Camp Canada is the opportunity for you to spend 8-10 weeks living and working in a summer camp surrounded by amazing Canadian landscapes.
You will be responsible for campers, either by acting as a role model and ensuring the wellbeing of your campers as a Camp Counsellor, or by teaching different groups of campers your chosen skill as an Activity Specialist.
After camp there is a chance to travel for up to 6 months and explore the vast mountain ranges of Canada. You could take a trip to Niagara Falls, or even dive into one of Canada's metropolitan cities and discover some truly unbeatable diners, bars, and restaurants.

Camp Canada: Reviews
Negative experience: Really rude, dismissive tone over the phone, I’ve received a call to discuss my application and the whole time they started off with how demanding, the work is and there is too much work in there as though they were trying to discourage me to not participate in the camp and as though they know me personally somehow and how I wouldn’t be able to do it or it’s not for me, instead of supporting people during their application process, and trying to make more people to attend they’re discouraging them from doing that. During the whole phone call they were like how my experiences are not enough and when I told them about my experience they were like is that it, and they recommended me another camp which would be ether fit and they would send a link they didn’t even follow through that and didn’t even send it when I logged in to my account to withdraw my application it was immediately withdrawn really rude and unprofessional
Fantastic experience: Extremely good I can recommend it to anyone especially students
Fantastic experience: Been so supportive in my application has always helped when I needed it and very excited to get out there
Negative experience: Really let down with the whole application process. Super long to apply for and lots of effort needed. I was in the middle of the process of moving house and they were so un—understanding and rude to me on the phone. I booked a call with them so I could gain more informative information as in the contract there’s hidden fees and I wanted to ask about the affordability as it looked like a really good opportunity but I wanted to be realistic. They were so unsupportive completely dismissed my question and carried on pushing me to answer their script and I only got the first question before things went wrong. When they asked for my availability I gave a large range of when I would be available for with an earlier start date and a later start date and I wanted someone to give me an informative, reassuring talk so I could trust the whole process and the camp program. As soon as I mentioned the later start date of when I was available, they completely disregarded the earlier start date range I’d given them, completely dismissed me and rudely talked over me, over and over again saying how I wasn’t “eligible”. Massive miscommunication, very rude tone on the phone, they weren’t patient with me at all and were quick to end the call. I gave in on them and thought I don’t want to be a part of this anyway with people who are gonna act like this over the phone, they’re going to ruin my whole summer if I ever had to speak to them when I’m in Canada and stuck there. So unhelpful and uncaring. I was highly disappointed and appalled by the lack of care to maintain good relations. Not worth the time or money would rather go to Canada on my own accord. What a waste of a whole long application process! I am none the wiser with the list of questions I had prepared for the interview to ask about the program and the roles and camps and I didn’t even get an opportunity to talk about it or ask it as I kept getting cut off.
Fantastic experience: I heard about Camp Canada through a friend who also had a great experience with them. They made the whole process super easy, starting with creating your profile. I really liked how they made it super clear and easy to create the profile that camps would look at and broke it down to a step by step process which helped it not feel overwhelming. As a first time traveler I was super nervous but camp Canada reached out multiple times to check in and their staff were really lovely in just reassuring me, as well as in helping in practical matters such as my application and booking flights. I’ve had such an amazing summer and would recommend camp Canada to anyone doing camp for the first time because they make it so much easier getting placed and getting the right documents.
Positive experience: I had a great time at my summer camp and would definitely recommend going. Camp Canada had an easy application process and supported me with all the admin tasks and registrations before camp. I had to do a lifeguarding course and a Camp Canada representative picked us up from the airport. However I found out that first year international staff who apply through camp Canada have a significantly lower salary than those who apply directly to the camps.
Fantastic experience: Found Camp Canada when searching online for camps to work at for summer. Applying was quick and straightforward and got placed in a brilliant camp. Camp Canada were helpful when I had any issues over in Canada which made it stress free. Would highly recommend. Had such a fun time and made so many friends for life!
Fantastic experience: Camp Canada helped me find a great camp placement and guided me through the process of getting a work permit.
Positive experience: Really good at making it an easy process to follow and they're very quick and helpful when responding to emails and questions you may have. They're supportive throughout the whole experience even while you're at camp.
Fantastic experience: Camp canada was absolutely amazing! They matched me with a wonderful camp, gave me loads of support with documentation and made sure I had a safe and fun time at camp.
Fantastic experience: Camp Canada is a great agency to go through for an amazing Summer Camp Experience. They help you through every step to ensure you find the best camp for you. If you have any questions or need extra support, they are there to assist however best. I'd definitely recommend signing up as going to canada for the summer was one my best experiences, and I hope to go back in future years! Its also great that you dont have to pay any fees to camp canada, however you do need to pay for all your travel and accommodation up until and after your camp placement!
Fantastic experience: The admin team has been helpful and proactive from the start, ensuring all the necessary documents are accounted for, making the while application process super smooth! I am very happy with the camp that I got paired with. Thank you for a great summer!
Positive experience: I heard about Camp Canada from a close friend who had a really good experience, for me, before camp they were pretty supportive, they really helped me with all the Paperwork and the work placements, I had a few problems with the camp and the flights and it took a while before camp Canada stepped in. We had a contact person in Camp Canada and after we arrived to camp he didn't talk to me *at all*, not a word, after a month in camp we had someone coming in which was nice but she didn't really help. Overall they were fine, but I'm not so sure if I'd want to work with them again
Thank you for your feedback! We always do you best to support and assist participants when they arrive in Canada, as well as during their time at camp. We have our emergency phone line as well as email inboxes where any problems participants have, they can reach out immediately to our team for help. Having come through our Jewish Program partner, the process was slightly different which seems to have impacted your experience so we will take on your feedback for this season - thank you for sharing!
Fantastic experience: After hearing about this opportunity from my cousin, I did a little research and decided to commit. This was seriously the coolest thing I have ever done in my life and I am extremely grateful. The process is simple and everyone at camp Canada is super helpful. If you're looking for the adventure of a life time, this is it!
Fantastic experience: Very good customer service and an amazing range of camps!
Fantastic experience: Camp Canada will help all of the placements, and facilitate getting you a job at a camp you can trust. Now that they don’t charge a fee there isn’t a down side to using them.
Fantastic experience: One of the most amazing experiences ever I recommend to anyone. You learn such important skills
Positive experience: They really help you in your summer camp experience They guide you
Positive experience: Camp Canada is a great place to start your Canadian adventure! I was so happy with the camp I got connected with and I got to enjoy so much about my summer. It even inspired me to stay in Canada longer! They gave great info on what to expect throughout the process, and the camp that reached out to me was also super engaging. I felt supported throughout the process.
Negative experience: For 560 euros, the service they provide is really lacking. My biggest issue with Camp Canada is the advice they gave me for extending my status as a visitor in Canada; my work permit said I had to leave Canada by 23rd of August, but I needed to stay until the 25th as this was when my flight home was. I emailed them the same day I got my permit (18th of June) and asked how to go about extending my time in Canada, they just said they'd be sending out an email in July about how to do this. So I waited until then, got the email, then started trying to apply. It took a lot of hours over a couple days to finish the whole process, mostly because Camp Canada were unable to help with my questions. Anytime I asked them some specific question about the application, they'd just send me a link to an article in their knowledge base that didn't answer my question or they'd say they aren't sure. I really wasn't impressed by those responses, surely they've had a lot of customers with my situation over the years, I don't know how none of them were able to help me with it. When I did eventually finish it up, I was really stressed that it wouldn't even arrive, since the IRCC recommends allowing 2 months for the processing time and I only had 1 month since they only sent out the email in July. It eventually arrived on the very last day of camp, they really cut it fine by sending that email out so late. I feel like they should've been a bit more helpful about sorting out a phone plan for Canada as well. They didn't really seem to know much about buying Canadian SIM cards, so I got a lot of nasty surprises that were difficult to deal with when I learned about the Canadian mobile network prices and payment methods first-hand while at camp. They should get past participants to write advice on how they dealt with this for future participants, I feel like something as important as staying connected to your friends and family shouldn't be as overlooked as it is. Another issue that I feel needs to be mentioned is that the camp I was matched to did not suit the camp types on my application. I specifically remember not picking single gendered or rustic camps on my application, but the camp I was hired by was an all boys rustic camp, and I didn't even know it was a rustic camp until I got to Canada and found out I wasn't allowed to take showers. I feel like it was a big oversight to not mention this to me or other participants before going over, I decided to stay but it was a deal breaker for other employees at the camp who also did not know about the shower situation before arriving. On the other hand, they did a good job sorting out the documentation for my work permit before I went over, and the discounts they had for the hostels in Toronto were really good. Excluding the cost of insurance (~200 euro) from their price, paying 360 euro for sorting out some work permit documents, getting you a job that doesn't match your preferences and some discounts on hostels you might not use is not a great deal in my opinion. I had to figure out a lot of important and difficult stuff by myself while I was in Canada, which I really didn't have the time or mobile data allowance for doing. Camp Canada really should be able to support their participants better in the areas I mentioned above, it was really stressful to deal with alone, particularly trying to stay in Canada for longer after finishing work and trying to get a Canadian phone plan to work at camp.
Hey Sarah! Thank you for leaving a review, most importantly we are glad you enjoyed camp to complete your summer!
We are sorry to hear you found somethings more challenging during your summer. As a temporary resident in Canada, you’re allowed to apply to extend your stay before your current status expires, as you did! If you submit your complete application online before your current status expires, your authorized stay in Canada is extended and you are considered to have legal status as a temporary resident in Canada while your application is being processed, as our Knowledge Article explained, so even though the process may take time, you would have been okay to stay those extra couple of day as you applied before! We always hope to answer any questions people have about this too.
In terms of phone contracts, this is something that we don’t include because there are many options for people to choose from, including options from your home provider as well as e-sims. But we can certainly look into asking alumni to share any tips and tricks on this for future!
We aim to place people based on the preferences; however we also encourage all participants to read the camps website, look on their social media and do research ahead of interviews to find out more about them, ie. Rustic, single gender. This way you can ask the camp directors during this call for more information about what life is like at each type of camp. If a participant really feels a camp is not suited to them, we are always happy to talk more about it or look into other camps.
The program cost also includes more highlights, as detailed on our website, which we believe offer great benefits to anyone looking to work in Canada for a summer, whether that be through a personally paid IEC or work permit with Camp Canada.
Negative experience: They took my money during covid - over £150 and didn’t get any of it back! Refused to take my calls.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry you had this experience of not being able to get in touch with us. Our emails and phone lines are open so if you ever wanted to follow up, we'd be happy to chat!
Negative experience: Avoid!!!!! They are scammers!!! My son was asked to pay £50 for an interview which he did, they cancelled the interview without him knowing, he waited 2 hrs!! When he enquired what had happened he was told that the dates he had chosen didn’t suit and that he would get a refund… 5 months later he is still waiting, we have tried phoning, no answer, we have sent emails with no response, we had even threatened legal action which finally prompted a call to say they didn’t like our tone!!!! but they would make a refund straight away…. that was at least 3-4 months ago!! Still nothing to date … they are con artists!!!, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED…. STAY WELL CLEAR!!!!!
Thank you for your feedback. The deposit and eligibility dates are cleared stated on our website for each season and your son received texts and emails from us after signing up, including before his interview regarding his ineligible dates for the summer and his interview would be cancelled to ensure we would be eligible for a refund. We followed up with this afterwards with both your son and yourself to clear up any confusion. We provided the options for the deposit, offering both a refund and moving it over to a future season. We had no further response and we can only action requests from the participant as it is an individual application. We are always happy to discuss options with participants.

Fantastic experience: This organisation is amazing. They help you in every way with your application and everything that comes next. The best thing you can do when you are planning to go to Canadian summercamp is to do it with them ☺️
Fantastic experience: amaze xxx
Fantastic experience: So far Camp Canada has been extremely helpful and supportive in my process of getting placed and ready for camp. They check up on you and give reminders and advice for which parts of your application you need to finish, and lay out your next steps in a very clear way that gave me a great peace of mind. I got a placement pretty quickly and I would recommend Camp Canada if you can afford the initial fees (you’ll make your money back at camp). I can’t wait to go to Canada!
Negative experience: I applied to Camp Canada in early 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the application process the staff were very helpful and assured me that as per their policies I would receive a full refund if not placed in a camp for the summer due to COVID-19. When it was announced that the camps were cancelled they switched off their phone lines so you couldn’t get in contact with them and were terrible to deal with. When you applied for a refund they made you sign to say this replaced any previous contract that said you would receive a full refund. I didn’t pay the final payment as I knew the camps couldn’t go ahead in the situation so lost £100 but know many people have lost multiple £100s. I would not recommend going anywhere near this company. I can only imagine if you got to Canada and they switched off their phones and stopped all communication! Terrible
Negative experience: claim to be open to those with disabilities yet decline them placements due to it, despite it not being a problem
Negative experience: Lost £100 in covid refund. Apparently I had to pay for my interview and for them to do admin. I appealed multiple times and was very rudely told I wouldn't be getting this back. I know others who lost about £400. Untrustworthy.
Negative experience: Was only given a refund of 130 euro after paying 500 for placement after cancellation of camp due to covid 19. I was told that enough was done for me and that 130 euro was sufficient. Apparently Skype calls and looking at emails costs 370 euro. Who knew?
Fantastic experience: I love camp Canada , they make the process so much easier !! They allowed me to have the best summers for the last 3 years !!! Everyone who works for camp Canada is so friendly, and always willing to help !!
Fantastic experience: I applied for the programme and was thankfully accepted! Sounds cliche but was really a life changing experience. Camp Canada help you get a visa and they provide you with all the details you need when you arrive in the country. I was able to get a bank account and a Social Insurance Number and a dedicated number to call if anything went wrong whilst at camp. It was a great experience and I was able to meet a number of amazing friends. I have just been hired by the camp I went to to go back for another summer which I am already excited for! I also now work for Camp Canada as an interviewer for potential participants. A great company and would recommend to anyone.
Fantastic experience: The best summer I’ve ever experienced! I went to Camp Arowhon in Algonquin Provincial Park and had the most amazing summer, Camp Canada & NYQuest helped and supported through the whole application and throughout the whole summer too! Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting incredible experiences and the summer of a lifetime
Fantastic experience: Best summer ever! The staff were so supportive through the whole process and answered all the questions I had (no matter how small). I can’t wait to return again next year :)
Fantastic experience: From start to end the guys at Camp Canada were amazing! They helped me at every step of the way and I had an absolutely epic summer. I can’t recommend doing this enough, officially the best way to go to summer camp in Canada!
Fantastic experience: Everyone should go and do Camp Canada! I've just got back from the best experience of my life. The team who helped me through the whole application process we're incredible and I was put at ease having the orientation in Canda when I landed. Cannot recommend enough.
Fantastic experience: Friendly team helped me through the process. The fact that you have support 24/7 once arriving in Canada took away any nerves of travelling to a new country alone. Thanks to the Camp Canada team for giving me this opportunity.
