Fantastic experience: We went up with Oliver & crew on 26th October and they absolutely exceeded expectations. Professional, safety conscientious, all the while ensuring you have a fun experience. We booked circa 8 times before finally getting a good weather day, however YBF's processes to keep you informed (whether that be available slots or cancelling due to adverse weather) were clear and consistent so we always knew where we stood. On the day, we got involved in the set up, and take down which really gave you an insight into how it works and how knowledgeable the team were. Plus it's rather fun & immersive watching the balloon blow up with all involved. Oliver pointed out key sights as we flew, made sure we got great pictures, and had a lovely glass of champagne at the end to toast. All round 11/10 experience.

Fantastic experience: Me and 3 other passengers took a flight for my brother's 30th birthday, and the experience was lovely! Ollie and the team were super accommodating, attentive and transparent with my questions when trying to book a flight and it made the process really easy. The experience itself was fun from start to finish! We were involved in putting the balloon up and taking it down which may sound laborious but was actually made really fun and entertaining by Ollie and the team Ollie was really knowledgeable and made us all feel like we were in safe hands while up in the air. Brilliant from start to finish, if you're thinking about it, just do it ✌️

Fantastic experience: Kerry-Ann and I had a beautiful morning flight. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to book flights on an evening due to unpredictable weather, the first morning flight we were booked onto was a go. It really was a fantastic experience, Ollie and the team are a brilliant bunch and very knowledgeable as you might expect. Helping to set up the balloon and pack it down at the end of the day made the experience all the more interesting. After takeoff, the balloon travels at the same speed as the wind so you’re cocooned in an almost surreal bubble of calm, floating over the landscape below. A unique way to enjoy life from a different perspective.

We were made to feel extremely welcome and encouraged to help and be able to have a full hands on experience of helping to set the hot air balloon up ready for our flight. I love the fact that it is a family owned business and it really shows in the care and attention that you receive. I would 100% recommend them to anyone thinking of flying in a hot air balloon, I hate heights with a passion, but once in the air it was extremely tranquil watching the horizon.

Fantastic experience: Had a great Balloon ride today with an amazing crew. Safety was a top priority, and although the weather wasn't perfect, we managed to lift off after a short delay. All passengers were involved getting the balloon ready and put away at the end. This truly added to a great experience. The staff ere amazing and put everyone at ease. Fantastic experience: What a wonderful experience. Ollie and his team were very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel very safe throughout. We were all able to help with the set up and pack away, which was fun. We reached 2700 feet I believe and had spectacular views over beautiful York. The champagne toast after landing was lovely! The organisation was great, picked up and driven back to starting point by a lovely and friendly minibus driver. We were fortunate enough to fly on our first booking as the weather was clear. We highly recommend Yorkshire Balloon Flighs, and we are very happy to have supported a small family run company, who have worked very hard to create a magical business.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous experience from booking to landing and the celebration with Champagne. Kim was really helpful with the booking and explaining the experience and Ollie, Ribs and Charlie were really friendly, helpful and professional throughout. Loved being involved in setting up almost as much as the flight it’s self! The flight was great with breathtaking views and a perspective of York that you just don’t get when on the ground. The early start was well worth the result and we would recommend this to anyone. We had the individual package which really enhanced the experience but I am sure the group package is just as much fun. Fantastic experience: What an incredible experience. I was on the sunrise balloon ride on the 20th June. Ollie was our pilot and was really friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. Our balloon ride went over the city and the surrounding countryside. There were incredible sights and we finished off with a glass of champagne. It was a once in a lifetime experience that I will definitely be doing again.

Fantastic experience: I was lucky enough to receive a Yorkshire balloon flight experience as a Christmas present from my husband. I was additionally lucky in being able to fly on my first booking (they often get rearranged due to adverse weather conditions). The whole experience from start to finish was simply brilliant. The staff were very professional, but also very friendly. We had perfect weather conditions for an early morning flight from the race course over York, passing the Minster and following the A64 out of York. Topped off with an early morning (8am) glass of champagne to celebrate.

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed an amazing early morning balloon flight over York and had a great time setting up and packing away the equipment too. Our pilot was very experienced and passionate about ballooning which made the whole morning feel very safe and relaxing. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: What an incredible evening! Ollie and his crew are the most professional, nicest and genuine people you will ever meet. With their expert and clear safety procedures and advice before, during and after flying. They are faultless. What made the experience even more interesting and engaging was to be able to help out with the setting up of the balloon before and packing away after the flight. As all flights are, safety is paramount and always weather dependent and customer safety was always at the forefront. Ollie’s expert knowledge and explanation of how the weather effects the flight was immeasurable. To end our flight perfectly we finished off with champagne at sunset! 110% recommend this really wonderful experience to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Worth every penny! Ollie and the team were brilliant. It's a very hands on experience from helping to getting the balloon ready to putting it away after. The flight was superb and so calm. We felt completely safe. Lovely touches included in flight photos, champagne to celebrate the flight after and a certificate to take home. We would definitely recommend. Side notes you do have to be nimble enough to climb in and out of the basket. Wear suitable footwear as you may have to walk through very wet grass! The experience is very weather dependent and the flight can only go ahead if conditions are right, so your booking may be postponed numerous times before you finally get to fly. Morning meet time in high summer is 5am.

Fantastic experience: If anyone is thinking about it.......do it. You won't regret it! We had originally booked for 2022 Balloon Fiesta thinking it would be amazing going up with all the other balloons but english weather didn't allow that to happen. Then between English weather and growing a small human it has taken us to this morning. It was worth every second of that almost 2 years wait. And it didn't need all the other balloons to make it amazing. It was such an incredible experience, from start to finish. Ollie, the pilot and all the other crew members were fantastic. It was something new to us (which I'm sure is the case for most people) and it has become one of our favourite memories by far. It's going to take a lot to top this morning. Helping to set the balloon up, the flight, packing away and a cheeky glass of fizz. There is nothing I would change about it in anyway shape or form. It can be super disappointing when flights can't take off due to the weather. But with a bit of patience, it is worth the wait. I can promise you that. I was quite scared before the flight, but the minute we were going, there wasn't a moment that I didn't feel safe and didn't have a big smile on my face. Couldn't recommend Ollie and the team at Yorkshire Balloon Flights more. Thank you so much guys for the best morning. We loved every second.

Fantastic experience: I booked a flight for my partner and I - and from booking the flight to leaving Ollie and Dave after our flight - the whole experience was brilliant. The booking was super easy and stress free, and I felt informed with everything I needed to know; including all of the safety measures, timing and location. Ollie, our pilot, was super friendly and made the whole experience an extremely enjoyable one. He also helped me with my proposal to my partner, and I will forever be grateful to him. Fantastic experience: My partner booked our balloon flight as a Christmas present for me. Hot air ballooning has been on my bucket list since a small child. At 3200 feet my partner Adam asked me to marry him. Ollie was a great help to Adam and made organising the proposal easy - they planned for Ollie to take our photo then record the proposal. Ollie was an incredible pilot! he got us involved in the set up of the balloon and really put us at ease before and throughout the flight with clear instructions and in general his lovely personality. The flight was a lot of fun and scenic, the landing was smooth and an upright one. After the flight we had champagne together. Dave (who assists Ollie) is friendly and worked hard to make the set up and pack down swift. Adam felt booking the flight was easy and we were very lucky to fly the first flight we booked, winds can cause cancellations, I think it reassuring that Ollie take weather conditions very seriously, keeping people safe is he priority. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to book a hot air balloon ride. Thank you so much, I will treasure this memory for the rest of my life ☺️

Negative experience: My partner and I brought a voucher valid for 1 season (April - October). Unfortunately we missed the expiry date as we were unable to find an available date within the 5 month window. I spoke to a lady named Alison to explain that we were unable to see many available slots to us and the window we had to book a flight was shorter than expected. She insisted that it is not the company's fault if the available dates did not suit the customer and a refund would be impossible. I also asked if there is anything she could do to help as we were not locals but was still very keen to have our first balloon flying experience but she suggested I had to pay extra £80 to extend the voucher date for two people. I was held at a dead-end and needless to say she did not have much compassion so I accepted it was £310 down the drain. I'm sure the flight experience would have been amazing but I can't say the same for the customer service!

Fantastic experience: Finally managed to tick riding a hot air balloon off my bucket list with incredible sunrise views flying from Elvington Airfield! It took 5 attempts to be able to fly as the right weather conditions have to come along (good visibility + no rain + wind speeds can't be too high) but the wait was absolutely worth it with Ollie our fantastic pilot at the helm! It was great fun working as a team to set up and put away the hot air balloon together. Teamwork makes the dream work! Enjoyed the champagne and orange juice offering to toast the end of our hot air balloon adventures . I highly recommend flying with Yorkshire Balloon Flights!

Fantastic experience: The team at Yorkshire Balloon Flight were kind enough to allow a group of our children from Knavesmire Primary School to experience a balloon being inflated up close. They were so kind, helpful and patient that the memories of the huge balloon, the woven basket and roaring burner will live with the kids for a very long time. I thoroughly recommend this team to anyone wanting to see York from the air!

Fantastic experience: Cancelled a few times but does give you greater confidence in their professionalism each time. Ollie the pilot allayed any fears. Wonderful experience. Baskets fit 14 in so you’re in a big group. Setting up and packing away is all part of the experience. Surprisingly the height didn’t bother me at all even though I’ve felt ill looking down from tall buildings. Very peaceful. Recommend going with these guys.

I booked this for my husbands 40th birthday and thanks to perfect weather conditions we were so lucky to fly on our first booking and on his actual birthday. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing, from helping to set up the balloon, the flight itself, packing up and finishing with champagne! The whole team were brilliant, really friendly and reasuring throughout. Exceptionally well organised from booking and throughout.

Absolutely amazing from having the opportunity to help with set up, and then help pack up after. Complimentary glass of champagne was a lovely touch. Fantastic experience: Although I am a balloon pilot myself I do get to fly with other people and Balloon ride operators. Olly and Kimberley have created their company to give the customers the best possible experience when flying over York, from the moment you arrive to the field to the very end of the flight. Equipment is very well maintained and also some of the latest designed for customer comfort as opposed to packing people into the basket other operators can do. So you can enjoy the flight more. If you are in York and want to do something different then I would happily recommend Yorkshire Balloon Flights as the company to go with.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing experience- we were lucky enough to be able to fly on our second attempt which happened to be our wedding anniversary. The whole process from Booking/ rescheduling to flying was seamless. Ollie and Chris were brilliant and it was great fun to get involved in the set up and pack down of the balloon, enhancing the whole experience. The chilled champagne at the end rounded the trip off perfectly and the mini bus ride back to our cars at the end was quick and efficient. Highly recommend Yorkshire Balloon Flights. 5* experience.

Fantastic experience: Good qualified pilot shall we call him Dan . Daughters 1st flight and hubby's 2nd flight. Made even better as it was the balloon fiesta at the racecourse. Ballooning is very weather set, took 3 attempts to get up.
