Fantastic experience: My experience with Al-Makkawi and Brother Arif for Umrah with my family in December 2025 was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we booked to arrival, the trip was flawlessly organised, with every detail carefully planned, making the entire journey smooth and stress-free. Brother Arif and his team were with us throughout the journey from departure to arrival back in the UK. The group leaders, Brother Arif and his Family/team, provided continuous support throughout the trip. We received timely updates for the trip, hotels, transfers, and ziyarah etc. A dedicated WhatsApp group facilitated smooth communication with both the group leaders and members. Emergency contacts were provided. The hotel details in the package were accurate and conveniently located near the harem. Brother Arif's commitment to both the logistical and spiritual aspects of the trip truly stood out. Not only were the travel arrangements handled seamlessly, but the deep Islamic knowledge shared throughout the journey also enriched the experience. Me and my family felt a real connect which made this Umrah truly memorable for both me and my family. A special thank you to the team for making sure every aspect of the trip was taken care of (visa, flights, transfers, luggage, coach, hotel, and guided tours), allowing us to focus on the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage. 5 Stars all round and truly recommended. Fantastic experience: An Outstanding and Deeply Spiritual Umrah Experience. Our Umrah trip organized by Brother Aref was exceptional from beginning to end. It was a beautifully planned journey that combined spiritual growth, historical learning, and a warm sense of community. We felt a powerful connection to the global Muslim Ummah—over two billion strong—as we witnessed Muslims from every background united in worship in the holiest places on earth. Visiting Makkah and Madinah left a lasting impact on us, especially as we reflected on the sacrifices of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions in spreading the message of Islam. The itinerary was rich and meaningful. We visited key historical sites, learned about the path of Hajj, prayed at the Prophet’s Mosque, and visited the graves of Ahl al‑Bayt, the companions, and the martyrs. A special highlight was praying at Quba Mosque, knowing the great reward associated with it. Brother Aref’s organization was outstanding. He managed a group of families and children with patience, care, and attention to detail. His efforts ensured that everyone felt comfortable, supported, and spiritually uplifted throughout the journey. We also extend our gratitude to the Makkawi family in Makkah for their warm hospitality and generosity, which truly reflected the noble character of the people of the Haram. Despite a few personal requests regarding our bespoke trip to Dr Arif, he went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. He was so attentive and considerate to our requests and this made our Umrah trip even more enjoyable. From the moment we booked to the moment we departed, we were looked after by Dr Arifs team. The Hotels were exquisite in both Makkah & Madina and only a few steps away from the Kaba and Masjid Al-Nabawi and Ziyarath was so informative. From start to finish, everything was well-organized, and we were in safe hands under the guidance of Brother Arif. His calm and knowledgeable approach made a significant difference, as he provided invaluable insights into Makkah and Madinah, enriching our pilgrimage. Like any journey, there were some logistical challenges, particularly with hotel locations due to ongoing construction around the Haram. However, Brother Arif handled these issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to our experience. One key takeaway from this trip is the importance of flexibility—there will always be some hurdles, but ultimately, we must trust that Allah swt has invited us to His house and will ensure a successful pilgrimage, inshaAllah. We often hear unpleasant stories about unreliable tour operators, but I am pleased to say that our experience with Al Makklawi was nothing like that. Everything was well-planned, including our ziyarats, which were pre-booked with comfortable transport. The group size was also very manageable, allowing for a more personal and stress-free journey. While we did arrange our own visit to Jabal Al Noor and Cave Hira, our group had already been taken to see it from a distance the day before. This level of organization and thoughtfulness made the entire trip seamless and fulfilling. I highly recommend Al Makkawi for anyone considering Umrah. Fantastic experience: I walked into this place today to drop off a DHL package after attempting to drop off the package at 3 other locations earlier. Due to a technical reason, I was unable to send it using my existing DHL label. The lady at the office was the most helpful and kindest person I have met in 2023. I left that store with gratitude but without my package! The only way I can think of thanking her enough is by writing this review. I can only assume their travel/holiday booking service is as dilligent and genuine.

Fantastic experience: I traveled to do Umrah with Al- Makkawi Travels and received excellent customer service. Step by step guidance was provided both before and during the trip. Going for the first time I wished to travel with an organisation that would help with the process. Al- Makkawi travels was recommended by people who had been using their service for 20 years. Now I see why they go back with them again and again. I will be using them again now as well inshallah soon. The whole process of Umrah has been lovely, the group leader Arif was there to answer all questions before travelling, he was there when we arrived at the airport, there with us while we did our Umrah, guiding us all the way. The days in Makkah and Madinah for the Ziyarats and all the coach journeys he was continually educating us on both Islamic and geographical history. The kindness and patience he showed with my elderly parents who are wheelchair users was heart warming. He has received so many duas from us. His focus on prayers and guiding with timings etc to allow us to read Jummah etc in both Makkah and Madina was invaluable. He was always on call, coming often to check if everyone was ok, and if we needed any support. Accommodation provided was excellent, close in Makkkah and right opposite in Madina, we could not have asked for more. I will be using them again, I will be recommending them to my friends and family and recommend that if you want a trouble free, peaceful Umrah Al- Makkawi travels is the one. Fahmida

Fantastic experience: The best decision we made! Allhamdulliah we preformed our first umrah with Al Makawi travel. From the get go, all the staff were very friendly and helpful whilst we were booking. Al Makawi then arranged a pre umrah seminar in which they explained each step in detail and allowed us to ask any questions. This was fantastic as it gave us all a better understanding on how to perform umrah correctly. Whilst preforming our umrah, Br Arif ensured that all duas needed were read to us. Fantastic experience: Alhamdu-Lillah, performed Hajj in the past with Al-Makkawi and now Umrah alongside my family (small children/ elderly mother) with the help of Allah (swt) brother Arif has been extremely helpful making whole of our journey from start to finish very comfortable indeed, he is not only good tour guide but Alhamdu-Lillah a great person with always a smile on his face and he has very polite team here and in Saudi, He is fluent in Arabic language so no language barrier whilst you there, helps you to perform the rituals of Umrah according to Quran and Sunnah, Insha-Allah I will certainly travel with them again...

Fantastic experience: Just got back from Hajj which was organised by AlMakkawi Travel. From the initial contact with Sister Shazia to Dr Arif helping with my passport difficulties to Br.Hashim being our guide, first class service! There is a very well organised seminar led by imams and doctors which break the whole journey down. We were also provided with complimentary bags and ihram but ample support prior to travel. Br.Hasim met us at the airport and was by our side at every point in our journey, assisting, motivating and just being there for us when we needed him. The sisters were supported by Sister Zainab who was also very helpful. I was told by several people how difficult the journey is and how the travel companies just leave you out there to fend for yourself, but this was the exact opposite. A real family feel from the go until the last suitcase is picked up from the airport. A massive thank you to the staff here and in Saudi for all your support. You made our Hajj a truly memorable experience. May Allah bless the efforts of all the staff involved.

Brother Arif was wonderful and very accommodating, he made sure all the pilgrims were well looked after and informed us all of the activities that were to take place during our Hajj. Fantastic experience: Every Haji will have different expectations from Hajj and indeed travel agents. Reflecting back, on our experience, i could comfortably say that AlMakkawi tried to look after us as much as possible and on a level, where we feel (my husband included) quite comfortable with our choice of travel agent. Would we go again with them? Yes.

Alhamdulilah they are very organised, warm and caring. The environment they provide is amazing I had previously gone to hajj twice with other providers but it did not feel the same as this. At AlMakkawi it feels like you are part of a family. The guides are all well versed and know what they are doing with plenty of experience under their belts. Fantastic experience: I have just returned from Hajj with Al Makkawi (economy package) and alhamdulillah it was a brilliant experience. I'll give a brief low down on the journey: - they undersold, over delivered - Br Arif (owner of the company) was born and raised in Makkah so knows the language and city well. He has many family members who get involved during hajj to ensure it is a smooth experience - Economy package comes with 2 meals per day on the non-hajj days, however they still provided 3 meals every day - I stayed in the Aziziya apartment which is only a 35-45 mins walk from the Haram or a 7-10 minute drive - the apartments are spacious and it's only 3-4 people per bathroom which is a very manageable number. family rooms have their own bathrooms. - the guides and well experienced who know what they're doing and are always available to speak to for advice - we had a scholar (Maulana Hadi) with us on the days of Hajj, delivering reminders after every prayer and he was available for any queries - they also bought in scholars prior to Hajj to give us a motivational boost and to go through what to do on Hajj - Arif's brother attends the abattoir to ensure all qurbanis are actually undertaken - they take you in different groups to undertake your hajj/ummrah, or they allow you to do your own thing - the days of hajj were easy - sofa beds in mina and air conditioned tents; air conditioned tents in arafat with a mat and cushions; you take this mat with you to muzdalifa and so making the night that little easier

Fantastic experience: I couldn't have asked for a better service, Al-Makkawi was exceptional in providing me and my family with transport and more when we went Saudi to carry out Umrah. The review saying that Educational Hajj & Umrah and this are the same, it's complete and absolute nonsense. I am giving this company 5 stars simply because they gave everything they promised and so much more. Not only did we get from A to B smoothly and on time whenever we travelled, but the staff who were travelling with us ensured we were at all times comfortable and doing well. They also gave us very useful advice and explained the rituals of Umrah very well, as well as giving additional Islamic facts and details about the history of Islam, making the whole experience even more insightful. Allah is my witness when I say they did a brilliant job in providing their services for me and my family, we were more than content. They even upgraded our flight for free, for the amount we paid, it was more than worth it. The criticisms being made by the other review are about the services provided by the Hajj ministry, not Al-Makkawi, it was out of their hands. The staff were most definitely friendly and took great care of us. I highly recommend Al-Makkawi to all you brothers and sisters for the services they provide as promised and more for a great value.

Negative experience: Salaam Travelled with Al Makkawi this year 2017 for hajj. Went on the £6k platinum package. To keep it short and sweet, please don't go with them, they are compulsive liars. We got a economy package service. Also Al Makkawi and Educational Hajj and Umrah are one company. Later found out they had been convicted in crown court for deception and fined 40k, for taking Platinum money and providing economy service. So please as a brother I ask you to go else where, you will get a better package for less. You see the bottom 2 reviews giving them 5* are family members of Al Makkawi, so don't be fooled.
