Booking a tour, with Shane as the guide, was a bloody brilliant idea. The tour was 90 minutes long and in that time I learnt a lot about Oxford and the magic tricks made many in the group gasp in astonishment. I thoroughly recommend Oxford Magic Tours. Fantastic experience: I had the best time on my tour in Oxford thanks to Shane! He is so cool and a legit magician who has performed for the Royal Family, Obama, and other big names. The magic tricks are meant for the kids, but honestly I think the adults loved them even more because they were so wow. He’s super sweet, authentic, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. I loved every minute of it, thank you! I have been recommend to my family and friends for their next visit.

Fantastic experience: My sister and I did this tour about 6 weeks ago and I promised I would leave a review. Better late than never! Shane (the guide) was absolutely awesome and so knowledgeable about the area, the university, the history, etc! We were actually lucky enough to score a private tour as the other people who had booked ended up unable to attend. As it was only the 2 of us, Shane was able to take us to a few extra spots not usually included in the tour, and gave us so many personal recommendations for the rest of our day in Oxford. He even mentioned a Harry Potter tour in Edinburgh for later on our travels: 'The Potter Trail' (we did end up doing it too and it was awesome). Be prepared for your mind to be blown when Shane pulls out his magic tricks. Every few stops, Shane keeps you entertained with his sleight of hand. The tour isn't just about Harry Potter, you'll find out lots of interesting things about Lord of the Rings and Narnia too. Thanks for a great tour Shane, from 2 Aussie sisters!

Fantastic experience: We went to Oxford for the day with our friends who came from America. We decided to book the Oxford Magic Walking tour. We were disappointed we couldn't get a booking but then Shane called us to let us know he would arrange it and it would be a private tour with him. We are so grateful for him doing this for us - he was amazing and very knowledgeable too about Oxford. He even did some magic tricks for us. I would highly recommend doing this walking tour as we learnt so much and got to see a lot too. It is a shame we didn't have extended time as there were some areas we would have loved to have gone into based on Shane's recommendations but perhaps next time. Oxford is so beautiful. Fantastic experience: Shane's tours really are magical. Finding the right tour is hard for our family due to the extremely varied interests of our family members and the shorter attention span of my ten year old. My overall Oxford tour search left me feeling that most Oxford tours covered very specific aspects of Oxford (which is fine), but wasn't going to work for us. I came across Shane's website and thought it was too good to be true. Does he really cover all of these topics in one tour? I took a gamble and I'm so grateful I did. Shane's tour covered everyone's interests: history complete with kid appropriate death/blood/poop moments and clean language (thank you!!), Harry Potter sites (and which ones are worth visiting), Tolkien and Lewis, Oxford vs Cambridge, and Oxford student life (other topics as well, but those are the ones that appeased various family members). To top it all off were the magic tricks. After Shane did his first trick, my ten year old was eagerly waiting for the next trick and at one point in the tour started taking notes about the various places we were seeing and which magic tricks he was going to look up when we got home. Thank you Shane for the great tour!

Fantastic experience: Shane was a marvelous guide, knowledgeable in the local history and quite accommodating in spinning the tour to our personal interests (Tolkien, Harry Potter, and colorful tales of medieval student antics). He’s also probably the finest up close magician that it has been my pleasure to see in action. Clever patter and tricks that are infuriatingly right under your nose yet I still can’t figure them out. Eight hundred years ago, I’m quite certain that Shane would have been burnt as a witch, and I mean that as a high compliment.

Fantastic experience: I did the Oxford Magic Walking tour on 9/14/2024! It was an absolutely amazing experience and I highly recommend it to everyone! Shane was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable! He provided fantastic information about the area and the history of Oxford! Not only that, but the magic was amazing and tied in well with the areas visited on the tour! He also provided amazing information about the filming locations around Oxford! He gave me and my friend a lot of advice about where to find the best experiences. Especially because I am a huge Harry Potter fan, I found the information to be amazing, and because Shane was so knowledgeable, he was able to help me immensely in finding the locations I wanted to visit! He took us to all the major filming locations and told us where to find the most iconic sights, as well as advice on which ones were worth it and which ones were not. In addition to all the information about Oxford, Shane also recommended experiences for me to go to for when I am in Scotland later this month! This information allowed me to have the best day at Oxford and allowed me to see everything I wanted to, as well as allowed me to start planning some affordable options for my next trip! I could not of done it without this tour! Please if you are looking for a tour of Oxford, definitely go with Oxford Magic Walking tours! You will not regret it! :)

Fantastic experience: If debating whether to do a self-guided tour or have a tour guide (some of the guides drone on & on about things their groups weren't interested in), we are SOOOOO glad we had Oxford Magic Walking Tours. Our guide was amazing! Interesting facts, cool locations, showed photos of where lots of movies had been made as we were in the exact locations (Harry Potter, Wonka, etc.) as well as CS Lewis' inspirations for the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe. He suggested excellent places to visit on our own following the tour, plus he did some incredible magic tricks to keep us interested while we were transitioning from location to location. He read our group well, and showed us what we were wanting to see, as well as many things we didn't know were there. Well worth the time & money. A must-do in our books!

Fantastic experience: Leute, dass ist die Tour die richtig gute Laune macht :)! Man bekommt tolle Informationen von einem Local, sowohl zu Oxford und den Colleges, also auch zu Harry Potter, Narnia und Wonka. Obendrein gibt es noch den einen oder anderen tollen Zaubertrick zu bestaunen. Die Gruppen sind nicht allzu voll (max. 10 Personen) und der Guide wirklich eine Klasse für sich. Absolut empfehlenswert - beim Treffpunkt muss man sich ein bisschen durchfragen, weil es kein Büro oder Laden als Startpunkt gibt (eine kleine Aufstellertafel auf dem Boden), aber bei uns hat es super geklappt. Die Guides der anderen Touren kennen sich alle untereinander und helfen sich gegenseitig, damit die richtigen Menschen bei den richtigen Touren landen.

Fantastic experience: Wir haben die Tour mit Shane gebucht und waren begeistert! Es war eine kleine Gruppe, super informativ und Shane hat uns mit seinen magischen Tricks wirklich begeistert. We were all absolutely thrilled with the quality of the tour : Shane was funny, interesting and easy to understand (especially as the teenagers weren't english speakers). The tour offers just the right balance between cultural background, historical information and fun facts. The magic trick interludes make the 90-minute tour the perfect way to discover Oxford. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Oxford University, films and books Or magic. But even with the magic to one side, This was the highlight to my trip to Oxford. Our guide, Shane, made the trip incredibly enjoyable with his infectious laughter and engaging storytelling. He was knowledgeable about Oxford's rich history and shared fascinating insights throughout the tour.What set this tour apart was Shane's incredible close-up magic. His tricks were astonishing and added a unique touch to the whole experience. It was a delightful surprise and kept everyone entertained.We were a group of six, and every one of us had a great time. Fantastic experience: Extremely informative tour, very interactive and attention grabbing. You are shown famous movie and historical locations and given great advice on where and where not to pay for entry (Hogwarts Great Hall was not in fact filmed at any of the physical college dining halls!). This is all subjective, but great advice nonetheless. Highly recommend over the tours given by larger companies. This one is totally worth it. p.s The magic performance makes it all the better! Not corny, actually interesting

Fantastic experience: SO MUCH FUN!!! Shane gave us such a great tour - as a former student at Oxford, he had so many interesting insights into the daily lives of students. In addition, our kids are big Harry Potter fans and he had many fun facts about filming locations. He pointed us in the right direction of what to see and what to skip and his close up magic was....well - magical! My tip is to start your time at Oxford with his tour, you are going to have a blast!

Our family with kids 8 to 12 had an amazing time with Shane, learning the history of Oxford, seeing filming sites from movies our kids know, and mixing it up with some great magic. Fantastic experience: The tour was one of a kind. I absolutely love magic tricks and the tour itself was about history but also alot of funny and interesting anecdotes. The magic tricks were something that made the tour 100 times more memorable, there was lots of them and my mind was blown!! We also were shown locations where famous Harry Potter, Willy Wonka and other films where filmed! Wow! Really really recommend. Thank you Shane!
