Negative experience: X20 service is never normaly reliable, the one day it turns up on time and the driver charges me double! Only traveled a few stops and had to pay £3! The fairs usually £1.50.
We are always happy to investigate matters like this when approached and rectify if our driver has made an error; however, this is not the place to do so; if you email [email protected] with the details they will look into and come back to you.

Negative experience: The number 7 from Barnsley to Rotherham is soooo unreliable, I'm waiting for a bus to work now ( missed again ) 3 rd bus in 2 weeks . Rubbish.

Fantastic experience: Me and 4 members of my family went to York today. We got picked up from rotherham station at 9am by the loveliest driver jayne. . She was so kind and caring made sure we knew everything we needed to know about the journey and when we arrived asked us if we would like to return earlier due to the weather being cold we all happily agreed. She was a very careful driver and we had no worrys about her being the driver she was so lovely we would return for a trip with her any day . . Thankyou jayne so chatty and polite with us and the passengers amazing lady xxxx

Negative experience: Truly appalling service provider. With regards to the X20 Barnsley to Doncaster service I wonder why they even bother. Lucky if the bus turns up at all during evening times, at least 3/4 days a week there is no service whatsoever. Truly unfathomable as to how they can call themselves a service provider.. Avoid at all costs and use an alternative. Zero stars
Perhaps you would be able to email more "precise" details over to [email protected] as to the times, and stop you are waiting for the service; our X20 service can struggle with evening traffic but it does operate, we would like to ensure you have the correct timetable and are waiting for the correct service !
Negative experience: Busses don't show up not able to speak to no one need sorting out
Millie, Are you able to provide us with a little more detail as to which service, and times you have an issue with as we are unable to investigate without this information; we operate hundreds of services daily so for us to check into the performance and hopefully look to resolve the issue we need to know where to look; if you could please email and specifics though to [email protected] a member of the team will respond accordingly.
Positive experience: Had another good day trip, this time to Lytham. This time it was a white unmarked coach that was a lot more comfortable than the Globe ones. The only thing we don't enjoy is the LOUD 60's music that didn't stop for the 2 hours each way! Don't mind a bit of low background music on long journeys but it was too much and it is off putting for future travel.
Carol, Thank you for the rating. The "White coach" is Globes, she's just not had her livery put on as yet, and oddly is the same seating / design as many of our other vehicles. With regards to the music, we have spoken with the driver and given him some feedback, and reminded him that it is not company policy to play anything loudly; hopefully you will notice this on the next trip.

Negative experience: Edinburgh tattoo we had Jane our driver very nice. But the hotel we stayed in was not good. And globe let 2 elderly people go again on the trip who had a accident. This is not the first time that this as happened
Fantastic experience: Just been on the morcombe weekend tour absolutely brilliant weekend we had staying at the Auckland hotel with my 3 sisters.Martin the driver was first class couldn't do enough for you am in a mobility power chair and he was so helpful getting it on and off the coach.The hotel is situated on the see front and is fully geared up for disabled people.The staff are fantastic and very helpful the rooms lovely and clean and the food is exceptional we are looking for our next tour xx

Fantastic experience: Went to Skegness on 20th July the drivers Craig and Lee was amazing super funny. Craig was so funny when telling us safety features and about exits made it fun and good to remember very every good. Would highly recommend

Negative experience: Appalling bus service. Waited over an hour at Barnsley Interchange for the 96 with no indication that it had been cancelled or delayed. Expect delays sometimes but the lack of information is infuriating. Ruined a day out for us at Yorkshire Sculpture Park as had no confidence that there would actually be a bus back. Why run this route if you can't provide your customers with basic information?!

Positive experience: Just on way back from 8 days in Weston-super-Mare. Excellent service from start to finish and excellent excursions. Our days out were fab we enjoyed all the places we visited. Our driver Steve always greeted everyone with a smile and engaged all of us in friendly conversation. He went above and behond to make sure everyone was happy and comfortable. Fantastic experience: Day trip to Llandudno 16june lovely place would go there again the only negative thing was the toilet for some of the passengers who had a disability the toilet was down some stairs would be better to look at your passengers then choose the coach the one we want to Bridlington on was better my husband said there were no stairs this did not apply to me it was other passengers on the coach my disabled daughter is going to Scarborough on the 24th she would not be able to manage those stairs . Hi Trish, Thank you for the review and rating. The majority of our coaches have a rear floor mounted W/C with the exception of a couple of newer ones which have centre sunken.
Negative experience: I was waiting for a bus to come but because I couldn’t track this bus and it came earlier than I expected, I didn’t have my zoom card out ready. The driver tried charging me two pounds when I said I was only fifteen. He began to give me a whole lecture for a good five minutes infront of everyone else on the bus and tried to knock me over by setting the bus off irresponsible fast. I understand I should’ve had the card out but it wasn’t my fault this bus has no tracker app so there was no way of knowing that the bus was around the corner. I sat and cried the whole way home. Disgusting behaviour.

Fantastic experience: Travelled with them for years but badly in need to go to Harry Potter studios with nigel or martin

Negative experience: Completely unreliable service, doesn't respond to letters, doesn't answer calls. They should lose the contract for the bus service, as they're receiving subsidies and not providing the service.
Can you please forward any emails or copies of letters sent to [email protected] so we can look into; we operate upward of 50 service routes daily, so I'd like to understand what service you are referring to.
Positive experience: Been on a day trip with Globe and it was very good so decided to try a short break to Llandudno. The cost was excellent value for 4 nights HB and excursions every day. Stayed at the Four Oaks, a 2 star hotel on the seafront about 20 minutes from the centre. It was okay, breakfast was preordered, juice counts as a course!! Dinners not great with some inedible roast potatoes and steak etc but most people found them adequate. Rooms were not too bad but basic as expected, the pillows were flat and hard with NO protectors on! The entertainment was really good and bar prices reasonable . The driver delivers your cases to your room so no carrying, I believe they organise you taxi home if required. The excursions were very interesting and enjoyable but music on board the bus is good on boring motorways etc it should be switched off when travelling through scenic areas. I would stay again and maybe take my own pillow and try one or two of the local restaurants? Looking forward to trying other places too.

Positive experience: Wednesday 20th of March, Thursday 21st of March. The last bus x20 from Doncaster to Barnsley no coming. I'm not happy, bought South Yorkshire weekly ticket, paid 32£, and I have waste my money for taxi. Per two days I'm lost 36£. Why bus no coming?
Hi Siga, We are sorry that you have experienced a problem with one of the services operated by our bus division, if you are able to email [email protected] I will ensure one of the team look into this for you to see what happened and more importantly what we can do better to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
Negative experience: They can't properly run a bus service. The 36 and 198 are constant no shows. They also have a phone that nobody picks up. What's the point?

Negative experience: Cheap but so are there coaches .to many seats I'm 4 foot 10 .and cant stretch my legs .untinted windows .boiling hot in summer .today they didn't even bother to turn up .so won't be using them anymore .disgusting. freezing cold today .and no bus
Thank you for your opinion, although I am somewhat confused. We had no scheduled coach excursions / holidays from Barnsley today, so have no idea how you have been left in the freezing cold today, or where it even was cold? Cheap Coaches with too many seats? They are all standard configurations. Un-tinted windows? they are all tinted, although some vary as to the degree of tint and boiling hot in the summer, not sure what we can do about the weather!
Perhaps you could call into the shop in town and discuss your issues.
Positive experience: Called to complain re 96 bus service Barnsley = Wakefield service. It was dealt in a positive attitude.

Negative experience: Cancel the 5pm 39 bus with no notice, shocking service.
Any "service bus" issues should be directed to [email protected] where we will investigate the circumstances of any cancellations. Services can be affected due to traffic / weather conditions without notice therefore leaving a 1* review without the opportunity to look into the issue isn't a fair reflection on the company.

Negative experience: Bus 1721, 1510hrs, 4/11/23. Not sure where some of your drivers get their licenses from. Gridlocked traffic, lady driver blocking off junction due to traffic, came through the lights totally legally, but unfortunately due to the high number of cars had to block off the junction momentarily. Your driver thought it was ok to intimidate the poor woman by aiming his bus for her car. Have got cctv and will be passing on to the traffic commissioner and police but wanted your company to be aware. Driver around 60 years of age. Do your drivers come to work or to intimidate women on the roads? Please sort this out, as personally I wouldn’t ever want to sit in one of your buses or coaches with dangerous drivers. So much for professional..

Positive experience: Setting off too late needs to be earlier than 10am arrived 12.30 have to be back for 5pm so as not to miss return journey you have to make your way back about 4pm so in reality you only get 3hours at your destination. More time spent on bus which is a pity.
Thank you for the review, you would have been advised on the set off time when booking the trip, if it was too late for yourself then we would have happily not accepted the booking rather than dissapoint. The reason for the 10am set-off has generally been to allow passengers to join the coach using their free after 09:30 bus-pass, when we moved the times the numbers dropped so it is always challenging to find a balance; we are looking at the departure times but for the remainder of 2023 there will be no change.
Fantastic experience: We had a absolutely brilliant day to west Midlands safariPark and Liam the driver was absolutely amazing he was so helpful even-handed we got held up on motorway he kept us updated what was happening I would go with globe any time thank you mrs m clark

Fantastic experience: I've caught the 96 to wakefield twice this week and the drivers were so friendly. Waited till pensioners had sat down before setting off. Very pleasant and friendly. Made a long journey pleasant.

Negative experience: This bus service x20 is the worst ever always late sometimes never turns up ya need to sort ya heads out n run the business properly
Perhaps a little more information would be useful? Date / Time? Our X20 service has a 98.2% punctuality rate, with looking at data for the past 14 days there has not been one missed service.
If you are able to provide details of the service to [email protected] we will look into the exact route; we would also like to check the time of the bus you are catching as there were a number of changes made to the timetable on the 23rd July.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday we went to Morecambe. Liam, our driver, was lovely. He was attentive and funny too. Although the weather was not very good it didn't spoil our enjoyment! Fantastic experience: Me and my family booked for the Kent holiday. I have to say the holiday was excellent from start to finish. Andy our driver was top notch. Very helpful, kept us informed about what was happening. Played some great music on the coach. The hotel was great too with friendly staff. The rooms were kept clean. The food was great too. Fantastic experience: Just come back from a day trip to York. Although the trip was through our local Co op, I need to put a review about our driver and transport. The coach was clean, comfortable and with all mod cons. The driver Steve was very smart in appearance, professional with a fab sense of humour. He kept us updated throughout the journey, played a good era of music and kept us all entertained. If that is the standard of globe travel, I will definitely be looking for Globe travel from now on. Negative experience: Dangerous driving, the coach driver was singing along to the radio in his own little world, while tailgating and almost caused an accident twice. He was pulling in and out of lanes recklessly and had no regard for the safety of his passengers or other road users. I would give no stars if possible. Will never be travelling with Globe ever again. Shocking, DANGEROUS driving.

Fantastic experience: Had a great day trip leaving Wetherby Thursday 11th August to Scarborough Our driver was Alex who kept us well entertained and updated re the delays on the way The coach was air conditioned and very comfortable. Plenty of time to enjoy the seaside and take in the great atmosphere.

Hi Jess, Thank you for the feedback. We started our new WY contracts on the 24th July, despite a significant number of road-works we are out there doing our best so lovely to receive some positive feedback. I'll be sure to pass it onto the drivers as without them we wouldn't be able to do it :)
Positive experience: We enjoyed a day trip to Blackpool, on 17th July, the driver was friendly and quite funny, the journey was comfortable especially with Aircon, my only complaint was the inconsideration of a couple of the passengers who kept everyone else waiting just over 30mins to set off back to Barnsley. Trains, planes and ships would not be as considerate, and I think it's time your company took the same stance, as other passengers discontent made the wait quite unbearable.
Sandra, Thank you for the review, I appreciate what you are saying and ordinarily we allow up to 10 mins before setting off, asking a passenger to sign off the paperwork; however on this occasion the lady and 14 year old child were lost, they were on the phone to the driver trying to get directions but as we understand it they ended up at the car park rather than the coach park, so another passenger kindly went to meet them and guided them back to the coach.
Morally, we could not just leave them and I genuinely would like to think that in this scenario the majority of passengers (knowing the full circumstance, which I appreciate you did not) would agree with our decision to stay and wait.
We are also aware of the discontent of a couple of the passengers, whom we have also spoken to and explained the full scenario.
Hopefully the next journey everyone will be back on time.

Fantastic experience: Just got back from the north east explorer. Had a great time. The coach was comfortable, the hotel good and went somewhere everyday, a jam packed trip. The person that made it extra special though was our driver Alex. So professional, friendly and always a smile . Nothing was too much trouble. If the top bosses read these reviews you need to keep hold of drivers this good. Can’t praise him highly enough. People will return with excellent drivers like this. Bravo Alex!

Fantastic experience: I went on a trip for the day to bakewell and Buxton with my husband and friends. We had a wonderful time the driver Alex Ratcliffe was friendly, helpful and funny, he made the journey so much better on a hot day. We had a great laugh and a sing song on the way back. We were all so happy and we are looking forward to travelling with you again soon

Fantastic experience: Fantastic day out to llandudno with our over 65s daycentre our driver steve was absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond for our clients the clients loved dillon last time but they think steves better looking sorry dillon lol joking apart though the drivers at this company have been the best drivers we have ever had in all the years our centre has been open they are fun caring and very efficient i cant recommend this company enough they are just brilliant from office staff to drivers thankyou so much globe see you in 3 weeks xx

Positive experience: The driver, Bobby, was brilliant when an awkward passenger went AWOL. Did all he could to find him but left other passengers with less time to visit locations.
Hi Lynn, thank you for the review, thankfully "AWOL passengers" are few and far between; although we appreciate it can cause annoyance to the remainder of the passengers we try to ensure we do not leave anyone abandoned, just in case they have experienced a genuine (non alcohol related) emergency.

We will certainly have a look into the W/C comment, I know that when the vehicle left for the day it was fully cleaned and functional, dependant on the "usage" during the trip by others it can become full, especially given the coach was to capacity, our apologies if it caused any discomfort.
Positive experience: Was great value, comfortable and Paul our driver was a lovely young man who did well to put up with some old women who moaned about everything. Really nice day out had a lovely time xxx

Negative experience: I wouldn't use Globe, they drive down roads which they are not legally allowed to drive down due to weight limit, especially when they are on the school run. If there was an accident are they insured, I doubt it as they shouldn't be driving down the road. The drivers are quite often on their mobile phone, again illegal. Phone globe, they don't want to know.
Perhaps you would like to give the office a call on 01226 299900 to discuss; ALL of our school runs operate to a registered route and the vehicles are all tracked, so this is an easy point for me to investigate; what road are you referencing? With regards to the use of hand held devices, you are correct this is not permitted and had you of reported this, with evidence it would have been looked into. It is not at all the fact that we "don't want to know" it is more a point of being provided with the information we can act upon, i.e. location of incident and time as we have many vehicles moving daily; although oddly none on a Sunday when you chose to write the review.
Fantastic experience: Went to Beamish on Sunday 19th March Alec the driver was brilliant he made the journey so enjoyable couldn't have been a better day weather great the only blip was when we come to pay for anything won't take cash for anything have to pay by card even for a cup of tea or coffee Well done Globe coaches

Fantastic experience: Lovely 3 day break in Bridlington stopping off at Beverly and Scarborough. Daz our driver was very helpful and cheerful keeping everyone up to date what was happening. Lovely coach nice to relax while someone else did the driving.

Fantastic experience: We have recently returned from a 5 day trip to St Annes. We had a fabulous time thanks to Martin the driver who went out of his way to ensure everyone had a fantastic time. Martin was very friendly. Sociable and had a good sense of humour. The hotel was lovely and the food was excellent. We look forward to travelling with Martin again.

Fantastic experience: My three friends and I have just come back from the Vines and Lines Trip. We had a very professional driver, Alex whose cheery chat was fun. Thank you Alex. The trip was great, we did think however the steam train trip was boring and could be dispensed with, more time in Tenterden.? Clifton Hotel good, staff excellent, food superior.

Fantastic experience: Me my wife and friend went to Scarborough with globe travel, Alex was our driver we all enjoyed both the travelling and the nice banter from Alex. The coach was comfortable and we would recommend family and friends and any one who would like a day trip or tour to contact globe travel in Barnsley. We will definitely be using Globe again.

Fantastic experience: A great day was spent yesterday 17/6/21 through globe on the Cleveland coastal tour. Throughout the day we visited 3 different places and adequate time was allowed at each place. From beginning to end globe offer a professional, efficient, and very friendly service and nothing was too much trouble for our driver Chris. Fantastic experience: I have been travelling on the bus that transports pupils to Scissett Middle School for a while now and I would like to say what an excellent service it is. The buses are clean and well maintained and they are extremely punctual. I have found the drivers to be polite and friendly and especially Steve who does the morning run. The pupils respond well with him because of his welcoming chat and funny sense of humour. I will really miss this bus if it is withdrawn and would just like to say a big thank you for the brilliant service to date. Best Wishes Mel Page.
