Racing Breaks: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Excellent weekend at the Irish champions weekend, great hotel, good service , dave was very helpful as always, would definitely book again, the trip the the Irish stud was an extra but very interesting trip
Fantastic experience: I've used Racing Breaks quite a few times now and I cant fault them. A couple of times we've not had the welcome drink on arrival and once there was an issue with a transfer but that was sorted quickly! The buses sometimes pick you up too early after the event is one of the only criticisms .. as quite often there's entertainment for an hour after the race. Will be booking another trip soon!
Negative experience: is with regret that I find myself writing this review We have used Racing Breaks previously and had absolutely no complaint with great service throughout On our trip to Ascot this year the hotel service was very good However our visit to Royal ascot on ladies day was not without extreme frustration In your correspondence you asked for us to be ready 10mins prior to departure time, we along with a large number of other race goers were outside at 9.50am Coaches were waiting yet check in was delayed and we eventually left at 10.20am Unfortunately neither the driver or your representative knew the way and were in regular contact with someone throughout the journey taking directions. This led to the coach going the wrong way, needing to turn around and delaying our arrival as well as leaving us stressed as to when we would arrive. We eventually arrived at car pk 10 at 11.45am, 1hr 25mins after leaving and1hr 55mins after your request to be ready to leave, I do not remember reading anywhere that travel time was 1hr 30mins? All in extreme heat, albeit the coach had air conditioning. In your itinerary you had important information Ascot's coach park is a short walk from the entrance The walk is 20mins for us a mobile couple with no ailments or conditions, in our opinion this is not a short walk! The last time we visited ascot with you it was indeed a short walk and we fully expected the same. It seems as though Racing Breaks used a car park further away. The coach home, honestly awful On this occasion the driver took us for a tour of the M3 in both directions Sign posts to Farnborough were ignored and the Satnav that was used was not followed A few passengers were unhappy and the driver was rather rude even though it was the drivers fault! It seemed that one passenger was travel sick probably due to the extended travel time and your representative was dealing with that at the time of the drivers rudeness We eventually got back to the hotel at 8.50pm after leaving ascot at 7.20pm Ascot is a wonderful place unfortunately on this occasion we feel that Racing Breaks let us down and completely took the gloss off what should of been an amazing experience
Fantastic experience: First time using racing breaks we went to royal ascot and stayed at village hotel in bracknell. From the time I enquired to book alway through the process the racing team went on and beyond to make the day awsome to which it was. Just like to shot out to David Arthur and the two gawjus reps Jo and Laura you are all amazing thank you so much. Defo booking again with you for 2026 roll on 2026.
Fantastic experience: Excellent trip to Velka Pardubicka, Well organised both before trip and in Prague by Racing Breaks Staff. One off the bucket list.
Fantastic experience: Superb trip to the ARC - awesome Saturday night entertainment & Longchamp delivered an amazing race day. Excellent support from the Racing Breaks staff.
Fantastic experience: I recently just taken a trip to Paris with racing breaks and I can honestly say I had amazing time. Was stayed at melia defense hotel. The hotel was great. The food was good. All racing breaks staff was so intensive and always ready to answer questions. Had a lovely time at the races will do again.
Fantastic experience: We recently attended the Irish Champions Festival via Racing Breaks and we had a fantastic time. Every aspect of the trip was make easy by the team..... booking the trip was seamless, hotel was great and the transfers were stress free. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Did all 4 days at Cheltenham Festival for the first time with Racing Breaks. We had an incredible time where the atmosphere lived up to expectations, the hotel in Bristol was equally great and offered extensive places to eat/drink after the races each night. Racing Breaks as a whole were superb from initial stages through to transport on the day and made our entire trip effortless. Couldn’t have been any easier and we highly recommend to anyone. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Just complete the first 2 days a Cheltenham, witnessing history with Willie Mullins achieving 100 winners. I brought my son for his Christmas present. We both really enjoyed every aspect. Whole package was booked through Racing Breaks. Every part was first class. Hotel in Bristol was brillant, bus to racecourse was in the company of a very great driver and his assistant and then Cheltenham itself. We went for the cheaper option day 1 and the club option for day 2. Would definitely say club was worth the small extra, so overall a very well organised and very enjoyable experience, thank you
Fantastic experience: Brilliant service from start to finish.
Fantastic experience: An amazing trip booked with Racing Breaks, everything was so efficiently organised and the team were always on hand for anything I needed help with. Would fully recommend to anyone!
Fantastic experience: Great service and great packages. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: Amazing trip to Paris for the Arc. Loved meeting Frankie!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant experience with Racing Breaks, they booked a large group of us to Ascot. Seamless customer service, making a group get together very easy. We stayed in the Fairmont Windsor which was beautiful. Look forward to rebooking next year!
Fantastic experience: Hassle free booking process with flexible payment options
Fantastic experience: Fantastic time in Paris for the Arc last weekend, the team were great and really looked after us!
Fantastic experience: Great trip to the Arc in Paris last week!
Fantastic experience: We was upgraded with no extra cost to queen mother stand. The hotel was in a very good location lovely spacious rooms. The connecting transport to and from the race course was punctual and driver very friendly and welcoming as was our guides. Fabulous way to see the racing would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: We just got back from Cheltenham Gold cup 2023 and wow! Everything from start to finish was perfect. The one time I needed to contact customer service to add on another night accommodation they were so helpful. The hotel, pick ups and of course the day out was brilliant. Will definitely be booking again for next year. Couldn’t recommend them enough.
Negative experience: I've booked for Ascot for my husbands birthday and asked for a hospitality package. I have called twice and left voicemails and have emailed 4 TIMES!!! No response whatsoever in over 2 weeks! I'm due to pay the balance at the end of March but I'm not even sure this company is legitimate! I still am no closer to the hospitality package and its probably too late now. Abysmal customer service!
Negative experience: Booked and paid for 10 persons with hotel accommodation for 2022 Ascot, had to postpone but was assured we could defer until this year, repeated emails and calls not returned and now 5K out-of-pocket.. I have 10 persons looking foward to Ascot this year . Iegal advice now in process
Negative experience: This company is a absolute disgrace and treat customers like something of the bottom of your shoe. Lies and false promises about tickets. Do not use this company under any circumstances please. Told lies about tickets posted out and then lost in the post. Then sent to pick them up at the course (Cheltenham). Only to told then that they had not been ordered in first place.
Fantastic experience: Second year on the spin booking for Gold Cup at Cheltenham. This year included a yard visit at Nicky Henderson's, class. Ed has booked for us both times, good lad
Negative experience: The company is a disgrace. Do not trust them. After we paid the deposit we could not get hold of them for 3 days. When they eventually called us their excuse was that they are busy entering people in Ireland. WHAT? Really? Do not care really. Wanted my triped confirmed and enjoy it. Bad customer care. Bad attitude. Bad . Bad . Bad. Could not get even get my refund back. DO NoT
Negative experience: Disgusting. Didn't notify us that the dates we had booked for Ascot had been changed to the following week. I was unable to change my holidays at work as I am a nurse and the annual leave booking was made months before. I requested a refund and was in communication with a Representative called David. David assured me the refund would be in my bank on Friday 24th January. The refund never transpired. He then notified me that my refund had been "missed" by the accounts department so it will be paid by "03rd February, if not sooner". Today is the 3rd February and guess what? No refund. The organisation is diabolical. Quick to take money, not so much when refunding. I am pursuing matters and escalating this further as the assurances I have been given have been lip service at best. I have all the correspondence and will be taking this much further. AVOID AVOID AVOID at ALL costs.
Fantastic experience: I made the trip to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with Racing Breaks and had a great time! The drinks evening with Frankie and Jim was the icing on the cake! I can’t recommend them highly enough, now looking forward to Cheltenham!
Fantastic experience: booked cheltenham festival for march, great deal and easy to book
Negative experience: The worst customer service ever, didn’t know the answer to any questions and spoke in a very condescending manner, will not be using
Negative experience: Do not use. Been waiting for a refund for months with deadlines promised and constantly missed. Worst company I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with
Fantastic experience: Used them for trip to Laytown. Great service from start to finish. Wide choice of hotels and flight times. Airport transfers were seamless and on time. Attentive staff at hotel and the trip to the racecouse. All in all a fantastic and unique experience
Negative experience: This company is a disgrace, after emails back and forth, when they bother to reply that is, still waiting for our refund from Ascot. Promised tickets would be posted, never turned up found out they had sent them to a random email! After 2 years of waiting we couldn’t go ! Even when given the correct card details for refund they refunded the wrong card , you couldn’t make it up. So my refund is out there somewhere… bank says it’s racing breaks fault and THEIR mistake so they have to trace the money and refund back to me. They don’t read any of my emails and if they do they respond with the same answers. It’s like banging your head against a brick wall. This is my 18yr old daughters Money which she saved up to buy Ascot tickets for my birthday. Basically with holding an 18yr olds hard saved money. Disgusting. They are refusing to give me complaint details and ignore me hoping I’ll go away. No chance, no apology nothing , I’m taking this all the way. They deserve a Minus 5 star rating , shameful
Negative experience: UPDATED. Eventually got a response from Racing Breaks and it appears they have resolved the issues. We now have tickets for races AND hotel are providing an extra night as they have acknowledged it is their fault. Happy with outcome but clearly a stressful situation that could have been avoided with a more prompt response. Previously posted - Having an absolute nightmare getting in touch with this company. Booked for Royal Ascot in 2020 Royal Ascot was cancelled due to Covid. Carried booking forward to 2022. We are due to go next Thursday but received an email today saying that Hotel we booked is no longer available as it is being used for a private function. They offered us another hotel 1 hour away. We have already bought train tickets and booked a separate hotel for first night close to Hotel we were initially offered in package. Nobody responding to emails /calls/messages. We haven't even received tickets for Royal Ascot. At a total loss as to what to do.
Fantastic experience: Booked with racing breaks before the pandemic, obviously everything cancelled but 2yrs later racing breaks honouring my credit's and I'm able to use the credit's in dribs and drabs top marks
Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting company. Cancelled transfers the day of the gold cup. Would not refund even as we missed the races and completely ruined our weekend! Unable to contact them and do not respond to emails or calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Negative experience: Absolutely shocking company had too cancel ascot twice because of covid, then this year offered a different hotel not suitable so cancelled said they do a refund but now won't acknowledge my emails or calls, never again stay well away they are a despicable company
Negative experience: Still waiting on my refund from last years Cheltenham Festival. Wouldnt recommend booking with them at all. Terrible customer service. They don't reply to emails or answer phone calls. I have left other reviews which they have tried to get taken down, Don't touch this company unless your happy to be messed about, then hear absolutely nothing from them. I will now be seeking legal action.
Negative experience: Some other people have said the same thing I'm about to so I would really take this into consideration if you was booking with these, I'm due a refund off them and it's been about 5 months and have recieved nothing despite phone calls and emails and threats of court action. They are evasive and unhelpful. I would seriously consider going elsewhere to book
Fantastic experience: RacingBreaks managed my booking to Ascot this winter, which had to be postponed a couple of times due to Covid. found them really helpful and amenable. Our group stayed in the Berestead hotel and it was better value than booking directly. would recommend.
Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed my trip to Cheltenham on New Years Day. Thanks to the Racingbreaks team for organising my hotel and hospitality seamlessly. They were responsive and very professional. I can't wait for the festival.
Negative experience: The most unethical company to deal with. Avoid like the plague. Took them to court to get my money back after Ascot was cancelled. They finally agreed to pay with costs. They are reprehensible crooks.
Negative experience: Avoid like the plague. Rip off merchants. DO NOT book with these. I have been waiting over 12 months for a refund and they do not respond to calls or emails.
Negative experience: Avoid this company. Booked Roysl Ascot in 2019 for 2020 agreed to carry over to 2021 because of the pandemic but then had to cancel 2021 because of restricted numbers. Trying to get a refund from Racing Breaks is a joke. Promised refund dates ignored. Various excuses given. Numerous emails from me ignored One excuse blamed their suppliers which included the Ascot tickets not being refunded to them by Royal Ascot. When I contacted Royal Ascot directly to query this they totally denied owing Racing Breaks for our tickets and they copied our correspondence to Racing Breaks, hey presto ticket money refunded immediately by Racing Breaks. Finally received the outstanding refund through my card company. Racing Breaks is a totally dishonest company avoid them.
Negative experience: Edit after Refund - Aug 12th 2021 I have just received a full refund from Racing Breaks with an email apologising for the delay for the process. I suppose this was the best outcome after what had happened previously and that furlough put an unmanageable strain on their resources. Happy with the outcome after a stressful few months for all. Original Post - July 19th 2021 I booked a trip with Racing Breaks for the Grand National 2021 in August 2020 explicitly agreeing a refund if the event would not allow spectators. Up until May 2020 Racing Breaks returned my emails, answering any questions and assuring me that they were awaiting refunds from their suppliers and would then pass on the refund to me. Since then, after sending a number of emails I haven't heard anything back about my refund of over £2500, despite lots of social media posts. I have sent the messages on social media, personal email, work email and nothing has worked. Unfortunately, I will have to take this further.
Negative experience: Racing breaks have let me down so much. After spending £1600 over a year ago, then being promised a refund in writing a year ago, unfortunately I am still waiting. They dont answer the phone...unless you leave a voicemail saying you want to make a booking...then they call back asap...and they dont reply to my emails either. Very disappointing company to deal with. Never again. Behaviour. beh behaviour
Negative experience: Despite numerous emails and attempts to try to speak to them on phone, they have not responded to me on a booking made for June 2020.
Negative experience: Booked grand national for last year still waiting for a refund they not answer the phone or emails
Negative experience: Still waiting for a refund from the cancelled racing due to covid, think it’s been 8 months now and they will no longer respond to refunds. Suggest people avoid racing breaks in the future.
Negative experience: We have written confirmation of our full refund due to be processed to us by July 2020 and despite this have been ignored still owed over £3000. Disgraceful
Negative experience: What a very unprofessional company, booked a holiday as a surprise for my husband 60th birthday, in April to Dubai for 6,a total cost of £5500 ,was cancelled 2weeks before we were due to go due to covid, quick enough on taking our money ,but no refund, have made loads of calls, emails not one answer, told them iam now taking legal action ,still no answer ,Gina had her last chance
Negative experience: Avoid at all costs. They refuse to refund grand national tickets (over half a year ago), even tho jockey club has offered full refunds. So Racing breaks has been given the refund for the ticket you bought through them and they refuse to pass that refund on to you. Disgraceful company taking advantage of COVID.
Negative experience: Cancelled event due to covid and ignoring countless of emails asking for a refund. Very unprofessional, will never book through recing breaks again. Avoid at all cost!!!!
Fantastic experience: Yet again great service from Racing Breaks, staff are really helpful and explain all my options. Looking forward to some great trips with them next year
Negative experience: After being informed that my refund was being processed, I received correspondence stating that was no longer the case. Very unprofessional company to deal with and I would recommend others avoid also.
Negative experience: Still awaiting refund for an event that was cancelled over 6 mths ago. Impossible to get to speak with anyone and messages left never replied to. Poor on all levels......
Negative experience: Had tickets for grand national still refusing to give refund. Event did not go ahead
Negative experience: I am very disappointed in the service that I have received from Racing breaks. I have been awaiting my refund for months now and when I contacted Ascot direct they informed me that they have already sent the money for my ticket back to Racing Breaks! THIS IS DISGUSTING
Negative experience: Avoid at all costs this company is hiding behind the covid-19 pandemic. Along with many other customers I'm still waiting for a refund for a cancelled event, they will not take phone calls and totally ignor emails. I was told there would be a 8 week delay getting my refund that was months ago now, its no wonder their scores are very poor
Negative experience: We booked tickets to see Alfie Boe at Newmarket Nights on 14th August and have tried ringing, leaving messages and several emails with no response whatsoever. Newmarket have refunded Racing Breaks but they are not offering me anything!
Negative experience: Aintree races will only let you buy so many tickets for west tip stand, so bought 10 tickets through ‘Racing Breaks’. Obviously the races due to covid was cancelled. They offered me a choice of tickets for next year or a credit note for future events. In the mean time Aintree racecourse returned my money bang on time. I said to Racing Breaks that that I would like my money back and Gina replies yes. Each month I was told I would get my money back until I said I would look to go legal. Then no reply. I contacted my credit card and provided them with all the evidence and the money was taken from them within 7 days. I run my own business and understand how covid has effected businesses but some businesses are just using it for an excuse for bad practices. Racing Breaks do not deserve to have people’s hard earned money passed over to them. Reading the hundreds of bad reviews across the internet shows they have no respect for their customer base.
Negative experience: Think one star is actually generous considering the experience with this company. I booked for the grand national which was cancelled due to Covid and i was told i would receive a refund in May once they received the funds from the Jockey Club. 4 months after cancellation, no refund. Taking advantage of your customers in a global pandemic is a low blow. Apparently you "engage with your customers over the phone with your concierge service" yet I've not had a response for 2 months! shocking.
Negative experience: Spent £810 on Aintree Grand National festival tickets. Event cancelled and given two options of transferring the tickets to 2021 or account credit. I replied showing correspondence form Aintree that all tickets will be refunded by full cash refund and I could only conclude that Racing Breaks received the cash refund for these tickets and are not passing this on to customers. After highlighting such, I was offered a full cash refund and was told I would receive this in May / June. I never received my refund and no response to multiple, multiple follow up emails. I received a generic email today stating tickets can be transferred to 2021 or used for account credit. I will be obtaining legal advise to seek my refund as I have an agreement (in writing) to all monies being returned to me. I would advise everyone STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They have no respect for their customers.
Negative experience: Refund required but ignore calls, messages, emails. You are left not knowing what is going on as the phones are always "too busy" to be answered, no matter what time you try. Due £550 but at present i'm not confident i will get it.
Negative experience: Refusing to give me my money back after this years grand national was cancelled and gave me only two options. To either renew it till next year or receive a two year credit. I'm shocked that I am being told I cannot receive any money back. this is a poorly managed business and wouldn't recommend this website to anyone.
Negative experience: Very poor customer service and does not tell customers the truth. Avoid.
Negative experience: Was really excited to be visiting Longchamp with my 18 year old son. To be told by Racing Breaks that their officials will take care of you from stepping off the Eurostar we would be greeted and assist with transportation to our hotel was a myth. Nobody from Racing Breaks met us. We had to avoid taxi drivers that wanted 95€ and found a genuine taxi with a green light and a metre and charged 25€. Got to hotel and still no RB reps. Hotel was not suitable with a shoe box room, no fridge and just inadequate. The restaurant was shut early, 7pm and had to walk 10mins and with luck found a pub. Re-read our final letter from RB about confirmation of hotel pick up and race course collection and all it said was TBC. This was not good. Had to find other race goers to confirm times. Some knew and some never but manged to organise ourself with no thanks to RB. Longchamp was alright as far as race courses go so no problems there unless we state food facilities and choices were appalling so take a pack lunch. Collection back to hotel was disorganised and some passengers were looking for a coach that had moved. RB staff were supposed to be spread along the road to help us but once again there was no sign of them. May as well of organised the whole trip myself as Racing Breaks did not assist. Any vulnerable customers would of been distraught and helpless or ripped off. I wonder what RB staff would be like in Dubai or Hong Kong when a meet and greet is offered. I'd like to use Racing Breaks again but I won't be relying on their communication skills once out there. The RB telephone customer team leading up to the day we're brilliant but we were let down by the RB staff outhere. They made alot of their customers worry overall yet we paid for a service to get us to A to B to C & back again. It shouldn't be hard!
Fantastic experience: Have just come back from the Dubai World Cup with Racing Breaks and thought it was a real value for money package. Mine included flights, 5* hotel, Saturday race day in The Gallery and a couple of other fun events and a choice of optional extra trips around Dubai. It was all very well organised whilst being really relaxed and I felt very well looked after. I highly recommend them and I shall be booking to go with them to Longchamp
