Fantastic experience: Brilliant store with a brilliant vibe! Didn’t have to ask anyone to help me they approached me straight as I got into the shop and were really polite and helpful with my needs! I spoke to this lovely girl named Olivia she was very polite and really friendly. Great store with great people. Can’t recommend more !
Fantastic experience: I got a grate rate for euros and a buyback guarantee from barrhead travel and was very happy with it. Had some initial problems with the buyback as not enough £ in stock however Zac who works there was particularly helpful and was able to find a solution that didn't involve me having to return another time.
Fantastic experience: An excellent experience booking our 'big' holiday to Canada next year. Ambar kept us advised on all aspects via e-mail and provided the quote and all paperwork in a timely and professional manner. She was very personable and nothing was too much trouble. (One small point, out-with the staff's control, was that if you are having your follow-up discussions at one of the desks next to the entrance, then the unnecessary, 'background' music from the mall made it hard to hear what was being said at times.)
Fantastic experience: This was the second time we have gone into Barrhead Travel in Silverburn to book a holiday as the last time was excellent but that was over a year ago (2023). This time was equally as good with Ambar giving us her expert view on places to go that would meet our needs. She was all over the details and made us feel like we had been heard and understood. Her mix of good humour and professionalism was much appreciated. Thanks to Ambar, the holiday we need is all booked and we can't wait for it.

Fantastic experience: Zak booked a non-pakage holiday all over Andulacia, a year ago and it turned out to be amazing. The hotels were well suituated, safe and good value for money. Nothing we asked was too much or complicated. He kept us up date with any changes and had our tickets printed and ready on time. Since then we have booked several holidays through Silverburn Barrhead and always asked Zak to help. It is also good that you don't get a typical sales pitch. I find the service to be efficiant, honest with no suprizes or hidden costs.

Positive experience: Having booked a holiday with Samantha and then having a change of heart within 12 hours we managed to contact her and have our whole holiday destination and hotel changed to basically the same dates with only a small increase in price for a stunningly beautiful hotel close to resorts we wished to visit. I was truly anxious and upset that we may lose our deposit or have fees to pay but Samantha went above and beyond to sort it all without any fees or hassles despite us being super picky clients but remained professional throughout and gave us more than we could of hoped for.

Negative experience: Going by the reviews - not the best place to book a cruise. Spoke with Chelsea who did not seem interested in helping! Looking for a cruise and had a terrible attitude discussing prices. Would not recommend at all, will not go back.

Negative experience: PITY THERE WASNT A MINUS SCORE AS THAT WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE. Appalling service beyond belief. We did not get the holiday we booked. AVOID Barrhead travel especially silverburn like the plague, you will regret it if you don't.
Negative experience: Booking a cruise through Barrhead Travel was big mistake. We still hadn't received any info up to a week before we travelled. Contacted them twice before being told to down load app. A lot of stress and worry ensued after being given wrong info. Transfer taxi didn't turn up in Rome but barrhead travel told us to take it up with cruise co. From start to finish customer service has been appalling. Still no resolution 3 months after complaining
Fantastic experience: I gave this Rating as we had an issue with Royal Caribbean and Zac at Silverburn shop was very helpful with our issue and very patient with Royal Caribbean as they are a nightmare trying to get anyone on the phone.
Negative experience: Appalling honeymoon package. Rubbish agent who robbed us of our money and ruined a once in a life time experience. Was promised the manager would sort it out by customer service but he passed the complaint back to customer service who have stated they are not willing to look into this. Terrible company. Avoid and save your money!
Negative experience: 2 bad experiences with barrhead travel first flight delay sitting in Glasgow Airport for 12 hours no contact from them whatsoever then people started turning up at 10.30pm who got emails to tell them about the delay second I took insurance from them which I declared my medication and said I don't want gadgets insured but everything else got stranded in Thailand due to the coronavirus virus phoned the insurance company they told me to keep all receipts claimed when I got back absolutely nothing from them I paid £126 for me my partner and daughter and was told by the insurance company that I was only insured for medication and my partner and daughter wasn't insured the policy I got sold in barrhead was an absolute joke £126 for nothing
Negative experience: If Icould score Barrhead Travel a zero-star, then I would Because I a feel extremely disappointed and let-down. I am an 18 year old student who booked their much-anticipated S.6 end of year holiday, in October- to go to Zakinthos in Greece. Being typical teenagers who are semi laid-back, we dismissed the current situation with both myself and my friend paying for the holiday, in full, on the 22nd of February 2020. We fore-saw things going a bit bad in terms of travel around the start of march and therefore, we cancelled the holiday on the 21st of march 2020. Although this was after the deadline for payment (18th of March), Barrhead travel at silverburn told myself and my friend that Jet2 would not be receiving our money until march 25th. Because of this, we were told we would receive a refund by the end of the following week (at this time i suspect the volume of cancellations and refunds would have been at the same, normal rate). When the estimated date of refund came along, I phoned up and was told that it could take 80 more days. It has Now been 62 days since we cancelled the holiday and myself nor my friend have had any contact from the company and no response to my almost 40-day-old email. There is no customer service phone number available, no useful information on the website. THE THING I AM MOST ANNOYED ABOUT IS THE FACT THAT THEY SAY THEY CANNOT REFUND US THE MONEY UNTIL THEY HAVE RECIEVED IT FROM JET2, BUT THEY WERE NEVER PAID TO BEGIN WITH!!! SO WHY ON EARTH IS IT TAKING SO LONG FOR OUR MONEY TO COME BACK TO US??? I think this company should be very VERY ashamed of themselves for such poor customer service and care. I will certainly never book with them again. If anyone knows of a telephone number I can try please get in touch on either facebook or instagram!
Negative experience: Holiday - Las Vegas Las Vegas is an amazing city with so much to do, even being there for 2 weeks I could have done more. However the money had to run out at some point. Hotel is an eye opener, the size and range of food, casino, shops is unbelievable. Flights Going with the change to flight (due to the BA strikes) it was fixed quickly and no issue to us. Very well organised and professional out and return. Hotel Resort Fee An issue on the first day was the surprise of the Hotel Resort Fee. This is the first time I had heard of this but looking into it more I understand is a thing and would recommend to check before going/booking. It was a bit of shocking to see we owed $552.52 when thinking we paid for the holiday already. The issue with this is Barrhead Travels very little notice of this fee. Emailing Barry (who booked it all for us) about this after receiving this fee said he went over this with us, if so it was quick and not explained well. He attached a form that I received a few months back and highlighted the small sentence saying there could be a hotel resort fee. If I knew the amount we still had to pay I would have saved more money up over the year and took more on holiday. (I took £2000 and that was about 1/4 of my money gone already). Price Breakdown After the hotel resort fee I wanted to check what I had paid for before going on holiday and asked Barry for a breakdown of everything I had paid for. Barry said it was not possible to send me one and still don't understand why not. This has made me question Barrhead Travel why they can't show me and makes me wonder if they over charged me and not wanting to show the evidence. Activity - The Range We booked 2 activities through Barrhead Travel. The helicopter ride was amazing and so enjoyable. The shooting range was a great experience but again Barry booked a one to one shooting experience with VIP suite and free t-shirt. The problem there was two of us and he only booked for one person. After a couple of calls we had to rearrange the whole experience so we both could shoot but missed out on certain guns and the VIP suite. I didn't really want to organise the range while on holiday as I want to spend my time enjoying it and not wasting an hour fixing Barrhead Travels mistake. Summary Barrhead Travel I feel have done just over minimum for this holiday for us. For the amount we paid I feel the flights and a pre-booked hotel is all that has been done. I'm sure I can go elsewhere to get that standard of service cheaper.
Negative experience: I have booked many holidays with Barrhead Travel but last year when my daughter was looking to book a holiday one of the advisors was very unwilling to try help her. I went in today to book a trip to the USA and it was the same woman, she was very unhelpful and when I was informing her about a deal I saw on Barrhead travel website, she processed to tell me numerous time 'I've done this job for 10 years so I know what I'm talking about'. Needless to say I left without booking it and it's unlikely I'll use Barrhead Travel again !
Negative experience: Miss sold a holiday that I'm currently on and will deal with it when I return.
Negative experience: Saw a pretty good deal in the window (4 nights in NYC in Feb for £500pp) so went in to ask if they had anything similar in September. Best they could do in store was to offer us one hotel at just under £1kpp which is fair enough, Sep is much more in demand than Feb, I get that, but I was able to find loads of deals on Barrhead Travel’s own website for right around £800pp. That was two days ago, I got the first email from them that afternoon, then another that evening, at least one yesterday another today and then a phone call today. Well done Barrhead Travel, you have successfully put me off ever stepping foot in one of your branches again.

Negative experience: A FEW YEARS AGO MY WIFE HAD MAJOR SURGERY SO WE DECIDED TO TAKE A HOLIDAY TO AID RECUPERATION.WE WENT TO BARRHEAD TRAVEL SILVERBURN AND WERE SEEN BY A MAN NAMED DAVID.WE EXPLAINED WE NEEDED SOMEWHERE QUIET AND HE SPENT A LOT OF TIME FINDING A HOLIDAY TO SUIT.HE CAME UP WITH THE CLUB MAC IN ALCUDIA MAJORCA SAYING HE HAD BEEN THERE LATELY AND WAS TWO MINUTES FROM THE BEACH AND WE WOULD GET NOWHERE QUIETER,SO WE BOOKED IT...WHAT A MISTAKE.WE GOT OFF THE TRANSFER BUS AND INTO THE HOTEL,THE RECEPTION AREA WAS LIKE A PARKING LOT FOR PUSHCHAIRS AND KIDS WERE RUNNING ALL OVER THE PLACE,DONT MIND KIDS BUT REMEMBER,WE ASKED FOR SOMEWHERE QUIET AND TOLD THIS WAS IT,THAT WAS JUST THE START.WHEN THE WIND BLEW THE RIGHT WAY THE SMELL OF SEWAGE WAS DISGUSTING,MY GRANDSON GOT AN ELECTRIC SHOCK FROM THE TOASTER AND A MAN BEHIND HIM GOT A SHOCK SO BAD FROM IT HE COLLAPSED AND STILL THEY LEFT IT OUT,THE BEACH IS A FIFTEEN MINUTE WALK,NOT TWO.ONE DAY WE DECIDED TO TAKE A WALK OVER THE SPARE GROUND THAT WAS AT THE BACK OF THE HOTEL AND SOON TURNED BACK AS THERE WERE CARCASSES OF DOGS ALL OVER THAT HAD BEEN TIED WITH ROPE AROUND THEIR NECKS AND LEFT TO DIE,THESE WERE IN DIFFERENT STAGES OF DECOMPOSITION.MY WIFE WROTE A LETTER OF COMPLAINT AND THE REPLY WAS FROM A COMPANY WHO COULDNT CARE LESS,,FELT LIKE IT WAS YOU PAID YOUR MONEY,YOU TOOK YOUR CHANCE,THEY DID OFFER A 5% DISCOUNT ON A HOLIDAY,BUT WITHIN A CERTAIN TIME,WOULD NOT USE THEM IF THEY GAVE ME ONE FOR FREE,WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN,JUST HOPE THE COMPANY WHO BOUGHT THEM OVER DO A BETTER JOB,COULDNT BE WORSE, AND HAVE BETTER CUSTOMER SKILLS,I AM ONLY GIVING THIS ONE STAR AS IT WONT LET ME SEND WITH NO STAR,PITY YOU CANT DO MINUS FIVE STAR,THAT WOULD BE MY RATING,WORST HOLIDAY AND COMPANY EVER.
