, company was excellent, organisational skills of Selma ( our leader) left a lot to be desired. With a total of 16 people present, including Selma, mathematically and logically from a social point of view, everyone gets to play with all others at some point. Not according to Selma!! I played with a total of 6 other men and 2of those were by accident as one buggy team had to switch because the late arrival at the first tea. I think Selma had a good holiday!!! Result :- I would gladly go on another Solos holiday, but not with Selma in charge, thank you for a good week despite our host. Mervyn Coombs

Negative experience: SOLOS HOLIDAYS PROVIDES THE WORSE GUEST SUPPORT It has been at least over a week since Solos Holidays said they would reach out to me in their reply to this review - no one has contacted me I've been on numerous holiday tours and Solos Holidays, U.K. provides the worse customer service. I'm on a Solos Holidays U.K tour now in Spain. Was verbally abused by a hotel staff member. Manager wouldn't do anything and Solos Holidays has refused three times to contact their chosen hotel with which they have a relationship. They don't care about their guests. If anything happens you must take care of it yourself They take your money and provide no support.

Fantastic experience: The best solo travel experience I’ve ever had! I booked my first trip with Solos Holidays and it completely exceeded my expectations. Fantastic experience: Our tour guide Gary Bailey was excellent. He spent time with each Solos guest, nothing was too much trouble and any help or concerns anyone had he was certain to deal with them. Gary was entertaining, good humoured, funny, very friendly and knowledgeable. I would be happy to travel with him again at any time. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. My personal issue was that the air-con was switched off centrally and I found my room too hot at night. I was a little disappointed that the menu for dinner was rather limited and did not seem well planned. The food was bland and sometimes unedible, the dinner where we were served whole cuttle fish was unpleasant. However, the staff were friendly and the reception staff in particular were very helpful.

Positive experience: Just back from a trip to Puglia, a wonderful place to visit! Gary was the perfect host, nothing too much trouble, a pleasure to be in his company! Hotel D'Aragona rated 4* was disappointing.. Food was dreadful, Fish followed by Fish most nights, sometimes half cooked. Dietary needs not catered for! Breakfast Buffet not much better, they even ran out of English Breakfast Tea! Staff were slow and definitely not happy in their roles. Solos need to drop this hotel. Apart from that it was a lovely holiday in warm sunshine with Blue Skies..

Nothing was too much trouble he was fun, kind and passionate about his role in making the holiday special. Fantastic experience: Our tour leader (Fiona) was brilliant as was the guide who lead us to many places that had little or no tourists. The only place (Pompeii) that was overrun by cruise tourists caused a small problem, but our guide navigated that as efficiently as was humanly possible. The hotel and staff were lovely and very attentive. This is the first walking holiday I had been on, and Fiona said it was the most difficult that she had led. She organised extra visits to places of interest, which were appreciated by those who went. I am so glad I went and had the right shoes and had trained a little before I went. One ticked off my bucket list

Positive experience: I had a great time on this holiday and met a lovely group of people. The rep Gary was fantastic. The hotel was ok. A long walk from Skala. I did it a few times and it's hard in the heat although they had a shuttle bus . Great pool ,rooms had everything you need and bar and reception staff couldn't do enough for you. The only complaint is the food. Sometimes it was inedible. Stone cold and pretty flavourless. Gary tried his best to get labels so we could see what the food was but one night out group went out and I came back and there were no labels. One night he asked what something was and was told fish and it ended up being like a spam fritter. It's unacceptable. He also got us our own meals cooked for us. He absolutely tried his best. To be honest I've never had such bad food on a holiday. We went out quite a bit. Fine but adds a cost to the trip. Didn't allow that to ruin my holiday and always have a great time with solos.

Positive experience: Just back from Solos 10 night holiday in Skala, Kefalonia. Resort was lovely and met some great people. Solos host Gary Bailey was excellent and very helpful. Booked various trips for people and went out of his way to make experiences happen. The only negatives for me were food could have been better and the hotel was too far out of resort centre for me. Further than expected. Some others may prefer this so it is down to individual choice really. Pool area and rooms were very nice. Hotel staff very friendly especially the receptionists. Overall great time was had. Thanks again solos.

Fantastic experience: My 2nd Solo experience and just got back from 10 nights in Kefalonia with a fabulous group of people and Gary Bailey was our host who was just great - fun, very friendly and supportive to those that needed it, making suggestions to add to the experience. The 4* hotel - Porta Skala booked on a half board basis had very nice and helpful reception /waiting staff but the buffet style food was very poor at Breakfast/Evening - hot food lukewarm or cold and for me inedible, stale bread, limited fresh fruit. Gary reported this on our behalf numerous times and arranged a Greek dish to be made on two evenings that was still served lukewarm prompting us to visit local restaurants in Skala town on three occasions (and at extra cost to ourselves) that we're excellent. The hotel is not 4* & l was charged a Tourist Tax of 100€ where solo travellers are penalised compared to couples who are charged the same amount not per person. I booked the holiday on the basis it was 3* and was not aware in advance of the change in star rating. Solos should not list this hotel until food standards are significantly improved and inspected. Also Solos should have a better gender balance - only two men in our group of 13.

Positive experience: My first trip with Solos and found the group and Gary Bailey very friendly and helpful.The only downside was the hotel especially the food.Hence the 4 stars.The hotel was too far from Scala and even though they had a minibus it soon totted up over the 10 days on top of the tourist tax as no way was it a 4 star hotel.However the best bit was the swimming pool and the bar staff and reception staff were very friendly. I really enjoyed our trips and loved Kefalonia and especially Ithaca.Would of been better if only breakfast as eating out was far better food wise and jellying the group.We had some good laughs and had the bonus of seeing the Red Moon. Would go with Solo again but not half board.

Fantastic experience: Just coming to the end of a fabulous week in Tobago and first holiday with Solos Holidays. From booking, to pre-travel to the holiday itself, the whole experience has been, easy, efficient and friendly. Terry our Tour Leader was fantastic, bringing a positive and calm approach to the whole holiday, making the experience relaxed and fun. Negative experience: If you value your wallet, good food and decent hotels then this company is not for you. As an update to Solos reply which was months after the review there wasn't a satisfactory outcome for such a poor experience. I will never use Solos again.

Negative experience: Sent an email to solos on my return from Tobago and a week later they said they would look into the matter I raised and get back to me. Not a word since. I thought the rep, who is paid to be there looking after Solos guests (that's his job, isn't it) should have at least checked where my missing food was on the last evening. I had told the waitress I was waiting for 2 dishes, a Greek salad and Rosemary Shrimp. He, the rep, had his food, he was looked after. Did he not consider it necessary to see what was happening at the end of the table. Maybe folk like me are of no importance. Fair enough. But I am aware I paid the same as everyone else, my money was taken. I wasn't there as some charity case. Is this what I pay for, to come on a group holiday and be neglected and dismissed. You can check with all the rep I had to Lipari. I am a polite courteous person. I am aware this Tobago rep has a large group to manage, but then so did the rep on the Egypt trip, and the one to the Algarve. For me, this was a very stressful demeaning experience and I won't be using your travel company again. ... On reflection, I should have stood up, and made a big scene right there at the table. Shouted over to the rep that I notice he and everyone else is eating and WHERE IS MY FOOD. That I am a paying customer, not paid staff like himself, and I need to be served!! Yes, this would have the potential to create an unpleasant atmosphere but isn’t it the job of this Solos rep to look after the Solos guests! His ‘sorry’ to me later is just that, a five letter word. It cost him nothing and meant nothing to him or the company he works for, going by the fact they they have not got back to me. Disgraceful behaviour.

Positive experience: I have taken about 7 Solos Holidays and not had any complaints at all. Yes, a couple of hotels were a bit basic, BUT you get what you pay for. The reps have all been helpful and friendly and I would not hesitate to use them again - I have 3 more books with Solos this year.

Negative experience: Had an awful experience on a tour in March and gave feedback, but no response. I chased again and was told feedback is collated, weeks later still not even an acknowledgement! They are quick to take your money but dont care if something goes wrong...very poor customer service.

Negative experience: Dirty hotel, ripped bed sheets and invisible housekeeping, website said 3 restaurants ha ha ha No! Hotel 5 mins from airport so constant low loud flying planes, solos couldn't care less, got your money, profit matters customer satisfaction doesn't, this company used to be amazing, but now it's utterly disgraceful, don't waste your money

Fantastic experience: Iraklis Apartments Gouves Crete 7th October I have rated this holiday 5 stars, as I cannot find fault with any part of the holiday. This was my first Solos holiday. The booking process was exceptional and the actual holiday surpassed any expectations I might have had. The accommodation was just perfect. Sole use for Solos clients was very much welcomed. The Friendly Iraklis family who run the apartments are lovely, helping with anything that you may need. The food and service was great! Our tour leader Gary Bailey was amazing. From the moment we arrived he could not do enough for us. He booked meals out, did quizzes, some went for a pre breakfast dip in the sea with him. Gary was always making sure people were OK, and to let him know if they wanted more information about the area, if we wanted to venture out. He was great fun to be around, and helped make my holiday special, thank you Gary. I met some lovely people and I would thoroughly recommend this trip to single friends, loved it . I would definitely book with Solos again. Angela.

Negative experience: I stayed in their ‘exclusive’ hotel in Beyaz Suite Hotel in Turkey. It was filthy and wasn’t exclusive. There was no internet in the room, the door lock was broken and the fridge didn’t work (..after arguing with me that it did ‍♀️ it took 2 replacements to get one that worked). Solos are aware of the issues but prefer to hide them. I posted the fact that it was dirty in their Facebook travel forum (meant to be where customers discuss trips etc) but their Marketing Dept removed the comments citing ‘hate speech and bullying’ and removed me from the group! No negatives allowed in a travel forum!!

Negative experience: I would give no stars for my recent bad experience, but I can't! I have been on several holidays with solos over the years. On a recent holiday to Benidorm there was major building and renovation work at the hotel, so the outside pool and grounds were out of use with all the noise and dust that you would expect. The holiday was ruined. Solos were in major breach of contract. It has taken a long time just to get a few hundred pounds compensation. Their customer service is very poor and they do not value their customers. I am extremely dissatisfied with their response and will not be using them in the future. I have been a loyal customer and expect to be treated as such!

Positive experience: I have just arrived home from a holiday at the Ionian Paradise Hotel Lefkas. The hotel is dated and could do with a coat of fresh white paint and for me the pool is too small (I like to swim lengths) and the sunbeds need renewing, however , the whole experience made up for these negatives. Luxury it is not but the hotel is spotlessly clean, its location is ideal being near to the main street with cafes shops etc also close to the beach and the harbour with all its restaurants etc. The staff, exceptional: friendly hardworking, patient , informative ,helpful, just wonderful! Thank you Natalie, Madeleine and Alex for your unstinting help and kindness Super breakfast-super everything! The highest praise should , (in my humble opinion ), go to Debs the tour leader . As well as being thoroughly efficient, she is an example of outstanding customer service .I do hope that Solos acknowledge her skills and abilities as an ambassador for the company (and reward her accordingly).Thank you Debs.

Negative experience: I don’t normally tend to put a bad review for any company ,however I had a bad experience with Solos holiday ,I booked a week tennis holiday in Corfu ,I paid more than 2k for this holiday ,9 days before my flight I informed them about a bad tragedy accident with my close family ..I asked for partly refund or giving me a credit.They weren’t sympathetic at all ,they got the whole money .Never use them again and don’t recommend anyone to use this company ..

Negative experience: They use untrained reps with no local knowledge. They link up with local travel agents who provide limited excursions at rip off prices. Check other local travel agents for getter deals. I did and saved 25%. I won't be travelling with Solos again. But the other travellers are lovely despite this.

Positive experience: Choose your destination carefully, if you want a fairly lively crowd (& holiday)make sure you go near a lively resort or at least with activitys included, some holiday's are very quiet & rep's don't generally make an effort in the evening's & don't seem expected to by solos from what I can tell.

Positive experience: I would not recommend Solos Holidays... I have recently been on 2 of their holidays. Their rep was stealing money from the group by deceit and when I told their head office they ignored my email. People were in tears on the holiday because there was no communication of the itinerery and people were treated without respect. Their marketing department are out of control and misuse your email address to bombard you with unwanted advertising. I asked them multiple times to stop this and they ignored all my requests.

Fantastic experience: Have just come back from a second fabulous walking holiday. Hotels vary but if you read the descriptions it does give you a idea. Have done walking in Tuscany and Durrell’s trails in Corfu. Very friendly bunch of people on both occasions. Extremely well organised. If you’re on your own I’d definitely say give it ago. You might make friends like I have. Can’t wait to book the next one.

Negative experience: Do not book your holiday with this company. I was unable to obtain a refund from them for a holiday i booked to Antigua in October 2020 which they cancelled in August 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. I therefore had to contact my bank and credit card company to pursue a full refund which I subsequently received several months later. However, Solos continue to email me with holiday offers for 2021/2022!

Negative experience: My holiday, due to depart on 11 April, was sadly cancelled on 18 March because of Coronavirus. I was offered a credit voucher or a refund but 4 months later after many phone calls and emails they keep telling me that they haven't even started ANY Refunds as do not have sufficient funds. This makes me wonder if they can keep operating, so I would beware of booking any tours with them.

Fantastic experience: I think the bad reviews are very unfair. The standard of accomodation varies but is clearly and accurately described in the brochure. We all know that travelling solo is more expensive but that's the way it is! All Solos holidays have hard working reps available throughout to assist with daily planning, excursions and any problems. I have travelled with them over 20 times and no other singles company is as reliably good in my opinion. At the end of the end day though it's the people that make these holidays so enjoyable and you get out of it what you put in!

Negative experience: The food was awful, just like bad school dinners. The bedrooms were very good.The hosts were average, and tried to justify the poor quality of the food by saying" that they weren't as bad as some locations" not acceptable. The entertainment was ok, however, what's the point in having a quiz if your not going to give us the answers-no chance to learn anything there then. There was also too much pressure to reward the staff, when the cooks were incompetent, the rest of them were good.

Positive experience: Santorini is a wonderful destination , the Villa Solos holidays use is very clean and tidy , very friendly staff and is perfectly adequate...however please be aware the villa has no pool...the sea is 2 min walk away,,,but sometimes you just need to slip into a pool.i went for 2 weeks...but probably 1 week or 10 days is sufficient ( this is not available . view is from the roof terrace .

Fantastic experience: Yes the holidays are a little over=priced and you could get a better deal if you booked it al yourself. But what you are paying for is the chance of having a decent holiday, meeting nice, friendly folk. Also on the Clubsolos (exclusively single hotels) you get a rep who knows all the local bits and bobs. Further, although not a dating holiday, of course there is a chance of romance. But this musn't be your goal! This in my opinion is worth the extra bucks. Also DO NOT USE SOLITAIR HOLIDAYS. Unlike Solos, they will rip you off without any conscience

Negative experience: Stay clear of this agent. They are NOT members of ABTA so you have no support when things go wrong. I learnt this to my cost. Solo have cleverly covered every possible negative outcome in their T's & C's which you agree to when booking with them, allowing them to sell you any standard of holiday that then can not be challenged. They are covered by ATOL which is a government scheme that ensures you get a flight home if the agent goes bust whilst you are away, nothing else. Spend your hard earnt money with an ABTA agent.
