Fantastic experience: Me and my girlfriend booked a shared tour but were the only ones on it which was a nice surprise, our tour guide (Guy) was very nice and had clearly took a passion to learning about the area along with being easy to talk to about random things. Negative experience: Enjoyed the tour but the boy whistling on Quayside by their ticket bike stand ruins my day everytime I go past. I used to enjoy sitting and watching the punts but he will go at it for hours. I pray he will stop or build a treehouse to feel at home with the other birds.

Negative experience: I had a booking done on Viator and when I got to the location, the lady at the desk was incredibly inattentive and taking calls mid conversation without telling us whats wrong and within the 20 minutes of standing there got the information that the booking website was wrong and that the day’s tickets are getting refunded by the website because they wanted us to book a price higher than the Viator’s price. We went through with another company with a higher price simply because Rutherford’s customer service and quality is horrendous.

Positive experience: Their stall was unmanned for some time and our trip departed late but once we were there, it was nothing but lovely. Fantastic experience: Lovely experience to pass through the historic canal listening to the punters about the story of itself, the vikings and the 31 colleges of Cambridge on both sides. The great physicists like Sir Isaac Newton, Alan Turing, Ernest Rutherford and other endless famous personalities studied in each of those colleges. The Punters articulate the history very clearly and often in funny ways getting us to know things like window tax existed in the ancient England. Great experience from Rutherford and Harry.

Positive experience: Last week we went to Cambridge with my friends from Canada. I had a mixed experience with this punting service. We had no idea about different punting service before we booked by some young boy for a 4.15 pm trip. We arrived at the point 5 min before the time but the lady there told us our time has been moved to 5:15 pm and they were ready to refund. She was very rude but lately she apologised. Refund can never be a solution for the tourists. However, it ruined our day trip as we kept on waiting for our turn and really couldn't visit the beautiful place much. But I must say, Joe, our guide that day, was fantastic. He was very informative and politely responded all our curious questions throughout those 50 min of the trip. We loved his story telling and humorous response. So overall, I won't recommend this service, however, if anyone still chooses to go with them, I would say definitely Joe will make your day.

Negative experience: We booked a punting ride at 8pm with Rutherfold two weeks before. I was a bit worried about their reliability based on some previous comments but still decided to go forward with it as they are the only one that I can book in advance online for a sunset ride. But I was so wrong. They actually kicked us to 8:30pm departure as they have another bigger group apparently. The ride is supposed to last for 45 min and sunset is 21:09, so are we supposed to be punting in the dark? They only told me when I arrived (they did tried to call me like at 19:20 but it was already too late for me to arrive for another earlier departure). I was so disappointed as I had been looking forward to this punting ride at sunset for so long. They shouldn’t be offering online booking services if they don’t honour their bookings. They just sent us to Scholars Punting finally (which actually cost half their price). They told us they’ll put us on the 8pm punting boat but it finally departed like 20 min late…. DO NOT book this company. It’s a scam.

Fantastic experience: Went to visit Cambridge today and did punting, our guide was James B. He was very informative, skilled and funny. Deserves a raise or a bonus! He gave us a lot of information about the sites we saw and even dropped some jokes wow!!!

Fantastic experience: Really great morning out. We arrived just before 10am and were able to book straight on as it was early. We had a few minutes to wait but the guys were welcoming and polite. Once we boarded it was a lovely trip with Harry our chauffeur, he was really friendly, knowledgeable and made the trip! I really recommend this company!
