Negative experience: DON’T USE THESE PEOPLE - THEY ARE SCAMMERS. Beyond unhelpful, booked us in at a horrendous hotel in Greece last summer which resulted in us having to change locations, and they still haven’t issued a refund. We paid for a family room and were put in a double one instead. ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED AND IF ANY ISSUES ARISE, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. Avoid avoid avoid!

Positive experience: We got a great deal, Lauren was fantastic and booking was so simple! The only downside was that when we arrived at the apartment, no one was there to greet us or give us keys. A lovely lady in another apartment called the service manager and we were able to collect the keys from a nearby hotel. It turns out that the service manager had been waiting all day for us and only left an hour before we arrived. She had no details of our flight or how to contact us, the same as we had no contact details for her! Lucky we know this country because I could imagine it would be quite frightening otherwise........

Negative experience: I travelled to Mexico with Holiday Genie in December 2022. The flights, hotel and transfer from Cancun airport to the hotel - over 1 hours drive went perfectly. It was a beautiful holiday until, after checking out of my hotel and waiting for my prepaid transfer, nothing turned up. I contacted the emergency local number and was told they had no vehicles and I should just get a taxi. This cost me US$100 (£85). On return to the UK I explained what had happened and expected a refund to cover the cost of the taxi. After over 3 months of being asked to provide the same details over and over I have been told that, as the Mexican company is refusing to pay out, the issue is closed and they are refusing any refund. I’m very disappointed with this attitude and would never book with them again.

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from a family holiday to New York and we nust share how impressed we were with Beth,the senior sales adviser with Holiday Genie.There were some pre- booking concerns,but she guided us through the process carefully and professionally,answering all our emails promptly. As a result, the trip went swimmingly.The Jet Blue flight was superb and the hotel was central and comfortable.We would happily use Holiday Genie again in future.Thank you all x.

Fantastic experience: We booked a last minute holiday to Antigua through Holiday Genie - Charlotte. I had a few questions to ask and these were quickly answered and the holiday booked. Free transfers were also arranged which was a nice bonus. Will certainly look at booking future holidays through Holiday Genie due to the excellent service I received.

Negative experience: 2 stars because ultimately I did go on holiday for a good price. But once checked out of our hotel, the hotel kept the deposit on my card because Holiday Genie hadn’t settled the room balance - even though I had paid Holiday Genie for my trip in full. I emailed and rang Holiday Genie and they said it would take at least 28 days to investigate. I gave them more than 28 days then rang up my credit card company and they gave me the money and will now seek to recoup from Holiday Genie. “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is” Steer clear everyone, suggest you pay just a little bit more and book through a known reputable company.

Negative experience: Booked my holiday back in February this year paid in full. Later was told the flight was cancelled but the hotel i booked was still open , so I wouldn't get a refund back on the hotel. Why I asked , as I booked a package holiday!!!! Then i was informed yes, I'm right but I can have vouchers for the full amount or if I wanted a cash refund I would have to except to take £250 less. Considering it wasn't they're fault due to the globel epidemic I agreed to take the lesser amount and take the hit of £250. Which in my mind i thought maybe helping Genie!!! Then to be told I'll have to wait three month not from when they cancelled but from my departure date which was in the kids six weeks holiday. Three months later I call them and then I'm told there waiting for the airline to refund them. Its now nearly approaching five months from the departure date not from when they cancelled and I still haven't had nothing back all I get offered is a few hundred pounds on which they want to charge me a fee for on top of the £250 less they're offering me. Other friends and family members that had they holidays cancelled have all had a refund as they didn't book through Genie holidays. Complete joke I get the same poor excuse every time I email them. I would give them a zero star rating if I could !!!!

Negative experience: Would give negative stars if that was possible!! Booked an 8 night trip to New York in July 2019 for departure mid March, were advised 6 days before departure that trip was cancelled but they would contact us for options. Neil Bonner called me on 18th March, telling me we could just have this same trip (flight and hotel) at a later date, or get a full refund. We opted for the refund and Neil advised this would e arranged on 18/3/20. Then nothing, for months. Only a couple of general emails sent to all customers about how they are "working round the clock" to refund people. Not a PENNY received back. We have launched a dispute with the credit card provider and even had lawyers send a detailed letter with evidence to threaten litigation, still nothing! It is unbelievable to me that it is physically impossible to call them, phone lines are not available, but they also don't respond to emails?? The best bit is that when they did respond, once in 5 months, they told me the flight in March went ahead and we just "chose not to travel", which is utter nonsense, I almost blew a fuse reading this. I recommend you steer way, way clear of these people, if anything goes wrong with your booking, they will not help and your money is gone! If you - Holiday Genie - want to contact me to sort this out I may remove this review, but at this point I'm preparing to go to court, I am furious at how I am being treated.

Fantastic experience: The customer service makes up for the misleading prices on the company website. I was looked after by Tina, who was very empathetic towards the prices that had misled me on the website. She handled our package to New York in a very kind and professional manner, always happy to answer our questions “there were lots” and we are very thankful to her for going over and beyond. Will be going directly to Tina for future holidays!

Negative experience: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! If i could give no stars i would!!! Absolutely disgusting how they are still in business. I booked a holiday to Las Vegas in August for me and my partner to go away fro my 40th birthday. Our first holiday without the kids. We couldn't wait. The deal was the best on the market. we are due to fly out on the 20th November. I received a call on Tuesday 5th November from the adviser that booked my holiday saying that their had been a technical problem issuing my tickets. So the only solution was to re-book the tickets. I said that's fine. The issue is said the adviser that to get on that same flight I need to pay an extra £488!!! OR we can offer a flight from same price but flying from a different airport and non direct! Well that is not possible due to the fact I have travel paid for and hotel booked at my original airport! So after an hour on the phone and having no solutions to the awful options they offered the result is that my holiday has been cancelled. (Refund pending hopefully) and I have lost my hotel booking and travel costing me nearly £250!!! Not a single care was taken for how this has ruined my 40th Birthday or our plans! No compensation was offered. Just a sorry and there is nothing they can do!!! Reviewing the company and the google reviews I can see this is not the first time this has happened so I believe they are offering false prices online to draw people in and then 2 weeks before you fly they are trying to get extra money out of the traveller! It is a scam and they should be reported. I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: Nobody actually responds! Even after calling they say they'll call back in 10 min but they don't. Very poor customer service and experience when you do get to speak to someone. Avoid this company. If they're like this with taking bookings what will they be like if there is an issue!!!! I even tried there customer service number and email but received the same service.

Negative experience: Really appalled. Booked a holiday with agent Stefan for a 5 night trip to New York- a great deal which I then fully paid for the trip. 4 weeks later I get a call to advise me that there is a issue with the flights that I had booked and to be offered an alternative!!! This is not good enough we want the flights that we have already paid for. A very poor company! I now have to wait until Monday for a resolution to see what is happening with our holiday! Very stressful.

Fantastic experience: I submitted a call back request for a holiday to Orlando and was contacted by Darren within a couple of hours. He pointed out my mistake that I'd selected flights flying from and leading to different London airports and corrected the flights. He also made sure these were direct flights. Came to £595 for 8 nights including luggage. Pretty good deal. Everything was straight forward from that point and we had a wonderful holiday. Darren was prompt at responding to emails. I'd book with this company again.

Negative experience: Booked a holiday through these. Saw a beautiful 4 star hotel and booked with them. When I arrived the hotel I booked was not the hotel I got. Although every picture and review was of pattaya beach resort hotel this was not the case when I got there. The put us in next door in a dingy 3 star hotel and room was no larger than a bathroom . Contacted holiday genie straight away. Said they would sort out and ring me back. After 2 hours waiting for this call I had no choice but to check out as i couldn't possibly stay there. Still waiting for return call. Asked for a refund and still trying to get one 6 weeks later. Keep fobbing me off. THIS IS FRAUDULENT ADVERTISING and piss poor service. I have used them many times over the last 6 years and never had a problem but there customer services when something happens is very very poor. IT NOW IS IN THE HANDS OF A SOLICITOR. DO NOT USE THIS HOLIDAY COMPANY.

Negative experience: What an absolute joke this company should be struck off for there total lack of morals, and there inability to tell the truth. I left a message to be contacted about a quote for a holiday to Orlando Florida, they on paper seemed to offering the best deal , unfortunately it was all a lie, they did ring me the following morning, and I contacted them back as soon as possible, I spoke to a gentleman who apparently works from home, he said he could price match me to the quote I had been given by Travel Republic, item for item including luggage, half way through taking my details he said he had to go and that one of his female colleges would ring me back in 5 minutes, this didn’t happen, so an hour later I rang them back to be told by the female that the information I had previously been given was wrong and that he had not included luggage which would be an extra £200.00 putting the quote higher than the one I had originally been given by Travel Republic, I tried to explain to her that luggage was included as I had read out twice what I was getting with another company, alarm bells went of strait away as he disappeared from the phone and handed me over to a colleague who didn’t bother to contact me. I will tell my friends , family, colleagues not to touch them with a barg pole, they are disgusting, insincere, and I hope one day someone treats them with the disregard that they have treated me. Negative experience: I was very disappointed in this Holiday and would never want to come back to Malta again. The Holiday was very poor and was the accommodation, also the pavements on the Holiday site and around were like a bomb site, all broken and with big holes in the ground that you could trip on. Fantastic experience: So before I went on holiday I did a stupid thing of reading reviews . . And I was so worried about going away with this company.. As I'd booked to go to Florida the 18th Oct.. But I've had the best holiday I've ever had I went on my own with two children daughter 13 son 6 I was for ever ringing holiday Genie asking questions that i was worried about. And every single person I spoke to was so helpful some even rang me back to see if it got my flights seats sorted and online check in sorted.The flight was from manchester to Germany then to Florida what amazing flights we had there for some reason we had extra leg room over 300 films games music books pillows blankets as many drinks as we wanted .. Anyway we got picked up as planned checked in to hotel went to the parks got our tickets every single thing went as I wanted .. just had the best holiday ever .. Didn't want to leave .. And I will 100% be booking with this company again saved me more than 2600 then what Thomas cook quoted me .. So thank you to all the staff that had my panic calls and put my mind to rest what a great team you got ... 100 % 5 stars not one negative apart from they could of cancelled my flight home so we could of stayed ..

Negative experience: Do not use this holiday company.it has got to be the worst holiday company I have ever used.i recently booked a holiday to Barbados and asked for a non stop flight and then find out it has multiple stops before it arrives at the destination.it will take almost two hours longer.this is not what I booked but holiday genie think this acceptable and say it is only a minor delay.I asked for a change of flight then find out they had bought non refundable flights.not good when you are travelling with a baby.i made a complaint but heard nothing after 4 weeks so I decided to phone up to complain to the manager James.To be honest was also a waste of time and I’ve got absolutely no idea how he is in that position within the company because he has got to be the most arrogant person I have ever come across.once they’ve got your money they have no interest you whatsoever.

Negative experience: A terrible company with repugnant customer service. Firstly, they said nothing about a total loss of your deposit if you want to change or cancel your holiday. Not in the itenary or agreement they send you. You can’t change the date or any element of your holiday without losing all your deposit. They will automatically cancel your booking and rebook, to ensure they hold on to your deposit. Then they try and send you their standard terms of booking from their website after the event. I booked a 7 nights holiday to Dubai, and I ended up with 5 nights. The flights leave at 5:45pm and gets there the next day. So you loose a night. By the time you arrive at the hotel it’s the next day. 1 night gone. Then the return flight is 03:45am, leaving the hotel at 9:30pm. They book the taxi for you too, to make sure you don’t even notice. So again, you are not spending the night they charged you for. What a fraud. I need not pay for a night when I can just check out, store my luggage and go about doing stuff before I get my flight. This is fraudulent misrepresentation. And their customer service is awful. They are rude and arrogant when challenged. There manager Ian, is the most arrogant travel manager I have ever dealt with. I am astound as to as to how they stay in business. I will say stay away from them! I won’t give them a half a star if that option was available! Rose from London

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible customer service from the adviser on the phone was not willing to listen to me price went up by £400 when I called to book even if they gave me a free holiday I won’t take it would not recommend at all.

Negative experience: I would never ever recommend this company ever again! We had a horrific experience and they didn't do anything for us while we were in America for weeks! We wasted so much time of our holiday that we will never get back. The villa was dirty with old cake under the sofa, thousands of carpenter ants in the villa in the living room, kitchen and bedrooms. My sister woke up with ant bites all over her and they refused to do anything for us! All of our evidence has been sent to their complaints team and we still have not had a reply! Absolutely disgraceful and the company do not have any idea of how to speak to their customers and rectifying issues that should never have happened in the first place and out of our control.

Negative experience: Brought 16 ultimate tickets for orlando florida parks nearly £16000 worth !! 3 days befor we go only 4 tickets turned up and they was the wrong tickets with attractions missing from them, so phoned holidaygenie and spoke to jodie she was very rude no help at all she said they have nothing to do with the tickets they just buy them from dosomethingdifferent who was actually very helpful but i will get to that, holidaygenie (jodie) told us she dont know what to do and was basically shrugging her shoulders down the phone, so after getting no where with the money taking company who was quick enough to get your bank details but not quick enough to send your tickets or bother to help at all, we phoned dosomethingdifferent they let us collect the tickets from london after driving all the way to london from kent and having to take time off work to get them im out of pocket, but dosomethingdifferent did help and made sure we had our tickets, end of the day holidaygenie are useless do not use them you can get tickets direct from dosomethingdifferent or other companys yourself they are just the middle man who adds some commission for doing nothing, and dont actually care if you get what you paid for and could of even ruined alot of peoples holiday including children, who would probably never have the money to have a holiday like that again, stay away from this company if you want a stress free booking
