Our comment from TraTraTravel UK about Holiday Extras:
Holiday Extras is a company that provides various travel-related services, including hotel bookings and airport parking. While many customers have praised the ease of booking and competitive prices, several reviews highlight significant concerns regarding customer service and refunds.
- Customers often report efficient booking processes and quick service at airport parking facilities.
- Many users appreciate the convenience of meet and greet services at various airports.
- Positive experiences include friendly staff and smooth transfers to hotels and airports.
However, numerous reviews express frustrations with the company's handling of cancellations and refunds:
- Several users report difficulties in obtaining cash refunds after cancellations, often receiving vouchers instead.
- Issues with unresponsive customer service are frequently mentioned, as customers struggle to reach support via chat or find no telephone contact available.
- Booking errors have left customers in challenging situations, especially regarding vehicle types and unexpected charges.
In summary, while Holiday Extras is known for convenience and competitive pricing, potential customers should be cautious regarding their cancellation policies and customer service practices.
Holiday Extras: Reviews
Negative experience: Awful company, when I asked for my car they drove it at speed over speed bumps through the tunnel at Luton , I have on film but could not up load. I told the driver, but he didn’t seem that bothered. I showed him the actual film again didn’t care. When I got in the car, the dash cam was disconnected and all over the place they changed it From Eco to drive which they shouldn’t be doing, granted they should be adjusting the seat and mirror but not the set up of the car, the rear middle centre cupholders were down as if they’ve to it out for a joyride with their family maybe! God knows what else did they did to the car? I wish I’d kept the mileage. I would never trust this company in my life or use them not after the way they treated my car. I will be asking for a full refund
Negative experience: Holiday Extras: A Company That Doesn’t Care About Its Customers If you're considering booking with Holiday Extras, think twice. My recent experience with them has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. On August 9, 2024, I booked a hotel through Holiday Extras and canceled within five minutes, only to be informed that I was not eligible for a cash refund. Despite their "free cancellation" banner, I was only offered a voucher. Nowhere in the booking process did it clearly state that only vouchers would be issued, not cash refunds, even for immediate cancellations. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and misleading. When I reached out to Holiday Extras on August 9, I hoped for a straightforward resolution. Instead, I was met with vague responses and a shifting of responsibilities. On August 11, I received a response from Matthew, who reiterated their rigid policy without addressing my concerns about the misleading cancellation terms. I followed up again, requesting a cash refund and pointing out the lack of clear information provided during the booking process. By August 12, Jade informed me that my case had been escalated, promising a resolution within 21 days. I waited, but no resolution came. I followed up multiple times, including on September 17 and September 23, yet still received no meaningful update. Today, October 4, I have heard nothing further, despite repeatedly chasing for a resolution. This company is more interested in holding onto customers' money than ensuring satisfaction. Holiday Extras’ lack of transparency, inflexible policy, and abysmal customer service make it clear that they do not prioritize their customers. If you value honesty, responsiveness, and accountability, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I certainly will in the future.
Negative experience: I wish to pass on how this company left us potentially stranded in France and refused to accept there is an error in their booking process together with flatly refusing to refund the additional money we were forced to pay at the airport to sot out their mistake! Our Holiday arrival and letter of complaint: I wish to take issue with the service provision regarding our car hire organised through Holidayextras.com during our trip in the South of France this week. On arrival at the airport in Nice, after waiting for an hour to be served at the check in desk we were informed that the car being provided with this agreement was to be electric! This was definitely NOT something I would have requested at point of sale as we are in a strange country and had a distance to travel to reach our final holiday destination from Nice airport - which the local village we are staying in has no electric charge points even if we had accepted the error. This error cost us a further €120 on arrival to correct and only due to the good will of Europcar did they allow (for the additional payment) the exchange of type of vehicle. This was something that we feel Holidayextras.com are responsible for as far as I was aware I had requested a petrol or diesel automatic car during the signup agreement. The young lady at the hire desk was also shocked that the paperwork did not inform of the error that we could have addressed with Holidayextras before leaving the UK. She even attempted going through the booking process herself to determine where the error could have happened and was unable to find any references to vehicle fuel type including on our receipt paperwork. I therefore requested the refund of the additional €120 that we had to unexpectedly pay to address the administration error + any additional currency charges made by our card provider At no point would we have personally selected an electric vehicle knowing that we were going to such a remote area in France and feel very let down that HolidayExtras could have just left us stranded in a French airport had it not been for the good will and additional capability to hire of the car team at Nice Airport. This refund was refused and the company tried to pass the blame back onto us stated WE had selected and electric vehicle (when there's no actual fuel choice given). Then they went on to state we had then entered into a 2nd contract nullifying their liability!! Please think very carefully folks before using HolidayExtras.com!! ** post edit ** seems my perseverance won through…. After my reviews of this company went live on social media HolidayExtras.com agreed to my refund!
Negative experience: I had to cancel Brisiol parking booking with over a week to run. Holiday Extras wanted to issue a voucher for the full amount, but they issued a partial refund when I refused. What a con! When I cancelled, they kept £10 of my money as a voucher, only paying me an £80 cash refund. It's my £10 and I want it back... after contacting Holiday Extras customer service I received: Cancellations within 7 days of making your booking will be issued a voucher for the full amount. You can cancel your voucher and request a cash refund within 14 days of issue. Cancellations 7 days or more after making your booking, will be issued a voucher for the full amount. You can cancel your voucher and request a cash refund (less £10 which we’ll save to your account to use on your next booking) within 14 days of issue. So be warned: If you cancel after seven days of booking, they will keep some, if not all, of your money and issue a voucher. Not a happy person...
Negative experience: I have used holiday extras for probably 8 years. It's been simple to book hotels and parking, right up to when you want to cancel and get a refund. 3 weeks so far, and guess what, no telephone, so you are at the mercy of live chat, which isn't always so live!
Negative experience: This firm are ABSOLUTELY USELESS in Turkey. Someone has cut a deal with Tefen Operasyon, who, when you arrive at the airport, treat you terribly, they start off quite well, they send you instructions and videos of where to go on WhatsApp, but once there, they repeatedly lie about the whereabouts of your driver. On arrival we were nonchalantly told that the driver would arrive when the driver would arrive. It was my friends birthday, we’d had a long journey, we asked politely where the car was and were told by the local man in charge, that the problem was that “all Turkish drivers lie about where they are, because they want the job” and that the firm had no idea when he’d arrive. He took an hour and then, whilst I studied Google Maps for the quick way to go, he went completely the wrong way, and on top of delaying us an hour at pick up, he delayed the start of holiday by a further 30 minutes by driving through the heavily congested wrong part of town. On the return, we waited patiently for 25 minutes past our pick up time, before calling HOLIDAY EXTRAS HQ. They had a stab at helping, but in the end we asked a waiter to communicate with our taxi driver, who when I called him, repeatedly said “no English, no English” and said “traffic, traffic”. This firm is a shambles. I’d go with a hotel which sends a driver as the yellow cabs at the airport all try and pick you off and UBER isn’t allowed to pick you up. Whatever you do, don’t rely on Holiday Extras as they are now unreliable.
Negative experience: Wouldn't let us change number plate of car we were parking with despite having a button to amend car details. Just sent you round in circles then they replied to an email a week later saying it wasn't possible. Why put an option to change if it doesn't let you. Terrible experience with this company
Negative experience: Don't get fooled by their refund promisses. They give you a voucher to pay themselves again, the options are limited and priced are not competitive at all
Negative experience: Horrible company and crooks. Booked travel insurance through po cruises and they lied about the cover online. I'm sailing from Malta and the small print says they don't cover Malta. Be very careful, this company uses small print to mislead people tricking them into booking. In addition their customer service is non existent. Nice website but that's it. Beware and stay away.
Negative experience: Have not refunded my money despite cancelling on the same day as the booking was made - could cancel up until the day before stay. No way to contact this company. No email or phone number available. messaging and complaints options on their website not working. Do not use.
Negative experience: Extremely poor customer service. Extremely poor customer service. Lounge description is far from accurate, T2 lounge only offered hot Indian cuisine. Avoided price matching by claiming that I had 3 mins of the 24 hours left to have claimed, despite thier customer service desk being closed before the 24hrs had expired. If you just do a Google search you can save at least 20% on their prices. Awful company, learned my lesson the hard way, by paying too much for a terrible service. Used their complaints procedure to absolutely no effect. Still told I had time to ask for a price match and claimed the lounge issues are not their problem, even though the lounge didn't match their description!! AVOID THEM, Use GOOGLE and save YOUR MONEY. Provided that you accept the lounge will not meet expectations.
Negative experience: Cheaper to go direct through hotel including for parking which is cheaper and on site. They also spam your email address with advertising
Positive experience: Looked good although I didn't stop here I just carried out some work here
Negative experience: We were due to return from Latvia on Monday 24th July but Ryan air canceled our flight, so we re booked for Sunday 23rd July. Tried to re book the new return flight on the website and it wanted a extra £26:10 even though we are coming back a day early. The only way I could find to alter the booking was to cancel and re book which also cost more than the original booking. Through no fault of my own it still cost me more, I think they should have reduced the initial price by £15 because we were forced to return early.
Negative experience: Please do no trust this company to insure you. We all hope we never need to use our policies but when we do, we expect the claim to be handled. I made my claim over a month ago and still nothing. No one had acknowledged and not bothered to reply to my emails. Calling them is pointless as being told the same thing “someone will be in touch”. From my experience with this company, i would highly advise not to use them! When you need the help and need to make a claim, you will be on your own.
Negative experience: Contacted online chat; as the number I needed for insurance claim did not allow for what I needed to ask. Jonathan wrote 2 things, and then I was unable to communicate further. It seemed that "chat" was ended?! Was trying to collect information for an adult with a learning disability. Have a feeling this will be a sign of things to come with his travel insurance claim.
Negative experience: Can not get in touch with anyone
Negative experience: Absolutely appalling. If there was an option for zero stars I would have used it. If you ever need to contact them forget it. Their online "chat" does not work and ALL of their phone number have the same recorded message about using the chatline. Stick to booking your parking through the airport.
Fantastic experience: Booked multiple times for Airport parking through Holiday extras and have always found their prices competitive and the parking a stress free experience
Negative experience: Been using purple parking for years. Went to Iceland for a few days just before Christmas. Took out late return insurance. We were delayed 44 hrs and were told we had to pay a further £20. Explained we had insurance but were told we had to pay and claim back from holiday extras who were a parent company that dealt with the insurance. One of the staff even made comment that the insurance wasn’t worth the paper it was written on!!!! We did make a clam 10 days later (Christmas caused a slight delay). The claim was denied as apparently we had to submit it within 3 days!!! No one told us this at the venue and if it’s in the fine print, it’s not obvious!! Seems unreasonable to me and the company have now lost a longstanding customer over £20. Shame, I had no issue with the actual parking venue.
Negative experience: Get scammed BEFORE you go on holiday! Do not book your parking through these people, they put enormous effort into taking your money and filling review pages with false 5* reviews (who in real life bothers to leave a 5* review about an airport car park experience?) My flight was cancelled but booking my parking with these scammers was still the worst part of my holiday.
Negative experience: CHEAPER AND EASIER TO USE OFFICIAL PARKING at the AIRPORT.. than these SCAMMERS. Parking postcode is wrong, no refund as customer services not interested.. Bunch of
Negative experience: This is a bad firm I went to bodrum turky earlier this year had a bad fall they refused to pay for my treatment. I paid for my own treatment even tho I had gold cover now they still will not pay out . Stay clear
Fantastic experience: Had to cancel the first week of a 4 week booking due to a bereavement. Eventually spoke to very understanding members of staff. Mr Cozens the manager was amazing.
Fantastic experience: Spoke to Natalie this evening as I booked my car in twice and was charged twice within 10 minutes it was all sorted out and a refund was given back thanks natalie
Negative experience: Absolute Robbing jokers Avoid at all costs Booked parking through Easy Jet and now get a refund voucher for holiday extras!? Eh Refund to my real bank please
Fantastic experience: I just want to say a huge thank you for the kindness you showed us when our large motorhome broke down on Saturday afternoon and we parked in your beautiful grounds in Hythe for the rest of the day and all day Sunday. You were very understanding and we felt very safe there waiting for the AA to pick us up. Vehicle is still there, but I believe it will be taken away by AA within the next couple of hours. Thanks to everyone.
Negative experience: Dreadful customer service, in fact no service at all. Impossible to contact anyone by telephone only a chat bot that keeps pushing you to a different chat bot, a complete time wasting exercise when all you get is a response that the complaint will be looked into and current responses are around 30 day wait. Complete nonsense. I paid money up front for a return taxi from Palma Airport in Majorca to a hotel but the return taxi from Hotel to Airport did not show so I had to get a local taxi and pay them. Why should I wait 30 days for my refund!!
Fantastic experience: I moved the dates of a holiday and, initially, I thought their customer service was appalling. Turns out, my computer wasn't working and they were actually incredibly helpful. Sorted out my refund in seconds and were really professional.
Negative experience: Fined by NCP at Gatwick for not paying the drop-off charge even when I was reassured in person by Holiday Extra staff that I wouldn’t be (their systems were linked, I was repeatedly assured). Waited in line for help through the chat room on their app only to be kicked out after pushing for an answer once at the front) Now having to deal with NCP….joy
Negative experience: So disappointed with this company Cant call Cant video call in chat as not working Spent 5 evenings trying to amend booking through live chat get in queue then cuts out ! Sent emails and no response
Negative experience: What a company, you can't contact them. I have been trying for 2 days. I think they are a scam. BEWARE.
Fantastic experience: London Gatwick Parking; booked using evoucher from prev cancelled trips. Whole experience excellent, quick, simple, efficient. Can't fault it. Book early as possible to get best prices.
Negative experience: We used Purple Parking at Heathrow for Terminal 3. Apart from reception and picking up the car, the service was shambolic. We arrived at the bus stop early morning after a long transatlantic flight and joined a queue of around six others. The bus arrived and we were unable to board as it was full of luggage and people heading for Terminal 5. The people in front of us managed to board the bus and the driver told us the next bus was on it's way. We then had to wait over half an hour in the cold and wet for the bus. When it arrived it was almost full. We managed to board but had difficulty negotiating a way through masses of luggage and people to a seat. People behind us who should never have been allowed to board were becoming aggressive at our lack of progress down the bus. It was again full of Terminal 5 passengers. After leaving Terminal 3 we were then taken to Terminal 5 where passengers disembarked. We were then transported to our car which took almost an hour in total on the road. Throughout this horrible journey there was no concern for either social distancing or Health and Safety. Why were there not more buses operating? This was a very unpleasant experience which we would not wish to repeat. Sadly, we have booked the same service in August.
Fantastic experience: Always a good service. Thank you
Fantastic experience: I had to change my booking with Purple Parking at the last minute due to Covid complications, and the process couldn't have been smoother. I even had to fly from a different airport which was far easier than I had anticipated. Did it all in 10 minutes using the app, it made a stressful time less so and I'll certainly be using them again in the future.
Fantastic experience: Great accommodation all went smoothly Transfer to and from airport was fast and polite staff
Fantastic experience: Booked parking from Gatwick, shuttle bus left regularly and really quick giving keys back once we got back. Would use again
Fantastic experience: This is the second time we have used Holiday Extras and to be honest the service is excellent. Quick and easy to book on-line. Easy to drop of keys at the airport and it is so nice to be able to collect the keys and drive away after a long flight.
Fantastic experience: Booked transfers to and from airport, clear directions on arrival and departure with both drivers on time, cars were clean and drivers friendly
Negative experience: Not happy with the carpark stay. No chance to get in touch with costumer service if there is any questions. Not recomend5
Fantastic experience: Meet and Greet car parking -London Gatwick - really pleased I have found this service . Early flight so wanted to be as close as possible to the terminal -directions clear , pleasant and efficient staff so will be using this service from now on as also good value.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service and very friendly staff
Positive experience: This review is for the hotel ( Marriot Heathrow ) we booked through Holiday extras and NOT holiday extras themselves who did a perfectly good job. My issue is with the hotel. Yes its clean and ok for what it does. BUT its not near Heathrow, the taxi was £17 to go to the airport in the morning ... the taxi dropped us at the wrong terminal !!! we didn't notice till he had just left and we then had to get another taxi to the correct terminal. On the way back the black cab was a fixed price of £40 ... this is all a rip off PLEASE REMEMBER my beef is the location of the Marriot " Heathrow " This is not near Heathrow. Please beaware
Fantastic experience: Easy to book airport parking and easy to park once there. Everything very straight forward.
Fantastic experience: Wrong registration printed on Luton airport parking ticket. Emailed same day. Got a reply the next to try the ticket or call c/s and quote the booking reference and all sorted out. Really didn’t want to pay extra £341 :)
Fantastic experience: Booking process was simple and quick. Price was competitive. Car park and bus transfer all good. Lounge booking and experience at Stansted was also great and well worth the cost! I've used Holiday extras on several occasions now and I cannot fault them!
Positive experience: Holiday Airport meet and greet service was quick and straight forward. Once you knew where you were going and parked up, it saved a lot of time on airport transfers especially if you were running a little late and had small children. Would use them again.
Fantastic experience: I'd already booked my parking for Stansted and had reserved mid-stay parking through Ryanair. When I had to change my flight, I discovered that if you book through that airline, you're unable to amend or cancel the reservation. I hadn't used Holiday Extras for several years (mainly because I haven't been travelling, due to covid) but was extremely impressed with the process - I was able to chat to someone immediately on their website (when I tried to speak to Ryanair, I was number 286 in the queue), and they were very helpful. Because my stay was for longer than originally planned, I was recommended to use the long stay car park. Competitively priced, easy booking process and easy check in/check out on arrival and departure. And I got a 'welcome back' email!
Negative experience: Booked airport transfer, waited for 30minutes, lead me to take local taxi to accommodation, got a phone call from transfer company approximately 2 hours after landing to ask if I am still waiting to be collected.
Fantastic experience: Booked Clayton as this was only hotel which was flexible with parking for my 16 days. Very easy to access hotel and park up. Comfortable room and bed and excellent food and drinks in restaurant with very reasonable prices. On time Shuttle service to and from terminal and car ready and waiting. Will be booking directly with them for next travel from Manchester if it is an early flight as it takes all the stress and strain out of the beginning of travel.
Positive experience: A complete disaster.we booked a 1 night stay at the Radisson Blue at Heathrow, with parking for our 10 day stay in St Lucia,to be at our grandaughters wedding. It was in fact the Radisson Red, so to start with we could not find it and ended up fighting our way round Heathrow in the rush hour. Parked up on arrival, had a nice evening meal went to bed. Fine room bed etc..Woke early, went to car about 5am got the phone to charge up ,decided to check the petrol so started up the engine. It sounded like a tractor! Checked underneath, exhaust sawn off.Hopper Bus due ,decided to leave it 'till we returned. Lovely Sandals holiday back to reality. Had tried to report the theft whilst away but could not get it accepted.(and still can't) Crime number essential for any insurance settlement Arranged recovery of us and the car. back to Malvern, about 140 miles. Not included in the policy so that will be £357 please.Paid over the phone to the R.A.C. Loaded and on the way when the driver tells us we will be handed over at Oxford for the onward journey. Told to wait there for 20 minutes if no one comes ring this number. Half hour later still waiting, ring ,answer phone, back to R A C, They had been told we would be on a straight thro' journey so start to try and find someone to pick us up. It's the day after boxing day. Anyway sat it out in a freezing car park for over 2hours before we eventually got loaded again and home. Lessons: Check the Hotel name ( the RADISSON BLUE is an Isolationhotel) Check the security of the car park ( Hotel has no liability) Caution---- you wouldn't believe the Covid Paperwork when you go away these days
Positive experience: Booked for Manchester. Sat Nav was a bit cruddy, but probably its fault not theirs! Service was spot on, but they need to update the notes on the back of the ticket they issue as it tells you to "follow the signs for D & G" rather than wait for the bus - fortunately it was there waiting for us! As with all these parking companies I found it intensely irritating that they had to mess around with the position of the drivers seat for a few yards of driving and it takes me ages to get it back to how I like it, but that's common to all of them for some inexplicable reason. Overall a good service and we got home very quickly with little fuss.
Fantastic experience: Booked parking for Luton airport, very good directions, easy entrance and parking space found, shuttle bus within times quoted and on return on boxing day. Recommended.
Negative experience: So disappointed with holiday extras… We missed our flight though no fault of our own, and had to catch one 2 days later - the extra for the 2 days was more than the 5 days originally booked…. And I tried to contact them before hand but unable to get past the answer phone and suggestion that you can just modify on line… which you cannot.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service they were there to greet us at arracife Airport and take us to our hotel in playa Blanca very friendly and helpful. They also offer a return service back to the airport which we had again they were bang on time overall a great service and would highly recommend Holiday extras to everyone
Fantastic experience: Excellent service and so easy I will definitely use meet and greet again.
Positive experience: Leeds Bradford Airport, mid-stay carpark: Decent price, decent website, decent sized parking spaces, automatic number plate recognition at entrance and exit. 2 or 3 minutes walk to terminal. Easy to miss entrance, poor signage and road markings within the carpark, poor signage to and from carpark to terminal for first time users. Will use again.
Fantastic experience: Had to cancel first booking because of covid. When we rebooked the process was quite easy even though we changed from hotel and parking to meet and greet. The parking and return were easy as well. Although it would have been nice if the guy on reception had been a little more welcoming.
Fantastic experience: Safe, secure, cheap. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Definitely using the place again next year.
Fantastic experience: It was easy to book, and the service was fantastic, I did not wait, I park my car and I gut to keep my keys with me, and then when I com back I look around my car there is no scratch or any damage and interior of the car. Well done
Fantastic experience: Very easy to book and the meet and greet in Terminal 5 level 4 could not have been more convenient
Negative experience: Never again. Specifically booked a saloon car but a large minibus arrived which my wife could not access. After one full hour the driver simply abandoned us! Received a full refund but 1/5 is more generous than I want to be. I will avoid in the future.
Fantastic experience: Found from start to finish the efficiency and friendliness of staff excellent, even when I rang from Portugal to extend stay this company's service was excellent
Fantastic experience: Brilliant service. Efficient and pleasant operators. Definitely recommend for Cruise departure from Southampton
Fantastic experience: Hassle free at Birmingham airport car park 1
Negative experience: We prepaid for a car to collect us at Los Angeles Airport. The instructions with the booking confirmation told me to switch on my phone in the baggage claim area and I would be told where our driver would pick us up. These instructions were hopelessly inadequate. The car dispatcher told us to go to "Lot 30B" to meet our driver. We spent about 45 minutes searching for Lot 30B, asking the Information Desk (knew nothing helpful) and calling the dispatcher many times in the hope of getting some meaningful instructions. He didn't know the airport and didn't know how we could find Lot 30B. We asked around and eventually discovered we had to get a shuttle bus to a huge parking area where we found a sign for area 30B. We then had to call the dispatcher yet again who only then ordered a car for us that was actually from Lyft. This service was dismal. Holiday Extras should have know LAX has moved all car collections & taxi services to a distant car park, so one must take a shuttle bus. This should all be in the instructions. Booking a car seems pointless. The dispatcher doesnt arrange it until you get to the infamous Lot 30B, so it would be simpler to get an ordinary yellow cab /Uber/Lyft and cut out the inept middlemen. On the bright side, our driver was first class and deserves top marks for the service he provided.
Fantastic experience: It all worked smoothly at Stansted both outward bound and on return. No queues, helpful staff, clear explanations
Positive experience: Arrived at the parking to find the way blocked to get into the self parking area. I had to move a barrier to get in but there were parking spaces. I then had to leave my car keys, something I don't normally do and wasn't made clear when booking. I was then faced with a sign stating not to leave Sat Nav etc in the car, was I really supposed to take it with me in holiday? Other than the above all went smoothly.
Fantastic experience: Easy to book via the app. Always use this company for airport parking and a hotel if needed. No complaints. And prices a very reasonable. Thank you.
Negative experience: Lovely hotel but bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The mattress topper was full of hard lumps where it had been washed but the filling had not been shaken out thoroughly enough. We hardly slept all night. When we brought this to the attention of the management in the morning, their response was to move us to another room (we were staying for one night only, with a flight to catch so pointless). No issues with parking.
Fantastic experience: Easy to find, good price and close to the terminal. Don’t stop on the the first floor however, keep going up
Negative experience: Booked a Private Airport transfer from JFK to Manhattan, got a text from driver to say he was waiting, we went out to the arranged collection point & waited 20 minutes for him to actually arrive, in a battered, dirty vehicle with thorn seat covers. driver opened the boot & doors from the drivers seat & didn't even offer to help with luggage at pick up or drop off. tried online chat to try & make sure the service was better for the return & was told it couldn't be done on chat, they would contact me within 21 days... we were only in New York for only 5 days!!!!!! On return journey, driver was 45 minutes late, better vehicle, nice driver who helped with luggage, only to tell us to move over as he was picking up someone else as well. Poor customer service &still waiting for a response!!!!
Fantastic experience: We ALWAYS use Holiday Extras for our airport transfers, and without fail, the drivers & vehicles have all been excellent. Drivers are friendly & courteous and always on time.
Negative experience: Booked Express Parking but it just didn’t work. One of us had to make phone calls to get someone to override and one of us stood for half an hour with the luggage. Result panic and aggravation! Similar palaver on return. Not good.
Fantastic experience: Booked using a voucher issued after previous trip cancelled due to lockdown. Chose the closest one, there were plenty of spaces and it worked perfectly both on entry and exit. Highly recommended
Fantastic experience: Booked a hotel near Heathrow that had parking for the duration of our holiday, plus a taxi to get us to the airport. Hotel was brilliant, food very good, and we were able to take our car keys with us so no-one could drive it. A VERY good price for this package, we would definitely use HE again.
Fantastic experience: Used them many times for airport parking (with/without hotels), always been great on price and service and can highly recommend them.
Fantastic experience: Fabulous deal with a night in the Sheraton and 2 weeks parking plus a shuttle to the airport … couldn’t fault it !
Negative experience: Booked a Heathrow hotel and airport stay with parking . Website completely misrepresented the cost of the transfers in the description and they ended up being 3x the price that the description in The offering . Customer service acknowledged and accepted the flaw on the website but refused to honor the prices they had clearly indicated.
Negative experience: Pre booked airport parking for 7 days. Arrived at airport to find that there were no parking spaces for 45 minutes (tried to get through to live chat but took too long) so called the intercom on the car park barrier. Ended up parking in the meet & greet car park. Then when I got back a week later, I received an extra £25 charge on top of what I paid as my flight landed at midnight and the days got mixed up. Avoid the stress.
Negative experience: Along with so many others, I am appalled by the illegal and cavalier attitude of this company in not providing cash refunds. No £10 'PROCESSING FEE' applied when the booking contract was made- yet they are applying this retrospectively. Taking them to the Small Claims court. Worth spending £25 which will be refunded. Will never use them again. Committing commercial suicide
Negative experience: Sadly i will not be using Holiday Extras again owing to the fact that they have used confused and difficult means for refunding cancellations. I do feel if they had acted more transparently for example in my case sending mixed messages that they would hold on to their customers instead of the possibility of losing them for good.
Negative experience: Holiday extras response to customers during the covid pandemic is shocking. Only email response and it's a cut and paste response. Refusal of refunds.
Negative experience: After a long time of good service with this company, it is a shame that I have to report that in times of need they behave callously without equality or any fairness. They will not honour their own flexible booking policy, will not provide refund and discriminate against their clients based on profession and for not having the loudest voice in social media. I and hundreds of people out of pocket as a result of their behaviour and COVID 19 and they are withholding these people’s money and refused any further communication. They have not paid the supplier for the services we have booked, and we have not received the service we paid for. The buck has literally stopped with them. Shameful. It is said how you behave in the bad times will come around two fold in the good. I hope they can do the right thing before this is over or it will stand to get much worse.
Negative experience: Holiday extras have refused to refund money as per their terms and conditions after cancelling bookings and are offering vouchers instead. I have had to spend several hours of my time fighting for my cash.
Negative experience: Paid for a cancellation insurance so that could cancel my bookings for any reason. However Holiday Extras now refuse to pay out and want to give a voucher. They are happy to take your money but don’t expect to receive any customer service after as they have switched their phones off and only sending out emails say no refunds.
Negative experience: Shocking customer service! Cancelled a refundable carpark booking and received confirmation that I would receive refund within 7 days. Four weeks later I received a voucher which I did not ask for and they refuse to give me my money back. Who do they think they are?! I will never be using them again.
Negative experience: Terrible company! Refusing to refund me. Will never use them again.
Negative experience: I have used HE many times in the past and not had a problem. But this year when I have had to cancel my booking due to my holiday being cancelled they have so far refused to refund my payment and just want to give me a voucher valid for 18 months which is not acceptable. They are also not respondong to my complaint that I have raised
Negative experience: Used holiday extras many times over the years. Booked parking for april. Due to covid-19 holiday cancelled as was the parking. I was promised a refund but 7weeks on still no refund. Several emails back and forth still no refund and voucher credit of which i do not want. My credit card company are now involved as a charge back. If this company is still going after all this i will be very surprised as there are hundreds of angry customers. Martin lewis has aired concerns as has Which? So see what happens. Will not use again
Negative experience: This company has no morals do not use I booked parking and paid cancellation waiver I had to cancel so asked for refund no problems the money less waiver fee will be put back onto your card I thought great service.until 2 weeks later they changed their minds and told me I had to accept vouchers,These are useless to me as I have just turned 80 and with heart problems the insurance cost has trebled so I will not be able to travel abroad again ,I’ve contacted them by email several times and always had same response voucher only So Disappointed with them booked in feb.cancelled end March Ref BMSVFH
Negative experience: COVID-19, BE AWARE, this company is holding customers money that should legally be refunded, even if you take out their insurance. I have no doubt they will be investigated by the CMA over their response to Covid-19 and changing the terms and condition of which they amend without informing customers. I for one will never use them again.
Negative experience: Company is refusing refunds to customers - even ones who cancelled before the travel ban and who have cancellation insurance. Openly ignoring customers communication and posting fake reviews on Trust pilot.... very very sad
Negative experience: Dreadful company. Avoid at all costs. Withholding refunds for services not provided. Not treating customers with any respect. Have kept money that is not rightfully theirs to keep.
Negative experience: Horrible company. Contacted them on 16th March. They then cancelled my booking. Promised (in writing) a full refund to my card and then refused to do this. Hundreds of similar stories of social media. Do yourself a favour and avoid them.
Negative experience: Avoid this company when booking hotels and car parks, book direct instead. They have changed their terms and conditions which they have applied to past bookings so that you cannot get a payment refund should you wish to cancel. This is despite paying extra for a cancellation waiver. They are instead only offering a voucher. They have not paid the car parks or hotels for future bookings so are just keeping their customers money. Should this company go bust then the voucher will worth nothing as it is not even a credit refund note. Your booking is not paid for and you will have to pay again. The hotels and car parks are refunding customers with their original payment method, no voucher. The small discount you may get from this 'middleman' company is not worth the risk.
Negative experience: Terrible Customer service and attitude during Covid, won't be using them again
Negative experience: Great on taking your money if you want to cancel they'll just decide to change their t's and c's to suit themselves and keep the money! No refunds!
Negative experience: Appalling customer service. Lack of communication, lack of process, lack of integrity, but mostly lack of refund. I paid for cancellation waiver, I cancelled, I requested a refund again and again and again - no answers only generic emails. Still what can you expect when the CEO’s mantra is ‘no fun, no point’? Giving refunds is clearly ‘no fun’ so there would be ‘no point’ in the CEOs view. He’s also stated publicly that he hates rules and red tape as if that’s an excuse for not following them. Worst customer service in more decades than I care (or am sometimes!) able to remember.
