Bolsover Cruise Club is officially the UK’s Favourite Cruise Agent. Negative experience: Bolsover Cruise literature and website advertised a cruise/stay package for £6100 per passenger, however on discussing the package with the agent the cost increased on the same day to £6750. When we decided to go ahead and started to provide all our details to the agent, the price suddenly rose by a further £900 per person due to their own administrative error. Please be careful when booking with Bolsover, their brochures and Web pages may be misleading as to the real costs.

As explained at the time, Azamara's cruise fare increased as it has been a very popular sailing, and the Rovos rail supplement was error on our part. This was brought to light before any bookings were finalised. This is not usual practice for Bolsover Cruise Club, but unfortunately human errors can occur for which we are aware the agent you spoke to has apologised.
Fantastic experience: We've used Bolsover for several years for our cruises. They excelled today when they spent time with me and called me back a few times when my phone cut out. All for me to cancel and re-book at a newly advertised reduced price. I can't see how they would make any money from me today, but they've certainly secured any future business.

Negative experience: Refused a refund of my £300 deposit after 24 hours when I saw the terms and conditions in writing. They rely on third parties to pass on their terms and conditions verbally, like Chinese whispers something is bound to be missed or not relayed properly, or not at all. I would not recommend this company, their tactic appears to be banking on customers committing to pay the full balance as they can't get their deposit back. Dodgy business practices to say the least. Proceed with caution, don't pay for anything until you see the terms and conditions written down in front of yourself. Seemed more interested in sending me junk e mail's about another cruise instead of rectifying my issues. Absolutely not satisfied one iota. It wont let me post this without ticking a star value, there should be a negative scale, then it would be five stars.

Negative experience: Fantastic when making booking and lots of promises but actually totally totally not good at all. They booked a family of 4 under 2 different reservatinos, making any amendments impossible. They 100% did that on purpose. They made various promises but nothing! We are experienced travellers and their sales techniques still got to us!! I have got in touch since yesterday and again today - definitely not as fast as replying to Google reviews! Even now in touch with someone for misselling

How many trees have been cut down, what effect they have had on the eco system and the overall cost of this unwanted intrusion is a disgrace. Negative experience: Not quite as good as it's cracked up to be. Sales advisor knew little or nothing about the cruise/stay we had chosen. We had to drag information out of them re booking references and actual paperwork has been posted. Heaven knows why they don't send by e mail! Didn't feel valued at all, and everything was a grind. Considering that, between us, we were spending over £50k, I hoped to come away feeling happy. I didn't. It seems some advisors are friendlier than others. I will definitely think twice before using Bolsover again.

Fantastic experience: Sunday evening emergency sorted 110% by Bolsover Cruise Club Having travelled successfully with Bolsover several times before and having again received their usual excellent detailed itinerary and arrangements, we went for a 13-day fly-cruise, due to fly out from Bristol on 21st May at 5.40pm travelling to Rome, staying overnight and then with transfers arranged to our cruise ship the following afternoon. The flight out was delayed and then, at around 7.00pm it was cancelled with no seats available to Rome for more than 24 hours. We phoned Bolsover’s emergency number and within an hour they had booked us a flight for early the following morning from Stanstead. We drove the 200 miles to stay overnight at Stanstead before catching a morning flight to Rome with travel direct to the port. Bolsover also arranged for a change to the return flight to take us back to Stanstead to pick up our car. Everything arranged without any more problems or costs. Thanks Bolsover.

Negative experience: Put a deposit down on a cruise, cancelled 2 hrs later due to finding terrible reviews , messed about by staff, initially told would be refunded this later denied. I have now lost deposit. Big mistake bolsover cruise club as will never book again through you, I spent over £10000 with you on a previous cruise. You have taken my money for nothing. Well done . Do not use! very bad.

Who was both friendly + efficient. Upshot was I quickly secured my booking at a price I found very fair and the accessible cabin I needed on the departure date I wanted. Spit spot, all done. Negative experience: Absolutely awful, the agent didn't understand what the retreat benefits was, I had to explain to her which is rubbish. On a cruise costing over £5k she offered a discount of £96, so I went to Hays travel who took over £300 off!

I have had dealings with Bolsover CC on more than two occasions and they have done everything that they said they would do, i.e call me back when promised, followed up with emails and courtesy calls. Negative experience: Terrible service! My family have used Bolsover Travel from back in the day when Michael and his Mum ran the business from Bolsover and for many years after, we have also recommended to many friends, so when I wanted to book a cruise they were the first company I thought of. Never again what terrible service, empty promises of call backs within a day, not listening to and understanding my requirements. Enormously inflated prices as compared to Fred Olsen themselves and other travel agents. Over £1,000 more with Bolsover. I will never use them again nor recommend. Such a shame when they were always known for their excellent customer service.

Fantastic experience: If you want a cruise at a good price, look no further than Bolsover Cruise Club. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Negative experience: Turned up today to book a holiday and there's a sign on the door saying it's closed to customers and you have to phone them instead! The sign says they are "working hard to get the Cruise Bureau back up and running", but the staff are in there answering the phones. There were also staff sat at reception looking out the door at us. Having now checked the website it says, "Due to the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Cruise Centre will remain closed to the public until further notice. Don’t worry, we’re still here for you in the meantime!" It's September 2022! Are they joking!!! We won't be booking with them again.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting the way they treat their staff is horrendous. They don’t care about mental health and refuse to offer extra help with training and make up complete lies about their employees just to get rid of them because they don’t fit in with the snootyness of the place. They think they are above anyone who walks in and wouldn’t bat an eyelid at sending anyone away who doesn’t fit their “posh standard” so I wouldn’t go with them if I was you just go elsewhere. Save your money and go with somewhere who cares about their staff and customers…. Disgusting
