Fantastic experience: This is a booking by telephone review. We go next year. I emailed Citalia to enquire about a holiday in Italy next year. Simon emailed me straight back . The actual holiday I had looked at was quite expensive for my budget … I hadn’t taken into account it was …from a certain price so my fault. I phoned in on Simon’s recommendation to try and look at other options on the same holiday to suit our budget. I did this and spoke to a lovely lady called Antonia. Within a short time she had set up a holiday for us which suited all our requirements to visit Rome and Sorrento. The flights were perfect times and the two hotels look fantastic. She sorted out private transfers and gave sound and helpful advice …a very good experience .. I will report back next year when we have had our holiday.
Fantastic experience: This review is based on my booking experience, yet to travel. Lovely to be able to speak to someone quickly without hanging on the phone for ages. Helen was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. First class service like the good old days :-).
Negative experience: Just returned from an 8 day, two centre trip to lake Garda. Of the two four star hotels chosen by Citalia on the lake for our party of four only one met our brief of ‘boutique’ hotels. The other in name only. It was a monolith with a pretty name only a few miles from our original destination. Rooms we were allocated (2 doubles) were a junior suite with lake views and the other a pretty grotty double with back view over a derelict building. Overall would not say we got good service or good value for money. Not likely to book with Citalia again.

Fantastic experience: We booked one week in Positano with Citalia. Excellent service and knowledge from Antonnia . Tranfers were excellent and hassle free.
Fantastic experience: My wife and I with friends have just returned from a weeks holiday staying at Lake Maggiore (Stresa). The hotel (The Regina Palace) was superb as was the location and scenery. We encountered a difficulty returning home. At Milan airport our flight home was cancelled at the last moment. EasyJet staff were useless and unable to help us so I contacted Citalia and within 20 minutes their assistant had booked us on to a BA. flight the next day and also booked us into a hotel for the overnight stay. I can’t speak more highly of Citalia who, from the time the holiday was booked, until we arrived home have been exemplary. I would have no hesitation in booking with Citalia in the future.
Fantastic experience: Citalia planned us a 3 stage Italian holiday. First time we used them. Rome, Sorrento, Sicily. Visiting loads of sights including Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Pompeii to name a few. The itinerary went like clockwork transfer pickup, drop-offs and train journeys were spot on. During the quotation period we were given 3 hotel options per destination of which we chose and the actual booking is made and final price is given. All hotels were 4 star and service received was more like 5. We'll researched places to stay with fantastic facilities. All transfers are private 8 seater Merc's taxis and trains are 1st class (one was bullet train). Very good experience thank you Cassie. My only point to note is the email correspondence, you need to sort the issue of attachments not being sent. Helen sorted this by converting docs to pdf and sending as attachment. Would definitely use again when we go back.
Fantastic experience: I would definitely book with Citalia again, after our seamlessly organised trip to the opera in Verona. From the first point of contact, to our return journey, everything was perfect. Flights,transfers, our fabulous hotel, and the mind blowing opera seats, all organised and booked as a package with them. A very professional service, would recommend everytime

Fantastic experience: withmy wifes untimely death I have spoken to Citalia on several occasions. They are without doubt supportive considerate and above all professional. During this very difficult time they have made sure that my refund has been as painless as possible.I will be forever grateful.John Mitchell
Negative experience: We stayed at the Grand Hotel President in Sorrento. The staff were very good along with the food and views from the terraces .The whole building though was in need of updating to the extent that we had a damp bedroom caused by a leaking air conditioning unit. The tiny gym was terrible with all equipment faulty to the point of being unsafe and the mats were very dirty and smelt of stale sweat. The local area and tours however were fabulous but felt that the 4 stars given to this hotel were not an honest reflection of it's condition. On returning to the UK I contacted Citalia to question this point /raise concerns over the safety of gym equipment and ask when this property was last visited by the travel company. In summary I received a series of email responses deflecting my questions so in the end I decided that my future travels to Italy would not involve this company but hopefully one that had an effective customer services department.
Negative experience: Awful customer service. Booked in Jan for Oct, 4 star Hotel Capodimonte, Sorrento. As close to the end of the season for the hotel, I asked the Citalia rep if hotel services would be of the same levels as if mid-season and was given assurances that this would not be an issue. The hotel staff started to clear terraces 2 days before departure, had minimal restaurants open, the menu was the same for 5 days running and the hotel lost a personal item left in their possession on the day of departure as we were not being picked up until the afternoon. Despite raising these concerns Citalia suggested the issues were our fault, and took no responsibility for providing the original assurances in regard to end of season services, and did not investigate the issue sufficiently, as the Manager of the hotel was economical with the truth to say the least. I was offered a discount off my next holiday with Citalia equivalent to 5% of the original holiday but will not be taking them up on it. I have not been offered compensation from either Citalia or the Hotel to replace the personal item lost or stolen by the Hotel reception staff.
