Positive experience: Unfortunately they were shut at Totnes when we visited in October. Check their times before visiting. Lovely tee house there that was open until the end of October.

Fantastic experience: Located at the side of the river Dart and Totnes bus station it is ideal for a quick snack while waiting for bus or river boat to Dartmouth. Food is simple and well prepared and good value for money.

Fantastic experience: The beautiful river Dart at Totnes is one of serene beauty and the small cafes that overlook this setting you can sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere and view. They do nice coffee and cakes.

Great day out but not much time to spend in either Totnes or Paignton. Mind you, can't say Paignton is up to much, unless you like casinos, cheap souvenirs, kiss me quick tut, etc.... Dartmouth, on the other hand, is delightful!

Fantastic experience: Study the timetable to get an early boat down from Totnes to Dartmouth - it's about and hour and a half cruise past some fantastic scenery. If you have the Round Robin ticket (we try to get this if possible) you can spend time in town before getting the ferry (included) across to Kingswear to pick up the steam train to Paignton, again a spin around the seaside town and then get the open top bus back to Totnes. The first time we did this we ended up a little sunkissed and with a fixed grin on our faces, what a day out.

Positive experience: If you are in Totnes make sure you take a day to see the river Dart by boat. At £12.50 it’s not the cheapest - guides provide commentary of the history of the river, be aware it’s exactly the same information on your return with the same Christmas themed joke to finish. Best enjoyed on a sunny day, if it’s not wrap up warm as even inside it can be chilly. Cash only on board the boat, although the bar pricing is reasonable. Plan your day in advance as the timetables vary throughout the year.

Fantastic experience: Good views on the trips and I've had no touble paying more here to change to a more expensive trip combination. Two changes I've made were substituting paddle steamer for normal boat on one day and changing a coastal cruise from Torquay with return by steam train and bus to substitute for the train leg a Dart river Dartmouth to Totness with bus final leg. If you get the chance, take the Torquay to Dartmouth via Brixham coastal trip in either direction.

Ended up at Paignton on on part of our journey which, is not the greatest of places to be honest. But excellent for people watching if you're into that.

Fantastic experience: An excellent round trip. I take all my visitors on the "Round Robin". A lovely day out and I never tire of going on it...now upwards of a dozen times I think. And I still find the Dart commentary interesting even though I have heard it so often. A very definite must for all visitors to our beautiful area
