Fantastic experience: An incredible experience volunteering in Ghana through this programme. Being involved in football development at youth academy and community level was eye-opening and very rewarding. The level of talent, passion for football, and commitment to developing not only players but people was inspiring. The support throughout from staff made the experience impactful and I would recommend to anyone to visit this amazing country.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed a four-week physiotherapy placement in St. Lucia, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. I had the opportunity to work with professional athletes, including pitch side treatment, and in an MSK clinic that provided free care to the local community. The people were incredibly welcoming, and the vibrant culture made every day special. The entire placement ran seamlessly, with many opportunities to work in environments you wouldn’t get the chance to back home. It was a unique and rewarding experience that I’ll always remember.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed a four-week sport physiotherapy placement with the team in Saint Lucia and it was an incredible experience! The placement offered real-world insight working with local athletes across a range of different sports, completing assessments and providing rehabilitation support. We were able to provide physiotherapy for sports events across the island including the Saint Lucia t10 blast and national athletics competitions. We had plenty of time to explore the island during our days off, enjoying days out at different excursions across the island. The placement itself was very well-organised, and the team were excellent in their communication and support throughout. I had a fantastic time and highly recommend to any physio students interested in working within sport.

Fantastic experience: I completed a 4 week physiotherapy placement with sporting opportunities in saint lucia. the experience was amazing and i managed to create so many memories alongside getting valuable sports experience working with the islands athletes, this was all supported by a very knowledgeable and kind lead physio. Fantastic experience: Amazing team that organises the St Lucia Physiotherapy project! From start to finish the team are always there for any questions. Placement- lots of opportunities available for sports physio across the island and Rebecca would try to involve everyone in sports they like/ participate in. Each day brings new challenges and sports to dive into and practice MSK assessments in a sporting environment Free time- as participants of the projects we would organise the excursions on a weekend, then contact Joël for transport and off we went! All activities are at ‘locals’ prices and there is lots to choose from! Overall amazing month away!

Fantastic experience: I recently completed a physiotherapy placement at the world-class Côte d’Or National Sports Complex in Mauritius, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. I had the incredible opportunity to work with elite Mauritian athletes and sports professionals from around the world, gaining hands-on experience in a high-performance environment that truly broadened my clinical and cultural understanding. I’m especially grateful to Sporting Opportunities for their outstanding support in planning and organising the logistics of my trip. While they weren’t directly involved in the placement itself, their help with travel arrangements, pre-departure information, and overall coordination made everything smooth and stress-free. Knowing that I had their support throughout the preparation process gave me peace of mind and allowed me to focus fully on making the most of my time in Mauritius. The placement at Côte d’Or was dynamic and inspiring. I was able to apply my physiotherapy skills in a real-world sports setting, collaborate with professionals from diverse backgrounds, and learn new techniques in a truly international atmosphere. It was both a professional and personal highlight. If you're looking for a way to combine travel with career development, I highly recommend Sporting Opportunities for their excellent planning services, and I can’t recommend the Côte d’Or experience enough for anyone interested in sports physiotherapy.

Fantastic experience: This summer I completed my elective physiotherapy placement in St Lucia through sporting opportunities. I spent 4 weeks gaining experience in a variety of settings; sporting events/training, schools, and clinic based work. My educator Rebecca was amazing, so supportive, friendly and encouraging. This placement allowed me to develop as a professional in areas that I have not yet covered at university whilst also having the experience of a lifetime.

Fantastic experience: Spent 4 weeks in Saint Lucia and had the most amazing experience. Sporting Opportunities were very helpful and provided me with an unforgettable time studying Physiotherapy as I got to work with athletes across the island learning valuable skills. Fantastic experience: Did the Argentina Rugby tour as an 18 year old and could not recommend more. Buenos Aires whilst being a little expensive was one of the most exciting and fun cities to be in and UTS could not have organised a better programme for meeting people and making mates. For myself within the first week there were 12 of us booking and going to Rio de Janeiro for carnival just showcasing how close you can get with people there.

Fantastic experience: I coached basketball in Ghana and it was an incredible experience! The booking process was straight forward, accommodation was great, and the people were amazing. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My son went with Sporting Opportunities to South Africa. He was linked up with a charity called United Through Sport. The trip was a great experience and the staff in Port Elizabeth were excellent. He was involved in rugby coaching at local schools and they had a range of trips/ experiences organised at the weekends. Unfortunately he was injured playing rugby for a local club which required him hospital care and follow-up treatment. The team couldn't have been better at supporting him, keeping us up to date and solving a whole range of challenges. Would definitely recommend James and the team at Sporting Opportunities.

Fantastic experience: I went to Accra, Ghana to improve my boxing skills and to coach the kids and juvenile. It was a beatiful experience. I learned and trained a lot, i had a lot of fun with the kids and the other coaches and I'm sure they learned from me as well. Win - Win. It was a very well organized trip, everyone cared about me from the beginning in europe with Sporting Opportunities and as well the in country team in Accra was very helpful and organized a lot for us volunteers. Fantastic experience: I’ve volunteered with this company 3 times now and I will surely return with them. I’ve been to South Africa, Saint Lucia and now Thailand with them for such amazing experiences of volunteering work. I’ve really enjoyed my time in every one of these places and the most recent one Thailand was absolutely unbelievable, the accommodation was genuinely the best I’ve ever experienced in voluntary work, there were powerful hot showers in every room, beautiful gardens and trees around, amazing views of sunrise and sunsets every day and a refreshing and big swimming pool to chill around after work every day as well a great communal areas. The location was also great, walking distance from the closest 7-eleven which was very pleasant and large with a wide variety of snacks and hot meals with a few open air restaurants and bars to unwind at which felt like a pleasant reward for the days work, also very cheap. The volunteering itself was very well coordinated with transportation and careful planning. At 1pm every day we had meetings to discuss the next day’s lesson planning. The children were enthusiastic and frankly a joy to work with and I definitely would return again in the future. I could say so much more about how pleasant this experience was however I won’t spoil the adventures that you would have along the way. Thank you to all the coordinators, kitchen staff and cleaning staff for a wonderful experience these past 4 weeks, I feel I could have definitely stayed longer however I have to get back to work in the UK.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience in Ghana and it is something I will never forget. The in country team were amazing and did their upmost to look after us and assist us with anything we needed. I was out there for a physiotherapy placement and although there were slight issues with the organization of the placement at the beginning these were quickly fixed and we had the opportunity to learn and practice how physiotherapy works in Ghana which has helped further develop my knowledge and skill set. I would like to extend my thanks to our coordinators Eben and Gideon enabled us to have a great experience.

Fantastic experience: I went to St Lucia to coach girls and women to play netball. The experience was very rewarding; it was well organised, from pre-arrival advice through to the coordinators in market, and everyone was very caring and obviously passionate about the program and the local people we were working with. Support on the ground was exceptional and I always felt safe and supported. I was given a lot of freedom to design my own drills and I had a lot of fun with the kids. I'm a bit older than the usual volunteers (who were mostly university age) but I still felt welcomed and had fun in the free time activities. The beaches in St Lucia are a dream!

Fantastic experience: I had a great time! I went to Ghana for sports psychology. I was safe, taken care of, the work was very rewarding, and Sporting Opportunities had a great social and professional network in the country that really helped me get acclimated and find opportunities that I would not have found if I went to Ghana by myself. Fantastic experience: My 19 year old son spent 6 weeks in Accra where he coached basketball through this program. My son made so many wonderful connections with other volunteers, with the players he coached and with kids he met through pick-up games. My son also had the opportunity to teach photography to young children. He loved the entire experience and cannot wait to return

Fantastic experience: We went through sporting opportunities to book our Youth Group's overseas outreach to Ghana. I couldn't recommend this trip and company more! James B was a life saver with helping us book, advising us on what is needed and keeping in touch prior to us getting there. He was efficient in all his work and i can honestly say there wasn't a time where we felt unsupported. The organisation he worked with to make the trip happen were also incredible, James D at RSA and his team made the trip everything we could have imagined at more. As soon as we got back we were already thinking about how we can get back to Ghana.

The physio was great, getting to know different locals and experiencing practicing physio in a different environment to the NHS. The company ensured our stay run smoothly and offered weekly excursions to different things such as kayaking, zip lining and climbing the biggest mountain on the Island.

Fantastic experience: Went to St Lucia late June/July for a 5 week placement in physiotherapy. It was an amazing experience seeing a different side of physio and coming back to the uk I have so many new skills to now adapt my treatment. Would recommend for your physiotherapy elective!

Positive experience: I went to St Lucia for 5 weeks as my 2nd year physiotherapy placement and I had an incredible time. I got to spend a lot of time on the beautiful local beach as well as going on exciting excursions every Friday. The physio consisted of both clinic work and sports pitch side work which allowed me to build some relationships with the friendly locals. Overall had a brilliant time !

Positive experience: Really fun and interesting trip doing physio volunteering with sporting opportunities in St Lucia. Recommend to anyone who wants to try something new and get some good physio practice pitch side and in clinic! I went for 5 weeks and was able to go on many excursions as well as the physio.

Fantastic experience: I was in Ghana on the football programming training the Rising Stars of Africa academy. It was a great experience, and I really liked the flexibility of both coaching and travelling around Ghana with the other volunteers. The coordinator in Ghana, Eben, was amazing. He was helping us a lot finding places to go and in general helping us around the country. The boys at the academy are lovely! And both James Dzandza and James Burton are really nice guys helping us a lot

Fantastic experience: I went for the Muay Thai program in Huahin, Thailand for four weeks and it was an unforgettable experience! The training was vigorous and the coaches were skilled at teaching proper technique. I truly do wish I stayed longer. I got to experience Thai culture and meet incredible people, as well as get an authentic local learning of Muay Thai. 10/10!

Fantastic experience: I went to St Lucia- Swim Volunteer Program Feb 23' I think the big takeaway from the experience is the intent of the program and really the grass roots of it all. The coordinator is so well connected and the accommodations are adequate but having the availability of walking to the Sea is awesome. It is truly "living local" so much a better experience than being a tourist. Local excursions and private time was wonderful. So many possibilities. I am 60 and from the US. All the others were college age and European. No matter - excellent - Mix was great.

Positive experience: I spent two weeks in Ghana with Sporting Opportunities as a football coach and referee as well as visiting an orphanage. I had a great experience of the country and some brilliant, helpful people. I was also able to help some of the people I met.

Positive experience: I did two months of sports volunteering in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the experience has definitely been a blast. It is a good starting point for international travel if you don’t feel comfortable just diving right into the mobile backpacker style of travel. It definitely helped me to build my confidence for a few weeks with the support the program provides then go off on my own.

Fantastic experience: I went to St.Lucia to coach rugby for 4 weeks and I wish I would have done longer. It was genuinely the most amazing experience. I was the only American on the trip, which scared me at first, but everyone couldn't have been nicer and I have made friends that I will know all over the world because of this experience. Would recommend to anyone who wants to go a little outside their comfort zone here in America and see the world from a whole new perspective.

Fantastic experience: I spent 3 weeks in Ghana volunteering within local football clubs, this experience was really beneficial to my confidence as a coach and also enlightened me about the way of life in west Africa. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I spent 8 weeks in Saint Lucia for the last trip of my gap year before university, it was such an incredible experience coaching rugby (and various other sports) to the underprivileged kids there, seeing them improve their skills week on week. As a rugby coach I was also allowed the opportunity to assist the coaching and play with the national Saint Lucia rugby team, playing in a couple rugby 7s tournaments it was such a great experience!! Everyone was so welcoming when I arrived, I instantly felt like I was part of the family, and the UTS team really played their part in helping to organise various excursions every weekend which really added just a bonus to an already amazing trip. Would 100% recommend to a friend.

Fantastic experience: I went to Ghana with some university peers and I had the trip of a lifetime. I met some incredible children and coaches whilst I was out there and the organisers were amazing, super friendly, always on hand to help or around to have a laugh. I was there for 3 weeks and those few weeks were jam packed! We did coaching twice a day which allowed for us to squeeze in some more trips. We explored the Cape Coast and Cape 3 Points just to name a few destinations where we were lucky enough to do a variety of activities ranging from a canopy walk through the jungle to surfing! I had an amazing time in Ghana and would really encourage anybody who wants a sporty adventure to go!

Fantastic experience: St Lucia has been a brilliant experience both through coaching & playing cricket and away from the pitch. I can say for myself and on behalf of Hull Sport team that we were very well looked after at the volunteer house. It felt more like a holiday to me than a working trip. Thank you for trying to organise and fit in as much work experience as possible in the 3 weeks and constantly checking in to make sure we were having the best time. That's greatly appreciated. Additional thank you to the boys, Eben and Sam (and the others), for being on hand 24/7 at the volunteer house and making sure we got what we wanted and more out of our stay in Ghana. They organised the best trips away, kept us safe and were just a great company whenever any of us needed it. Fantastic experience: St Lucia was not only a great chance to coach sport, but fantastic fun off the sports field. I would recommend staying for a longer period of time (8weeks +) as you can both see improvement in those you are coaching- in my case this was rugby; whilst fully experiencing the island with everything from boat parties to mountain climbing. I could not recommend the St Lucia trip more and I look forward to seeing friends I have made back in the UK.

Positive experience: Travelled to Ghana for 4 weeks, and had an amazing time out there. Managed to do some really rewarding work out there, and met some incredible people out there. Really felt looked after and received a good amount of help in organising the trip and arranging things like Visas and flights. Thoroughly recommended.
