Negative experience: I went into this store to look to book a holiday, I walked in no one spoke to me. The lady at the currency desk then asked what I wanted I explained to look to book a holiday. She then asked the 4 available agents if anyone wanted to serve me. The lady that did serve me finally, did not build a good rapport kept asking me to repeat what I had said. Booking a holiday is meant to be an exciting experience which this was not. Next day I went to TUI where I was met with a smile and conversation and booked my holiday there. I was expecting good things from this shop but I would not visit this store again.
Negative experience: We brought currency from here and were mislead about it when we returned to change it back, We have been back nearly a month and still waiting for someone to call me regarding my complaint. The woman who deals with the currency exchange is more interested in trying to sell you cruises and other holidays. So much for supporting local and they wonder why shops go bust when the customer service is rubbish!!!
Negative experience: The only reason I give 1 star is because I am unable to give none. Frankly I advise that no one should trust these people with your money or your safety. They have lied over and over again to me. I referred them to ABTA and they continued with the lies. They couldn't even tell the truth about who had spoken to who. They advised ABTA that they were disappointed that I had gone to them. It was them that advised me to do so! They are a bunch of liars and hypocrites and they could not care any less about their customers. I advise that there are several other travel agents in Chelmsford who would welcome your custom and provide a proper service. Give these cowboys a wide berth.
Negative experience: If I could leave less than zero stars I would. I went into the Chelmsford store on 23rd May to confirm my parents flight. The store had 4 staff all sat at their desks chatting among themselves. All but one were rude and lacked basic customer service skills. The girl on the first desk looked at me then looked away when i approached her and pretended to do something on her desk as did two of the others. When the blonde lady on the third desk clocked what just happened she asked me if I needed help as even she looked shocked. Then JO the arrogant woman on the desk in front of the blonde lady proceeded to butt in when I was speaking even though she wasn't doing anything and offered me no help! She didnt know what i was talking about anyway as she admitted it. Not surprising. She then interrupted again telling the girls she's going out to get drinks and won't be long. Remember all of the staff were chatting among themselves when I walked in and suddenly 3 of them were too busy to help me. My issue isnt that they were chatting, that's normal, its the disgusting manner in that I was treated by these two girls and one woman. They need to be educated in customer service as this isn't acceptable. I know hays is high street travel agents and not exactly luxery travel but they need to do better. I wish I got the blonde ladies name as she is clearly the most skilled.

Negative experience: Awful Company, miss - sold me a holiday which they agreed but still i loose my deposit, they are useless and take no responsibility. My advice is stay clear of this company
Fantastic experience: Evita, helped me find a holiday for the whole family for my 60th birthday. 8 adults and a 2yr old. Listened to all our requirements and found us what we wanted. Went back to book airplane seats and she was just going to lunch but she stopped to book those and answer my families questions before she went. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely beautiful the two lads who done our room rajan and pokie was so helpful and friendly ,I highly recommend this island if you want quite and relaxing holiday ,food is good and staff very friendly .we have a overwater delux villa with spa its just great getting up in morning and getting in the clear blue sea

Negative experience: AVOID Hays travel. Book your own holidays online. They give out incorrect advice re travelling. We needed a VITAL printed out document to take with us on our holiday and were informed by a Jo that we could do this all online. She then sent us two email links which directed us to the gov website re our return to the UK. Had I not looked into this further myself, my husband and I would have arrived at the airport without the important form and would not have been able to fly. Sam promised a call back which we are still waiting on two hours later. It is no wonder Thomas cook went bust and shut down if their staff have insufficient training. We usually use Tui but unfortunately they were not flying to the destination we required. Avoid Hays is all I’ll say.. same process as Thomas Cook and the staff are useless at their jobs. I give it a few months before they shut down Better service and knowledge at Tui - they do not just give out information without actually revising the job first, they find the correct information and come back to you. Good luck Hays travel, you need it!
