Hays Travel Sunderland Keel Square

Fantastic experience: Quick efficient and polite staff found another holiday. I feel really comfortable going into Keel Square almost part of my family. Thank you to all the staff wishing you all a happy new year I will have a few of these on holiday thinking of you Jeffrey Cowell.

Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend any one to use Hayes Travel. We paid for 5 nights stay in Alicante and when we arrived Hayes had only paid the hotel for 1 night. We rang the hotel and explained that we would not be arriving on the days we had booked because I had to spend 5 days in hospital in Benidorm with food poisoning and we would be arriving a few days late. The hotel contacted Hayes by E mail to explain why we wouldn’t be arriving but Hayes didn’t reply to the hotel. The hotel re sold the room we had paid in full for so we had to find alternative accommodation. We are still waiting for an explanation as to where the money we had paid with no comment from Hayes. All they could say we had to claim on our insurance. So £800 is still somewhere within Hayes so beware of using them in future.

Naturally Tui were as unhelpful as ever, however having Hays there to talk to them for us made everything much much easier and Shelley always did exactly what she said she would, when she said she would. Great service, highly recommended.

Negative experience: Been a week now and still no reply from them , definitely not going to happen . Customer service ( for me) is none existing.

Greedy girl hellllloo no cooking give me everything lol normally a vokca girl ooh cocktails for nothing try everyone he's not happy cus am drunk am i bothered nooo experience deal with it we got family room so double bed tele etc and kids room with bunk beds and tele so me double bed and you arse delegated to kids room lol xx

Positive experience: Only getting a 4 because we feel more events could be held here. We have attended numerous events here and all has been great. We felt the ice skating was missing the village as it just seemed plonked there. They could really make a great Christmas event here but it's been dwindling to just the ice rink for a while now. It was used a lot during the city of culture bid which suggests it's only good for showing off when sunderland want to win something which is a shame.

Positive experience: Very suprised at how good the fountains are, especially at night with the different colours and variations of height. Was relaxing to watch.

Ok... well it's a travel agents you go there to go on holiday.... what more can I say...pop in and book yourself a trip I'm sure they will accommodate for all of your needs..if covid allows of course....as for keel square it's not a tourist attraction as such, names of ships that were made on the wear is interesting...and some fountains that arnt on all the time, gets loads of teen kids haning around at times, summer time its just passable for a 10 min rest ..the rest of the year its a chav filled paradise..avoid

Fantastic experience: The place has lots of info regarding various ships built in Sunderland.. It is one of the tourist spots. It has amazing view and colourful fountains which the kids would love to play in.. The place is fully ♿ accessible . There are lots of shopping is eating places around it. There are generally special decorations and setups during festivals like halloween and christmas !

Fantastic experience: Walk the trail showing ships built on the River Wear through to Sunderland's shipbuilding years to the glass propeller showing the people who helped build the ships. Once dusk falls the cascading water show begins with changing lights. This is now a lovely civic space in front of the magistrates. The fountains weren’t on when I took my early morning picture, but they are lovely. Great to see some regeneration going on.

Fantastic experience: My kids love the fountain. In the night time it is beautifully illuminated. Some teens skate there everyday, they don't shout and they act nice. It is nice to see some tricks. Now they opened the area on the other side of the road next to the new building. This place is getting pretty.

Fantastic experience: The fact that every ship made on the Wear is listed on the Pavements makes an interesting walk. It looks good and is actually something Sunderland has done right. I o e running through the water fountains on a hot day. Today was even better as I finished my first 10km in 3 years.

Fantastic experience: A great relaxing plaza at the end of the High Street. With wooden and granite benches. Children love the mini fountains that spring from the paving at varying intervals. The fountains and the Old Magistrate's Court are illuminated with varying colours after sun down. Easy access to shops, pubs, restaurants and Sunderland Empire.

Fantastic experience: Nice place to just walk by. Not a sit and chill place as there aren't many public seats. Nice small water jet display with lights. Disks give some nice colours in the sky for photos.

Positive experience: It's only Sunderland

Positive experience: Although a nice space, at the moment it's a bit dislocated from anything really. When the vaux site over the road is complete and there are more workers and people traffic in the area the square will make more sense. Also a new hotel is due on the square soon which will complete the picture.
