Negative experience: I had an awful experience with Away Holiday. The agent I spoke to was extremely rude from the moment he picked up the phone. He wasn’t speaking clearly, kept blaming the “distorted line” even though my end was perfectly fine, and his tone only got worse when he asked for my budget. Instead of helping me plan a holiday for me and my son, he spoke down to me and then hung up on me mid‑conversation. I’ve never dealt with a travel company that treats potential customers with such disrespect. If this is how they behave before you even book, I can’t imagine what the service would be like afterwards. I strongly recommend avoiding this company altogether.

Negative experience: DON'T BOOK WITH AWAY HOLIDAYS!! Changed flights multiple times. Problems with payments. Constant back and forth communication. Failure to ensure my young children had correct meals on flight out. Spoke to them and said they would resolve only for it to happen again on the way back. Accepted no blame. Mason has zero to little intelligence and an attitude to match. Don't bother complaining as the whole company is a bunch of jokers working in the same office. Paid £8k for a holiday to get Ryanair levels of service.

Negative experience: We booked and paid £4000 to Dean at Southall Travel who then called me to say that he had booked the wrong hotel. He then called me back to say it’s going to cost £187 extra. He put me through to an awful manager who said it was only a quotation and they have made no mistake. AWAY HOLIDAYS ARE THE WORST COMPANY and avoid booking.

Negative experience: Avoid the company at all costs!! I have used this company twice before with no problems but this time there has been nothing but problems from the start. Flight changes constantly and now we are stranded in Singapore with no flight to Phuket even though they say there is only to be told 10 mins later .....oh I see there has been a flight change u need to fly via Bangkok now!! Not happening,I can get a direct flight but they won't book it. Stranded!! Mason ,shame on u. Ur customer service is diabolical and unhelpful.

Negative experience: The PCR test rules changed while we were on holiday and I emailed our agent at Away Holidays to confirm if we needed to take tests in our resort at a cost of $120 before our return home. We were assured by email we did not need to take a test prior to flying. When we arrived at Male airport, Etihad would not let us board without a negative PCR test, so we were forced to get a taxi into Male city centre and buy 2 hour PCR tests at a cost of $420. You can imagine the stress, panic and upset. It is Etihad's policy that no traveller can board a plane without a negative PCR test. The Etihad agent told us our travel agent should know this as they are the experts. Obviously not! I have emailed the contact agent with no joy and contacted Away Holidays customer services twice with no response. The holiday cost us just short of £11,000 and I am saddened that we have not been refunded the $300 extra we have paid for the tests following wrong advice form the 'experts'. Appalling customer service. Will never ever use them again.

Negative experience: I booked my holiday once with this company and the guy who helped us was really lovely , but he left unfortunately then I called to book another holiday but the guy was extremely rude and very unprofessional I can't even believe .. Fantastic experience: We've just received a full refund from Away Holidays as we couldn't go on holiday due to lockdown. We've used this company several times now and the service has got better and better. The holidays are good value and booking is easy and efficient. We've had no problems contacting them at any time and staff have been very helpful. We will certainly book with them again as soon as we can.
Negative experience: 1 STAR IS EVEN TOO MUCH FOR THIS COMPANY. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND BOOK EVERYTHING SEPERATE YOURSELVES. You will save a lot of MONEY!!!! I dealt with Brooklyn whilst I was in Dubai. I was persuaded a hotel where I realised this company push a lot (commission). when I got there I wasn't impressed and I told them to move me somewhere else. I spoke with Brooklyn and he said that's fine but named me 4/5 different hotel to go to. I kept saying No and gave him the place where I wanted. He said go back to your room and he will ring me in 20 mins as I couldn't call them from my mobile or the hotel phone. Whilst on holiday and jus about to leave for food he made us wait2 hours and still no phone call. I text my friend in the UK to ring him and tell him to ring us. He told my friend he will call now. We waited half an hour and still no call. again my friend rang and he said he will ring now. We waited for 3 hours that day and no call to get our hotel sorted. He wasted our time whilst we was on our honeymoon. In the end they still didn't sort our issue out

Fantastic experience: We always use Away holidays. Everything went well on our last holiday with them and we had a great time. The transfers were efficient and no issues (we were worried about the helicopter transfer but it was one of the highlights of the holiday). We have booked our next holiday for my wife’s 50th birthday with them and are looking forward to going.

Fantastic experience: 2nd time I've used these folk, and they are fantastic. I thought after last time I would try and piece together my own holiday but I couldn't get anywhere close to the deal - as long as you read the small print (lots of complainers who didn't bother to and got stung) and you are comfortable with the zero change policy without a fee at least, you will be golden.
Fantastic experience: This was our first booking with Away Holidays the efficiency of representave was good very knowledgeable, our receipts were sent immediately via email then days later by post, we never needed to get in touch before our holidays with any inquiries, we already decided to use them again for our next holiday because how good thy are.
Fantastic experience: Having spent hours trawling through a number of other sites, I found the Away Holidays site and almost immediately found the holiday I was looking for. The option to choose flight times and airlines was brilliant. The booking process was straightforward too. The flights with Etihad via Abu Dhabi to Phuket and back were very good. The airport transfers booked for us by Away HOlidays were efficient and the drivers were excellent. The Manathai Khao Lak hotel was superb, our room was lovely. We’d booked half-board and the food was excellent. There was a very good choice for breakfast from the buffet with eggs cooked to order. The menu choices for lunch or dinner in the Colours or Pad Thai restaurants was great. The staff were always very helpful. The local representative from Khao Lak Land Discovery met us at the hotel the morning after we arrived and we booked 2 full day trips which were fabulous. This was the best holiday we’ve had. I’m already looking into options with Away Holidays for next year and will try to include another stay at the Manathai Khao Lak as part of a multi-centre holiday in Thailand.

Positive experience: Great holiday the sales person was a bit pushy after I paid my deposit phoning and asking for more money toward the flights which put me on edge a bit. However I was charged £180 for transfers to find out it would of only cost £30 so wasn’t happy at all. Should of done my homework ! So be aware of this. All in all it was a good holiday

We stayed half board at the Mount Lavina hotel in a sea view bedroom. . Noted for it's history as the Governors mansion. Just like Raffles in the old Colonial style with lots of character. . Positive experience: We had an amazing holiday in Sri Lanka booked with Away Holidays. The hotels they picked were fantastic, amazing food, really clean, nice rooms and brilliant service. Some of the destinations on the tour could do with being better researched eg. are the elephants in the orphanage being kept in the best conditions? Is the 'Spice Garden' selling fake products? Also our tour guide tried to rush us round a couple of the sites we really wanted to visit so that he could take us to additional places which he'd receive commission for. If these points could be looked at we'd award 5 stars.
Negative experience: The worst customer service provided The worst customer service provided. A call back is too much to ask for and each different person provides a different price. If you ask for an email with the details it never arrives in you inbox. When you call them for the billionth time to request this and complain the supervisor never calls back. I’ve used them in the past but this takes the biscuit never again. Absolutely awful service don’t bother using.

Negative experience: This company doesn't even deserve a one star, bunch of thieves and dishonest company I booked my first holiday with my wife I mistakenly got her surname wrong instead of being honest and saying I could change the name with the airline with maybe a small fee the agent told me they would not allow us at all with the wrong surname I found out after the agent canceled my tickets from the airline they could change it without cancelling anything,I felt the agent Brooklyn took advantage of the situation and steered me cancelling my tickets and rebooking them again with a larger fee and to top it we didn't even get to sit together on the flight there as he said he will. My total experience was ruined and when I complained I got nowhere param the manager i spoke to kept denying any wrong doing I even e-mailed them a couple of weeks ago and still nothing after they e-mailed back saying their investigating it
