Fantastic experience: Fantastic service yet again from Fraser. Nothing is too much trouble from him and he certainly looks after his clients and puts them first very efficient and is on top of everything to detail. Just returned from a fabulous holiday in Hawaii everything was perfect from Hotel,location,First class service from Fraser at Barrhead Travel.

Fantastic experience: We had fantastic help from Cheryl particularly and also Sarah. Nothing was too much. We have booked a number of holidays through Barrhead now and I can’ t thank Cheryl enough for her patience and attention to detail in finding great holidays . The way she helped us from the start and sorted out and answered our multiple questions and the patience and kindness that was shown were outstanding. Absolutely brilliant travel agents. I wouldn’t ever try and book a holiday anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Really warm welcome, was given the time I needed to explain what holiday I was looking for. The travel consultant had excellent knowledge of the destination which was so helpful when deciding where to stay and what attractions to see. I booked on the spot with the offer of leaving a small deposit. Great service and would definitely book again in the future.

Negative experience: Went online to book a call to arrange an appointment at the Gyle Edinburgh branch, never received any contact. Went into the branch & had to wait for a while before being seen. Booked a very expensive cruise & received decent service from the cruise adviser however cruise credit confirmed in receipts have failed to appear on Seabourn account. Went into branch to rectify, cruise adviser was busy & others couldn’t help. Promised she would call, didn’t. Now she’s off on holiday. Went into branch & stood waiting whilst being ignored, walked out & returned later to same situation. Walked out again & decided to phone. Surprise, surprise, no one answers & you have to leave a message. I’ve asked for a call back & still haven’t received it. Very very poor service Barrhead Travel Gyle branch. Never again will I use your services.

Negative experience: Really unprofessional service. Only went to Barrhead because of a colleagues recommendation. I asked for a cruise quote, this was sent to the wrong email. Due to the delay the cruise was then sold out. The colleague then advised that she could book through a different portal to then be let down again. Really disappointed in the service and that we missed out on a great deal due to incompetence. Advise anyone to use any other travel agents at the gyle instead as they are much more reliable.

Negative experience: While I appreciate the current circumstances. I have been waiting since the end of January beginning of February for a refund. Surprise I am still waiting even although several emails have been sent (even to the directors) but no reply. Can someone please contact email asap! The service has been absolutely shocking!!!

Negative experience: From the get go barrhead have been a nightmare. Originally spelt our names wrong and took months to get that fixed. Then lost my online payments in the system, never helped with that either. Also we was due to fly to bennidorm in june for our first family holiday. Still no official cancellation and the holiday has already passed and still no return of any emails phone calls. Instergram posts, Facebook posts and nothing. absolutely disgusting behaviour from such a large company They are still Contacting people to book new holidays though but won't contact existing customers regarding redunds of £4000..... shamefull.

Negative experience: I truly do not recommend Barrhead Travel !!! Me and my fiancé we booked our holidays to Greece on August. I wanted to book a room with any view, but outside of the building. It was the main point when I booked the hotel and travel agent from Barrhead Travel convinced we got this type of room one he made our booking. Once we checked our contract and hotel website at home we realised that we had been cheated. When we phoned to the Travel Agent he promised he would try to solve the problem, which he did not do at all. Barrhead Travel especially delay with solving the problem and replace the room to the last minute to not able us to cancel our booking. When we backed to the office for the second time and wanted to cancel our booking and required a refund, we were forced that we either took what we had or did not go at all for any holidays, as we were not allowed to cancel our booking as it was too late. The way Travel Agent talked to us was rude and unacceptable. Finally we went for our holiday and got the room with windows inside of the building which was dark and airless room. It was also very unprofessional service as we received a flight ticket with incorrect surname on it. We had to come third time to the office and asked to change the flight ticket to get all details correct. We sent two complaints emails to the Head Office and we got reply in October by letter that someone will contact us from Barrhead Travel regarding our complaints… After seven months we still have not received any reply and no response since October. I will not book any holiday with Barrhead Travel again as it was very unprofessional and very rude service provided to us and they ignored our complaints and did not respond to our emails at all.

Negative experience: I think it’s absolutely shocking after booking a holiday with Barrhead travel at the gyle spending a lot of money to go to America that no one has been in touch regarding this matter. After countless emails and heard nothing back. shocking customer service will not be using Barrhead again, quick enough to send countless emails when there showing you holidays and wanting you to book with them.

Fantastic experience: Really good deals to be had throughout the year. Be sure to check against individual parts prices to be sure your getting the best for your money.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusted, my son and 5 freinds put their trust in the hands of Barrhead at the gyle, wanted s6 holiday to magaluf for 10 days, to be told nothing available so took a 10 day in palmanova, was told it was only a 25/30 min walk to maga strip. Buzzing as they were took the deal. Got home and discovered it was for 7 days . Boys, and there parents made Barrhead aware of this. Only to be told it was an error on system and if they wanted to go ahead, £100 each upgraid. Boys after paying£480, each paying £80 deposit where told they would loose it even though admin error. Boys decided to cancel. Looking on website there is seemingly a 24 cooling off period , yet , here we are at present lost our deposit. Believe me will not end here!

Negative experience: Just had my sister on the phone about the treatment my nephew and his friends received at the South Gayle division of Barrhead. The were offered ten days in Palma Nova but due to a system error, only discovered that it was only seven days after deposit had already been paid. Assistant manger non effective and taking the issue to head office as the team in the Gyle don’t seem to share the customer service vision that head office promote. I share my sisters view that the staff took advantage of five teenage boys booking there first holiday abroad. I have travelled the world and used Barrhead Travel myself, but after this I will reconsider whether to use them in future.

Negative experience: Douglas who is the Assistant Manager at this agency. Took full advantage of me and my friends for when we booked. We told him multiple times that we wanted 10 days away and he acknowledged this every time. However put it down as 7 days. When contacted the next day he put the blame on us and didn't apologise once for messing up our holiday. He's lost us all £80 so were now much further back in our holiday planning. Cheers douglas

Negative experience: Smug doug took advantage of me and my friends for booking our s6 holiday to magaluf. We said we wanted 10 days away and he acknowledged this (he even wrote it down for looking up a place to stay in magaluf) he gave us a set price of just over £600 which included everything. As we thought this was the price for 10 days that we had stated a number of times during booking we took the deal and put down an £80 deposit. However he typed the booking in wrong and the price he gave was for 7. When confronted he took no responsibility for the admin error and put all of the blame on usNot only has he wasted our time and money but has now lost a valuable and probably would have been a lifetime customer. If i could give this less than one star i would.

Fantastic experience: The sales representative " Chris McCall" represtented Barrhead to an exceptional level whilst booking our summer holiday. Booking a holiday can be quite stressful but his enthusiastic attitude and willing to get every detail correct made the holiday booking process... Actually quite exciting! He allowed us to feel we had time to think about our options and discuss them privately if needed. Regardless of the time he had spent with us, I didn't feel there was any pressure, for us to complete a sale. We did as it was beyond fantastic! Booking the holiday was easy and I felt my partner and I were completely in control in regards to the options available and what our choices were. We weren't influenced inappropriately. The feedback about our chosen destination from Chris, our sales rep, was helpful as he had actually visited himself. I felt reassured it was a pleasant destination by the way he reminisced about his time there as he spoke. Although only one person is serving you, every staff member had a smile on their face and appeared friendly and helpful. We felt Chris McCall was genuinely trying to get the best deal for us, being as close to what we were searching for to get out of our holiday. Just so people know as I only found this out. It's possible to order currency (well Euro's anyway) and they give you it at a "preferential rate". There is also a "pre payment card" available, which if you are interested in those, there are leaflets at the counter of the bureau. In the Barrhead store it's to the far right as you walk in, the Gyle branch. They also provide an option to get your travel insurance through them. Although I didn't get my travel insurance through Barrhead, my partner did and I believe it's a competitive price. The cleanliness of the shop is of a high standard. The staff's willingness and friendly approach is reassuring they will try hard get you the best deal possible. Some travel reps just want a sale. The payment for the holiday is also ATOL protected. The staff are more than happy for you to call/get in touch with any questions you may have, no matter how trivial you think they are. Thank you.
