Fantastic experience: It's a very beautiful place.....I visit in the evening. It's too beautiful in the evening... I just love this place

Positive experience: Had an afternoon tea cruise, was very impressed. Individual tables, and pleasantly presented finger food. There is a car park close to the pier, it is free at weekends, which is handy. Not a big car park, so be early.

Fantastic experience: Lovely experience, both times! Amazingly helpful staff onboard. The captain had a great sense of humour too. Overall, it's quite a welcoming environment in these cruises.

Positive experience: Perfect day weatherwise commentary excellent, crew polite, refreshment available to purchase and . . . a clean loo should you need one !

Fantastic experience: Just finished the 60 minute meander cruise with 5 very happy elderly residents and this was down to the team phil and james on the boat who were fantastic customer service helped us on and of the bus were patient kind and full of knowledge and history really made the trip and would recomend it thankyou so much for a fabulous time

Fantastic experience: We were staying at Crowne Plaza Hotel, which is directly behind Caversham Pier, where boarding the Caversham Princess is located. We booked, online, just before departure for 90minutes round trip to Mapledurham. I think there is also opportunity to book at the pier. The river cruise was wonderful, lots to see, especially the stunning riverside properties and the surrounding area, which we wouldn’t have been able to see from the road. Other fun things to look out for are the scarecrows, a post box and Lara Croft! The crew were friendly and Captain Ben gave a running, informative commentary on the return journey. The boat itself is well maintained and comfortable, with seating and bar area downstairs, selling drinks and snacks, and additional seating upstairs. The toilets looked clean. (we didn’t need to use them) We were fortunate to be sailing on a sunny day so we’re able to stand at the bow of the boat, watching the world go by - absolute bliss. On departure, there is the standard safety messages and the children were given a picture quiz sheet to keep them entertained and focused throughout the trip. Pushchairs are not allowed on board, but there is a secure store area on the pier when accessing the boat. We would certainly take another cruise if we are in the area again and maybe take a longer cruise. Thank you to all the crew for a lovely experience.

Fantastic experience: This is such a lovely experience and anyone would enjoy it whether you're young or old, a Reading native or new to the area, it is a must see. I never knew the views and houses on route would be that amazing! We had our 1 year old with us so it is child friendly also, all around a fantastic little boat trip to so if you have a couple of hours.

Fantastic experience: From the moment we stepped onto the boat, till the moment we stepped off, we were looked after by very friendly helpful staff. Nothing was too much. The weather wasn't kind, but it didn't seem to matter. Lovely pot of tea, and by far the best scones I've tasted . I would definitely book again, thankyou to all the staff.

Fantastic experience: We had a 45mins boat ride on Saturday. Booking was easy and reliable (they existed!.. though couldn't find entrance on Google streetview - on day we found it by heading to river and following walking path. It happened to be a gorgeous sunny day and we really enjoyed just leisurely travellling on the river, watching all the activies - birds, people on and by river, rowers etc. Captain (& staff) was knowledgeable and professional, with enough banter to learn a few facts but not too much to spoil the trip. Felt safe. We didn't have drinks and food, but there were snacks available. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: A great plan to do with children, they have several packages of different durations and prices. I spent an autumn afternoon with 5 and 11-year-old kids and they had a fantastic time, beautiful views throughout the journey and El Capitan explains the most relevant things. I recommend it 100%.

Fantastic experience: A wonderful experience for anybody wanting a pleasant time on the Thames We bought our tickets online and arrived at the specified time and place. The boat that we went on was the Caversham Princess and it was docked along the south side of the Thames river just outside the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Reading. They check everyone in against their list of people. Everyone was seated on the covered upper deck at 2 or 4-person tables along the 2 sides of the boat. The staff of the tea service did an absolutely amazing job of serving and presenting. They constantly checked on us throughout the cruise to make sure that any questions were answered or that our teapot was full. Additionally, the staff of the boat offered non-tea alternatives for those wanting a little more to the drink options. The food that was served was sandwiches and desserts. I would recommend skipping lunch and just eating on the boat as I had to leave some of the food. While you are enjoying your tea service you are cruising down the Thames river. Our cruise took us from the Caversham Bridge to The Mapledurham Lock/dam and back to the starting point. Overall this was a lovely experience touring the Thames while enjoying an afternoon tea.

Fantastic experience: Following a phone call to Laura we booked a Sunday lunch cruise, everything was very well organised. We had a lovely relaxing time taking in the views, also heard some interesting stories shared by a crew member. Lunch was delicious. One of our party had mobility issues and all of the staff were so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend. Ths was our second cruise and we'll definately come again.

Fantastic experience: Lovely 90 minute cruise on The Caversham Lady from Caversham Bridge to Mapledurham Lock. The skipper provided a running commentary for the first 45 minutes with lots of interesting facts about the river and local sights. The price was reasonable and Saturday at 11am was dead quiet in summer holidays (families do weekday trips on a deal apparently). Just my wife, our son, and another couple. There is a bar on board for teas and beers and you can pay with contactless. A lovely day out on the river.

Fantastic experience: You do not want to miss this wonderful cruise when you are in town! It is about 10 minutes walking distance from city center. I have been with friends many times & every time the cruise is enjoyable. You will get to see Lots of historical houses, parks & famous bridges.

Fantastic experience: I was treated to a lovely 'Afternoon Tea' cruise on the Thames for my 70th birthday, it was such a fantastic afternoon and very relaxing. The food was great, the staff were top notch and I would certainly recommend to anyone wanting a special trip. Thank you to all aboard for a day to remember.

Positive experience: Great experience in that it is unique and beautiful especially on a summer day with the sun out. Tea tasted great, food was generous, service could have been warmer. Maybe it’s me being from the more enthusiastic US but I was left feeling a bit cold and just a number on a list. Feels exactly like they don’t care to be excellent.

The booking process was seamless and easy with Theresa. The boat crew lead by Captain Chris were excellent and they made the night very special. We ordered the street food menu with was plentiful and very tasty. The DJ Paul was excellent and set a great atmosphere for the evening. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you.

It made me think of buying a property there but I don't think I can afford it. See? It made me dream too. Our cruise took us 90 minutes of awe and wonder.

Fantastic experience: We hired the Princess Mariner for a family function. The crew were fantastic and very professional. The boat was great, had outdoor space at the bow that we got all 19 guests on for photographs. The main saloon was a really good size. We had a finger buffet which was great. Would certainly recommend them as a venue with a difference.

Positive experience: It's a great tour. Beautiful sceneries, landscapes, greenery, birds and water. But if you are traveling from London or elsewhere, check the road conditions and arrival time. In case of late, they will not wait for you and will give you the next available tour. If you have booked a 90 minute tour and it is missed, they will give you the next available one if it is 45 or 60 minutes and the extra amount will not be refunded. I think go there and buy tickets instead of online booking or make sure that people who are buying tickets go. No refunds will be made if one of them does not go and your money will be lost. We were late due to M4 being closed from Junction 11 to 12. Our original tour was 90 minutes but we got the next available 60 minutes. My daughter could not go for some reason and her ticket money was also lost as I had booked and paid online. They Do not refund.

You can sit inside or on the open area on top, and there is coffee, tea, some drinks, snacks, and more available for purchase. Their trips vary in duration and prices, which are suitable for different groups. It's a great spot for both tourists and locals.

Positive experience: Excellent day out. I drove from East London and think its worth the drive down. I booked online but I am sure if not peak times you can pay at the gates (online booking had an offer of 1 child free with per adult). There is a car paek right next to the Pier and up to 2 hours free parking with RinGgo. I went for the 90 min round trip at £14 per adult. Combine with a visit to local museum nearby and for Halal food I went to town centre and nearby Turkish place called Marmaris !

Positive experience: Very pleasant cruise up to Mapledurham and back, £14 for 90mins running 11am and 2pm on a Saturday with other times for shorter trips. Informative but not overbearing commentary and a bar available. You won’t see so much of the Chilterns or the great house and mill in Summer due to all the leafy trees but still an excellent and sedate way to spend a lazy Saturday for all the family
