Negative experience: We won't be going back to Jamie ever again. She caused us so much stressed and problems. She is not good at her job. When we booked a flight in early February for a flight to Istanbul for mid May. We requested twin bed and upper floor on the day of the booking. Two weeks prior flying out I had noticed in the ticket double or twins. When I questioned her about it. She said it's not guaranteed and we have to take up with the hotel when we get there. This is not good enough Jamie. It was your job to make sure we were on the same page. You're rubbish. If I could I ticked no ⭐

Fantastic experience: We recently arranged a multi stop holiday to the USA through Barrhead Travel, Frank provided excellent service, knowledge and advice on best routes and travel mode including car hire. Frank diligently checked for best flight times, accommodation, car hire rates and curated a personalised itinerary to include the various shows and tours that we had specified. Negative experience: I booked my holiday to Egypt for over Xmas and new year I was told all the hotels in Egypt are the same but this wasn’t the case it was the worst holiday of my entire life the hotel was so dirty the food was disgusting I only got back 3 days ago and I am still ill in bed with malnutrition I wouldn’t let my dog stay in the hotel they put me in it was certainly not a 5 star I would struggle to give it 1 star I tried to get home but nobody was willing to help me I am devastated and want a refund for the stress and disgusting holiday that was supposed to be the best holiday of my life to Egypt that I never got to see

Fantastic experience: I visited Gordon Street on Saturday 6th January just to have a look at a holidays. Let's just say first class customer sevice I would give them 10 star's. Experience was just amazing. Staff where truly amazing, very friendly with lots of knowledge and patience. I booked my dream holiday within 10 mins from start to finish. Absolutely over the moon. Negative experience: We went to Egypt on 23/122023 and returned 4/01/2024, we were told it was a 5 star hotel the Jasmine spa hotel the hotel wasn’t even a 2 star the rooms were filthy to the extent I wouldn’t let my dog stay there, I have plenty of pictures of the filthy room the mattress was all blood stains and really filthy the curtains were so dirty we had to use tissues to open and close them, to get clean bedding and towels we had to pay the house keeping £20, or we didn’t get any clean stuff for the room and the agent for easy jet also had to be paid to help us, most people from the UK ate boiled eggs and bananas the whole holiday as all food was inedible unless you liked mashed potatoes and curry from the night before avoid this hotel barrhead travel had no right in sending us there I’m down to 8 and a half stone in weight with not eating for 10 days I would like to think we are due a refund as soon as our health recovers we will go into Barrhead travel to complain directly

Fantastic experience: Victoria Garbutt at Barrhead travel arranged the trip of a lifetime for me. A multi stop bespoke tour of Southeast Asia. I hadn’t fully understood what Victoria has actually done until I got to the first destination and moved between, with the excursions and various hotels. Absolutely flawless. I was fully prepared for something not to go to plan, such as life… but I knew if some thing went wrong I would be in safe hands. Victoria is my go to person for any travel and I know it has become popular to be “the bespoke travel agent” but with the backing of Barrhead Travel and the combined knowledge of the team, it really helps me make the most of any time off I have without worrying if I have made the right choice of hotel, or my timings are correct etc. Thank you so much once again! Negative experience: I would never book with Barrhead Travel again. The last time I booked 2 holidays with them was 2010 and haven't booked since. I booked 2 holidays to Majorca and Benidorm and after I booked them I discovered both holidays a lot cheaper with the Holiday And Flight Centre in Hamilton and since then most years I have asked for quotes on holidays and still find them more expensive than the Holiday And Flight Centre and even Stewart Travel. I honestly don't get the so called reputation they seem to have ? I know others who don't book with them either for the same reason. I personally believe they are that large a company - like a certain car dealer that they just don't care.

Fantastic experience: Had issue booking online called and spoke to Natalie who promised a call back at a time that suited me and kept her promise. She called me back again as promised and even informed me that my landline wasn't working when she had attempted several times to get me on my mobile. I had a great chat and got everything sorted including transfers and all documents emailed over. Today I printed the docs off and called Barrhead Travel and spoke to Lindsey and wvery question I asked she helped and answered. Nothing was too much trouble. What great customer service. Fantastic experience: We have now used Barrhead travel and Louise O'Lone to book four river trip cruises and the service has always been excellent. Louise is friendly , helpful and very efficient. She has also offered great advice about hotels and transfers.

My 2023 booking, a multi sited trip, A Malta hotel and a cruise ship, 7 days visiting Greek islands, Really looking forward to Athens Future travel? I’m researching more, Potentially football in Germany in 2024, Possibly Australia in 2025 for me, A “Lions” rugby tour, let’s wait and see. The 2026 World Cup in the USA, Let’s hope Scotland get there to play, So take this traveler's advice, Make Barrhead Travel your number 1 choice.

This year she has gone way above the normal care of us as customers, answering questions and even contacting us while we were away to reassure us that she'd rearranged flights cancelled by BA. Negative experience: Tried to book a holiday with Glasgow branch asked to be emailed prices for a long haul but this branch or their operative only deal with you if you call them can’t seem to deal with online emails! So if your deaf or mute you have no chance of this branch getting you prices better off going somewhere else

Negative experience: still waiting on contact about my holiday i was ment to go on in june told me they would be in contact still waiting shocking treatment of a customer will never book with them again once they have your money they dont care

Negative experience: They made errors in entering the correct spelling of passenger names provided to them, lacked in service levels, and set up cruise account pricing in the wrong currency, with no ability to change it, making booking of excursions a non-starter due to the exchange rates involved. They have fallen below the bar in advising, and coordinating for international passengers on the same group booking - better to go direct to the cruise lines as these guys won't work for the high prices they charge.

Positive experience: No Issues. Massive outlet with separate area for each destination/holiday type. Changed Euros here quick service x

Negative experience: ONLY A 1 STAR AS YOU CAN'T SELECT ZERO STARS! Booked a trip to New York for my parents and partner and specifically asked if I would be able to amend the ticket details nearer the time as I knew there was a chance that my partner might not be able to go. Therefore I wanted to change the name on the ticket if need be. I was told that I would be able to change the details but would need to pay an admin fee (which I didn't mind) and so I went ahead and booked through Barrhead Travel. Then, when I went to change the details prior to the trip I was told that I could not amend any of the details on the tickets after all. I was annoyed as this was the only specific request that I made and it turned out my partner could not travel so I lost just over £1000. The Managing Director of the Hamilton branch, Craig, was extremely rude, unhelpful and insinuated that because his staff had not noted my requests on the system that it was their word against mine and I was basically lying! I am not normally one to complain however I have never been treated as bad by a company in my entire life! I have since wrote to the company and a few months on I am still waiting on a response! This totally ruined a once in a lifetime trip for me and my family and as such I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy let alone friends or family!
